“Ember? Ember, wake up!” “Huh?” I mumbled, half-asleep. A spiky red-headed boy was leaning over me. “You were knocked out, Ember, by Brianna. She blamed Brendan’s death on you again.” “What the hell are you talking about?” “What do you mean? Did you forget or something?” The red-head asked. “Forget what?” I asked him, sitting up. “Whoa, I’m dizzy.” “You sat up too fast. You were passed out for two hours! You need to lie down some, take a nice rest.” He said. “I can handle this,” he motioned behind him, and for the first time I noticed we were outside a large building with a giant black S painted on the front. There was a steel-plated door with seven guards positioned in front. “Where are we?” “You really forgot a lot, didn’t you?” He stared sternly at me. “We’re at Team Shadow HQ. Mew is in there, and so is Luna.” *~**~**~**~**~* AUTHOR’S NOTE!! I’m finally updating Saffron Moon! I had an attempt of part two a while back, but, honestly, it sucked. And all of a sudden, I had a great idea for SM part 2 . . . Ember wakes up and finds herself outside Team Shadow HQ! What has happened in the *brief* gap in this story? Find out soon! *~**~**~**~**~* I stood straight up, but the boy heaved me to the ground. “What do you think you’re doing?” “I think I’m leaving you,” I stated. “I have no clue who Luna is, or Mew, or Team Shadow, or even you!” “What do you mean you don’t know any of us? You and me, we’ve been traveling together for five years!” That one really got to me. If he claims we’d been traveling for five whole years together, I think I should know him! “If you know me so well, what’s my full name?” He took no time to answer. “Annabeth Ember Flurry.” “How the hell do you know my name?” “I told you, we’ve traveled for five years,” he paused, “and you’re my best friend!” “I don’t know you! Ugh!” I began to stand up again, but he yanked me down and kissed me. I wanted to pull away, but it felt so right . . . Then I remembered something about him. “Your name is Alexander Rockefeller, but everyone calls you Axel . . . How do I know that?” “You remember! Finally! I thought that might make you remember . . .” Axel grinned his trademark cheesy grin. “But you said we were best friends . . .” I might be mistaken, but best friends don’t normally make out. “About that . . . hehehe, you see, after we traveled together so long, we started liking each other, more than friends. I can’t believe you don’t remember this, but we had taken a break from our quest to save Mew, when-” I interrupted him. “Who is Mew again?” “Mew is the legendary psychic Pokemon with extraordinary power that we befriended, and also the key to Team Shadow’s plan for world domination. We’ve stopped Team Shadow a couple times, but they always reform and devise a new plan to capture Mew.” “Oh,” I was confused by his explanation. “Oh, yeah, the energy source Mew has that they’re after is its heart. It is so pure; it has more power than any other single substance in the world.” He finished. “You make it sound simple.” ‘Trust me, it’s not.” An explosion came from the large building. “What was that?” “Just what we were waiting for,” he said, grabbing my hand and jumping up from behind the bush that hid us. “Where are we going?” I asked, stupidly, since we were running towards the building. “To save Mew and Luna.” “Who is Luna?” “You’ll see,” he pulled a Pokeball off his belt and chunked it in the air. “Go! Eirian!” A long, slender blue dragon erupted from his Pokeball. It cried out its name and spun around in the air. “Now’s not the time for tricks! Be a good Dragonair and fly Ember up to the roof and break through it with Iron Tail,” Axel commanded. The Dragonair wrapped its tail around Ember’s body, placing her on its back. “Whoa, hold on there, pal,” I said. “Why am I going through the roof, and when did you get a Dragonair?” “You’re going to get into the top chamber, where Luna is. She’ll be waiting for you, and all you have to do is tell Eirian to use Ice Beam on the guards. And I got Eirian in the Safari Zone.” I ran this through my head. “Who’s Luna again?” “Saffron Moon,” he replied, signaling for Eirian to go on. He then pulled two other Pokeballs from his belt and tossed them up. He yelled two names, but I was too far up to hear him. Eirian landed on the roof, and I yelped as I touched the steel with my hand. It was extremely hot from the sun beaming down on it all day. “Dragonairrr!” it cried and slammed into the steel with a silvery tail. It instantly crashed, sending me through the ceiling. I glanced at the ground quickly before I was all the way through the roof; a large turtle and a small black creature with a feather sticking up from its head were fighting several Arbok and some odd black birds I had never seen before. *~**~**~**~**~* I crashed down on two men in black; they moaned and fell to the ground. “Ember!” a girl behind a jail cell called out. I didn’t take an extra second to look at the female, instead I ordered Eirian to use Ice Beam. The other guards in the room tried to evade, but were trapped in a shiny icicle. Again the girl cried out, “Ember, get the keys!” This time, I glanced at her. She had shoved her hand through the bars to stroke the dragon’s head. I grabbed the keys from an inert guard’s hand and tossed them to the girl. “Thanks, Ember.” “Who are you?” I asked, again idiotically. “You always could joke around in a dangerous situation like this.” The girl chuckled and unlocked her cell. I glared at her. “I’m not kidding.” I stated, then adding, “Why does it smell like shat in here?” The girl giggled again. “Oh, Ember, you didn’t notice? There’s a huge pile of dung right over there." She pointed to the corner of the cell. "Team shadow doesn’t let captives go to the bathroom, so we have to go--” “I’ve heard enough.” I gagged. The girl rushed past the open bars, grabbing me and pulling me along. “Where are we going now?” The girl replied simply, “We’re going to find the Boss.” She flipped her hair out of her eyes as she leapt through an empty elevator shaft. For the first time, I noticed her sincere beauty. Her long, wavy blonde hair billowed behind her like a blanket, and her cerulean eyes gleamed, as if they were two dazzling jewels. I realized who the girl was as I barely managed to get across the shaft. The girl I had rescued was Luna. ~~^~~^~~^~~^~~ “Hydra, use Hydro Pump, Phantasm, jump into the water!” Axel called out to his Pokemon. The Blastoise shot a blast of water at an Arbok, and a Sneasel bound into the stream. As the water knocked the snake-like creature to the ground, the Sneasel exploded from the water and slashed at the injured Arbok. It let out a faint hiss and collapsed. “Nice one!” the red-head cheered. Phantasm jolted to his shoulder and smiled, Hydra gave a triumphant grin. “Now to get through the door . . .” “No, you don’t!” a black-cloaked man said. “You may have beaten our Pokemon, but you haven’t beaten us!” The guards nodded. “Oh, yup, I forgot about that.” Axel grinned. “Phantasm, teach these buffoons what it feels like to be . . . shadowy . . .” The Sneasel obeyed and dashed over to the men. “FYI, kid, but we are Team Shadow. We are already as shadowy as can be.” The guards chuckled. “And what’s THAT little thing gonna do to us?” “Oh you’ll see.” Axel smiled devilishly. Phantasm sped around the guards in countless circles like a flash. It cried its name and darted toward one guard. He had no clue what’d hit him, until it did. The man buckled over, gasping for air. As he fell to the ground, a faint noise was heard, the last he’d ever make. “Wha-What the hell did you do?” A guard questioned, looking at his deceased friend. “Here’s the thing-THAT little thing you made fun of, its like a silent assassin if it wants to be, but only when it’s provoked.” Axel said. “Finish them.” The Sneasel nodded and sliced through the six remaining guards. Each one tumbled over, but one remained standing. He breathed, “The Boss told us to watch out for you,” he paused, falling over. “I just wish he would’ve told us why . . .” The guard grimaced, and, slowly, the man died. ~`*~`^~`*~`^`~ Hope you enjoyed!
