“Did you know that you’re dead?” Sensei said in a perplexed tone of voice. “That’s how you greet your best student?” Jake answered. “He’s right,” a girl sitting at a computer said looking back. Her name was Kira. She trained here at the same time Jake had, but by a different teacher. “Two of our spies reported that you were ‘taking a dirt nap’. I believe that’s how they put it. One seemed very upset.” “Who were the spies?” Jake couldn’t remember anyone who would be upset by his death. “One’s name was Bonnie Birch. She’s a first cousin of Brendan Birch, and the spy that seemed a little broken up about… you know.” Kira was still reading over the screen. “And the other was—“ “Bonnie works with you guys?” Jake was shocked. “Well yes, you didn’t think she was with Team Rocket did you?” Kira asked. “Actually I did.” Jake looked at his feet. “And what’s this about me bein’ dead?” “There was an explosion at the dragon’s den in Blackthorn City. A Rocket told the police that they saw you in the cave just before it blew up.” Kira continued. “I see. Who was the other spy?” Jake was kind of curious. “His name is Blue. He’s Professor Oak’s other grandson.” Kira replied. “I thought so.” Red chimed in. “Tell me, do you know where my friend Kim is—“ Jake was interrupted by an alarm of some kind. “This is strange. Sensei, one of our ninja’s have gone rogue.” Kira reported. A younger man than Jake’s Sensei stepped out of the shadows. “Who?” “Bonnie Birch.” Kira was reading the read out. “Apparently she’s blown her cover and is tearing the Titan IV apart.” “Where is it?” Jake put his hand on Kira’s shoulder. “Fifty miles north of the Arctic Circle.” Kira read. “You guys wait here. I’ll go check it out.” Jake said. Jake walked outside. The sky was full of ominous looking clouds. =This looks bad.= Sundance decided. =What’s up?= Jake couldn’t seem to calm him down. =It’s Kim. She’s gone mad. That Airship? If we don’t get there there’ll be nothin’ left.= Sundance explained. Jake didn’t want to even think about what she and Bonnie were probably doing to Titan IV. =N-Nikolai’s up there, Giovanni too. They want us to battle.= Sundance added. Jake never shied away from a fight before, and he wasn’t about to start. “Damn!” He silently cursed as his brother came out of the cave. “Cable, I’ve gotta do something. I’ll be back soon!” He called out even though he figured on not coming back at all. He released Sundance from his pokeball. “Sundance, find Kim!” Blackthorn City The firefighters brought Trent out of the cave. He was obviously no longer living. Ben reached into Trent’s pocket looking for anything he could find. When his hand ran across a smooth metal surface, Ben gasped. He gripped the object and another one like it and pulled it out. They were Jake and Red’s badges. “So Red was here too then.” Jenny came up slowly behind him, as he turned around. Ben could see in her eyes that she had done some crying. “Ben, there’s a report of some trouble in the Arctic. A satellite picked up a flying fortress that wasn’t there before.” Ben reached into his pocket and gave her his own badge. “I’ve got business to take care of there.” Then he put his hand back into his pocket again and pulled out a pokeball. He released his Charizard. “Well, old friend it’s time we took a trip.” Charizard stretched his wings and lowered himself so Ben could climb on his back. “Let’s go!” Ben shouted. Charizard let out a roar and flew up high into the sky. Titan IV “Sir, she’s tearing the ship apart!” A grunt shouted from the back of the command deck. “She’s gonna blow us right out of the sky.” Giovanni smiled to himself. “She has gone on a self-destructive path, which will only lead to her demise.” He thought to himself. “Sir! I’m picking up a massive energy reading outside the hull of the ship. It’s moving toward the command deck.” Giovanni turned to look out of the window, but wasn’t greeted with a pleasant surprise. The cowboy’s Lugia had managed to find its way to the Titan IV. “Get out there and take him down!” Giovanni ordered. =Okay, I think I got their attention.= Jake heard Sundance say. =Good, keep ‘em occupied.= Jake replied as he opened the door which led downstairs, to the middle deck of the Titan. Jake hadn’t even made it out of the entrance before a squad of grunts saw him. Jake released Rascal and shouted “Thunder!” Bonnie had seen Kim and her Manectric go down at the hands of Dez and his Scyther, but before she could react, Kim’s Ho-oh took Dez out in one strike. After that Kim wandered around the ship until she finally dropped to her knees. Bonnie cradled the traumatized girl in her arms. Kim was bleeding badly, but Bonnie tried to stop it as much as she could. After a while, an older girl wearing a white Rocket uniform, and white gloves, appeared in a flash of light. Her hair was raven colored, and almost reached down to the floor. “Oh no, Kim.” She said kneeling beside Kim. “Master Sabrina, you know this girl?” Bonnie said with widening eyes. “Yes, Bonnie. I trained her, for the last three years. In those three years she became a close friend.” Sabrina explained. “But now isn’t the time for explanations; I have no doubt that Team Rocket knows of our true agenda.” “Master, I have to stay behind and tie up some loose ends.” Bonnie still wanted revenge. “I think Giovanni’s helicopter is still on the helipad on the roof. You can escape that way.” “Do you think vengeance is the answer?” Sabrina asked coldly. “Is that what Jake would want from you?” “I know he would do it for me if he were in my position!” Bonnie snapped, but then regretted it. “I’m sorry Master, I was out of line.” “In the years that I have known him, I’ve learned that Jake was ruthless. He didn’t play by the rules, and had no value for his own life. He most likely took his enemies with him, when he died.” Sabrina said. “I know you loved him; I did too, but he wouldn’t want either one of us to do the things he’s done.” “Well, well, well. I knew that Bonnie was a traitor, but our very own Sabrina too.” A voice remarked from the shadows. Sabrina recognized it as Zed, one of Giovanni’s personal assassin’s. “I warned Giovanni, that if you turned coat on Team Rocket once, you’d do it again, and now you’re unprepared. I can eliminate all three of you now.” They all heard the thud of foot steps, slowly walking down the hallway. The hallway was dark due to a power outage to half of the ship, so their guest didn’t have a face. “Show yourself!” Zed yelled at the darkness. “Or I’ll hurt your little friends!” He motioned to his Espeon, who lifted Sabrina off of the ground with Psychic, and suspended her there. A bolt of electricity leaped out and caught Zed in the left shoulder, spinning him around. The stranger stepped forward, until he wasn’t a stranger no more. It was Jake. He didn’t say a word, and the shadow from his hat cloaked his eyes, which made him seem very intimidating. “YOU!” Zed screeched. The right corner of Jake’s mouth curled upward into a wicked smile. He still remained silent. “ESPEON, DESTROY HIM!” Zed screeched even louder. Before Espeon could attack, another bolt of electricity leaped out of the shadow, and hit Espeon in the left side. A hand grabbed Zed, and slammed him onto the floor. “You’re under arrest, Zed.” Sabrina was looking at two Jakes; the silent and intimidating one, and the loud and, a little more than slightly angry one. Before Zed could reply, Jake punched him hard in the face and knocked him unconscious. Silently, Jake pulled out a pokeball and looked at his doppelganger. “Ditto, return.” Rascal stepped out of the shadow and stood next to Jake. Just as Jake opened his mouth, Sabrina stood up and grabbed Jake’s jacket. “Why did you stop coming to me for treatment, Jake?” She growled angrily. “Get off my back, damn it! The treatment wasn’t working.” Jake snarled back. “Never mind that now. Kim and her Manectric are hurt.” Sabrina replied. Jake knelt beside Kim, whom Bonnie was still cradling. “How, bad is it?” Jake asked Bonnie. “I don’t know. She was hit badly by a Scyther.” Bonnie said as Jake took off his jacket and covered Kim’s body with it. “Can you fly a chopper?” Jake asked. “Yes.” Bonnie whispered. Jake picked Kim up and carried her up the stairs, to the roof. “Take her to Cerulean City. She’ll be safest there.” “Okay.” Bonnie started the equipment as Jake placed Kim very carefully, in a seat in the back of the helicopter, and strapped her down. Jake turned and started back inside when Sabrina stopped him. “What do you plan to do?” “I’m gonna blow this bucket to hell and gone.” Jake said gesturing toward the ship. “Well, I’m staying with you.” Sabrina decided. “Okay; stay close.” Jake said. They both watched as Bonnie took off in the helicopter. “We need to go to the engine room. If we blow up four of the ship’s six engines, the ship will go down into the Arctic Ocean.” Sabrina said. On their way down stairs, Jake found Kim’s Manectric. Jake knelt next to Manectric, and said, “Hey Static.” Jake took a look at the gash in Static’s side. “Hmmm, this is pretty bad.” Manectric was barely breathing. Jake picked Manectric up and began to carry him, Rascal and Sabrina followed close behind. Mt Silver Cable, swung his leg up on Pidgeot’s back. “You comin’?” He called down to Red. “Yeah, just hold on.” Red answered. He let his Aerodactyl out of its pokeball. Aerodactyl flapped its wings and then took hold of Red’s shoulders. “Aerodactyl, Fly!” Jake’s Sensei stood on a rock staring out at the sun. “I hope those two can bring Jake home safely.” He thought to himself. Titan IV Jake and Sabrina found the infirmary. As Sabrina began to use her powers to heal Static, Jake searched for gauze and alcohol. “Okay, I’m gonna have to stitch the wound.” Jake announced to Sabrina. “Have you ever done anything like this before?” Sabrina asked. Jake pulled up his shirt, and showed her a U-shaped scar that looked like teeth marks. “When I was training in the mountains, I was attacked by a pack of Mightyena. One of them sunk his teeth in right there, and left that.” He pointed to the scar on his side. “The next morning, I cartelized the would, and stitched it, to make sure it didn’t open back up.” Jake sterilized a needle and began stitching. In twenty minutes the gash wasn’t sealed totally but it did stop the bleeding. “Well, now all there is left to do is destroy this damn ship.” Jake said as Sabrina put Static into a pokeball.
