Part 3

Few hours later, Ash and co were almost crossed over Olivander city’s boarders when a feminine voice stopped them.

“Wait!”

All: Huh?!

Mi: It’s Nurse Joy!

As: What could she want?

Br: What else? She has come for me! Finally my love was

accepted by THE most beautiful, adorable, understanding

Nurse Joy!

Mi: He’s total insane….

N.Joy: I have been looking all over for you.

Suddenly, Brock fell on one knee, as he placed his hands around hers.

Br: And I have been looking for you all my life!

N.Joy: He he…

Br: How about me and I I I-!!!

Nurse Joy was caught off guard by Brock’s actions and at that moment didn’t know what to do or say to him.

Misty showed up and grabbed his ear, pulling him away.

Ash came near to Nurse Joy.

Ash: Why were you looking for us?

N.Joy: A Pidgey mail came for you and it’s said urgent outside, so

I’m making sure you get it quickly.

Ash: Thanks Nurse Joy.

N.Joy: Goodbye.

Mi: What is it, Ash?

Ash: It’s a letter from Prof. Oak.

Br: What does it say?

Ash tears the parcel and unfolds the letter, as all four silently read it, even though, Pikachu can’t read!

Ash: It says we have to go to Goldenrod city and take the magnet

train for Saffron city, where his college will meet us at the

city’s Pokecenter.

He say’s is urgent.

Mi: We can’t say no if is urgent, can we?

Br: It will take us a few days to reach Goldenrod.

“Not necessarily!”

A Meowth air balloon appeared into the sky above their heads. Three figures were in the basket.

Ash: God, why me?

Prepare for trouble!

Make it double!

To protect our world from division!

Unite the people in our nation!

Jessie!

James!

Team Rocket blasts at the speed of light!

Surrender your pokemon or we knock out your lights!

Meow, that’s right!

Br: Aren’t you fed up of chasing us around for all these years?

Je: To be honest…NO!

Ja: No, not until we capture Pikachu!

Ash: Pikachu, give it your best shot…

Mi: Ash, wait! We could use their balloon and reach Goldenrod

city less than a day.

Br: But how?

Ash stepped forward and took off his hat as if he’s surrendering from a fatal defeat.

Ash: Team Rocket, I admire your power and I always thought that

your cunning and disguises are becoming far superior.
I’m not a match for or obstacle to your great goal.

Here, take Pikachu and let me be.

He said as he picked up Pikachu in his hands and lifted him up.

Mi: Ash, no!

Br: This isn’t the way, man!

Je: It looks rather suspicious. We didn’t do anything yet.

Ja: Still how many chances have we getting our hands on Pikachu?

Me: One in a zillion. I could use my Pik-arm just in case we’re

being tricked, meow.

Ja: Good idea, Meowth.

Je: Goody, goody, we’ve Pikachu and do you know what it means?

Ja: Credit of recognition!

Je: Lots of cash!

Me: Food! Come here, Pikachu!

An electronic claw stretched out, grabbed Pikachu from Ash and brought it upwards the basket.

T.R: WE’VE GOT PIKACHU!

Me: Hey, what is Pikachu holding?

Ja: It looks like a pokeball.

Je: Thanks, twerp, for giving us a pokeball! Pokeball go!

Jessie threw the pokeball at Pikachu, but he hit it with his tail. It bounced up again, revealing a red light, which slowly formed into a pokemon.

“Hou hou!”

Je: It’s Noctowl!

Me: Is it a bonus gift?

Ash: Hardly. Noctowl, use Hypnosis!

T.R: WHAT?!

Noctowl’s eyes and body reddened from its psychic attack, which can hypnotize its opponent to sleep. And it did just that.

All three T.R members fell into a deep sleep.

Ash: Good job, Noctowl. Now pull the balloon down here from

those ropes!

Noctowl obeyed Ash’s commands and Pikachu jumped in his arms

“Pika pikapi!” (We tricked them Ash!)

“Hou hou!” (What numbskulls!)

Ash: Yeah, we’re a great team. Now, lets lay them next to those

trees and then we’re off.

Mi: Very sneaky of you, Ash. But still T.R isn’t hard to foul.

Br: At least they weren’t empty-handed.

Ash: Yeah.

All: Hahahaha!

They laughed as they flew away with T.R’s air balloon.

Jessie, James and Meowth were still sleeping soundly under the apple trees.

A ‘thank you’ note was placed on Meowth’s lap.

Part 4

Hours later, at Pallet Town, Prof. Oak is packing his briefcase with some help from Tracey.

Oak: Tracey, did you pack all my research notes in my case?

Tra: Yes, Prof. Oak. But what shall I do with this?

Tracey showed him an old wooden box on which were strange looking letters with eyes etched on it.

Oak: No, this one I’ll examined that when I return.

Tra: Okay, I’ll just place it somewhere safe for the time being.

DDDIIIIINNNNNN!

Tra: Who could that be at this time of the day?

As soon as Tracey left the room, the wooden box glowed and magically lifted itself up from the desk and landed in Prof. Oak’s suitcase. Then it covered itself with some clothes.

Oak: Open the door, Tracey! Oh, my… I’m late!

Tracey opened the door to reveal a suitcase outside.

Tra: Prof. Oak a suitcase wants you!

“Mime!” (Hey!)

Tra: Oh, sorry Mr. Mime.

Oak: What did you say? A suitcase?!

Tra: No, it’s Mr. Mime carrying a suitcase.

Prof. Oak came to the room holding his suitcase with his right hand and briefcase with his left. The sounds of a helicopter were just audible as it approached Oak’s house.

Oak: Mr. Mime? What is he doing here?

De: Hi professor!

Delia said as she appeared at the door wearing a T-shirt and jeans.

Oak: What’s the occasion? Are you going on holiday?

De: No, I’ve just decided to come with you.

Oak: Why? I’m going to meet up some scientists, nothing for a

lady to get involved in.

De: Not when her son is also involved. Besides, I haven’t seen

my boy for months now. And I won’t take no for an answer!

Oak: Okay, suit yourself, but I’m warning you it might be

dangerous.

She nodded and followed Prof. Oak over to the helicopter, as soon as it landed at the heliport.

Ash and the others arrived at Goldenrod City, where they took the Magnet Train to Saffron. Their trip hadn’t take more than 30 min.

And the Pokecenter wasn’t far from the train station.

Mi: We’re here, but where’s Prof. Oak’s colleague?

Ash: Maybe we’re too early.

Br: Maybe not. Look who’s over there!

As/Mi: Prof. Elm?!

Elm: Huh? Oh, you’ve arrived. How nice… well, better move on.

Follow me.

Professor Elm walked outside and got into his private helicopter.

Ash, Misty and Brock followed silently.

As the helicopter flew above Saffron City…

Je: Look, the twerps!

Ja: Those villains! How could they steal from us?

Je: We’re the ones who were supposed to steal, not be stolen from.

Me: Hey, look!

Ja: Isn’t it…

T.R: OUR BALLOON!

They tossed their binoculars away as they ran and jumped into the basket. They were happy to see their favorite air transportation once more.

James lit the gas cylinder of the balloon.

Ja: Where to?

Je: Where else? Follow that helicopter, you bean brain.

Me: Remember those twerps often find rare pokemon and

when we capture one…

T.R: Fortune, here we come!

Me: Meow!

Meanwhile on board the helicopter, as it flew over the ocean, Ash could no longer control his curiosity.

Ash: Where are we going, Prof.?

Elm: To an island, of course.

Beads of nervous sweat appeared on the brows of Ash and co as the Professor continues talking.

Elm: Well, we could have traveled by boat, but it would have taken

days. Bec-

Mi: Okay, we’re going to an island, but why have we been called

to come from the Johto region?

Ash: She’s right. What’s the great urgency?

Br: For the first time, they’ve agreed on something.

Ash’s and Misty’s cheeks redden in embarrassment and as Brock happens to be sitting between them, receives a nudge in his sides from both of them.

Br: Ouch! Ouch! oooh…That’s painful…

Elm: Well, first of all I don’t know.

More perspiration droplets appear on their foreheads.

Elm: But Prof. Oak’s e-mail said that Cinnabar island is in great

danger, because a new pokemon had appeared.

Ash: How do we fit into this mess?

Elm: Well, Prof. Oak asked few trainers to help us out, but it

seems that you’re the only one who accepted…

These days no one seems to have any spare time, even to

save the world.

Br: That pokemon you mentioned. Who is it?

Elm: That’s the main point. It seems it’s a new kind, which means

we haven’t a clue. But with Prof. Oak and me we’ll crack this

case.

Mi: And all this happened in Cinnabar. Where exactly?

Elm: In the volcano. In such heat, this pokemon should

definitely be a fire-type or rock-type, but who knows for sure?

Ash: But isn’t Blaine’s gym inside the volcano?

Br: Yes, of course, now I remember. Blaine and his powerful Magmar, with Charizard fought about 4 years ago.

Elm: At last we’ve arrived and it looks as if we’re right on time.

As they landed Ash, Brock and Misty, as well as Pikachu, looked curiously out of the window. There below was the camp with five large blue tents and several outdoor desks complete with laptops, plus heavy equipment for use by the scientists, who were now gathering around campsite.

Brock pointed to one of them.
