Title: A Jasmine Tinted Dawn by Apple Martini Part One Ash, Misty, May, Broch and Max entered the Pokemon Center. It was the afternoon, and before they went out to the forest for their intense training they wanted to take a break and eat. “I’ll take six cheeseburgers,” Ash told the fast food cashier. “How nice, Ash.” said May. “You’re treating us.” “Oh right.” said Ash. “And 4 more for my friends.” “There is no way you’re eating 6 burgers,” said May. “It’s possible,” said Misty. “Ash can eat a lot.” “Okay, that’ll be 9.84,” the cashier added everything up. “Crap!” exclaimed Ash. “I only have 9 even.” He took the bills out and turned his pockets inside out. “Well,” the cashier said. “You can get nine cheeseburgers, then.” “I guess one of you won’t be getting one,” Ash told his annoyed friends. "That won't be necessary," said a girl behind them in line. She looked about Misty's age, with medium length straight, pretty light brown hair in a ponytail in the back. She was slender and cute. She gave the cashier an extra dollar. "Thanks," said Ash, the first to speak up. "You didn't have to do that," Misty said to the girl. "Ash could've ate 5 instead of three burgers. He's a selfish pig!" "I don't mind," said the girl. "Everyone has to eat." She turned around and ordered herself some nachos and a cranberry apple juice. "What's your name?" Broch asked the girl. "You look familiar." "Broch, just give up," said Max. "I don't mind," said the girl. "My name's Jasmine." "That name rings a bell," said Broch. The group went to a table to sit and eat. "So what are you doing here at this city?" asked Ash. "First of all, because there's this fancy trainer's party I was invited to. Second of all, I'm training hard for when I go to challenge for my last gym badge." "Really?" said Ash. "So am I." "Well maybe the two of you should battle," said Max. "I'd love some competition," Ash and Jasmine said in unison. "I'd love to see Ash lose," May and Misty giggled to each other. Jasmine finished off her nachos. "It'll be a three on three battle. Fair play, promise?" "Of course," Ash replied, stuffing his 4th burger in his mouth. Just then Jasmine's cellphone rang. "Hold on a minute," said Jasmine. "It's Professor Birch." Everyone was silent so Jasmine could talk. She covered her mouth with her hands."...Yes, I know. I'll meet him here. Of course... Sure, bye." "What was that about?" asked Broch. "Nothing," said Jasmine. "Professor Birch wanted me to meet someone. I'm looking for a partner in the Battle Tournament coming up and he thinks maybe I should ask this boy. The boy's supposed to be coming here." "So is he a good pokemon trainer too?" Max asked. "He better!" said Jasmine. "But he's a little ahead of me. He's actually got his badges." Everyone nodded understandably. "So are you ready, or what?" Jasmine asked Ash. * * * * The 6 of them went out to the forest for the battle. Jasmine used Blazikan, Espeon, and Milotic. Ash used Pikachu, Crawdunt (evolved from Corphish), and Grovyle. AT the end, it came down to just Espeon and Crawdunt. It was a tough and close match. Crawdunt attacked at Espeon with a crabhammer and Espeon launched at a tackle. "DO it now!" yelled Jasmine. There was big boom, and dust got kicked all up. When it cleared, there was Crawdunt, completele knocked out on the ground. Jasmine was the winner. "I used protect at the last minute," Jasmine exclaimed."Crawdunt bounced right off the forcefield and knocked himself out." "Ash," Misty ran out to the pokemon battle field. "Are you OK?" She knew Ash didn't handle losing well. "That was totally cool!" said Ash. "Jasmine, you have to teach me everything you know," May smiled. "What other pokemon do you have?" she asked Jasmine. "Delcatty, Breloom, and Beautifly." Jasmine told them. "I have a Skitty and a Beautifly!" exclaimed May. Then another trainer with approached them all. Ash, Misty, and Broch's mouth dropped open. "Uh, do we know you?" said May. "This must be Gary," Jasmine introduced everyone to him. He had brown hair and green cargo pants and a black shirt. "Right?" The boy nodded."Yep, that's me." * * * * * * * * * That night Ash left the PokeCenter late to sit by the river by himself. He didn't even bring pikachu with him. He had a lot on his mind. He didn't want to admit it, but he was worried. He didn't think Gary deserved to partner with her. Now, after seeing her battle, he wanted to partner with her at the Tournament. But then that might offend Misty, and make May feel left out. And he definetely didn't want that. But he couldn't let Gary snatch something else up good from out in front of his face. Then Gary came outside! He had noticed Ash leaving and was coming to bother him some more. "Got a partner for the tournament yet?" Gary asked Ash. "I bet you're going to pick Misty or May." "Maybe I will," said Ash. "Suit yourself. Tomorrow I ask Jasmine," he told Ash. "We'll go to the tournament and win the two on two battles, and then its back to the center for some one on one." "Your going to battle her?" said Ash. "Battle," said Gary, smirking. "Right. You can call it that, I guess, if you want to." "What!" said Ash, catching on to Gary's statement."No, you can't do that!" "She's too nice not to," Gary said. "She's pretty and vulnerable. I just have to sweet talk her and..." "Don't even think about it!" said Ash. "She's innocent, you hear me! Innocent!" "She won't be when I am done with her. Are you mad? Jealous perhaps?" Gary told Ash. "Jealous of what?" Jasmine came running down the hill to the two of them. "Want to be my partner in the Battle Tournament?" said Ash and Gary at the same time. *************************************TO BE CONTINUED IN PART 2**********************************************************
