============================================================= The Awakened Monster - A Transformation Beyond All Before ============================================================= Part 1 - Joy, Joy, All Around Well, with the shiny sun and brilliant sky, Professor Samuel Oak, the greatest pokemon researcher in the world, went on his morning duties to collect the droppings of all the pokemon in his care. Gary, his grandson, pokemon master extraordinaire, helped him with his chores, quiet as a mouse. It was strange how he had returned the previous night. The rain was pouring fiercely, Professor Oak and Tracey were ready to go to sleep when someone knocked on the door. As he went to the window to investigate who it was, the darkness shadowed the figure's features. As a cautionary step, he told Tracey to get a pokemon for protection. A lightning flashed which scared the wits out of him and he noticed the gray coat which seemed tattered and in pieces. "Gary." Was all he could make out before he ran to open for his nephew. As he opened the door, Gary collapsed on top of him, looking half-dead. Gary had caught a cold from the storm and he had nursed him until two o'clock before Tracey told him that he would take over. "So, Gary, do you want to talk about why came here in the middle of the night?" He just turned away. "I see. Well, when you're ready." He nodded not looking his way. "Professor Oak! Gary! You guys better come take a look at this!" Inside the house, Tracey turned up the volume of the television set. The news camera focused on a reporter with the background of Indigo Plateau. "Hello, this is Anna Morris, from channel 13 news. This morning may seem like a normal one but it is far from normal, as you can see behind me, is Indigo Plateau. What's strange about this is that a pokemon dressed in ancient looking garments is announcing that its wants to challenge all pokemon masters to a battle to become master of the world. It may seem crazy for a pokemon to talk but it is true. The camera changed angles to see a red colored pokemon with glaring black eyes. "All masters of the world, I have beaten your precious pokemon master with ease. Now I feel generous and will spare your little planet if there is but one pokemon master worth living here. And believe me, I do have the power to destroy all of you." It rose its hands and the earth began to quake. The camera suddenly came to a crash. Gary turned of the tv and turned to face the stunned Professor Oak and Tracey. He sighed and was about to say something when the earth began to rumble so much that many items fell around the house, books, pictures, cups. "This is crazy the Indigo Plateau is at least 200 almost 300 miles away, this earth quake can't possibly the same." Gary shook his head gravely. "I'm afraid this is it." Gary stated. "It told me this yesterday when it beat me in a battle and I was casted out." Tracey and Professor Oak just stayed quiet pondering over the events. Then Professor Oak said. "It seems that pokemon has an enormous amount of power for an earthquake like that." "No." Gary closed his eyes. "He's not a rock type, he's a fire type." "But didn't you feel the earthquake?" "Yes, but he's not a rock type. He's fire, I know, I fought him." "Well, this is a weird predicament." The phone rang and Tracey went to pick it up. "Hmm, there must be something we can do to stop this." Tracey came running back. "Professor, its pokemon society, they need your assessment of the pokemon on tv." "There's not much to go on though." As Professor Oak left, Gary looked up at Tracey. "Where's Ash?" "Ash? He's at his house of course." "Home?" "Yeah, after the championship, he decided that he needed to do some serious training and put off his adventuring for a while. Why?" "Nothing. Well, I gotta go. I need to go ask a favor of friend." "Okay, bye." He waved. "A friend huh?" Professor Oak walked in the next minute. "Where's Gary?" "He went to ask Ash something." "Okay, when he comes back, tell him I wanna see him in my office." Delilah and Ash were planning to take the day off but instead went back to their usual gardening. Even though Ash had hated to help with the gardening when he was small, he somehow found a satisfaction that he had never felt before when he helped. Gary watched as Ash took off his gloves. "Yo Ash!" He looked over and saw Gary. "Wa? What are you doing here?" "Well, have you watched the tv lately?" "Oh, no. Mom and I have been gardening since early this morning." "Well, didn't you notice the earthquake just a few minutes ago?" "Earthquake? What are you talking about?" "You know, the earthquake?" "No, there's been nothing like that, ever, now that think about it." "Well, anyways, I need to ask you something." "What?" "Well, its...I need your help in a battle." "Me? But why? You're the pokemon master." "That's it Ash, there's a pokemon monster that has taken over the Indigo Plateau and is threatening to destroy the whole world." He looked at Gary with unbelieving eyes and shook his head. "Did you eat something bad yesterday for dinner and dreamt this all up?" "What? What are you talking about?! There's really a monster and he's challenging everyone for a match. Grampas' lab is almost totalled from the earthquake that it sent. He is red all over and has this evil looking black eyes." Delilah jumped a little. "Whatever but I'll come take a look. Mom, I'm going. Pikachu let's go buddy!" Ash waved. Delilah smiled and waved. "Bye honey, be careful." "I will." Delilah began to frown as they left. "He's back but how?" === Ash and Gary walked along to the lab. When they reached there, the place was pretty shakened and had a large crack on its building structure. "What happened here?" Stared a wide-eyed Ash with his jaw on the ground. "I told you so." Professor Oak met Ash and Gary at the door. "Gary, I need you to identify the pokemon, I think I found it." They followed professor Oak to a section of the lab that they have never seen before. "What is this place?" The area was dirty and dusty and in need of some serious cleaning. "When I saw it on the tv, I thought it looked familiar so I checked in here, and I think I found it. So is this it?" Gary and the others saw the pokemon from tv. "Yeah, that's the weird pokemon, but wait, its missing something." Gary stated. "I remembered it had two scar his right arm, one on his left, and there was a ring around his neck." "So, its him after all." "Professor?" Tracey questioned. "Nothing." Samuel looked over to Ash. "Has your mother heard any of this?" "Only what Gary mentioned. About the earthquake, the plateau, and the pokemon." "So, she knows too." He sighed and looked at the floor. "Ash, what has your mother told you about your father?" "Uh, nothing really. Just that he was a great pokemon trainer." "Yes, he was. Probably still be the master if he hadn't passed away." "Ash." Gary said. "We need to stop that thing before anyone gets hurt so are you with me?" "Sure. Let's go take that thing down. It sounds so terrible that it needs to be stopped and right away." "No, you can't, you're both not strong enough as trainers. We're going to need special help from some people." The door opened. "Professor, we need to act now if we plan to stop it." Ash looked at his mother. She was dressed in tight jeans and wore a short green shirt that seem to reveal a lot and had a pokemon cap of a weird symbol that he had never seen. She also had a pokemon belt around her waist with a full set attached. "Mom?" "Yes honey." Gary and Tracey seem to be in Brock mode at that moment and Ash could see it from Brock's constant behavior and karate chopped the two with a few quick flicks of his hands. "Delilah, do you have Kevin's number?" "Yes, I have all of them, just let me get my address book." She pulled out an old looking box and opened it. A automated voice said. "This pokedex is property of Oak Incorporated, any tampering, misuse or hacking will be in violation of the rules and regulations and you will be infringed upon. The owner of this pokedex is Miss Delilah Annanasterson. Please return it to her if you find it. Please select desired operation." "Okay. Kevin's number is 3169-1557-6168." The door rang and everyone except Professor Oak went to see who it was. At the door was a tall male about six feet almost seven feet and he wore black pants and dark orange shirt and a cap with the same weird symbol that Ash's mom had on hers. "Kevin?" "You rang?" "Guess who too?" "Wendy?" "Hi ya all!" "Eric?" "Hey, what about me?" "Penny? You're all here?" "Of course, after we heard about it on the tv, we came on the first train." "Mom? Who are these people?" "Mom?" The group of strangers questioned. "Well, you see, Zero and I, well, we were young. We didn't think of the consequences." "Ahh." Said the group and began to laugh while Delilah stood with her face red and just crossed her arms. "So...this is Zero's boy huh? He's kind of small isn't he?" "Small?!" Yelled Ash. "I don't know who you are but you're pretty rude aren't you!" Kevin laughed and messed up Ash's hair. "Yup, this is definitely Zero's kid. The same spark is there that Zero had." "Delilah, it seems I can't contact Kevin or anyone else, its says that the service is out of range but that can't be possible." Professor Oak walked in fiddling with the old pokedex. "Unless." He looked up to see the group. "They are very close." === The meeting in lab quickly went to the living room where they were going to make a plan on how to beat the monsterous pokemon. The tv was left on with volume down just in case anything else about the pokemon on. Ever since the last broadcast, the reporters didn't dare go near and most of the news was by helicopter which wasn't very helpful. In all the craziness that's gone on, Misty, Brock, and Kimi came over which gave they began their own talk in the family room. "So what kind of pokemon is this?" Brock asked. "Its a fire." Gary stated. "Good, that means that my pokemon would work best against it." Said Misty "Yeah, my pokemon can battle them too." Stated Brock and Kimi. "You're all wrong." Eric looked over the group. "This pokemon has no overall trait, its an unknown." "Unknown?" "It can change anything and everything on it has from its body to its specialty attacks. Don't think that just because you have strong pokemon that you can truely win against it. You can't." "We won't let you." "You got that young man!" Ash's mom yelled. "Yes, mom." "That goes for the rest of you too. You haven't faced anything like this before. Don't try to be heroes when it could mean your death." Stated Kevin. "A-" Penny interrupted. "Don't you think you're being a little to harsh on them honey." "Honey?" Delilah questioned. "Oh yeah, we forgot to tell you. Well, you and Zero weren't the only young people there. Me and Wendy got together after the group split. Apparently, so did Penny and Kevin." Stated Eric. " What a coincidence huh? You and Zero, Me and Wendy, Kevin and Penny, and Derek and Elise." "Say, where are those two? Derek and Elise?" Delilah bowed her head. "They died about ten years ago, it was raining hard, there was an car accident, no one survived the crash. It was mentioned in the paper that the tires of both the cars had lost traction in the rain and collided." "So that's what happened to them grandpa?" Gary asked silently with a tear in his eyes. "Grandpa?" "Yes, Gary is Derek's son. Their daughter May is at school right now so I didn't want alarm her of anything." "Um, Mrs. Ketchum, what newspaper was it published in?" "The Viridian Times." "I thought so..." "What is it, Dear?" "I think my parents were in the other car." "What?" "Yeah, about ten years ago, my parents died in a horrible car accident. My sisters have been taking care of me for the last ten years." "Hmm. This seems like more than a coincidence." Ash muttered. "What was that Ash honey." "What? Oh, nothing." Kevin looked up at the clock on the wall. "Its getting late, we'd better get hotel room." "What? No, stay at my house, it may seem small but it can fit us all." "How many rooms do you have?" "Three guest rooms free. Just perfect for three couples." "Well, we should continue this in the morning." Professor Oak stated. "Professor Oak, do you have an extra room here?" Asked both Kevin and Ash. "Honey?" Both Delilah and Penny questioned. "Its all right. I need to talk to Professor Oak." Kevin stated to his wife. "I also need to talk with them too." "All right." Delilah smiled and kissed him on the forehead. "Goodnight." "Night, mom." "Goodnight everyone." Professor Oak said as everyone left. When he closed the door, Ash stood in front of him and Kevin. "Yes Ash? You wanted to know something?" "What happened, to my father?" "Well, that's a long story." "I thought as much, that's why I'm here." "This is going to be a long night." Kevin groaned. "Tell me about it." The midnight oil burnt long as Professor Oak and Kevin told the events of the demise of Ash's father, Zero. "So...my father was a pokemon master huh? Then, why isn't he in the hall of fame?" "The day the monster pokemon attacked was the day he was going to be put in. Even after the monster was destroyed, the league refused to input his name because they didn't want to tell the whole world that the reigning pokemon master had been killed by a pokemon. Its been a secret ever since. No one could talk about it but now, I wonder what they're going to tell the public after that world announcement." "Its pretty much passed your curfew so you should at least try to get some sleep before dawn Ash." "No, there's one other thing I need to ask." "What is it?" "I need you to look up deemon." "Deemon?" "Yeah, its been ringing in my mind for some reason. I don't even know where its coming from either. I know the word and yet I have never heard of it before." "Okay Ash." He got up and went to sleep. Kevin looked at Ash and the back at Professor Oak. "He's really just like Zero in every way. I wonder how Delilah has been dealing with him all these years. It must be painful to have a reminder like him but I guess it is nice that he's here too." He sighed. "Now to business. There must be a better way to kill him." _______________________________________________________________________________________ Well, how's the story so far?
