Okay, once again, I'm getting side tracked. But I just read this book about werewolves and just couldn't get it out of my head. It'll be in chapters, might get a bit confusing, and I'll explain more as the chapters come. This is just a prologue. Moonlights Shining Prologue: Cubs and children "Ash, go on now. Go play with your friends, mommy has some work to do," said a young lady with brown hair tied loosely in a ponytail, to a boy with midnight black hair that seemed about 3. Her life had just taken a turn for the worse. Last month, she had found out that her husband had just been killed at sea. She knew that marrying a sailor this might happen. Especially one who always took dangers he didn't need. That was probably one of the things that made her attracted to him in the first place. That, and the way he looked at her when they were still in elementary school, the one that lasted, even as he boarded the S. S. Delia. But now, she was widowed at 22, with a 3 year old, and in desperate need of a job. This would be one of the few times she would be able to relax. She closed her eyes, searching for some refuge in the darkness. Ash slowly walked over to where his "friends", as his mother called them, sat playing. "Hey, Ash. I heard about what happened. I'm sorry," Gary Oak, one of the few kids who had the same ambition about pokemon as he did. "Thanks," Ash said, grinning a little at Gary. Suddenly, Gary's mother saw them talking and called Gary over, saying it was time for dinner. "I got to go," Gary said, looking at his mother and back to Ash. "It's okay. See you later," Ash said. Even for his age, he could tell that it wasn't dinner, or anytime to eat. Ash slowly got up heading over to a few of the trees that lined the park. He heard a whimpering in the bushes and went to investigate. He saw a small dog that looked nothing like the growlithe he had seen at the fair. Instead of being red and having a mane of fire, this was gray with a blue right eye and a green left. It had a tail that was like a meowth's but instead of curling at the end, it just came to a point and was the same color as the rest of its fur. It had no name, nor did it look like any of the pokemon his father had told him about before he left. The dog looked back at him, and yipped, playfully biting his heels. Ash let out a small yell, but seeing that it only wanted to play, started chasing it. It ran but when Ash tagged it, turned around and started chasing Ash. This went on for a while, until Ash tripped over a rock, and the pup fell onto it. This started a series of yelling and whining. Mrs. Ketchum's eyes fell open as she jumped to her feet, quickly looking around (the one where they move their heads left then immediately right). She ran towards the source, and seeing Ash, a pup, and a larger version of the pup running towards them like she was, gave her all the more speed. She quickly picked Ash up, as did the wolf (aka the larger version of the pup). They stared at each other, neither blinking of moving an inch. The pup and child both silenced themselves, sensing they wouldn't be seeing much of each other. After the mother's staring contest, they both turned around, knowing the other wouldn't attack for the sake of their child. ____________________________________ Comments, criticism, suggestions, any thing will be helpful. But don't flame me, I may not have a water pokemon, but I've got a mean stantler and umbreon. Thank you, come again!
