Disclaimer: By the way, for all the stories I write, I do not own Pokemon! Misty: 18 Valerie: 18 Ash: 18 Misty looked at her watch. In five minutees the clothes store would open. She was going to learn to dress like a girl, not a tomboy. She went into the store and bought the most expensive outfits she could afford. She tried them on. She groaned. She did NOT want to be seen like this everyday. People might think she’d come straight from a bar! She sighed. How could Valerie pull this outfit off? Misty was going to try to change into a whole new person. New hair, new clothes, new attitude. But wait, that meant Misty would have to drop her mallet…She cussed under her breath. This was going to be hard. She walked out of the store, to find a thunder storm. She hadn’t brought an umbrella, so she ran all the way to her car. Finally! Misty heaved a sigh of relief. She was home. She went to her room. Who did she see? Ash! Misty grunted. Ash and Valerie had been together for four months, and they still weren’t tired of eachother! They were up in his room, talking to eachother. Then the talking turned to screaming. Misty cringed. Couldn’t they fight somewhere else? She made sure Ash’s curtain was closed before she tried on her new outfit. Finally! Ash had gotten Valerie to go home! Sure, he liked her, but he wanted someone more down-to-earth and not a drama queen….he opened his curtain to see what Misty was doing. She never closed her curtain. He whistled under his breath. She was changing clothes! Misty stared out her window and saw Ash’s open. “Ash Ketchum, you close your curtains! I mean it! Now!” Misty shrieked. “Huh?” Ash replied, staring at her. “Oh, yeah, sorry Misty.” Ash grinned. “Valerie and I had the best time today, well, before the fight! She told me how you and her use to be best friends but then something changed when you were like 12 but she won’t tell me what it was..and then she said you two became friends again!” Ash kept talking. “Great, Ash…” “Hey, we’re going to a basketball game Friday! You wanna come with us?” Ash asked quickly. “And be a third wheel? No, I don’t think so.” Misty muttered. “Sorry, Misty, I didn’t hear you. What’d you say?” Ash said. “Sure Ash,” Misty said unenthusiastically. “Great, see you there!” Ash waved goodbye, getting into his car and driving home. “Yeah, GREAT.” Misty muttered to herself. “Yeah! Go Blaze!” Valerie and Misty cheered, while Ash had his arms around Valerie’s waist, smiling. “Oh, Ash? Would you go get me some more soda sweetie?” “Well, the line is kinda long and I kinda wanna watch the game.” Ash replied. “But, you’d do it for me, wouldn’t you?” “Yeah, sure, I guess.” “Thanks, honey.” Valerie said sweetly. Ash groaned. While he got his two sodas, he watched the game from the bigscreen tv. It had been 20 minutes and he hadn’t even moved a spot. “Misty..” Valerie asked quietly. “Yes?” Misty stammered. “Why did you come? Ash invited you because he felt sorry for you.” Valerie said, grabbing her popcorn bag. She’d gotten extra butter, just the way she liked it. She got a huge handful of popcorn out of it. Misty screeched, knowing what she was gonna do. Valerie threw the popcorn on Misty and pushed her onto the ground. Then she dumped the bag over Misty, especially over her hair. Ash walked into their aisle. “What happened Misty?” he said quickly pulling her up. “She fell.” Valerie said sweetly. “I tried to pull her up but I just wasn’t strong enough! I knew I needed a strong man to help me.” She kissed him on the cheek. Misty’s eyes stung. No, not because of the popcorn, but because of tears. “Oh, and the soda? I wanted ROOT BEER.” Valerie said, grabbing the soda out of his hands and pointing to the concessions. Ash slowly walked back. Another hour of waiting. “Now that he’s gone,” Valerie said quickly. Misty tried to get up, but Valerie pushed her back down. She took the lid off the soda, and poured it all over Misty. “Ash is mine! So please, make use of yourself and clean this mess up.” Ash came in just then, seeing Valerie with her foot on Misty. “What are you doing to her?!” “Huh?! Oh, um, nothing Ash just, trying to, um, help her up!” “Do you think I’m stupid?” “What? No!” “Oh, I get it. You’re jealous of Misty.” “What?! NO! What’s there to be jealous of?” Valerie scoffed. Misty lay in the aisle, helpless. “What’s there to be jealous of?! You jerk!” Misty screeched. “Well, I mean seriously, Misty you’ve got nothing. No good looks, no friends, no sense of style, and no (she paused) no life.” Valerie finished. “Ash! Say something!” Misty eyed him pleadingly. Ash quickly looked away. “Ash?” Misty whispered. She was crying now. She lost Valerie, she couldn’t lose him. “Say something! Or are you gonna side with Valerie?” “Valerie.” Ash said quietly. Misty couldn’t believe it. “What?” Misty said, holding back her tears. “You heard him.” Valerie said. Misty looked at Valerie. She walked up the stairs, and left the game. “Misty, wait!” Ash yelled, and followed after her.
