Misty’s View “Whoa, who’s that sexy lady?” Sara asks me. “Really though, what’s the occasion?” “Oh,” I shrug as Sara zips up my pink dress. “I’m just going to go out to eat with someone tonight.” “Who would that lucky man be?” Sara asks in her gameshow voice. “ASH KETCHUM! Congratulations! You have won a dinner for two with…drumroll please..MISTY WATERFLOWER!” “Umm, it’s..it’s not Ash.” I say as I take my hair out of it’s ponytail and start to straighten it. “What?” Sara asks skeptically. “Who is it?” “It’s um..it’s..Gary.” I say quietly. Sara drops her curling iron. “WHAT?” “We just kinda…” Sara comes over and looks at me. “I told Gary to play hard to get, so he WOULDN’T talk to you, and you WOULDN’T have to deal with him! And now you’re falling in love with HIM?!” Sara shrieks. “I guess you were right. I like boys that are hard to get.” I shrug. “And you have no right to think Gary is bad, because who are you going out with tonight? Oh, yeah, DREW.” I say angrily. “Yeah, I am. We’re getting dinner at six. Do you care?” “Yes! Sara, he doesn’t deserve you. Don’t you remember all the bad things he’s done to you?” I yell. “I’m trying to forget them.” Sara mutters. “Whatever, I’m leaving for Drew’s house.” “But it’s only 4:30!” I yell after her. Gary’s View Ahh, finally. I’ve been waiting for this date my whole life. I spin around. “How do I look?” I ask Sara. She stares at me for a minute. A slow smile spreads across her face. She nods her head. “Perfect.” Sara says as I walk out the door. I sit down at the table, waiting for Misty to come. I read the menu. 12 times. Finally, a beautiful girl in a pink dress walks over to the table. “Misty!” I gasp. “You look absolutely stunning.” “Aww, thanks, Gary. You look pretty handsome yourself.” Misty smiles and sits down in the chair I pull out for her. We talk for what seems like forever. After a while, a waitress comes up to us. “Hello, my name is Clarice, and I’ll be your waitress for the evening.” Clarice looked to be about 26 and had short brown hair. “May I take your drink order?” “Yes, I’ll have the fountain drink, please.” I say. “I’ll take the strawberry cider, please.” Misty smiles. “Ok. Are you two ready to order?” Clarice asks kindly. “Yes, I think we are.” I say. “I’ll have the apple-cheese quesadilla.” “I would like the 20 cheese lasagna, please.” Misty says. “Coming right up.” Clarice says, and walks away. “Now tell me,” I say to Misty, leaning closer to her. “How did I end up going on a date with the most beautiful girl in the world?” Sara’s View Knock knock knock. “Uh, yeah, who is it?” Drew yells from inside the door. “It’s Sara, can I come in?” I yell. “Sorry I came so early.” “Sara? Yeah, sure, hold on.” Drew says hurriedly. I hear the muffled noises of people talking and running around. “No, baby, that’s just my cleaning lady.” “I don’t know why she’s here early.” “Fine, next time we’ll go out to eat, I’m sorry. I had to stay here because my cleaning lady was coming.” A good five minutes have passed. “Drew?!” I yell. “Are you ready for our date?” “Date?!” a woman yelled in the background. “DATE?!” “Ellie, be quiet!!! She can hear you!” Drew yelled. A long string of cuss words were said, followed by a scream, glass breaking, a slap, and an “OUCH!” Finally, Drew opened the door. “Was that your ‘cleaning lady’?” I asked angrily. “Oh! Yeah, it was, she was just, uh..cleaning.” Drew stuttered. “Cleaning what? Her plate? God, Drew! For once, can you not act so immature?! You’re seeing two girls at once! Are you freaking kidding me?!” I scream. “Sara..it’s..” “It’s one thing to use me. It’s another thing to ruin my party and tell me ‘I’m messed up’. But it’s a whole different thing to CHEAT ON ME!” I yell. “You know what, Drew? You’re the one that’s messed up!” “Sara! Come on! We’ve gotten through this before.” “Not anymore.” Drew grabs my arm and pulls me towards him. He leans in and kisses me. For a long time. And it’s the perfect kiss. Bam. Bang. Boom. Pow. Fireworks. “Dr-Dre-Drew, st-stop!” I say, and push him away. “Fine!” Drew sneers. “You don’t deserve me anyway.” “No, Drew. You don’t deserve me.” I say and walk out of the door. “Sara, come on, Sara. I didn’t mean to! I love you!” Drew yells. “I loved you too.” I say and walk away.
