“Mom, I’m home!” Ash bellows from the doorway, kicking his running shoes off.

“Ash, dinner will be ready in ten minutes!” Delia yells back from the kitchen.

Ash takes off his hat and sniffs the air, “Are we having pork chops?” said Ash, walking into the kitchen.

“Yes, honey. Set the table up, will you?” Delia said, pouring some soy sauce on the pork chops.

“Sure thing.” Ash then jogs to the dinning room and sets the table. Sure to be quick Ash then runs up to his room and looks at his calendar.  Saturday already, my last school-free week is over! Crud!  The only good thing about this last summer week is I am getting my first Pokemon tomorrow! Ha! Ash smiles at the thought of his first Pokemon, he had always dreamt of himself being the Pokemon Master, and he needs Pokemon to accomplish that goal. Ash loves to be friends with Pokemon so he just jumps into their emotions, ready to do anything they need. He’s sworn that he’ll be friends with every Pokemon he comes across, no matter how evil because deep down no one is bad, so why should it be any different from humans.

“Dinner’s ready!” Delia shouts from down in the dinning room.

That cracks Ash out of his thoughts, “Coming!” Ash runs out of his room and down the stairway, he jumps the last five step of the staircase and lands with a loud THUMP!

“So Ash, are excited about getting your first Pokemon?” Delia asks him as they sit down and start to eat.

“You bet! I can’t wait to get my first Pokemon from Professor Oak.” Ash said, aiming his fork for the pork chops and stuffing it down his mouth.

“Doh!”

        “Dri!”

        “Oh!”

A Dodrio shrieks its penetrating voice, waking everybody up from their beauty sleep and bringing them into another day of life, no matter how much they cursed, yelled, or complained.

The sleepy Ash suddenly shoots up from his bed, “What time it is?!” He asks himself frantically. He turns to the broken Voltorb alarm clock and leaps out of the bed and runs down stairs.

Ash runs all the way to Professor Oak’s lab, while still wearing his pajamas. “Professor Oak, can I have my first Pokemon?” Ash asks, panting from the run.

        Your Pokemon?”

        “Uh-huh!”

“You don’t look like you’re ready for Pokemon training, you look like you’re ready for bed.”

“I know; I overslept! Please can I have my first Pokemon?!”

“Very well, follow me.” The professor said.

They walk in Professor Oak’s home, which is also his research center.

“After all night of thinking, I’ve decided to choose my first Pokemon as Charmander!” Ash pops open the pokeball, expecting a bright orange Pokemon with a flame on its tail to come out. But noting comes out.

        “Wha?”

“The early bird gets the worm, or in this case, the Pokemon.” Professor Oak says.

Ash sighs, disappointed that he could not get Charmander. “Okay then, I choose Squirtle!” Again nothing comes out from the pokeball.

“Also taken by someone who was on time.”

“Fine then! Bulbasaur!” Same thing. “Aww…Professor, isn’t there anymore Pokemon for me.”

        “Well…there is one…”

“Professor, I’ll take it!” The professor presses a big red button, and a small hole opens, revealing a pokeball. Oak hands it to Ash.

“I do warn you about this one though…”

“Pokeball go!” Ash yells, completely ignoring the professor. And out pops a cute bundle of golden fur, bright red cheeks, and adorable little black eyes, each with a tint of brown.

        “Ash, meet Pikachu.”

“Aww…it’s so cute! It’s the best one there is!” Ash picks up Pikachu and starts swinging him around. Bad idea. A bolt of thunder leaves Pikachu’s peeved body and mind and surrounds Ash in electricity. Frying him.

“I warned you.”

“I see what you mean.”

“Now, Ash, here are your pokeballs and Pokedex. You’ll need them to train and to be—!” Another bolt of electricity leaves Pikachu, this time frying them both……...

“Oh, my little Ashy-boy is finally growing up…now I packed, a pair of rubber gloves-incase you need to wash your clothes or do dishes, extra underwear, jeans, shirts, socks, hot chocolate-incase you get cold, a clothes line to let your laundry dry, a—!”

“Mom, you’re embarrassing me!”

“Is that your first Pokemon?” Delia pointed to the ground at Pikachu.

“Yup and with Pikachu by my side, I’ll be the best Pokemon Master!” Ash yells with determination ………

Ash is underwater being pulled downstream, clutching his Pikachu who’s in bad condition, when suddenly a fishing rod pulls him out of the water.

A girl with a red-orange hair asks him with concern, “Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I think so.” Ash responses.

“Not you! The Pokemon!” The girl yells.

“Oh…” Ash gazes down in concern to his Pikachu, whose breathing doesn’t sound too good.

“There’s a hospital not far from here, get up and go!”

        “A hospital for Pokemon?”

        “Yes, now go!”

Ash jumps on the girl’s bike and peddles off as fast as he can! “I’ll give it back someday!”……………

“Ash, hold on!” A teen calls.

Ash turns his head, “Oh, Brock, what are you doing here?”

“Here,” Brock puts his palm out, and there is a badge in it, “The Bolder Badge, you earned it.”

“But, I didn’t earn it.” Ash stutters.

“Yes you did, you beat me in being kind to all Pokemon, and for that, you earned this badge.”

        “Wow…”

“Ash! I have a dream, I want you to fulfill it for me—!”

“No, Brock, you need to fulfill your own dreams, you need to get out and do it your way.”

“Huh?!” Brock and Ash turn around and see a mysterious man walking up to them. The man removes his fake beard and hat.

        “Dad!” Brock says very sternly.

“I’m sorry, Brock. I have failed in being a father and a Pokemon master. I want you to go out on your own, I’ll stay here and take care of the kids.

        “Dad…”

“I know Brock, this must be very sudden for you.”

“No, I just need to give you instructions. Susie always rips her dress so you need to sew it up for her………

“I challenge you to a gym battle, for the Cascade badge!” Ash said.

“No way, we just like lost to these three kids from this nowhere place called Pallet.” A beautiful girl said, standing between two other beautiful girls.

“What, that means Gary is already here?”

“We know what you want…” One of the girls, the one with the blonde hair clapped her hands twice and a Seal rose to the surface. “Like, just take it.” She said, holding out her hand and revealing a Cascade badge.

“But…”

“Just take it.” Ash starts to reach for it when Misty comes charging down the bleachers.

“If you don’t fight him, I will!”

“Misty, what are you doing here?!”

“I am also a gym leader of the Cerulean City gym, and I am the fourth sister of the Sensational Sisters.” Misty said.

“No, she is just a runt.” The sensational sisters said ………

“Prepare for trouble”

“Make it double”

“To protect the world from devastation”

“To unit all people within our nation”

“To denounce the evils of truth and love”

“To extend our reach to the stars above”

“Jessie”

“James”

“Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light”

“Surrender now, or prepare to fight”

“Meowth, that’s right”

“Now hand over you Pokemon!” Meowth yells.

“When you guys ever learn? Pikachu, Thunder Bolt!”

“Team Rocket is blasting off again!” The three figures flies across the sky ………

“Oh, no! Why’d it have to rain?!” Misty screeches out as she protected Togepi and looked around for anywhere safe and dry.

“There!” Ash yells whilst he pointed at an old building that was somewhat in the shape of castle. Misty, Brock, and Ash sprints up to the building.

“Wow…it’s kinda creepy looking…” Misty exclaims.

“So what, let’s just get out of this rain!” Ash retorts as he pounds the two rusty old doors open.

Brock, Ash, and Misty topples in one after the other and gazes around at all the antiques and pottery.

“Hello! Is anyone home?” Brock shouts and hears his echo return to him without another noise or sign of reply.

Ash sighs. “Well, I guess we’ll have to stay here tonight, seeing that no one is using it.”

        “Pi…pika…”

        “Pi…pika…”

“Look! There are two Pikachu!” Brock exclaims.

“Awww…how cute!” Misty shrieks as she picked one up, well unaware that it wasn’t a Pikachu. “Ugh!”

“Waz’ the matter, Misty?” Ash says.

“That,” Misty says as she points to the floor at the Pikachu she had previously picked up, “there’s something wrong with that Pikachu!”

“Hmm…you’re right!” Ash says in awe as he stared at two dots where the eyes should’ve been.

“Maybe it’s a new breed?” Brock suggests.

“Right! And I’m gonna catch it!” Ash yells as he pulls out a pokeball. “Pokeball, GO!” Ash hurls the pokeball into the air, towards the odd Pikachu. But another pokeball slams into it! “Wha?!”

“I’m Ash Ketchum, from the town of Pallet.” An identical boy stood across from Ash.

“Who’s he?!” Ash roars out in utter confusion and anger.

        “Except it’s a she. Hmm…” Brock muttered.

        “How’d you know?” Misty asks.

        “Men’s intuition.”

“Who are you and why do you look like me?!!!” Ash yells.

        “I’m you!”

        “Wha?”

“Kidding…actually I’m Duplica and this is my Ditto!” Her hand gestured to the odd Pikachu…………..

“Ash, Ash! Wake up.” Misty shakes the unconscious Ash. “Ash, you can’t die yet!” Misty said as tears moisten her eyes.

Ash turns from the scene on the floor to Gastly, Hunter, and Gengar, “I’d love to stay and play with you guys, but I have to go back to my friends.” He and Pikachu flies down the room where their own bodies lay unconscious and straight into the comfort of their own bodies.

Both Ash and Pikachu stir and their eyes snap open. “You’re alive!” Misty cries out of joy, tiny tears hanging at the side of her eyes, Misty wiped them away; embarrassed to be seen crying. She felt a tint of heat rise to her face as a shade of pink shown on her face………

“You know Professor Oak?!” A kid older and taller than Ash, probably sixteen years old exclaims.

“Yes, is that a big deal?” Ash asks.

The boy cries out in excitement. “Big deal? Of course! I am joining your team so I could meet the famous Professor Oak!”

“You can’t just invite yourself into the group!” Misty yells….

“Ash, you have lost to Team Rocket, so say your last words because you are about to breathe your last breath.” Ash’s elbows are buried into the soil and someone stands over him. Ash could feel the heat from the gaze that the man gave him and he tried to gawk back at the obscure figure’s features, but the pain was unbearable.  Everything is turning black………

“Doh!”

        “Tri!”

        “Oh!”

A Dodrio shrieks its shrill voice, waking everybody up their beauty sleep and bringing them into another day of life.

“Ah!” Ash wakes up. He turns and looks at his alarm clock, which reads 10:20. “I am late!” He quickly gets up and runs down the stair. Okay, how come this is so familiar?

Ash rushes back to his room.  He glances at the poster taped on the wall of his room, on it there is a Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and a Pikachu at the middle. He focuses on the Pikachu. Ash scratched the back of his head.  Hold on, wait, was that a dream? It felt so real. Ash shrugs and starts getting dress. I probably watched to manly cartoons or something. But, but the characters and the Pokemon seemed so real. Ash silently debates with himself.

He runs down the stair, it got to be a coincidence. Passing the kitchen, he sees a ketchup bottle on the counter.  Remembering that in the dream he got zapped by Pikachu, and how Pikachu had liked ketchup, he picks the ketchup bottle up. Just in case, he thought.
