Chapter 3: Sweet Revenge

---------------------

Misty ran away from the scene as horrible words came into her mind to describe Candice, and her little boyfriend Ash. She wanted revenge, anything to get them back for breaking her heart time and time again. The landscape quickly passed her by as she ran again the windy blur that was the town. Suddenly she felt a hand grab her shoulder. She turned around to see Caye and Sarah. “What are you guys doing here?” she asked.

Caye smiled. “We couldn’t let our friend be alone again. That was so wrong of Ash, and I think he is beginning to realize that. But what we need is a plan; for revenge.” She explained as they got to the Resort.

Lets go to the spa for a bit, guys… I think we need to just relax a bit.” Sarah said as they passed the spa’s door.

“Well, I’m a bit hungry, can we first go to the Bamboo Leaf? Then we can plan revenge and after that go to the day spa.” Misty said. The girls nodded. They heard their stomachs grumble and decided it was a good idea to get a Mocha Latte and a snack.

-----------------------------

Ash began to realize what he did. ‘I just told Misty to go away and never come back… What have I done?’ He thought, sadly with guilt.

Suddenly, Dan, and his friend Jess walked over with Dan’s older brother, Damien and his girlfriend, Daisy. They walked over to the two boys. “Hey guys. Whats up?” Dan said, cheerfully. He couldn’t wait to see Caye again. Suddenly he realized that his friends were very, well, quiet.

“Like whats wrong, Ash?” Daisy asked. She wanted to see her sister, and realized that she wasn’t here. “Like where’s Misty?”

Ash felt a twang of guilt.

“She’s at the Resort with Caye and Sarah… There was a little mishap.” Brock spoke for Ash. Daisy nodded.

“I need to go shopping with them, for the Festival. I’ll meet them there.” Daisy said as she kissed Damien on the cheek and ran towards the Hibiscus.

----------------------------

Daisy arrived at the Resort 15 minutes after Caye, Sarah and Misty went to the Bamboo Leaf. Amanda and Candice and their friend Carly were eating chocolate cake and talking about the incident at the fountain.

“Oh my gosh. I can’t believe that bitch pushed me like that. How dare she ruin my $500 skirt and $200 shirt? Oh well, Daddy will buy another… But she’s such a…” Candice went off swearing severely to Misty.

“I never liked Misty, even when Caye was like my best friend.” Carly said. She was the biggest gossip on the whole Island. Candice nodded in approval.

“I’m just glad I get everything I want. I mean, Ash is so attractive. He deserves someone so much more gorgeous than, her. I mean, look at me. I’m rich, I’m popular, I’m perfect, who wouldn’t want me?” Candice bragged as she pulled out a mirror and some eyeliner. She carefully reapplied her messed up makeup. “There. Perfection is once again achieved.”

‘That’s what she thinks.’ Amanda thought to herself.

---------------------------

Misty sat down and drank her Latte`. Tears fell from her eyes as she realized the truth. ‘Why do I care that Ash likes her more than me? Why do I look at him and feel suddenly better? No… Caye isn’t right, she was joking…’ She looked over at her two friends who were laughing and flirting with the cashier. She set down her magazine, YM. ‘Maybe they will have something that will cheer me up.’ She thought to herself as she opened the magazine. ‘Celebrities, fashion, letters to the editor… Nothing.’ Caye walked over with her doughnut and coffee.

Whats wrong? You look awful. We’ll finish eating and then I’ll make a reservation for the spa. But I suppose you want to go back to the room and lay down… And change… That fountain wasn’t clean.” Caye said as she sat down. “Whatcha reading?”

“YM. They didn’t have anything to help me.” Misty said as Sarah sat down with her iced mocha latte.

“Ugh, Mist, Ash is so dang not worth your time. I mean he treated you like shit. Remember what he said to you?” She said grimly. Caye frowned at Sarah. ‘Well, that’s the way to go, make her remember how awful he is.’ She thought to herself.

“Whatever. Misty, I think Ash does like you. I mean, really: In the Orange League, you were sort of having dinner with Rudy. Ash didn’t like that at all. He told me that that was one of the worst nights ever. He said he was so jealous.” Caye stated triumphantly. “We just need to show him that he likes you.”

---------------------------

At the spa, Daisy was getting her nails done when Candice walked in from the door. She was surrounded by Amanda and Carly. Daisy looked up and rolled her eyes. ‘So that’s the girl whose always bashing my little sister. Hmmm…’ She thought.

“Oh look who it is. It’s her sister, Dilly.”

“Its like, Daisy. You must be that bitch who’s always hitting on Ashyboy.” Daisy said.

“Sorry, Daisy. You know, I thought the Sensational Sisters were supposed to be pretty. The fourth one certainly doesn’t cover that.” She smirked.

“I’m like the only one who can like, say that about my sister!” She said, standing up. The lady doing her nails frowned at Daisy.

“Now you ruined my art. Get out of my salon! All of you! You are causing disruption.” She said. Candice angrily walked out followed by her entourage. “Come on,” she said.

Just then, Misty walked in with Caye and Sarah. They looked at the four girls who were leaving. “Daisy!” Misty cried. “I didn’t know you were here!”

“I was here… But now I’ve been given the boot. Like, can you imagine that? A Sensational Sister, being like kicked out of a beauty spa.” Daisy said, sadly. The girls laughed.

“We’ll go to the spa another day, we need to catch up.” Misty said as she looked over at Caye and Sarah. Caye opened her mouth to argue, but she decided against it. The girls walked back to the suite, and decided to take a rest. When they walked in the suite, there was a letter on the kitchen counter.

Dear Misty, Brock, Sarah and Caye,

I will be out with Candice for a little bit. I’ll be back around 10:00, so don’t make dinner for me. Sorry for the way I acted to you Misty. It was wrong

-Ash

Suddenly, after reading the note two times through, Misty didn’t feel like she did moments ago. “I’m gonna take a shower.” She said. Misty walked into the bathroom.

“Poor girl. Candice can go-“ Caye started to curse furiously. Sarah held up her hand to stop her from saying any words that might cause more havoc.

“I need a kimono dancer for my kimono. Caye, I was hoping you would do it.” Sarah said in a whisper to her friend. Caye looked at Sarah in disbelief. But suddenly, a thought came to Caye as she began to register the future events… ‘Hang on… This is the perfect opportunity... for sweet revenge...”

“I have a better idea…” Caye grinned and told her plan to Sarah and Daisy as she realized what the perfect revenge could possibly be.

---------------------

At around 9:58 pm, Ash walked from the Hibiscus Petal with Candice. Candice was really starting to actually like him. He was very handsome. He was no longer the short 10 year old from the television series. He had become more toned and tanned. His hair was messy but in a very attractive way. He stared at her. He really did like her. But then why did he feel so guilty? It was partly because he hurt Misty. He knew he did. But also, that maybe he didn’t have the feelings he thought he did for Candice, not that she didn’t deserve a big kick in the butt. Sure, he had fun with Candice earlier, but a few times he caught himself thinking about Misty. He didn’t mean to make her go away. Hopefully she would forgive him. After all, she was his best friend.

Candice noticed that Ash was silent for some time. And he eventually put his hand over his head as to relieve a head ache caused by thinking hard. “Ash,” she said, as she stopped walking. “Do you like me?”

Ash looked startled at this question. “Of course I like you, that’s why I spent good money on this dinner,” he said with a smile.

“Ok, do you like Misty?” She asked carefully.

Ash pondered this for some time. ‘If I say I do she’ll leave me, but if I say I don’t she may flaunt it in Misty’s face…’

“I like her as a friend.” He said cautiously. She eyed him as they walked on. ‘He better be right.’

When they got her room, which was visible to Misty as Misty’s room was in a building parallel to hers. Misty had cried all night, not eaten and didn’t even go out for desert at the Café. Everyone was back as soon as they could, as not to leave Misty alone (they were all afraid she would try to jump off the balcony or eat something that could hurt her). Caye insisted on bringing two extra pieces of chocolate mousse cake for Ash and Misty to enjoy. *even though she thought Ash didn’t deserve it* Well, Misty saw Ash and Candice walk up to Candice’s door. Suddenly, Candice pulled in closer to Ash. ‘Oh no…’ Misty thought. ‘Oh no…’ Ash thought. In tears, Misty got her pen cap and chucked it out the window at the two kissing figures.

“OWWW!” Candice yelled as the kiss was interrupted by a flying pen cap. “How…?” She asked out loud.

Ash didn’t enjoy the few seconds they kissed at all. He always imagined his first kiss to be, well better. He got enough info from Misty, the romantic one, that any kiss should send off sparks. Well, all this one was, was wet. “See ya, Candice.” He said as she walked into her building.

“Bye Ash. Thanks for tonight.” She said as she blew him a kiss.

Misty saw the whole scene and this time she wasn’t crying. ‘Just let it pass, Mist. Let it pass. His expression was not of someone’s who was enjoying them self.’ She went in the other room. Brock, Caye, Daisy, Damien, Dan and Sarah were all sitting watching Grease. *EEEHH JOHN TRAVOLTA IS AWESOME*  They were all singing along to Summer Nights. Caye and Dan met when they were in this play, 2 years ago. Caye was Sandy, and Dan was Danny.

Misty loved this musical. It was her favorite, partly because she got to be Frenchy. She sat next to Sarah. “We brought you a chocolate mousse cake slice from the Café, Mist. It’s in the fridge.” Sarah said.

“No thanks… I’m not that hungry.” She lied. Caye heard footsteps outside from the window. She looked over and saw Ash walking in Caye stood up. ‘Its time I have a chat with Ash.’

“I’ll be back in a bit, guys. I have to go, um, pick up the dry cleaning.” Caye lied. She walked out the door, and as she was very upset that the next few scenes of Grease were going to have to be missed, she felt her friendship was more important than a movie. ‘I can’t wait to get Ash a piece of my mind…’ she thought as she flew down the steps to see her friend sitting on the steps, with a pen cap in his hands.

“WHERE WERE YOU???” She asked in a very ticked off way.

“I- I was just out with-“

“Misty? Were you out with her? Oh yea, the note said you went off to go with that damn CANDICE!” Caye furiously said.

Ash stared at her. He realized what she just let slip.

“Why would I be out with, her?” He asked.

“Misty? Because you like her an awful lot, that’s why.” Caye said.

“Well, Candice is way better. I mean she, well, she lets me-“

“Ok, so you like her because she is a whore. Well that’s news to anyone.” Caye said sarcastically.

Ash was speechless. Caye was never this angry. He knew she was very strong willed and she never fought unless she was on the right side.

            “Misty, where is she-“

Caye looked at him thoughtfully. ‘Hmm…’

“Ash, Misty wanted to invite you to go to the Bamboo Leaf. But since you were off doing God knows what with Candice, she decided to go with that kid Andrew who she met at the mall earlier. She’s always had something for sweet, simple guys who aren’t egotistical (which, Caye knows, was a complete flat out lie, but hey, Ash fits one of the above mentioned features)” Caye said. “I’m sure she’s still there, she left 10 minutes ago.”

Without warning, Ash ran towards the café and left Caye standing in the starlight. Dan walked out of the door and put his arm around her. “What was that?”

“Oh, just a call from Caye’s match making service.” She winked at him and smiled sweetly.

Dan opened his mouth to say something as Caye walked over to the beach. He grabbed her and they fell over in the sand. She laughed and kissed him.

“Who were you trying to help now?” He asked.

“Ash and Misty.” She said, happily. Dan just smiled and kissed her passionately again.

“Those two are way to stubborn to be matched up. You know that, Cayetee, don’t you?” Dan said.

“Don’t you Cayetee me, mister.” She said with a fake pout. “And besides, I think that will make it so much more successful. Besides, I have a plan.” And she leaned over to kiss him again.

Preview of Chapter 4: Preparations for the Festival

Ash looked everywhere for Misty. Andrew was flirting with Carly who was wearing the shortest skirt he’d ever seen. Misty was no where. Not at the Bamboo Leaf, not at the spa, nowhere. He thought he would just go home when someone tapped on his shoulder.
