I know I forgot the disclaimer last time, but this time I've put it on. I don't own pokemon, never claimed to or said I am Nintendo or what not. So now on with the reading! *The next day.... * PS I'm changing this to Misty's/Mike's p.o.v. "You can chose between these six pokemon," Professor Oak told us. (For those of you completely lost, see chapter 1 for why Misty isn't able to be a trainer.) "You can go first Mike," Ash said, wanting to get the upper edge, I could tell. I gave myself the name Mike and hoped it would be enough like Misty so that I would answer to it. "Thanks," I said, "but I'm still not sure what I want. Professor, what kind are these again?" I had told them that I was my in-existent brother. But they still didn't know I didn't have a brother. "There's a cyndaquil, chikorita, totodile, eevee, bulbasaur, and pikachu. Cyndaqul, chikorita, and totodile are the new ones that just came in." "But I thought you said you didn't have any more," Ash said picking up a pokeball. "I didn't. My grandson had just shipped some in, hearing that I needed some more beginning pokemon," the professor said. Ash was just about to burst now. "He probably just wanted to give me one of his weakest pokemon so he could show off and embarrass me." "Well then, why don't you take one of his 'weak pokemon' and make it stronger enough to beat his strongest?" I said. I picked up the pokeball with a leaf on it and threw it. The pokeball was empty. "Um.... Professor, this one doesn't have anything in it. "Oh, yes, I forgot to tell you. I had some more beginning trainers come in earlier," professor Oak said, fiddling with something that looked like a calculator. "What?!" Ash and I both said. "But I made sure there were two left, so don't worry." Ash and I glanced at each other and we both made a dive for the balls. I grabbed three, including the one I had opened before. Ash got the other three. It was an unsaid mutual agreement that if one of us got the last two, we got the first pick. We both got a pokeball with one in it. We decided to throw them out at the same time, with professor Oak counting us off. "Eevee!" a shrill voice said from Ash's. "Pika!" a voice said from mine. Once the pokemon materialized, the eevee ran to me, and the pikachu ran to Ash, but only to shock him. I started to laugh at Ash, until his eevee tackled me. I picked up the eevee's pokeball, about to call it back, while Ash had the same idea about Pikachu. We tried to return them, except they wouldn't go back in. Finally, when we got them back in, we got shooed out the door because the professor had some 'business' to discuss with a man in an expensive black Italian suit, followed by a boy my age. Ash is about a year older than me. Ash handed me back pikachu while I handed him back his eevee. We sat down on the stairs, not saying anything, lost in our own thoughts. At least until a boy with rusty colored hair showed up and broke our thoughts. "Well well well. Look at little Ashley. Are you gonna try for the league, or are you just gonna stay in Pallet your whole life?" he asked. "Hi Gary," was all that Ash said. Now don't get me wrong. I don't usually judge people after meeting them a few times, but I had figured that Ash was a talkative, energetic kid. So I decided to throw my two cents in. "Are you okay? You seem like you're depressed." If looks could kill, I would've dropped dead right there from the look he gave me. He stood up, grabbed my arm and took me over to a large tree in front of the laboratory. "Listen, I'm not going to go into all of the details, but Gary and I used to be friends, that is until we became competitive over a girl." I had to bite my tongue not to say something for fear of getting hit. He was mad right about now. "And now that I've got my first pokemon, that doesn't obey me, and doesn't like people, seeing him right now doesn't make my day. Got it? So don't even mention the pokemon problem." "And make me look like a fool as well? That pikachu doesn't listen to me, just like your eevee," I said over my shoulder. And of course I wasn't looking were I was going, so I bumped into someone, falling down and making a fool of myself. "Sorry," the person said, extending their arm to help me up. "It's all right," I said getting up and brushing myself off. When I actually looked up at the person who had helped me. He was as tall as Ash, about 4 or 5 inches taller than me, with light green hair that fell lazily over one eye, and some of the greenest eyes you have ever seen. I had to look at the ground and pull my cap down over my eyes, so no one could see my checks. I know I was blushing, but I couldn't help it. That was what my sister would call, the beginning of a crush. I hoped not, because if it was and I saw him again, I knew my cover would be blown. "I hope I didn't hurt you," he said, leaning over to get a better look at my face. He then said something unexpected that I didn't see coming. "You look like a friend of mine. Would you happen to be related to a girl named Misty?" That was right outta left field, I thought. My throat was closed and I'm very grateful to Ash for what happened next. "Oh yeah, well at least I'm not as egotistical as you Gary!" he yelled. "Well, at least I got outta the house before I turned 16!" Gary yelled back. I sighed, grabbing Ash by the collar and led him away. "Will you grow up?" I sighed, letting go of his collar. "Me, it was Gary who started it," he said crossing his arms and turning away from me. I threw up my hands and headed towards the Pokemon Center. I heard Ash running after me. When he caught up he asked me whether we're a team or not. "We're a team. I guess." "Okay. Where are we going?" he asked, staring at me like I knew how the whole trip would go. "To the pokemon center." "All right," He said. So, how'd ya like it? I think in the next chapter, I'm think I'm gonna switch to Ash's p.o.v. E-mail with what you think. And should the green haired dude keep showing up on a regular basis? And if so, what should his name be? Should Team Rocket still be 'bumbling fools'? Or should they be the cool, decent working thieves? Any and all questions, comments, criticism like e-mails will be read and replied to. Thanks! ^_^
