Ban of friends chapter 7

“What?!”

“Come on Gary we were best friends once…you had to like me at least then”

“O, you mean it like that?” he muttered.

“Ofcourse…what other way could I have meant it”
Misty scooted closer to Gary.

“I’ve missed you Gary” she said hugging him.

Gary felt a blush creep up to his face, but never the less he pushed her off of him lightly.

“Wooo there, who said you can hug me”

Misty looked at him offended.

“I said I would forgive you for lunch I never said you can touch me” he finished with a smirk.

“Ughh, you’re such an ass”
She stood up not throwing him a second glance and walked in to the kitchen to see where Ash was.

“So you two kissing already?” Ash asked coldly, hanging up the phone and looking at Misty.

He gulped as he had forgotten how pretty she looked tonight.

“Oh come on, be serious, me with Gary…and if we were kissing, what’s that got to do with you?”

“I don’t care,” he muttered.

“Where are the chips, anyways?” she asked, changing the subject.

“In that closet”

Misty walked over to the closet Ash was pointing to and opened it.

“O, great…who put them way up there” she muttered. She stood on tiptoe to reach for the bag and slightly brushed it with her fingertips.

“You need any help?”

“No, I can do it by myself” she spat at him.
Misty jumped to try to get the bag, but missed it by a hair.

Ash grinned at the silly girl and sauntered over to her.
“You really got to learn to let people help you,” he whispered in her ear. He stood a half an inch away from her and stretched over her to get the bag, brushing up against her as he did so.

“God he smells good,” she thought, gulping heavily.

“There you go,” he whispered, as she turned around and looked at him. Their faces were inches apart and she could feel his warm breath on her face. This made her feel intoxicated in a good and bad way.

“Thanks” she mouthed.

“No problem”

Misty walked past him and took a bowl from on top of the counter.
She sighed heavily. “Pull yourself together….don’t get too attached to him”

“Misty, are you okay”

“Yeah, why?”

“Cause you’ve been looking at that bag for about a minute now” he smirked.

“I’m fine…just thinking,” she muttered, opening the bag and taking out a few chips.
She put them in the bowl, her hands shaking as she did so.

“Mist…are you sure you’re okay”

“I already told you YES…now stop badgering me!!”

Ash looked at her offended. “I was just worried”

“Well don’t be!”

She walked out of the kitchen with the bowl of chips in her hand, not wanting to look at the confused teenage boy.

“Fine!!” she heard him scream.

“What was that all about” asked Gary, having heard Ash scream.

“Just play the goddamn video” she muttered, sitting down next to him.

Gary looked at her and then at Ash, who walked out of the kitchen, infuriated.
He shrugged it off and stood up from the couch, to walk over to the DVD player, putting it on play and turning on the TV.

“What kind of movie is this?” asked Misty.

“It’s a psychological thriller” Gary smirked, sitting down again. “Should be a blast for you”

Misty bit her lip in annoyance and looked at the TV as the movie started.

Gary and Ash threw Misty glances, during the film, as her breathing got heavier.

“O, god” Misty shouted, burying her face in Gary’s shoulder.

Gary grinned at her. “I thought you off all people wouldn’t be afraid…Mist” he smirked.

“Tshh” said Ash, scowling at the pair.

Tring, tring, tring.

“Pizza’s here” said Gary still holding on to a scared Misty.

“Why don’t you go get it, Ashy- boy?”
Ash stood up and threw a last murderous glare at Gary and Misty, who had now let each other go.

Gary put the video on pause.

“Sorry, I just really hate thrillers” she said, letting him go.

“Really…you must get scared every time you look in the mirror” he smirked.
Misty crossed her arms, sighing heavily.

“I’m sorry…I’m just kidding” he said chuckling.

“Wow…I got you to apologize…that’s a good start” she spat back at him.

“Come on lighten up, Mist”

“Who told you, you can call me that. Don’t ever call me that” she muttered.

“O yeah I forgot…it’s the name Ashy-boy gave you.”
Misty tutted.

“You wish it was him sitting next to you, instead of me, don’t yah. O yeah I see you two looking at each other” he whispered, brushing his nose against her ear.
Misty shivered lightly and the worst thing of it was she really did wish it was Ash sitting there.

Gary touched her arm with his fingertips.

“You wish he would touch you and hold you” he whispered, happy with Misty’s reaction. She closed her eyes in fright, as a blush crept up to her cheeks.

“Stop it” she let out standing up.
Gary looked at her with a sly grin on his face and fell back on the sofa.

“Ash and I are just friends. Nothing more” And with that she left for the kitchen.

She kicked the door once inside the empty room and cursed silently.

“Maybe Gary’s right” she thought. When Gary was “touching” her in the living room she had imagined Ash doing so.

“But I can’t fall for him…I can’t, it would be too hard if I lose him”

Tears welled up in her eyes, as she thought this.

“God if I lose him, like I lost Brock…I don’t know what I’ll do…I can’t get too attached”

“Hey, Misty” she heard him say, as he walked in to the kitchen.

“Grab some…o” Ash whispered at the sight of her bloodshot eyes. “Mist…what happened?”

He walked over to her, cupping her cheeks with his hands.

“Nothing…uhm…I think I’m just going to go up to my room”

“But aren’t you hungry?” he asked with sympathetic eyes.

“No…I just want to sleep…goodnight”

“Misty” he pleaded, holding on to her hand.

“No, Ash…please, just leave me alone”

“But things were going so great”

“Yeah…I’m just tired” she replied. She walked towards the door, only to see Gary standing there with a smirk on his face.

She walked past him covering her mouth, as tears streamed down her face.

He chuckled lightly as he watched her walk up the stairs and out of sight.
