The morning was rather tense in the Ketchum house which calmed after the 'two' avoided each other. Under the old Oak tree at the top of 'Mt. Terror', Ash Ketchum lay sprawled. His arms and legs spread out on the grass with a relaxing yawn following. Pikachu copied his friend/master and looked up at the floating clouds above. "Isn't this nice, Pikachu?" "Yeah, but you know what would make it even better?" "What...? Huh?" He suddenly popped up and looked around. Misty came out from behind the tree and smiled. "Humph." "Humph?! What's your problem? I should be the one to humph you! But...I should have expected this attitude from such a young boy as yourself." "That's really funny. Look who's talking." He forced a laugh and lied back down on the grass. She began to glare at him but just ignored it. Misty walked over and laid down along side him. She breathed in the gentle breeze and smiled. "Ash..." "What is it Misty?" "I don't know..." "I don't know? Are you feeling all right?" "Of course. It's just, its been a long time since we met each other that's all...Ever since that day, the day I fished you out of that river and you stole my bike. Which I still have yet to see one cent of the payment." Ash groaned. "You're still going on about that?" "And why shouldn't I? I spent almost all my life savings into that bike and in less than one week, you show up! And destroy it!" "No I didn't! Pikachu's thundershock did!" "Well, if someone hadn't thrown a rock at a spearow then maybe he wouldn't have had to defend against them!" Ash turned over and became silent. "Hey, Misty..." "Yea." "I'm sorry. I should have been thinking before I did what I did." She began to grin and laugh also. "Why are you laughing? I'm being serious here." "Ha, ha, ha. I know, its just...you look really funny apologizing. I think...this is the first time I've heard you apologize for burning it to a crisp. Besides, I'm actually glad that I met you, its been fun all these years." === "Jess, this is Meowth. I've spotted the twerps." He said over the walkie-talkie. "All right Meowth. We see them too. Now, we can capture Pikachu with our Ultimate Super Duper Mega Ultra electricity proof glass cage. Now James, lets go capture Pikachu. As Ash and Misty lay looking at the floating clouds, a loud earth-shaking rubble came from behind them. "What's that?!" A huge robotic Pikachu came running from the other side of the hill. "Pikachu! Come here!" Two hands appeared and captured Pikachu. "Prepare for trouble..." They say their motto and show Pikachu in a glass cage. "I knew you three would show up eventually! Now give me back Pikachu!" "No can do. The boss is especially requesting it this time. We have no idea why after you lost becoming a pokemon master." Ash was slightly angered by their comments. "Well, let's go! James!" They jumped into machine and began to take off. "Stop right there! You think you can just get away! Bayleef! Grab them with your vine whip!" The pokemon appeared and tried to pull the machine but it was too strong. "Cyndaquil, flamethrower!" It came out and fired but it didn't seem to burn at all." "Ha, ha, ha, ha! You think we're dumb, we made sure to make this model, fire, water, crack, and shatter proof! Its totally invincible! Plus we gotta a surprise for you, it seems the boss also gave us a small temporary promotion to complete this mission! Rocket Grunts!" Suddenly, Ash and Misty were surrounded by five people in full black with a red R on the shirt. "Get them!" "Argh! Misty!" "Right! Everyone, go!" She and Ash let out all their pokemon while the rocket grunts did the same. "Formation Attack Alpha!" The pokemon seem to understand and created an V formation aimed towards them. "Misty, we gotta be careful. These guys don't look like they are messing around." In the next second. the battle commenced with ten on ten. Two pokemon each from the rocket grunts that consisted of fighting pokemon against Ash's five and Misty's five pokemon. "Misty, use strong attacks only. These pokemon are at a high level." "How can you tell?" "Just trust me. Use your best. Now, everyone listen to Misty." Ash told his pokemon. "Can you take over for me? I need to get Pikachu." "Don't worry, I do it. But Ash, you don't have a pokemon on you. How can you beat Jesse and James." "I'll figure that out on the way! Goodbye!" "Wait!" She suddenly turned her attention to the battle. "Cyndaquil, flame wheel!" 'What am I going to do? I don't have a pokemon.' "CAWWW!" Ash looked over head as a bunch of pidgeotto and a large Pidgeot landed in front of him. They seem to be warding him off from proceeding into the forest. "Pidgeot, is it you?!" There was a silence as the pokemon looked more closely. "Its me, Ash." The bird pokemon began to caw loudly as Pidgeot bowed its head. "Hello, buddy. Its been a while but I can't stop to chat. Pikachu's been kidnapped again by Team Rocket." The bird nodded and seem to order the pidgeotto to disperse. It turned around. "You want me to get on?" It nodded. "All right. Let's go!" The two launched off the ground and began flying north. "Wow, you've really grown. You're way bigger than when I left you." It cawed and picked up speed. "And really faster!" Ash bellowed in the passing wind. It didn't take long for Ash to see the robotic Pikachu. "There! Let's land on it." As soon as he landed. Ash ran for the emergency hatch and opened it but there was a loud crackle of electricity which only meant one thing. Ash ran into the control room to see Pikachu standing on top of James, Jesse, and Meowth. "How could he break through our Ultimate Super Duper Mega Ultra electricity proof glass cage?" James whined before going unconscious. "So, you vibrated just like I told you until the glass cracked right?" It nodded and jumped into his arms. "Wait..." He counted the three. "If they're all unconscious. Who's flying this boat?" He looked and saw the throttle uncontrolled which was heading into the mountain side. "Um, its time to go!" He raced out the hatch and onto Pidgeot. He looked back as the robot continued to fly into the mountain. "I feel sorry for those three." Jesse finally recovered from the electricity and looked up just in time to scream before the explosion. Ash was a mile off but he could hear the cry and shrugged. "Oh well, they got what was coming to them. Let's go Pidgeot, Misty might be in trouble." Pidgeot landed just as a crisp rocket grunt fell unconscious along with the others. "Wow, nice job Misty." Ash said running to her side. "Well, it was nothing." Ash thanked his pokemon and returned them. "So, is that who I think it is?" Pidgeot cawwed happily as Misty came and petted him. "Its so nice to see you again Pidgeot." Overhead, the group of pidgeotto returned. "I guess you're still needed here." It nodded. "Okay, I'll come visit you again, buddy." He hugged the bird before letting go. It flew up and did three circles before heading deeper into the forest. "Goodbye!" She smiled waving and turned to him. Ash smiled back. "Let's go! I'm hungry, I hope mom makes something really good." Misty rolled her eyes. "Geez, Ash! Always thinking about your stomach!" "Hey, I'm a growing boy you know." "I know, I know." She shook her head. "Hurry up Misty! You're so slow!" She found him several yards ahead. She sighed and ran passed. "Last one home has to wash the dishes tonight!" "No fair Misty!" He ran after her as quick as he could. === Misty sat down on the back porch and looked at the stars. Ash came out a second later and sat down beside her, grumbling a little. "The stars are beautiful aren't they?" He yawned and looked up at them. "I guess. I've never really looked at them. I mean I've looked at them but its never had any special meaning to me." He sighed leaned against the post. "When I look at them I always get a funny feeling inside, its like I can almost touch them even though they're millions of miles away." He laughed at himself and smiled. "I'm weird aren't I?" She shook her head. "No, I sometimes feel the exact same way." She leaned against him and placed her head on his shoulder. "Its a nice feeling to have isn't it?" He wrapped his arm around her and gently pulled her towards him. She closed her eyes. Delilah stood looking out the kitchen window, seeing the same sight yet again, except its been so long that its been like a fading dream, at least eight years have passed since that time and they're both so grown up now. She began to sniffle a little and quickly wiped the growing tears from her eyes. Morning rose and Ash found himself asleep on the couch with the tv still on. He looked across the room to see Misty on the other couch with his blanket around her. He smiled at the sight. "Pika." Pikachu yawned and scampered in. "Morning Pikachu." It replied with a 'cha'. He rubbed behind its ears and got up. He decided to take a shower and eat breakfast, his mother was already in the kitchen and he could smell something on the stove already. Misty woke up startled to where she was but remembered that she and Ash were watching a midnight special and that she must have fallen asleep. She laid comfortably and pulled the blanket up to her neck until she realized it smelled like him. She finally noticed it was his and that it was tucked in. She smiled and saw Pikachu rummaging through Ash's backpack, probably for a snack that Ash usually had. "Morning Pikachu." The pokemon was startled and fell in. It came back up and smiled with a packet of ketchup in its mouth. "Did Mrs. Ketchum run out?" It nodded and ran into the kitchen. 'It sure loves its ketchup. I wonder where it gets it from?' She remembers an incident with Ash while in a burger place. --- Ash had ordered an extra large two pound burger with everything on it. She had wondered where he put it all but everything had stopped making sense when it came to Ash. When the order came, he quickly opened the burger and added ketchup to the rather filled burger. The burger, was devoured a few seconds later. Ash was dirty, from the dripping ketchup and decided to lick it off his shirt. She was quite embarrassed at the moment because it seemed he was making a ruckus and drawing attention to their table. She, of course, straightened him out with a kick to the shin and paid the meal and walked out with Ash wondering what he had done wrong. --- She smiled. She began twirling her hair and lay quietly staring at the ceiling. The shower stopped and she heard the shower door open. "Oh, that reminds me. I have to take a shower too." She met Ash halfway to her room when he came out of the shower half naked. She blushed at his appearance and quickly walked into her room without a word to him. The door to his room closed a second later, and she sighed before going into the bathroom. The bathroom, was steamy, hot, but had Ash's familiar scent to it. She quickly dismissed those thoughts any further and took her shower. Ash had just put on his black t-shirt when the shower began. "Guess she's in the bathroom," He looked around for his cap which was apparently missing, when he remembered he left it in there. "Darn it." Pikachu scampered in, ready to rumble. Ash had wanted to get a quick exercise match, to work up an appetite before breakfast. He stood outside the bathroom door and knocked. "Hey, Misty. Hey, Misty!" He heard no response and guessed that she probably couldn't hear over the running water. He slowly opened the door and creeped in. "Hello? Who's there?" Misty said. She waited for an answer. "It's me. Ash. I forgot my hat, I'll be outta of your hair in a second." "Damn. Misty." She sighed. "What is it?" "Its on the hook by the shower. Can you throw it at the door?" He went out and waited. She stuck her head out slightly and grabbed it and flung it at the door. As he went in and grabbed it but the shower door flung open with Misty falling backwards. He quickly dove to catch her but saw that he was heading for the large bathroom mirror and twisted his body to protect her from the glass. A cry was heard from the Ketchum residence that spanned for miles. === Darkness, that was all she knew. That was what she was surrounded by. Misty rubbed his head, a tingling feeling was there but she couldn't remember what it was from, the last thing she remembers was that Ash was going to get his hat in the bathroom and after that, after that she was going to...she couldn't remember. She looked around. "Where is this place?" All of a sudden, a huge black hole popped out of nowhere and began to suck her in...then she woke up. "Is Ash all right?" Delilah looked at her blankly. --- The emergency hospital was only a few miles away and Ash was quickly being stablized by the doctors and nurses. Delilah and Misty paced back and forth for any news. Pikachu, who was sad, lay depressingly on the couch with its paws on its ears with droopy eyes staring at the door to the emergency room. Just as a doctor came out, it lifted its head. "Mrs. Ketchum?" Delilah ran to meet with the doctor. "He seems to be okay now, the..." A loud screech came and immediately the doctor was called away. Misty, felt a large boulder had just landed on her. Just a few hours ago, Ash was fine. A flash ran through her mind. She was on the floor of the bathroom on top of Ash. She had screamed lightly from the crash but everything was fine until she noticed a red ooze flowing outwards from some place. It took a few seconds to realize that it was from Ash's head, he had hit his head on a large piece of glass about one inch long and it had cut just above his forehead. As she touched the blood, it was still warm. She screamed loudly the next moment and quickly tried to stop the blood from coming out. She covered her eyes. The doctor came out with his head down and he looked up. "I...I.. I don't know what to say. He's gone." At that moment, Delilah collapsed on the floor. The doctor and several nurses came to help her. Pikachu cried and shot all its electricity all over the place before it collapsed also and fainted. Misty just sat on the couch, looking as dead as a doorknob. The world became black as night and all around her was glowing crimson red eyes that spoke out. 'You killed him, you killed him.' "No, no! I didn't. He was just trying to save me. I didn't do anything wrong." From the shadows, they revealed themselves to be Ash's pokemon, Pikachu seemed to be the leader. In an eerie voice, he said in human language. "You, you killed my best friend. You evil person. You will pay for it with your life..." Before her, the pokemon began pounce on her and chew at her legs and arms, devouring her alive. --- "No, no, no. NO!" Misty found herself in a bed. Its seems she was in the hospital. A passing nurse looked in on her. "Oh, you're finally awake." "Where am I? How did I get here?" She rubbed her head. "Well, you took a nasty blow to the head and got a few scratches here and...there but you're fine now." The nurse smiled. "Your mother is in the waiting room so I'll go get her." "Mother? But my...oh. Please get her. Thank you." Just as the nurse was about to leave. She had a nagging feeling. "Was there someone else with me?" "Oh, your friend. Well, he's gone." She said and left. "Gone?" Misty couldn't believe it. "Ash...gone?" Delilah came rushing in and hugged her at a moments noticed. "Oh dear, you had me so worried." "Mrs. Ketchum...Ash...he's...gone?" "Oh yeah, he was gone a long while ago." Misty was shocked at the news. "You! Are you his mother! How dare you say that so calmly, Ash is dead and you say that as if he's nothing." "Dead? Misty, dear, what are you talking about? Ash is across the street at the park. He was released hours ago. But you were still sleeping away." She smiled. "But you know, I think you've finally shown yourself." Misty was confused at her words. "I think he has too. Because, the entire time, except for just a few minutes ago he was by your side, sitting here. Holding your hand, like I am now." Misty looked down at her hand embraced in Delilahs'. Ash opened the door slowly and looked in. "So...Misty is finally awake." "Come on in Ash." She smiled at him. He felt a bit shocked. "Is there something going on? Was the accident that serious? Are you going to die?" "Die? What the heck are you talking about mister! I'm in perfect health." Misty screamed. 'Geez. What an idiot.' "Well, you seemed so happy that I thought that you might wanna say sorry to me or something. I mean, you've been a pain for such a long time that-" He was quickly knocked down by a mallet. Misty sighed and retrieved her precious possession. "He seems so much better when he has his mouth shut" Delilah laughed which Misty soon followed. Ash rubbed his aching head and sat down on the chair by Misty. "Ouch! I just got out of the hospital for a terrible head injury, you know?!" "So was I!" Arguing ensured. The doctors let Misty and Ash after an hour but only after Ash had his head checked again just to make sure that he didn't have brain damage from Misty's constant hits on his poor head. "Pikachu! Pikapi! Pikapi Pikachu!" Pikachu happily said as the three returned. It had been worried about Misty ever since Ash had come home to tell him about Misty's weird unconsciousness. Pikachu hugged Misty's leg with a smile and embraced it with a quick tug before letting go. It was around dinnertime and Mr. Mime and Delilah went to work in the kitchen while Misty and Ash sat down to relax from the day's craziness. "So Misty, are you okay? I'm sorry I didn't ask before but I was a little angry you." "That's okay. I'm sorry about it, I hope I didn't hit you too hard." Ash rubbed his head. "Naw, you've done worse." They smiled quickly before becoming quiet again. The only noise was from the kitchen and neither knew what to talk about. "Well, I think I'm going to get some training done before dinner." He got up from his seat and paused as he was about to exit. Misty just sat on the couch, just staring at the surroundings. "Hey," She looked up. "You wanna join me? I mean, I haven't faced anyone in a while." "Sure." She smiled and grabbed his hand. "Let's go." He blushed as they walked along hand in hand. Misty sat on the sidelines and Ash began. She watched as he told his pokemon to go against each other. But one thing puzzled her, she saw that Ash had seven pokemon. There was Bayleef, Tauros, Bulbasaur, Muk, Feraligator, Quilava, and Pikachu who was refereeing in a small referee costume. Sure Pikachu looked cute but what was it doing not training. "Ash? What's Pikachu doing?" "What does it looked like its doing?" "It looks like its the referee." "Then its what it looks like." "Why?" "What?" "Why isn't it training?" "Training?" "Yeah, doesn't it need to train too?" "Oh...no." "No?" "No." She scratched her head. This was geting frustrating. "Why don't you train it?" "Well, we have a small special training session later tonight." "Special?" "Yeah. Just me and him." "So, what's so special about it?" "Its a secret." "Secret?" She smiled mischieviously. "Yeah just between pikachu and me." "So, when is this special training session." "Its a secret." "Come on, its me Misty." "And your point is..." She fumed. "Humph. I don't really care anyways." "Whatever." Ash went back to his training. === Ash had finished his dinner in record time as usual and he went outside to look at the stars as usual. She was spying out the window when she suddenly noticed Delilah was right above her and looking for what she was. "So, is there something especially interesting about Ash that you can't stop checking the window every few seconds. "No, no really.." She smiled and walked outside through the front door. Just as she relaxed against the door, she heard the rustling bushes from a far and could tell that Ash and Pikachu were sneaking off somewhere because she could spot the yellow fur in the moonlight. "Hmm, very clever Ash." Ash and Pikachu walked the darkness and found their usually training spot undistrubed. "So, start stretching before you go at it okay? Oh, try a warm up on that old tree." Misty was barely able to keep up with Ash when luckly they stopped in a small clearing. She hid in the bushes and hoped he didn't know she was here. "Piiiii!" Pikachu surged with electricity which began to incinerate the old fallen log. "Stop, Pikachu! You're going to start a fire and we don't have any water." It did as it was told and twisted its body which a few bones seem crack. "Pika??" His ears lifted up and Ash became alert. "Where?" He looked around. "All right. Whoever you are. Stop hiding, I know you're there." Misty froze, damn, she must have done something wrong. As she was going to get up from her spot, something or someone else popped out from the other side of the forest. "That's some good ears your Pikachu has." From the shadows emerged Gary and his Umbreon. "I'm sorry about sneaking around but I wanted to find out what this special training session was. I overheard you talking to that girl you're always with and thought I'd find out what it was. I can see why its so special. The log almost began to burn which is a feat that not any pikachu or electric pokemon can do. That's pretty good but I've been training and I thought, maybe you'd want a match." "Match? Hmmm..." Ash rubbed his chin and smiled. "Sure why not? Pikachu could use a warm up match." "Warm up match? Ash, you're looking at a pokemon master." "I know, but I also see someone I've known since I was a kid. The kid I always beat in the games we played." "Hey! I won some too!" "Like what? Solitaire?" "And other games." He blurted. "Besides, this is pokemon battle, let's began, one on one." "Okay." Misty looked intensely as the battle began. Both Pokemon seem to shine brightly in the moonlight. As it began, she watched as both pokemon looked about equal but as it went along, she could see that Umbreon was starting to have a hard time with Pikachu while Pikachu hadn't even broken a sweat and seemed as calm as it did at the beginning of the match. Pretty soon, Gary was getting desperate, he couldn't understand how Ash's pokemon had this much strength and stamina. It looked as if it were playing with Umbreon as they attack each other with their specialty moves. After a while, he couldn't face it anymore, he withdrew his pokemon. "You win. But we'll be back and next time, I'll win. Smell ya later." He waved off. "You can stop hiding now Misty. I know you're there. Unless you want Pikachu to zap you." She stood up from the ground. "How did you know?" "Easy, you like to butt into other people's business even if you're not welcomed sometimes." She fumed and cursed him silently. "Well Pikachu, this night is over. I guess we couldn't do it, not with all these interruptions." "Wait, why don't go ahead, just pretend I'm not here." "Well, that's a little hard." He muttered. "What was that?" "Nothing." "Come on Ash, don't tell me I stayed in the mud for an hour just for nothing." She looked at him. "Please, please..." "Aww, well. Just one demostration then we'll rest for the night." He looked down at Pikachu. "Well, show her a thunderbolt." "A thunderbolt? That's it?" "A good one Pikachu." It nodded then stood a dozen feet away from the fallen log from before. "Make it quick, I wanna get a good night's sleep." "Pi." It looked at the log for a second. Then, Misty would never forget what happened next. "PIKACHUUUUUU!" A blue bolt of electricity surrounded in gold blinded the area and when the flash died down. All that was left of the old fallen log were ashes. "So, let's go Pikachu." He grabbed Misty by the hand. "Let's go Misty, its passed curfew and mom might yell at us." They hurried to sleep, luckily, Delilah didn't fret over the curfew and told them to go straight to bed which they did. But as Misty lay in bed, trying to go to sleep, the images from just a few minutes ago kept repeating in her mind until she found herself awake in the morning with the sun shining in her face. "Huh? Was that a dream?" She laughed. "Of course it was, its impossible for Pikachu to be that strong." Its actually ridiculious when she thought about it. Even though she doesn't know much about electric pokemon. She did recall reading about a magazine a few years ago about a pokemon able to actually to generate enough electricity to light an entire town for one and a half second. But the scene she saw had to have been fake because the flash lasted for more than a second and it had to have been a lot of power to turn the log into ash and Pikachu looked perfectly fine when the flash ended. She shook her head. "I've gotta stop thinking about this. Maybe a cold shower will help." As she went to bathroom, she met Ash coming out. "Don't slip today, I won't be there to save you." She laughed methodically and entered. "Oh yeah, don't forget to wash your behind, you seem to have forgotten to clean it, it looked a little dirty yesterday. Well, I'm off to train. Bye." Misty jumped out the bathroom but Ash was already downstairs and out the door. "Why that sneaky little peeking tom." "No I'm not!" Yelled Ash from downstairs as he exited again. She grumbled. "Stupid, ecchi, hentai, baka!!" === Re-read if bored or crazy but I'm slow so you'll have to wait a while.
