The Memories Within an Aquamarine Charizard By Aquamarine Category~ OT Email~ aquadragon_@hotmail.com Part 2 Maya closed her eyes and desperately tried to remember everything. She could remember a little. Her name, a black charizard, her power, a green dragon, and a rainbow-colored light. She sighed and opened her eyes. She couldn’t remember what she had been. She would have to rely on instinct. The door to the room opened, and a boy wearing a black shirt, jeans, and black/blue jacket walked in. His black hair was longer, his bangs fell to cover half of his brilliant blue eyes. He was at least three inches taller than her, but the same age. He smiled nervously, and gave her a little wave. She almost laughed, almost. She decided then and there that she was going to find out what happened to her. “Who are you? Where am I? How did I get here? Where’s Shukumei?” he smiled and held up his hands to stop the flurry of questions. “Okay, I’m Alex Saustre, a pokemon Trainer. You’re in a hospital. I found you up in the mountains, and you were pretty beat up. I was going to take you to Lavaridge, but for some reason I just went to Rustboardo. Um, I don’t know who that Shuku-person you’re talking about is.” he said. “My charizard. She’s black with blue eyes. Wasn’t she with me?” Maya asked, and he shook his head . She sat up again, this time ignoring the pain. “We have to find her. How do you get out of here? Whatever, hurry up!” she said franticly. “Whoa, hold on. Who are you? Why was that necklace you’re wearing glowing? What were you doing up there?” he asked. “My name is Maya. I have a power that I channel through my necklace. The rest is absolutely none of your business,” she said stiffly, but it wasn’t as though she knew the answer to the last question anyway. He flinched, but then looked thoughtful. He took out a small poke ball, which enlarged. He tossed it, and a male charizard came out. Alex watched in amazement as Flame and Maya immediately began speaking in Charizard language. When they finished talking, Flame nodded his head and Maya smiled. “Are you a Trainer, Maya?” Alex asked. She shook her head. “Is there some way I can become one? Either way, we have to find Shukumei. Flame has agreed to help me, will you?” she asked hopefully. He nodded. “Are you feeling well enough to leave? The nurse will have my head if you aren’t. We need to get you some new clothes, and get you registered.” He helped her up, and served as a crutch. Maya’s right wrist and ankle were still sprained, so Alex pretty much had to make sure she didn’t fall over. At the mall, Maya came out of the dressing room wearing baggy jeans, black and purple shoes, two layered shirts (bottom black, top purple), and a black sweatshirt. She had put in two barrettes, guess which colors, to hold back the hair that had covered half of her face. Alex looked at her while she was putting on her black and purple gloves, thinking about how pretty she was. She gave him a questioning look, and he smiled. “Like black and purple do you?” he said jokingly. He grabbed her hand, causing her to blush, though she hadn’t the slightest idea why. They positioned themselves into crutch mode again. “The registration desk is this way, girlie.” he said, guiding her to the right. They came to the mall’s Pokemon Center and Nurse Joy gave them some forms to fill out, which she handed back a moment later. She received a black Pokedex and several small black/purple poke balls, which she put into the purple bag she had gotten. “Are we going to find Shukumei now?” She asked as they hobbled out of the mall. He nodded and tossed out Flame’s poke ball. He helped her, then hopped aboard himself. As they flew towards the mountains, Maya stiffened. Alex looked at her curiously, but didn’t interrupt her as she closed her eyes. Maya quickly found her charizard’s aura, but it was weak. She gave the directions to Flame through her mind, and she soon came into view. When they were still about 20 feet above the ground she jumped off. She landed with a cry of pain. “Maya! Are you crazy?!” shouted Alex, and jumped off at five feet. He helped her up, but she broke from his grip, heading unsteadily towards her friend. Stumbling and falling, she reached her and gave her a small vile of Revive. It’s eyes opened, as Maya grabbed her into a hug. “Shukumei! You’re all right now, right? I’m a Trainer now! Wanna get in a poke ball?” Maya explained excitedly. The dragon got up and nodded. Maya made herself more comfortable on the ground and tossed one of her balls toward her. In a flash of light, Shukumei vanished into the ball, which showed no resistance. Alex came up behind her and patted her head. She smiled as he helped her up. “Don’t EVER do that again! You had me worried sick!” he said, panting. Maya apologized and remembered something. “Oh yeah! Come back out, Shukumei!” she said, tossing out the poke ball again. Shukumei growled happily at her. “Shukumei, this is Alex! Alex, this is Shukumei, kay? Mei, Alex saved me earlier, and he’s my best friend! What do you think?” Maya said. Shukumei came up and sniffed him. He smiled. You always pick peculiar friends, Flame-Sister. But he will do. Just tell stork-boy that if he hurts you, he will answer to me. She said to Maya. She laughed and relayed what she said, including the stork-boy part. “‘Stork-boy’? I’m not that skinny am I? Whatever.” He turned to Shukumei and bowed. “I accept the responsibilities, O Wise One.” Maya laughed, but lost balance, for she had most of her weight on one foot. Alex caught her and held her up again. “Oh, um, Alex?” he looked at her. “What do Trainers do?” He raised his eyebrows, and thought, This is going to be a long day.
