A Perfect Circle Switch9192@hotmail.com "Syvan, wake up, now." I heard her voice. She was practically yelling in my ear, but my brain didn't register it. It took a slap on the face to get me to jump up off of my bed. “What do you want, Selna?” I whined, groggily opening my eyes. First thing I saw was her face, right in front of mine, shining with happiness as it always seemed to do. Her emerald eyes radiated a beauty unlike any other, and her smile was simple beauty in itself. Her auburn hair flowed graciously to her shoulders, somehow perfectly kept. “Come on, Hun, it’s a big day!” I yawned, “Is it? What’s going on today?” She chuckled and said, “its time for us to get our first Pokemon!” I slapped myself. “Oh, duh… I knew that.” I laughed and kissed Selna on the cheek. We had been best friends since birth, and I had just recently told her I was in love with her. It was Sunday and we had just got out of church. I told Selna I needed to talk to her. My heart raced as we walked out in the bright sunlight. I continued chewing on my bottom lip as I had been for the past hour or so. “Selna,” I said, taking her hand and stopping by a pillar, “I know you’re my best friend, we have been so close forever…we both know how much we’ve been through. I have watched you pass from boyfriend to boyfriend, each hurting you worse than the last…and I realized I want to be them, except without the pain to you. Do I have any chance?” I stared into the emerald eyes I found so beautiful. “You do.” She smiled. I was so shocked, I forgot to breathe. She wrapped her arms around me and I returned the hug, so happy I was almost crying. I could tell she was, for I heard a small sniffle and felt something wet fall onto my shoulder. I whispered softly in her ear, “I love you.” I snapped out of that flashback to see Selna tapping her foot impatiently. “Come on,” she whined, “go get in the shower!” I stood up and stretched, then walked over to my dresser to grab some clean clothes. After I chose a baggy black shirt and tight blue jeans, I got in the shower and turned the water temperature way up. I stood there, letting the water flow over me, waking me up, and energizing me. After a moment I scrubbed myself with medical thoroughness and turned the water off. I stepped out of the shower and dried off, looking at myself in the mirror. I stared into my own eyes, the right one blue, and the other grey. My black hair was all messed up, so I combed it out, making it fall over my left eye. After I got my clothes on, I went back to my room to see Selna lying on the bed waiting for me. At my arrival, she jumped up and ran across the room to me, stopping right in front of me. “Okay, okay, I'm ready,” I said, grabbing my camouflage hat and placing it on my head. Sometimes her excitability was annoying, but I was patient enough, and I loved how she displayed her emotions. “Let’s get going!” I said, grinning. She pounced on me, knocking me over and almost making me hit my head on the wall, “Whoa!!” I yelled as we went down. She pinned me down and sat on my stomach. She giggled, leaned forward, and kissed me on the lips. I laughed and forced her off me then rolled over to where I was on top of her. “What now?” I smirked. She smirked back and began to tickle me, as I hadn't pinned her arm down. Then she was on top of me again, tickling me and laughing. I tried to push her off, but that didn’t work, so I began tickling her back. She squealed and started to squirm around. We stayed tickling each other for about a minute until we were both out of breath. After, we lied on the floor panting and cuddling, right next to each other. “Okay,” I said, after a couple minutes, “Let’s get going,” I got up and pulled her to her feet. I walked out to the living room, waited for her to catch up, and then held the door open for you. “Ladies first,” I said in an elegant tone, bowing. She giggled, “Why thank you, kind sir,” did a small curtsy, and walked out the front door. I closed and locked it behind her. The sun shone brightly over the city. We walked the way down to the Pokemon lab, where we noted a beautiful sight. Chikoritas, Totodiles, and Cyndaquils frolicked about in a large garden in front of the grand building. I walked Selna up the stone path to the revolving glass door, and then into the building. The inside looked almost like a PokeCenter, with pink wallpaper and floor tiles. The counters were white, but there was so much experimenting equipment, it looked as if they weren't really there. I noticed a large hallway with a sign hanging over it which said, “NEW TRAINERS HERE”. “I guess that’s the way,” Selna said to me, half-dragging me toward the hall. Halfway down the hall stood the professor, Jonathan Vasquez. He was six feet tall with messy brown hair and matching eyes. His nose was slightly crooked and His shoulders slouched, but he still looked professional, somehow. “Professor!” I exclaimed, walking up to shake his hand. “Ah, yes, Syvan, and beautiful Selna. How are you two?” he said, “Today, you will be choosing a companion, to live with forever, to train, and…yeah, you know the speech. I have a special selection for you two. I am not going to let you choose, but I am giving you both an Eevee to start out with.” He handed us each a PokeBall. “Now,” he explained, “you have the choice to let it evolve to a Vaporeon, Flareon, Jolteon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, or Glaceon. That is your choice” I looked out the window. The sun still shone bright. As I turned back to Vasquez, I gasped in shock. A red laser dot had appeared on his forehead. “PROFESSOR!” I yelled. I tried to tackle him, to get him out of the way. Just as I hit him, his head blew, and he was blasted into the back wall. ~estremità~
