The small mass of people in the town worked greatly to make their small farming lands to raise their sons, daughters, and pokemon to live in peace. Even though many of the children grew up to move out into the world and make their proud parents even prouder. Most numbers, however, returned home after giving up and following in their fathers' and mothers' footsteps. To grow into adulthood and watch their children grow to up, with hope and pride that maybe one of theirs would make it where they had failed. Generation after generation, children of Pallet, set out to fulfill their dreams of making themselves pokemon masters, the greatest achievement a trainer could receive. And, as many expected, that day soon arrived when all their hopes were set on the grandson of the great pokemon researcher ever, Garick Oak. His knowledge, skill, and hard-working attitude assumed from his grandfather, it was not unexpected that he should be the first to become a pokemon master. Of course, after that startling victory, his fame grew and so did Pallets'. People began moving from big cities and over seas to live in the small town that could raise one of the world's finest pokemon masters. But the untold story here is, Gary's opponent, Ash Ketchum, who had made his way to the highest pokemon ranks only to be shot down by his rival. Most knew Ash, and thought that maybe he was to try at the mastery again but were quite dumbfounded to find that the young man had no indications of retrying. In his room, laying quietly looking at the ceiling, in hard thought. Ash flashing back to the pokemon league tournament that was for him to become a pokemon master. --- The roar of the crowd ahead as he and Pikachu, on his shoulder, proceeded to the main arena where he faced Gary. His long time rival had met him face to face, their eyes locked on each other. And as if telepathically, they spoke to each other, agreeing that this was to be the final match between them in league competition. Each of them nodded, proceeding to get up on the platform where they would battle. Starting pokemon were their weakest as they both knew, trying to conceal their best until the very end. But Ash started off rocky with his first and second pokemon, Heracross and Noctowl defeated easily by Gary's rather large Arcanine. Being stubborn and slightly angered, sent out his fully-evolved Totodile, drenching the fire pokemon into a pile under Gary's platform. Thanking the pokemon for a great job, Gary's next pokemon a Nidoking barged at the water pokemon but was surprised by the blast of a hydro-pump attack and a bite attack that made quick work of it. The battle ensured now, both Ash and Gary made sure to pick the correct pokemon with type, level, and physical strength advantages. Only two of Gary's and Ash's Pikachu were left at the end with Gary's Gyarados looking not so well. With the fresh pokemon, Pikachu attacked with a quick thunderbolt knocking down the pokemon that was ten times larger than it. Now, it was between Pikachu and as Ash guessed, Umbreon. A few kisses from Gary onto the pokeball and Ash a little annoyed at Gary, the pokemon appeared in the flash of red light. Determination on both trainer's faces as they faced off. "Pikachu, Thunder!" His finger point straight at the Umbreon. Gary also, pointed to Pikachu ordering a Psychic attack. The two pokemon attacks met and blew both further from each other, each looking just fine. Struggling between which pokemon had more endurance as both seem to be equally matched in level. Battle took a very, very long time as both pokemon didn't want to give up. Only when Ash decided to take a strong offensive and use a special technique that after several weeks of trying and perfecting it, did the battle come to a small close. "Pikachu, Double Team, and...Power Increase!" Gary and the rest of the crowd were bewildered by the different tactic, but the results were astonishing. First the double-team started but a golden glow from the real Pikachu and the whole entire arena was filled with a least five hundred Pikachus. "Now, begin thundershock!" Like a sight the crowd wouldn't normally see from event like this but in a large circus act, the many pikachus were all attacking Gary's Umbreon with thundershock and making it seem more like a thunder attack from a raichu. The generating electricity was amazing and knowing that even though there weren't a lot of pikachus, the amount was just the same, clouds formed above. Ash getting ready to attack the Umbreon, he looked over to see that it was in no condition to take the next hit. "No Ash. Don't!" Screamed a voice over the crowd. He looked to see Misty shouting and just nodded understanding. "Pikachu stop! Redirect the lightning!" Pikachu looked over at Umbreon and stopped in its attack. It nodded to Ash and flared up with electricity. A moment later, a lightning bolt the size of Ash's fist came striking down but was stopped in mid-air by Pikachu's thunder attack. After the cloud dissipated, Ash looked to Gary and the battle resumed, although Gary knew that the attack that large, it would have permanently fainted Umbreon. With Pikachu tired from so much energy and electricity usuage, Gary ordered a tackle attack, taking it down without much effort. Ash just smiled, picked up Pikachu into his arms, and departed to get it healed. Gary watched Ash out of the corner of his eye as he was swamped by reporters. --- He turned over and looked over to Pikachu resting in a small pokebed. Ugggg, growled his stomach. There was a knock at the door and in came Misty with a tray of sandwiches. "I thought I heard your tummy growling so I brought you some ham sandwiches." He smiled sweetly. "Thanks Misty." Pikachu lifted its head, hearing Misty come in but didn't get up until it smelled food... After scarfing down the food at an unbelievable rate, he laid on his back again and took a quick look around the room. The mess in the corner was his dirty clothes, the pictures of various pokemon he had hanging on the walls, the broken alarm clock on the table next to him. The flashback of his rookie days came flooding back, he giggled. Misty turned her attention away from her own daydream to Ash, looking at him, wondering what he was giggling about that he 'actually' giggled. "What are you so happy about?" Ash smiled at her. "Oh, just a few things." "Like what?" She asked with a considerable amount of interest. Ash snickered again. "Oh just, well, wouldn't you like to know?" He joked. "What's with this sudden burst of wanting to know? Huh?" "Well excuse me for listening in on your little giggle, Mr. I wish I was a pokemon master like Gary Oak. Oooh." Faking a cry. "But I just wanted to know just a little bit about it." Her nostrils flared. "Misty, you know perfectly well that I could have taken down Gary with that one blow! Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if I took out all his pokemon out!" Ash stated, angered. He was about to comment with another amazing remark but she glared at him. "If you think you can beat Gary so much, why don't you?!" "Bec-because, because, well just because! Its a guy thing, you wouldn't understand!" He turned away from just as she did him. A long silence. "And another-" They were about to add-on but just froze, inches away from each other, their eyes fixed on each other. They smiled crookedly and turned away again. They silently sighed. "So...what were we fighting about?" Ash questioned. Misty was about to answer when he remembered. "So...do you still wanna know?" Misty peered over to face him. "Well?" "Yeah, okay." She responded. He laid down. "Well, I was just remembering about the day I started pokemon training." "That's it? We fought over that? What a stupid reason." "Heee. Well, we've fought over for other smaller reasons than this. But thinking about that, everytime we've fought, its been over stupid reasons. Like if I got us lost or because of that bi-..er, um, the map..." He sweatdropped, hoping, just praying she did not catch on. No such luck. "My bike! You still owe me a bike! You promised me you would pay me back once you were a pokemon master, and now that you've obviously quit, I guess I'll never get one!" She sighed. "I never should have listened to you in the first place!" "Me?? You're the one who followed me, and if you hadn't, you wouldn't have gone on such a great adventure." "That could have almost killed me!" "Well, there's always danger out in the wilderness!" "At least I'd be smart enough to stay close to a pokemon center! I mean, my hair was always such a mess in the mornings because you wanted to camp out!" "It didn't look that different from where you usually tie it!" Misty gasped. "You, you, insensitive jerk!" "At least I'm not a scrawny brat!" "Am not!" "Are too!" "Am not!" "Are too!" "Am not!" Silence, peace. Misty thanked as she stood over Ash with her mighty mallet of power. === "Isn't that the most beautiful sound you've ever heard?" Asked Delilah. "Yeah, right." Replied Gary, who stopped by about two minutes ago. "Um, maybe I should talk to Ash tommorow. 'Man, poor guy. No wonder he's so strong, he gets that kind of beating everyday, and I complain about when my cheerleaders need things. I hope they don't all gang up on me like that.' === Ash lie, dazed on the floor of his room. Misty looming over him, looking very triumphant. "Misty, could you please get off?!" "No! Not until you apologize!" She pressed down on her foot to reaffirm. "Okay, okay. I'm sorry, you're not scrawny, you're a very beautiful girl! Now will you get off me?!" Misty was a bit shocked and released her foot lock off him. Suddenly, she felt herself weightless as she was thrown onto Ash's bed. (Hi sickos! Get out cuz its not what you're thinking!) "Ha!" His sudden realization of fear struck as Misty pulled out her mallet and a fan. (You know, the ones that girls use sometimes instead of the mallet!) "Yaps!" Pikachu awoke to the scream of Ash and stared watching Misty jump onto Ash's back and started whacking his head and riding him like a horse, using her mallet as a whip. (Ouch! That must hurt!) @_@' Delilah jumped as a crash of a vase and two thumps. She looked at the stairs where Ash and Misty lay on top of each other, laughing. Misty on top with the bottom half of the broken vase on her head, and Ash on bottom unceremoniously with the top half, water dripping all over him. Pikachu looking down at the pair, shaking its head in embarrassment. "Pikapi, pi kachu pi, pika." It slid down the banister and landed on the ground. "Pika, pikachu." Ash held onto Pikachu's paw as heat surround his body and he began to dry off. "Nice trick Ash, but what about me?!" Yelled Misty, threatening to blow off her top at a moments notice. "Pikachu, could you be a pikapal and dry me too?" It nodded with a slight disapproval from Ash who mumbled something inaudible about Misty being bratty. "Humph!" Misty turned away, making her way to the kitchen. She growled a little at him before entering and Ash just turned away from her and headed out the door for some training. "Bye mom, see ya later!" He waved. Ash stood overlooking the ocean on a cliff in the Pallet Pennisula and dared not to look down for he might lose his courage at the height it was to the jagged rocks below. Serious training, what a joke, he thought. Pikachu was ten times of any normal one and he still had serious training to do. But how could he argue when he hadn't done much for his other team of pokemon. They seemed a bit jealous at Pikachu and Meganium wanted to crush Pikachu with a body slam, although it probably would have been thrown off if Pikachu wanted to use its strength technique. So the training began with face off between Pikachu and Heracross using speed attacks to race from one side of the beach to the other seeing, who was fastest, Heracross won by a horn. Although Ash knew that Pikachu could have easily beaten it if it used its power increase attack. Back at Ketchum house, there was rage brewing. Misty letting her anger out on some poor defenseless rock that was pummeled to dust. "Argh! The arrogance of that boy! You'd think he'd at least apologize to me but noooo...he took off for training. If only I could just get my hands and strangle him for just one minute...just one minute and I'd be happy for the rest of my life." Steam shot out of her ears and nose, loud bashings were heard from rocks that had laid for a thousand years undisturbed until Misty came along. "When I get my hands on him, he'd wish he'd never been born." "Misty, you can't really mean that." Stated Delilah. Another rock was dust before she got her answer. Misty snarled angrily, taking the final blow on the rock before resting on the lawn chair in the backyard. "Mrs. Ketchum?" She looked at the mother who bore the chlid that was beginning to derange her. "How did you let Ash become so, so, so ASH!" Delilah smiled, scratching her head lightly and pondering. "Misty, I've never actually remember Ash being like this when he was younger, just when he was with you." She pointed out. She sighed and closed her eyes. Hearing the waves so close, beating against the cliffs, she could almost taste the sea water. "Maybe its me then." The mood began to change as Delilah noticed Misty became saddened. "If he's never acted like this before I came along, then maybe I should just leave him alone. Its not like I have a real reason to stick around here." Delilah hadn't noticed this much change in the young lady's attitude before, although there have been other times, but never like this, it was as if Misty had been hoping for something all the time she was here but never getting it and now was losing her strength and hope. "There's always going to be a reason for you being here, because I feel as though you're the daughter I never had. I care about you Misty, and so do Ash and all your friends. If you ever feel like you don't have a home, just think about me and Ash and we'll always be there for you, no matter what." Misty's eyes began to tear, the two embraced as if a mother and daughter would. "I love you Misty." "I love you too, Mrs. Ketchum." Ash came bounding, in leaps and stared at the two ladies with their teary eyes and huge smiles. "Did I miss something?" They separated from each other and laughed while Ash stood dumbfounded with Pikachu shrugging. "So..." Later that night, Misty was greeted happily by Ash, who apologized for calling her names and for, the throw... === Professor Oak was quite busy the next day as he was swamped with ten new trainers who were looking forward to starter pokemon with him only having the original usual three. "Hey gramps!" Gary greeted Samuel like always. "Hello, Gary, you'll have to excuse me, I'm kind of busy with this crisis." "Oh, hey! Its Gary, look everyone! Its Gary Oak, he's a pokemon master!" The rush of annoying little ten year olds wasn't bad enough, Gary had to endure the annoy questions that was more like a very loud and very long screech that rang in his ears. "Thank you, Gary, I don't know what I would have done. Say, do you happen to have seven pokemon that you wouldn't mind letting go of?" He started at his elder and sweatdropped. Gary plopped on the couch in his grandfather's lab. He looked over to the assistant and smiled. One of Ash's friends, Tracey, he thinks, was the name. "Hey, um, Tracey!" The young man in the green shirt wearing a red bandana turned to face the person calling his name. "Yes Gary?" Tracey sighed, I wonder what he wants? "Next time you see Ash, give him a kick in the butt for me alright?" Gary stated taking a long sigh. "He must have planned to let me win so he wouldn't have to take all this punishment." Tracey smirked slightly and went off to sketch some pokemon. A ring at the door came, much to Gary's annoyance. "Hope its not another batch of new trainers, I believe I'll crack if it is." When he opened the door, there stood one of the most beautiful girls he had ever seen, she rivaled even some of his best looking cheerleaders. "Hi, can you help me? I'm kind of lost and was looking for someone." "I guess you found him." Gary said, daydreaming. (Kind of like Brock but slightly less) "I'm sorry but um, I'm looking for the Ketchum residence." A eyebrow rose. "What business you got with Ash?" "Oh, so you know him? Hee, you must be a friend huh? Well, my name is Lara Larami." Lara was dressed in a new pink shirt, short skirt that revealed her long legs, and had on a new pair of tennis shoes. "So which way to Ash's house?" Gary pointed down the street, Lara thanked him and shook hands with him before departing towards the direction of Ash's house. Her hips sway lightly with just about every guy on the block staring at her, some bicyclists crashed into garbage cans that were left unattended. A small knock on the door, while Delilah was busy cleaning off the table, Mr. Mime answered the door. "Hello, Mr. Mime. Um, this is the Ketchum residence?" Mr. Mime nodded firmly, letting her in. "Wow, what a quiant little house." Suddenly, footsteps came down the stairs, soft yet solid. "Hi!" Said a girl about Lara's age. "Don't I know you?" It was the girl! The girl that traveled with Ash. "Hey! You're Lara, how long has it been, it must been at least three years." She smiled and had a pleasant manner. "Its me, Misty." "Hey, Misty. I didn't expect you to be here. I thought you'd go back to live with your sisters or something." No way, she and Ash are too young to get married, but this is the 'Ketchum' residence. Lara smiled awkwardly. "So, what brings you here?" Misty asked with enthusiasm. "Well, I think I'll wait for Ash, its kind of for him only." Lara stated. Misty had a curiousity about her and why she wanted for Ash to see only. "Ash! Come down here! There's someone here to see you!" "What is it Misty! I've got a real important match against Pikach-. Hey Lara!" Ash jumped down the last few steps. "What's up?" The two were still together after four years, maybe they were a couple. "Ash! You know that's not very gentlemen like!" "Well, what about your scream at me from downstairs, that's not very lady like!" Ash retorted. "Humph! Excuse me while I take an actual lady out on a walk!" Lara was pulled by the arm to outside where she was led a walk towards the beach. She heard a few mumbles of foul language about Misty with his eyes straight ahead, watching his way for any gaps or holes of construction that there might be. (Pallet Town was changing to Pallet City! Yeah, finally! And it's all thanks to Gary for becoming a pokemon master!) "Can we stop now Ash? My arm is kind of getting numb from the pressure because you're holding me too tight." He let go immediately and smiled crookedly. "Hey, what's with the way you and Misty are battling? Is this some sort of lovers spat or fight that usually occurs with couples?" "Couples? Lover's spat?! NO WAY! Misty is, Misty is, she's just a big bratty, scrawny, pile of doduo! That's what she is, she can't even, she just won't, I just don't know what she is. I 'JUST' don't get her! One minute she's really, really happy. The next, she's as crazy a lunatic! If she wasn't a girl, I'd think there was something seriously wrong with her!" He let out a long sigh and turned to Lara. "Do you get her? Cuz, I just don't and I don't think I ever will." Lara pushed a strand of hair behind her ear and smiled. "There's a very simple explaination about why Misty is acting like this. And I'm not saying its PMS but it could be but more likely its something very simple yet its just very, very hard to say. And when its time, she'll tell you." "Oh, okay. So, um, can I ask you a question?" He bowed her head nervously and tapped his two forefingers together, waiting for Lara. "What's PMS?" She slapped herself in the head and shook it in embarrassment. "Just don't mention it to anyone and you won't get yourself slapped in the face, okay?" Ash nodded, although confused. "Hey, can I ask you another thing?" She nodded, hoping it wasn't something really personal like before. "Well, what'd you come here to tell me?" "Yeah, that's what I'd like to know too!" Stated Gary, who arose from the behind a huge rock. "Oh man, after all this excitement, I forgot to tell you. Well, as you know the Larami clan is hosting a great big dinner party for the all its members at Viridian City." "And what's that got to do with Ash because I heard that only the members and the elite four are able to get in! And Ash isn't one of the elite four!" Lara snickered. "Well, Mr. Gary Oak. You should know that Ash here is an honorary member of the Larami clan and even if he wasn't I'm allowed to bring as many guests as I want so. Mmphhh!" Sticking her tongue at him. "What?" Screamed Gary. "How could loser here become a member of the Larami clan its impossible, it takes at least six years for someone to join and after that it takes two years of hard work at a pokemon reserve to become a member! And I've spent my whole life with Ash so no way can he have done all that! He'd either have to have been born into the clan or did all that while I wasn't with him which is impossible!" "Well, didn't actually do any of that, all I did was win a race." "Oh yeah right, like you won in the pokemon grand prix. No way, you've never had a pokemon that could be ridden so how could you even enter?" "He used my Rapidash to win! Making himself a honorary member!" Lara looked off into the horizon with the sun setting. "Oh, boy, I have to go. Here's your invitation Ash, see you at the party. Formal wear required!" Ash worried. "You mean I have to wear a tie and everything?!" He slumped, he hated those stupid ties because they always seem to strangle his neck. "Well, if you don't want to go, let me go instead!" Gary proclaimed. "No, I can't refuse Lara like that, I guess I'll just have to suffer the consequences." He sighed. "Some consequences, you get to go to the biggest party event in the world. And I get to become a pokemon master, get tons of responsibilities, have to battle then get mobbed then get microphones shoved into my face. Somehow, it doesn't seem fair." "Aww, don't worry Gary, you can tag along if you want." Ash wrapped his arm around Gary's neck like when they were kids. "Besides it wouldn't be that good of a party if a pokemon master wasn't there." Gary's eyes opened wide. "Really, you mean it Ash?" He nodded. "Oh wow, I better get some new threads so I can impress Lara, I mean, I need some new attire for the party. Smell ya later, I mean thanks, bye!" As Gary ran off towards his house, Ash just turned to the sunset. "Maybe inviting him wasn't such a good idea...too late now." As he turned to see if Gary was still in sight. "Hope Lara doesn't sick Rapidash on me." +++ It was as nothing he had ever expected a party to be, the beautiful girls in gowns with guys in tuxedos drooling over their dates. The music sounded for the dances to begin and at the top of the stairs was Lara in a beautiful white gown that was held with two straps. "Hi Lara." "Hey Ash! So you wanna dance?" "Sure!" He looked around, expecting to see someone who was even more beautiful than Lara but found no one except the exit door swinging. A flash of red hair going outward. "Hey, isn't tha-." "What? Where?" Lara looked and found no one. "I don't see anyone." "Maybe it was my imagination. But you know what, I'm feeling a little hot in this tux, so if you don't mind, would you excuse me while I get some fresh air?" "No sure. Its no problem, I'll ju-." She saw Gary walking towards her. "I'll dance with Tracey." It was loud enough so Gary could hear while she walked right passed him. Ash walked out and loosened his tie a little, only to hear a small crying noise to his right. He looked over the railing to see Misty in a blue gown in the lower balcony. Her hair was neatly tied in the back with two goldeen pins. He stepped down the stairs to the lower balcony and sat down on the railing. "So, what are you crying so much about?" She looked up, her eyes redish-pink. "Ash? What are you doing here? I thought you were dancing with Lara?" "I was but I didn't really have anyone else to dance with. And you know how I have two left feet." She chuckled lightly and sat down beside him. "So why so teary? Hmm?" He gave her his hankerchief from his left jacket pocket. She laughed a little. "I don't know. I just feel like he doesn't even notice me. You know?" "Who?" "You know who?" "Who?" "Um, you know Gary..." "Gary?!" "Yeah, who'd you think it was, you? HA!" Suddenly, the world around his stood still around him, it swirled into darkness. "Yeah right, I hate you Ash Ketchum!" Said Misty in a dark evil voice, disappearing into the dark void. "NO!" I was all he could scream out before falling into the void himself. +++ Ash rose up on his bed, cold sweat but teary eyed. His mouth wide open about to scream but no words were heard as none could explain the feeling he was having. After a long silence, he was about to grasp his throat. "What the heck?" Quietly as not to disturb Pikachu, and boy he didn't want to wake up a non-morning pokemon that has the ability to pump hundred thousand volts of electricity in a simple thundershock attack. He got up quietly and opened his curtains. The sun was just rising and the morning dew was still in the air, but the pleasant feeling hadn't taken one bit of his attention away from the crazy weird dream he had. An almost foreboding sense was all he could think it was. And besides that, how could he dream that he was nice to Misty and she so cold at him, it was as if he liked her in a way that wasn't just a friend. What kind of weird things had he ate yesterday that could make him think that. It was preposterous, just a crazy nightmare/dream that could happen to anyone...right? _______________________________________________________________________________________ Hey Lara's back! And she's better than ever, no accent, no pokemon, just a beautiful girl who guys would kiss her feet at a moment's request. That is except Ash, who has no interest in girls whatsoever, or does he? I mean, he's not like Brock and he is definitely not like Gary. But he has to have some interest otherwise he just wouldn't be a guy unless he's g** of course, which I really hate people for. Cuz I just isn't right for him and he has shown some interest in the anime. Not that being g** is bad, it just doesn't seem right for Ash. Right? Feedback please, flaming is okay I guess. I'm a really weird guy. ^_^' Next part: The Larami Clan Party (TLCP) Trying to make up stuff is harder than anyone thinks, writers must work really, really hard if they can write books the size of a fist and make it in small print as well.
