Ban of friends chapter 3 Please review.

Tring, tring, tring!

“Misty would you please get the door”

“Get it yourself!!”

“You’re not doing anything right now!!!” yelled Lily, annoyed by Misty’s attitude.

“ So, what you’re trying to say is, we have to care for your pokemon and do everything else” added Violet.

“Fine I’ll get the fucking door”

“What was that?”

“I’ll get the door”

“Bet your ass you will” snarled Daisy. She had quite enough of Misty’s behavior and knew that everything would change once Misty opened that door.

Misty sauntered towards the wooden door, throwing death glares at her sisters.
She turned the doorknob and pulled the door open.

“ O my god”
She backed up at the sight of the person that was standing in the doorway.

“Hello, dear..” whispered Delia. “It’s been too long.”

“What’s going on?” Misty asked, turning around to look at her sisters.
All three of them were looking at Misty with their arms crossed.

“Uhm I would like you to come with me” began Delia. “To professor Oak’s lab”

“What?…..No I can’t go there!” Misty whispered frightened.

“Your sisters and I had a little talk over the phone last night and we think it’s best if you talked about it. And by you I mean you, Ash and Gary.”

“No” Misty let out in horror. “I can’t, I can’t”
Misty looked back at her sister. They looked at her with determined faces.

“Misty you got to go. It’s the only way we can find out what’s wrong with you” Daisy whispered.

“Nothing’s wrong with me. Daisy please, don’t make me….I promise I’ll be good from now on”
Tears were streaming down Misty’s face.

“I’m sorry” Daisy mouthed, trying to hold back tears.
Lily walked over to Delia and handed her a bag with Misty’s belongings.

“Misty dear, it’ll be okay….really” said Delia, looking at the sobbing girl in sympathy.

“Common sweety, Gary is already waiting for you”

“He knows I’m coming?” Misty asked in between tears.

“Yes, the professor and I convinced him to see you….now say goodbye to your sisters and will be on our way”

Misty looked back at her three sisters with a grimace on her face.

“I will never forgive you for this” she muttered and with that she walked out of the door.

“Misty dear, you don’t mean that!” Delia said, looking horrorstruck.

“Mrs. Ketchum, it’s okay…..she’s just mad” said Lily. ‘Let’s just leave it at that”

Potly motel in palet town.

Ash had arrived at the Potly motel no more than four hours ago. After a long night of driving around in circles in thought, he finally decided to crash at this motel.

“Buzz, buzz, buzz, phone call, phone call”

“Ugh” Ash muttered rubbing his eyes, having just managed to fall a sleep.
Ash grabbed his cell phone from the night desk and looked at the number that was flashing on its screen.

He didn’t recognize it and pressed the yes button.

“Hello, Ash is that you, hellooo?” he heard a familiar voice say.

“Professor?” Ash thought in disbelief.

“Ash can you hear me? Hello!”

“Hello” Ash managed to croak out.

“Hello…is that Ash”

“Yeah, it’s me” Ash muttered.

"Ash where are you? You need to come to my lab immediately, something happened to your mother!!”

“What’s wrong with her?!” Ash asked frightened. “Is she okay?”

“No time to talk now, come as fast as you can!!!” And with that the professor hanged up.

“Errrrr, don’t hang up!!” Ash yelled, getting up and putting his shirt on.

“ Call him back” he whispered to himself, looking at his phone.

“Battery low” he read on its screen.

“Dammit!! Just my fucking luck”
He grabbed his only belongings, which were his keys and phone.

“Mom please be okay…you’re the only one I have”

Oak residence

“Professor, we’re back” Delia hollered.

“Common in, dear” she said motioning for Misty to come in.
Misty slowly entered the large edifice.

“This place hasn’t changed a bit,” she muttered sadly.
Delia observed her, as she looked around.

“You know what, you’ve become a real beauty…if only you could take that dark makeup off” said Delia, bringing a tissue to Misty’s eyes.
Misty moved her face away from her hand.

“I wear my makeup, the way I want it!!” she shot at her.

“My…uhm…yes ofcourse” Delia replied, faking a smile. “Well shall we?”

She motioned her arms towards the living room.

Misty looked at her and then at the door she was motioning to.

“Go on. It’s going to be okay”
Slowly, but surely Misty made her way towards the door.

“O god, I can’t to this,” she thought to herself, as she stopped dead in her tracks.

“Come on you’ve come this far, sweetheart” Delia encouraged her.
Delia was surprised by what happened next. Misty took a hold of her hand and squeezed it lightly.

“Come dear…it’s gonna be alright”
Misty nodded and walked more determinately to the door.
Delia turned the doorknob and opened the door slowly.

Professor Oak smiled brightly at the sight of Misty and there sitting on the couch beside him was a very ill looking Gary.

“O God” Misty whispered turning her back to them and letting Delia’s hand go. “I can’t, I can’t”
She burst in to tears. “Ugh this is so hard”

“Misty, you don’t have to be afraid of Gary. I know he brings up some bad memories, but try to remember the good times you had together.” Delia whispered putting an arm around her shoulder.

Misty nodded, wiping away a tear.
She turned around to get a better look at Gary. She looked at his gaunt face and his pale skin.

“O my god what happened to you?” Misty whispered.

Gary looked at her without answering her question. His face showing no emotion.

“Don’t worry Gary’s just sick. He’ll look like his old self when he’s better” Professor Oak replied. Gary threw him a death glare.

Misty was still looking at him. He had grown over the pass three years. His shoulders were broader and although he was sitting, she could tell he was taller.

Gary on his turn let his eyes stroll over Misty.

“Tshhh, hypocrite” he muttered.

“What do you mean by that?” Misty asked offended.

“What happened to me ? The question is what happened to you? Are you like one of those freaks…one of those goths?” Gary replied looking at Misty’s baggy black clothes.

“ That’s none of your fucking business!!”

“Hey, hey. We didn’t bring you here so you can yell at each other” Professor Oak said, looking between the two teens. “Now as far as I’m concerned you’re both here, because you both look and behave terribly”

Misty and Gary went silent, still throwing glares at one another.

“Now, I hope you figured out, why we want all three of you…..”

The sound of a swinging door was heard, coming from the hall way.

“MOM, where are you?….MA!!”

“Oh that must be Ash…Delia would you please attend to him?”

Delia nodded and ran to the living room door, opening it.

“ Hello sweety” she said standing in the doorway.

“Mom are you okay, the professor called and told me that there was something wrong with you” Misty and Gary heard Ash say.

Misty gulped nervously. She felt like she was going to faint.
Sure she has heard about his victory and how he had become a pokemon master, but she couldn’t bear to watch any photos off him or watch any tv shows he was on. It was just too painful. This would be the first time she saw him in about three years.

“I’m fine dear, but I need you to come in the living room for a second”

“Why?”

“There’s something I need to show you”
Misty heard Ash shuffle his way to the living room. He, of course, had no idea Misty and Gary were there, waiting for him.

Ash walked in to the living room with a small smile on his face, wondering if the “thing” his mother had to show him was something interesting.

His smile faded abruptly at the sight of his former childhood friends.
“O hell no” he let out, turning around to walk out the door.

“No Ash, please stay” Delia pleaded.
Ash looked at his mother furiously.

“Mom, why are you doing this. You know how I feel about this, how I feel about them!!!!” said Ash, refusing to look at the pair.
“That’s it Ash I don’t know how you feel. I don’t know what’s going on in your mind. I don’t know what Brock’s death has done to you!!”

Ash, Misty and Gary flinched at the sound of the name.

“Mom, please I can’t”

“You can’t keep running away from this!!! Let me help you”
