Chapter 1:The Invitation “A high 90 degrees today! Beautiful skies, although a slight chance of rain is possible,” The radio blared. “And now our new hit single, We Will be Heroes!” “Ugh….so hot!” Misty Waterflower groaned. She rolled out of bed. “Morning Togepi!” she said grabbing it up in her arms, and racing downstairs for breakfast. “Morning sweet little sister Misty!” her sister Daisy said, passing her a glass of milk. “You got this letter from your boyfriend!” her other sister Lilly said. “He is not my boyfriend!” Misty nearly dropped her fork. “Whatever….” Misty’s siter Violet sighed. “Anyway, now that we’ve covered the obvious…….your FRIEND who will never be more than a FRIEND has asked you to go on a FRIENDly trip to Cinnabar Island with him. Your FRIEND also bought you a ticket to ride the boat there so you wouldn’t have to pay. Gosh, he’s such a sweet and thoughtful FRIEND isn’t he?” Violet said in a bittersweet voice. “But, I guess since you two are only FRIENDS and nothing more, and maybe since it would just be the two of you for a few days, weeks maybe, you shouldn’t go.” She finished in a matter-of- fact voice. --- “Ok Togepi, I’ve got my suitcase packed! Let’s get a goodnight’s rest so we can get up early in the morning to go to Cinnabar Island!” Misty cheered. “Togepi!” Togepi cried. The next morning, the two borded the Saint Anne. “You and your FRIEND have fun!” Violet called out as the boat sped away. Chapter 2: Encounters With The Devil “Misty?! How did you get invited?!” A familiar voice asked astonishly, coming out of nowhere. “Look above you! It’s me, May!” She said. “Hello May. I got an invitation to go to Cinnabar Island with Ash,” Misty said carefully, not to hurt May’s feelings, Even though I hate her guts, she thought. “Did you get invited too?” she asked calmly. “I didn’t say I was invited,” May said smugly. “You see, when Ash gave me his hat, before I gave it back to him, I implanted a tracking device. So now when I’m looking for him, I know exactly where he is and who he’s with.” She made a face. “It’s always you.” “That’s low,” Misty said, surprisingly not astonished at all by May’s genius plan. (She was only surprised at the genius part) “Well, we best get back to our cabins,” May smiled, having it more look like a face in pain. “You’ll be staying in my cabin with me.” “You’re joking?!” Misty gasped, not sure if this was a prank or for real. “Dead serious,” May said, her face having even more pain in it. “Over my dead body!” Misty said through clenched teeth. “Come on Misty, Just for a night. Besides, we can go to www.trackashketchum.com!” May said enthusiastically. “Well…..,” Misty hesitated. It DID sound interesting. Besides, at least they wouldn’t have to sleep in the same bed. Sadly, they had to. --- “AAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! You-you-you ruined my bed!” May shouted at the top of her lungs. “What did I do?” Misty asked, fully awake by now, talking in a voice so squeaky it sounded like May had abused her. “You-you ruined my clothes, my bed that I sleep in, and my toilet!” May shouted in outrage. “Look, I don’t care if you have to sleep in a different room or even sleep on the floor outside someone’s door! Just get out of here!!!” she screamed. “Bu-but I,” “GET. OUT. OF. MY.CABIN!!!!!” Misty scrambled to the door, grabbing her suitcase, and like May had said, slept on the floor beside her door. Then, she looked at her underwear May had let her borrow as an extra pair. Soaked. In red. “Aaaww, craaap!” Misty bellowed out to no one in particular, then, noticing that some people were staring, quietly fell back asleep. Chapter 3: Haunted House of Horror (Or so Misty thought) “Hey Misty! Hey Togepi! I’m so glad you two could come!” Ash yelled, jumping up and down like a little boy. “So why did you want to go to Cinnabar Island Ash?” Misty asked, after she had hugged both him and Pikachu. “The Pokemon Mansion of course!” “The-the-The Pokemon Mansion?” Misty stuttered. “But Ash, isn’t that place ha-haunted?!” Misty gulped in sharp breaths. “Uh-huh,” Ash replied carelessly. “ASH! ARE YOU CRAZY?! THE POKEMON MANSION IS HAUNTED! H-A-U-N-T-E-D! HAUNTED! DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?!” Misty screeched. “I guess not,” Ash said casually. “It means ghosts, trapdoors, lava pits...,” “Misty..,” “More ghosts, dusty cellars, zombies…” she was starting to count on her fingers. “Are you scared Misty?” Ash said, playing around. “Are you a chicken? Bawk-Bawk! Bawk-Bawk!” Ash teased her. “I am not a chicken Ash Ketchum, and you know it!” Misty yelled. “Good. ’Cause there is going to be lots of BUG POKEMON there so I hope you can handle it. ” Misty started to sweat. Her knees started to shake. “BUG Pokemon?” she managed to squeak out. Ash bent over from laughing. “I’m just joking Misty,” he said still laughing. “I’ll show you joking.” was her reply. --- “Come on Misty! You’ve gotta come in the Mansion with me!” Ash begged her. “We could die in there!” Misty yelped. “Whatever. Im going in.” “Wait Ash!” Ash turned around. “I’m going with you.” Chapter 4: The Journal Entries Creek! The door to the mansion opened. “Is anybody home?” Misty said in a horse whisper. “Boo!” Ash jumped out from behind a pillar. “Aaagghh!” Misty screamed. “God Misty! Can’t you take a joke?” Ash said. “Not with you around,” Misty muttered. --- “Hey! Misty! Come over here! I think I’ve found something!” Ash said waving a torn and dusty journal in the air. “What does it say?” Misty asked casually, trying not to seem excited, but grumpy. “It says: ‘July 5th..A new Pokemon was discovered in the jungle.’ That’s it.” he said. Misty, already bored, looked over at a statue of…? She felt it with her hands, and then noticed a bump on the statue. “Hey Ash……I think there is a switch on this…this….AAAAGGHH!!” Misty had pressed the switch on the statue and out of nowhere, fell into a deep, dark hole. Beside the hole, a hidden staircase had appeared out of thin air. “Do you need help miss?” a voice said from the staircase. “By the way, than you for pressing that switch again. May, my good friend, and I, Drew, were stuck up there.” he held out a hand. “Thanks,” Misty said sheepishly, embarrassed. “Come on Misty! Let’s go up!” Ash yelled, doing his signature move. “Actually, I would not advise that. You do not want to get stuck there. The only thing interesting I found there was a diary that’s says: ‘February 6th….Mew gave birth. Named the newborn Mewtwo.’ Very interesting, really.” Drew finished. “I found one too!” May shouted, full of joy. “It’s says: ‘Mewtwo is far too powerful. We have failed to curb its vicious tendencies.’ By the way, my friend Drew and I were just traveling around you know? Golly, what a coincidence to meet here. Oh my god I’m sooooo happy! It’s been years. Centuries, it seems like.” May said cheerily, giving Misty a warning glance. They walked on forever, just exploring and talking. Misty talked with Drew, who she thought, was insanely cute, and nice. All of a sudden, a loud crash made everyone automatically look at the ground for a hole. Of course, May just happened to fall in one. “Here, Misty help me pull May out,” Ash said. “Nah, just leave her there,” Misty grumbled under her breath. “What did you say?” Ash asked. “Nevermind,” Misty muttered. A few feet away was another statue. Ash was the first there, so he pushed the button. A ghost popped out of thin air. The room became a dark, grayish color. And then the ghost said: Let me be heard, for this is a warning. Take any more steps farther, and the separation shall begin. Everything will soon crumble, and a death be drawing near. While no one payed any attention except Misty, the others ignored the ghost and grabbed May’s hands. The three pulled and pulled, until May was out. But, pulling so roughly, they managed to make the old mansion’s second level start to crumble. Rocks started to tumble down from the ceiling. Small pillars started to crumble. “Ash! I’d die for you!” “Misty!” “May!” “Drew!” The four were parted from eachother between a wall of boulders. Chapter 5: Trapped “Misty? Are you okay? Please, wake up!” Drew begged. Misty opened her eyes. Where was she? Oh yes, that old mansion. Stupid, stupid Ash! She managed to see that Drew had put his jacket on Misty. Something was bulging in his pocket of it. But what? She also managed to make out a figure above her. Drew. It can’t be so bad being stuck with him…she thought. He is everything I’ve always dreamed of, if not more. Oh my god, look at his hair, and hi-his eyes, they’re s-so adorable…li-like puppy eyes, she thought breathlessly, gasping out loud. “Misty?” “Huh?” “You okay?” “Fine,” she answered. Drew looked her in the eyes. This is it! he thought. Time to shine. “Misty…,” “Mm?” “Misty, ever since I first met you in the Hoenn region, I realized how much I liked you. Your beautiful hair. Your dazzling eyes. Your amazing smile. I love them all.” Drew said romantically. “Oh Drew,” Misty said breathlessly. “That’s the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me.” She layed her head on Drew’s shoulder. --- Hours passed. Not a sound from outside. Talking with Drew was, well, to Misty it was like heaven. Better than that. But what happened next, she would never, ever, forget. Drew wrapped his arm around Misty. They were cold, but gave Misty a warm feeling inside. They slow-danced for a little while. Then Drew leaned his head closer to Misty’s. Misty leaned her head closer to Drew’s. Their heads drew in closer, inch by inch. Then, they were- Chapter 5½: Stuck on The Other Side “Where’s Drew? And Misty?” May asked. “Probably behind these rocks! Get your Pokemon to help! Charizard! Cyndaquil! Corphish! Pikachu! Help move these rocks!” Ash yelled. “Combusken! Eevee! Beautifly! You guys help too!” May said. “You know, that was so close! We could have died! But considering all the other times we were about to die, I knew we wouldn’t die this time! We’re like a cat with a thousand lives!” May said excitedly, talking fast. “Look! We’ve finally moved all the rocks! Oh, and there’s a tunnel! Cyndaquil, light the way!” Ash exclaimed. “About half an hour later, they came to a room. “Hey! A room!” yelled May. “Maybe Misty and Drew are in this cellar.” Chapter 6: Kisses and Catfights “OH MY GOD! YOU TWO ARE KISSING?!” Ash yelled. “Ash, does it matter to you? I mean, I may have liked you, but it’s not like you liked me back.” “Drew! I thought you liked me!” May squeaked out. “I did until I learned you liked that Ash boy too, so I moved on. Don’t get me wrong. We’re still best friends.” Drew said softly. Ash ran up to Misty. “I don’t like you Misty.” he said quietly. “I love you.” May rushed up to Ash. “I thought you liked me!” she screeched. “Come on Ash, we’re leaving.” “Where you gonna go?” Misty said sharply. “Wherever you aren’t!” May yelled. “You sure as hell better not take Ash with you!” Misty said voice rising. “Oh, I’m not taking him with me, I’m taking him AWAY from you! Combusken! Make a fire! A big one.” “You wouldn’t dare.” “Just watch me Misty! Just watch!” May said, her eyes gleaming. She grabbed Ash and Drew and pushed them out the door. “Damn May! It-its-its just a gu-” she was starting to choke. “JUST a guy Misty? If Ash is just a guy, then just let him survive. You’d rather die for him than have him die for you wouldn’t you? Isn’t that what you said you would do for him before we got separated?!” May was cackling like a crazed girl. “Well, goodbye Misty! I REALLY wouldn’t want to be you right now.” May said and walked out of the room and closed the door. All Misty could see was flames. All she could remember was May and Drew and…..Ash. Oh Ash, she thought. I love you too. The flames were as high as the ceiling now. Misty was panicking, not that she wasn’t already. Sweat was oozing down her. She tried to crawl to the door. She took one step and a flame burnt her leg. She imagined her wedding, her sisters, and then just abstract things. Her breath turned into rapid gulps. She reached in Drew’s jacket pockets to look for something useful. Then she pulled out the bulging thing Drew left in his pocket. It was a note and a rose. For her. It said: “For the girl with beautiful hair, dazzling eyes, and an amazing smile. For Misty.” Misty smiled. Oh Drew, she thought. I’ll never forget you. Chapter 7: Burn, Baby, Burn! “That’s right! Bring her in right there! Get some food for her! She’s been stuck in those flames for eight hours you know! We’ll also need some IV’s for her! Go! Go! Go!” A tall woman commanded. “Wha-Where am I?” Misty asked slowly. “Oh, dagnabbit! I forgot to introduce myself again!”the woman slapped herself in the head. “I’m Nancy, your nurse for your stay at the hospital.” Nancy said. “Why, Misty! You have got 3rd degree burns!!! That’s worse than my Uncle Charlie’s!” Nancy marveled. “Now, tell me, who did this to you? We can have the police come pick them up as soon as possible!” she said, pumping her fist in the air. Do I really want May in jail? Misty thought. Grounded yes, but jail? No. “It was May White. She’s my friend…..and I don’t want her in jail….just grounded I suppose..,” Misty stuttered. “Now dearie, tell me…your FRIEND did this to you?! If she did this, how is she your FRIEND?” Nancy asked. “Guy problems,” Misty shrugged. “Well, I guess it was a problem! A HUGE problem!” “Well…………,” Misty launched into the story of broken hearts, evil May, and the interesting journal entries. Hours later, Misty awoke from a deep sleep. She looked up to find herself in an x-ray room. They’re trying to find out if I have any broken bones, she thought. “Well, Miss Misty, I’m sorry to say that you have a broken leg, a broken collarbone, a broken wrist, and a broken ankle.” Nancy said later, reporting to Misty and handing her dinner from the hospital’s cafeteria. “Mmhm,” Misty said. “So when do I get out?” 3 months later---3 months later Chapter 8: Encounters With the Devil 2 “Ash-” “Ehat?” “You really shouldn’t put all that stuff in your mouth at the same time.” “Sphy wot?” “Why not? WHY NOT?! BECAUSE YOU COULD CHOKE!” “Spho?” “You-you-arghhh! Our first date and you ruin it!” From the booth behind them, a laugh was heard. A familiar laugh. Misty turned around. “Did you miss me Misty? Did you think my dad would have ACTUALLY grounded his perfect, sweet, and beautiful daughter?” May said in a nasty voice. “Uhhhh…. I’ll be in the restroom,” Ash said nervously, backing away from the table slowly. “Ok, May. Here’s the deal. You be a good girl and I won’t press charges against you. You hurt me anymore, and by-by miss perfect.” Misty said, gritting her teeth. “Oh, is sweet little Misty gonna press charges? Well, I’ll be! I thought we were friends!” May said, in a goody-two-shoes voice. “Listen May, and you listen good. I can’t help it if Ash doesn’t like you! I mean, I know why, but it’s not my fault you’re pushy, aggressive-,” “Oh, but Misty. I CAN make Ash like me! Don’t you see? Oh, wait! You’ve never been to www.trackashketchum.com before! Good thing too, because I have people from all around the world make voices of you and Ash and whoever has the best sounding voice like yours-,” May paused dramatically. “GETS TO SEE YOU PUT BEHIND BARS!......LIVE!” she grinned mischieviously. “You-you-wouldn’t do that!” “Haven’t you learned that I would? Anyway, here’s the best one.” May played the tape recorder, and to Misty’s surprise, sounded exactly like her. “I’m Misty Waterflower and I totally stole from May White’s house! Listen to the CD Violet! Or better yet, listen to it on the CD player I also stole from May! Oh, yeah her clothes fit me perfectly too! Isn’t that great?! Wait, is this recording? I don’t want it to know I stole from May! AGHHH! Turn it off! Turn it off! ” the voice yelled. Misty was shocked. This was horrible! Nothing was ever right for her! May cackled with delight, her eyes glinting. “Ok May! I’ll go to jail!” Misty said. “Perfect! Now, let’s go find an officer and then we can-,” “But I’m taking Ash with me!” Misty grinned. This was it. She was mad. REALLY mad. “OFFICER! I NEED AN OFFICER, PRONTO!” May was standing on the table now, waving her arms. Security then came, picked Misty up in the air and carried her outside, while May followed, smiling pleasantly. “Now listen, and listen good! I told you I always got what I wanted didn’t I? No? Well now I did.” May said smugly. “ By-by Misty!” “Uh…. guys? Where are you two?” Ash asked, just coming out of the restroom. Chapter 9: Jail, Escape! “Misty! Hurry up!” Ash Ketchum said, kicking the guards in their you- know-whats, stunning the security to drop Misty to the ground. Misty jumped up. She knew what would happen if they were to get caught again. They ran into a dark alley, and jumped into a cardboard box, closing the lid. They stayed in it for hours, it seemed, until finally, they ran out and back to Misty’s house, the closest one, only three blocks away. --- Epilogue: “Oh, Ash! Our 2nd date and it’s been great!” Misty said, blushing. “I knew you’d like it Misty! Well, it’s been great seeing you!” Ash said, turning to leave. “But I love to train more than I love you.” “ASH KETCHUM!” “God, Misty! Can’t you take a joke?” --- “Ash Ketchum you’re mine.” May said to herself. Then, just to make sure, she added, “No matter what.” The End…
