Make Your Move Before He's Gone “These spring rolls are really good.” Misty said as she picked up a piece with her chopsticks and dropped it in her mouth. “I know. So are these noodles.” Her best friend, Cara picked up her own set of chopsticks and started twirling them around in the brown noodles. The girls were at the mall, shopping for some outfits that they could wear on vacation. “I'm so psyched to go Loco Island tomorrow.” Cara exclaimed as she ate the remainder of her lunch and tossed the plate in the trash. “Tanning, the beach..you can't forget shopping.” She winked. Misty threw a napkin the in the trash and stood up to grab her purse from the ground. “Maybe you can finally make your move on Ash.” Cara looked at her with a sly grin on her face. Misty started blushing. “I don't think he thinks of me in that way.” “Come on, Misty. If you want him as your boyfriend, you can't just keep you lip zipped about your feelings. It's worth a try.” Cara sipped her strawberry banana smoothie. “Fine,” Misty said. “But only if you help me along the way.” Cara was an expert on boys and her boyfriend, Jared, was also coming to Loco with them. “You got a deal.” She smiled. “There are five keys. One for each of us.” Brock said as he held up five hot pink keys with tiny roses on them. Misty, Ash, Cara, Jared, and Brock had just checked into the Rose Petal Resort on Loco Island. “How many rooms are there?” Jared asked, his arm slung around Cara's waist. “Two.” Brock explained. “One room for Misty and Cara and one for the rest of us.” Misty smiled. She hated sharing rooms with Brock, not that he wasn't a good friend because he was. He just snored like a Snorlax in a deep sleep. When Misty and Cara stepped into their room, they jumped up and screamed. Inside were two king sized beds, a mini spa, a big screen tv, a little house for their Pokemon to play in, and a huge balcony overlooking the resort pool and the ocean. After Misty and Cara unpacked everything into the closets and dressers, there was a knock on the door. “It's Brock.” The voice behind the door said. “Come in.” Misty was folding up the last of her t-shirts as Brock opened the door. “We were wondering if you guys wanted to eat some supper with us at about 5:00.” Misty looked over at Cara, who nodded. “Yeah, we're up for that.” Misty said. “We'll meet you in the lobby around 4:45.” “Sounds great. See you there.” Brock walked out and closed the door behind him. “This is the perfect opportunity to make your first move on Ash.” Cara exclaimed. “Let's change into some of our new clothes.” Misty opened the closet and pulled out her favorite pair of Sevens jeans. The ones that she had saved for for months. She opened her dresser and got out a flowy aqua blue halter top that she got from Hollister. Misty knocked on the bathroom door. “Cara, are you done? I need to do my hair and makeup.” Cara opened the door to reveal her outfit for the evening. A light pink Abercrombie t-shirt and a denim miniskirt. Misty pulled her side pony out and brushed her hair. She then lined her eyes with brown eyeliner, put on a coat of mascara, and glossed her lips in a coral pink color, a color that she had never worn before. She decided that she would try a new look tonight. After all, it was finally time she made Ash's heart skip a beat or two. “There they are.” Cara pointed at one of the east elevators that had opened up. Misty tried hard not to turn completely red. Ash just looked so hot tonight. In a blue blazer over a vintage t-shirt and light wash jeans, he really decided to take his outfit beyond baseball caps and solid black shirts. Even a new pair of skate shoes were on his feet. “Hey Misty.” Ash smiled. “You like my shoes? Just bought them yesterday.” “Yeah I do.” Wow, she really liked them. The group headed toward The Garden, a semi formal restaurant that was known for it's great food and even greater deserts. As they got seated in a dark green colored booth, Cara quickly sat between Jared and Brock, which meant Misty had to sit on the other side with Ash. “I'll have a Space Burst mocktail and brushetta please.” Misty said as she handed the waitress her menu. “I'll have the same.” Ash smiled at the waitress as he handed her his own menu. Brock winked and handed the waitress a napkin that he had scribbled a note on. She read it and whispered, “I'll get back to you, Brock.” “So was your room as great as ours was?” Ash asked Misty. He had turned himself around to his body was facing her. It felt a little intimate, but Misty kept her cool. “Yeah, it has a big screen and everything.” Misty smiled. “I can't believe we're staying here for three weeks.” Ash's eyes screened the restaurant for about five seconds, then his gaze went back on her. “This place is pretty cool. And this restaurant is really nice...” Suddenly, Misty looked up to see a girl her age tapping Ash on the shoulder. She had on a white denim miniskirt that was much too short for her, a hot pick off the shoulder top and hot pink kitten heels. Her dark brown hair was up in a messy Californian style up-do and her green eyes were heavily done up in black liner and mascara. “Hey hottie.” She gave Ash a flirty grin. Misty gasped and gave Cara a “help me” look. Cara just responded with her eyes going wide. Ash turned around and his face instantly became puzzled. “Uh, why are you talking to me?” He asked. “Well, duh! Because I like you a lot. My name's Jess.” She stuck out her perfectly manicured hand. “Oh, and these are my friends, Melanie and Britney.” Two more girls came up behind her. Melanie had long, blonde hair, straighted to perfection, and ruby red lips. She had a black and white striped tunic dress on that many schools would not allow in their dress code and tall black boots. Britney had wavy jet black hair and brown smoky eyes. She was wearing the skimpiest Daisy Dukes that Misty had ever seen and a tight green shirt that said “You Know You Want Me” written across the chest. “My name's Ash. And these are my friends.” He introduced everyone to Jess' posse. “Well, good to meet you.” Jess leaned in towards Ash and whispered, “Especially you.” They walked away, but Jess tossed a note behind her and it landed it front of Ash. He read it out loud: Hey Gourgeous. Hopefully you can meet us later for a swim. I wanna get to know you better. Love ya, Jess Misty hated these girls. She hated their type altogether. The kind that were spoiled, that thought they were so hot and they could get any boy that they could lure over. As they were leaving to go get ready for swimming with the girls, all Misty could think was “Why did it have to be me?”
