	Misty walked into Hoppin Hoppits, the café in town. She was supposed to be 
meeting Ash here. But where was he? She looked around. He ditched her!! That jerk!

	“I don’t know May…” Ash shrugged. “Why would Misty ditch me?”
	“Don’t you get it? She set you up! Valerie overheard her talking to her friends 
about it!” May said, stifling a giggle.
	“No, May. Misty wouldn’t do that.” Ash said quickly. Or would she? he thought, 
but got rid of that thought. “I’m going home.” Ash said, and left. He saw Misty was there. 
They looked into eachother’s eyes, and they now knew everything that had happened. 
Ash opened his window. Misty, knowing he wanted to talk to her, did the same. 
	“You going to prom?” Ash asked.
	“No one’s asked me.” Misty sighed.
	“I wish you were.” Ash smiled, and closed his window and curtains, getting in his 
tuxedo and tie.

Misty stared at her computer. She was independent. She would go to prom even if a boy 
hadn’t asked her. Girl power. She got dressed and headed to her car. She had no limo, 
just a pickup truck. She came to the prom. She opened the door. She looked for Ash. Yep, 
the face gawking at her was him. Her bright orange hair was tamed and straightened. Her 
white dress glowed in the light. Her curelean blue eyes dazzled. She walked up to Ash.
	“Surprise,” she said.
	Ash walked towards her. Valerie grabbed his arm, but Ash pulled away. They 
didn’t have to say anything. Ash leaned in. He leaned in, their lips pressing together. 
Misty smiled. 

  Can't you see that I'm the one who understand you?

      Valerie screamed at May. Their plan had failed! She screamed and yelled. May 
waited for her to stop.
      “At least they’re happy.” May said.
Valerie screamed again.
