The Memories Within an Aquamarine Charizard By Aquamarine aquadragon_@hotmail.com (OT) Part 4A Maya threw a pokeball at the weakened skitty. It resisted, then they heard the lovely tone. Maya picked the pokeball up happily and showed it to Alex. “Ha! I told you I could catch one before eight,” said Maya. “You just THINK you did.” he said, waving a hand. “I know I did! It’s 7:45!” “In a parallel universe time goes faster than our time. And today our universe and that universe are side by side so in our universe--”Alex went on like this for about five minutes, until Maya held up a hand. “What? I completely lost track of what you were saying.” she said. “Yeah, so did I,” he said, laughing. “Stop fooling around, we have to get through the forest!” said Maya. “Race you,” he said, starting to run. Maya laughed and ran after him. They bolted through the forest, stopping only for Maya to catch a beautifly. Alex burst through the doors of the Petalburg Pokemon Center, Maya on his heels. He tripped on a rug and hit his head on a couch. Maya tripped over him and landed upside down on top of the couch. “Slow down! Someone might get hurt!” cried Nurse Joy, from behind the couch. She hid a smile as she saw the way they landed. Alex rubbed his head and grinned sheepishly at her. Maya stuck her tongue out at him. They handed their pokeballs to Nurse Joy and went to eat breakfast. “So do you want to fly or surf to Dewford? I have a Lapras that I can transfer from Jhoto if you want.” said Alex, as Maya flipped out her Pokedex. ++++Note: I didn’t find the pokedex reading of Lapras, so I made it up++++ ‘Lapras: The Water Carrier Pokemon. Lapras in the wild travel in groups, called pods. One that gets separated from a pod is usually thrown into a deep depression until it’s returned to its pod or finds happiness by other means. Over the centuries, Lapras have become famous by carrying people across the sea, and are most often respected for their nature. However, many our endangered because of poaching. Modern researchers and scientists have brought the task of breeding Lapras into captivity.’ “I love flying but surfing would be pretty cool. How long does it take?” asked Maya. “Much longer than flying, and there will be plenty of Trainers who will want to battle.” he warned. “I think I can beat all of them. Besides, how many could there be?” *** Maya groaned in frustration. She had battled about twenty Trainers and Dewford was still no where in sight. She was utterly exhausted, and was starting to see spots. Despite that, Maya had completely refused Alex’s offer to take over. Alex snuck up behind her and picked her up, she started. He walked up to the middle of Lapras’s shell and set her on her bedroll. “Time to sleep, I’ll handle the rest.” he told her, pulling the blanket on her. She sat up and opened her mouth to protest. “No, just rest. You can battle again when you wake up,” said Alex, pushing her back down gently. “Fine, you doofus.” said Maya, pouting. But she soon shut her eyes. Alex grinned, knowing that once Maya went to sleep, she was out. He watched her, hearing her breath slow, and felt a warm rush go through his veins. Seeing a Trainer in the corner of his eye, he shook his head to clear it. What was wrong with him? But that was happening to him a lot lately, and he kept feeling that little rush of heat through the entire battle. He won, and sat next to Maya, watching the sun disappear below the horizon. Maya saw two strange dragon-bird pokemon look at her. The looked alike, one blue, one red, and their shapes were a little different. Their eyes glowed, and powerful voice filled her mind like thunder. AWAKEN!
