Jake woke up on a marble floor, in a room he’d never seen before. 
Hanging from the walls were pictures of Jake’s past, in golden picture 
frames. He saw some of his greatest battles, and some of his worst defeats 
hanging from the walls. 
       “What is this place?” Jake asked himself as if he knew the answer. 
       “Your mind.” A dark shadow appeared in front of him. “Well, not 
technically your mind, but it is full of your memories.” 
       “How do you know any of this stuff?” Jake pointed to a picture of 
himself trapped under the rubble and debris of a warehouse. “There are only 
two people in the world that know about that, and one pokemon.” Jake said.
       “Of course, we know because you were created by us.” We voice was 
growing familiar.
       “What do you mean?” Jake’s heart was racing. “Who are you?”
       “Your body was destroyed in the accident.” He said softly. “We were 
worried that we would lose you. When we had lost all hope, our top scientist 
came up with an idea. He cloned a new body for you.” 
       “I don’t believe you.” Jake’s fear was replaced by anger.
       As if he hadn’t noticed, the apparition continued his story. “We 
tampered with the clone’s DNA; gave you superhuman strength, and even 
transplanted some types of pokemon DNA into your body.”
       Jake lunged at the shadow but went straight through him.
       “This is not a real world, therefore you cannot attack me.” 
       “Who are you!?” Jake yelled.
       “The question is who are you?” The shadow said quietly.
       “Why are you doing this to me?” Jake asked.
       “It was not our choice. You blew up the warehouse, and ultimately 
killed yourself. Darkrai was there long enough to prevent you from crossing 
over, and then we took the reigns.” He said. “You are our creation, our 
soldier, and our weapon. And now it seems you will be nothing more than a 
hindrance; therefore you must not be allowed to think for yourself.” The 
shadow turned and began to walk away. “Begin program alpha.”
       Jake felt sharp pains running up his spine. The pain made him drop to 
his knees. “W-What is this?” 
       “An insurance policy. Now you cannot defy the orders of any Team 
Rocket executive.” The shadow said, and then laughed evilly. “You are our 
Juggernaught.”
       
       Sabrina’s heart leapt into her throat. Machamp had just dumped Jake 
over the edge of the fortress to the ocean below. Kim screeched shrilly in 
horror, but stopped when Sundance brought him back up and laid him on the 
deck. 
       =You’ll pay for that.= Sundance said glaring at Giovanni. 
       “And what will you do about it?” Giovanni sneered. 
       “He won’t do anything.” Jake said feebly as he got to his feet. He’ll 
obey my commands.” Jake said. He looked back at Sabrina. 
       “Jake, are you okay?” Sabrina said, as she noticed something different 
about his eyes. The cruelty and anger that was clearly visible in his eyes 
was now replaced with no emotion at all. No anger, no fear, no joy, no 
feeling at all. She had only seen that look in his eyes once before. 
       The program that was stored in a chip in his mind had been 
accidentally activated, and he destroyed all of Cape Cerulean. She thought 
for a moment. “Delta One-Nine, stand down.” She commanded sternly.
       “Delta One-Nine, you will no longer accept any commands from Sabrina.” 
Giovanni ordered. 
       “Understood.” Jake said coldly.
       “What’s going on?” Kim asked Sabrina in bewilderment. 
       “His service chip has been activated. He’s now an operative of Team 
Rocket.” Sabrina explained. “Sundance, return!” She yelled after aiming 
Jake’s GS Ball at Sundance.
       Jake concentrated on Giovanni’s helicopter. After a second or two, the 
helicopter lifted off of the ground and flew across the helipad directly at 
Sabrina, Kim, and Kadabra.
       “Kadabra, use Teleport!” Sabrina commanded. In a flash of light all 
three of them disappeared.
       “They are no longer aboard the ship.” Jake said.
       “That’s perfectly okay. There are three more intruder’s on board the 
ship. After that, I want you to hunt down all betrayers of Team Rocket, 
starting with Sabrina, Blaine, Cable Brooks, and Bonnie Birch.” Giovanni 
commanded.
       “Understood.” Jake answered “Cable Brooks is on board this ship right 
now.” 
       “Excellent; eliminate him.”
       
       Titan IV interior
       
       Ben led Cable and Red through the narrow corridors of the Titan. “We 
need to find out where Jake was last seen. We’ll check the security offices.” 
       “Alright, but we need to hurry. I’m worried about this ship droppin’ 
outta the sky.” Cable shouted from behind Red. 
       “That wouldn’t exactly be a desirable end.” Red added.
       “Ben, you got any idea where…” Cable was cut off by a fist connecting 
with the right side of his face. He went down, and came back up to see that 
he was struck by Jake. “What the hell was that for?!?” Cable yelled angrily.
       Jake didn’t answer. Instead he bent over and grabbed Cable by his 
throat, and lifted him off of the ground. Cable’s eyes bulged as Jake’s grip 
tightened around Cable’s throat.
       “Jake, what’s the matter with you?” Red yelled in dismay.
       “Red, move!” Ben released his Charizard. “Charizard use Mega Punch!”
       Red quickly stepped aside as the Charizard planted his fist in the 
side of Jake’s head. Jake went flying nearly sixty feet, until he hit a wall, 
and left a large dent.
       Cable stood up and rubbed his own throat. “WHAT’S GOTTEN INTO YOU 
JAKE?”
       Jake stood up, and popped his left shoulder back into place. He 
concentrated on Charizard, and flung him back in Ben’s direction. Charizard 
nearly landed on Ben, but Red tackled him out of the way.
       “Typhlosion, use Flame Wheel!” Cable growled after releasing 
Typhlosion.
       Jake put up a barrier around himself, and then counter attacked 
Typhlosion.
       Red let out his Venusaur and yelled, “Vinewhip!” Venusaur’s whips came 
out of his back and grabbed Jake. 
       It didn’t take Jake more than a minute to figure a way out of his 
bonds. He reached out and grabbed Cable with speed that would put an Agility 
attack to shame. Jake slammed his brother into a wall, and broke Cable’s 
collar bone, and his left arm. 
       Venusaur’s Vinewhip grabbed Jake by the foot, and turned him upside 
down. Razor sharp leaves shot out of Venusaur’s back, in Jake’s direction. 
Vinewhips sprouted out of Jake’s back, and deflected Venusaur’s Razor leaf 
attack. Then the whips extended, and lifted Venusaur off of the ground, and 
slammed him down hard.
       Jake turned his attention back to Cable. Before he had the chance to 
grab him, a Golem came out of nowhere and pummeled Jake into the iron floor.
       A Rocket stepped out of the shadows and looked at Ben. “Get that kid 
outta here.” He motioned towards Cable who was badly hurt. 
       “Why are you helping us?” Ben asked loudly.
       “I don’t know.” He answered bluntly.
       Ben and Red grabbed Cable and made for any exit they could find.
       
       Saffron City Gym
       
       Kim was still in shock. She didn’t know how, but she was positive Jake 
threw a helicopter at her and Sabrina. “Tell me what that was.”
       “That was Jake’s bad side.” Sabrina answered. She and Kadabra were 
moving rubble with Telekinesis. “He’s a product of horrific gene splicing and 
morally questionable experiments. You see, Jake’s body was destroyed in an 
accident in Slateport City. When I was with Team Rocket, I was assigned to 
make sure Jake’s new cloned body didn’t age too fast. Jake was unconscious 
the entire time. After I was sure his body was perfectly stable, I gave the 
okay to ‘dump’ him exactly where we found him. Jake is one of two bio-weapons 
created by Team Rocket. The first one’s designation number was Beta Two-Six. 
It was a super clone of Mew. After it turned on Giovanni, he had a mind 
control chip installed in the second weapon’s mind.” Sabrina found what she 
was looking for; a trap door.
       “You knew he was a biological super weapon, and didn’t tell him?!” Kim 
shrieked. 
       “I’m afraid the news would have sent him over the edge. He is already 
full of rage over what Nikolai Kruschev did to him. If I’d told him he was 
bred for only destruction, he would have done far worse things than what he’s 
already done.” Sabrina said as she entered a combination into the trap door. 
The door slid open.
       Inside there were many monitors and keyboards. “This is where I helped 
keep Jake from discovering his own secret. He thought I was trying to help 
him break the curse that Darkrai put on him, but I was really trying to 
prevent his dark side from reaching the surface.” Sabrina said.
       “I thought you said he was under mind control.” Kim was confused.
       “Not actual mind control. The chip prevents him from disobeying 
orders, but it also allows his dark side to manifest itself.” Sabrina 
answered. She typed in a command into the computer, and then looked at Kim.
       “The DNA of the same Mew, that Mewtwo was created from, was also 
transplanted into Jake’s new body. He can mimic any pokemon’s DNA, and even 
fully transform into those pokemon.” Sabrina was more concerned about Jake, 
than Kim had ever seen her concerned about anything else.
       
       Bridge of the Titan IV
       
       Jake stood next to Billy waiting for Giovanni to speak. 
       “Why did you allow them to escape, Mr. Biles?” Giovanni growled at 
Billy.
       “Sir, I prevented Skippy here from eliminating our only lead to 
finding Erika.” Billy said jerking his head angrily at Jake.
       “Sir, he was trying to prevent me from eliminating a traitor.” Jake 
said.
       “It’s true he’s an informer, but he’s also got information on Erika’s 
whereabouts.” Billy answered in his own defense.
       Giovanni thought for a moment. “My sources tell me they’ve just 
checked in at the Cerulean City Pokemon Center. We’ll leave them alone for a 
while. Until then, I want you to bring me Blaine, Bonnie Birch, and Sabrina.” 
He commanded.
       Jake turned and walked to the exit. “Brooks…” Giovanni tossed him a GS 
Ball. Inside was Hellfire; Giovanni’s trusted Ho-oh clone. “…take Hellfire 
with you. He’ll obey your commands.” 
       Jake nodded and left.
       
       Cerulean City
       
       Ben sat beside Cable’s bed. He couldn’t believe that he had just 
watched Jake try to kill him. Ben looked over and saw two belts hanging from 
a hook in the hospital room closet. He went over and examined the belt, and 
noticed Jake’s pokeballs were hanging from it.
       “I copped Jake’s pokeballs when he had me in that death grip.” 
       Ben whirled around, and saw Cable trying to sit up. “Lay down, you 
damned fool.” Ben said forcing him to lie back down.
       “That wasn’t Jake. There was no way that that monstrosity could have 
been my baby brother.” Cable choked.
       “Cable, I’m sorry to say, but I honestly think that that was Jake.” 
Ben’s voice was stern. “He may have actually turned on us.”
       “But he used Vinewhip. Only pokemon can use Vinewhip.” Cable couldn’t 
believe what he was hearing.
       “I know. But there was just something in the ruthlessness, the way he 
attacked you, and only you.” Ben paused for a moment. “He must have really 
turned on us all.”
       
       Titan IV
       
       Jake released Hellfire from his pokeball. 
       =You must be Delta One-Nine.= He said coolly, 
       “I am, and you’re going to help me.” Jake replied with the same cool, 
and collected voice.
       =Very well.= Hellfire answered.
