Part 1
This is my new story and I like it! I hope you do too! ^_^


	Carina yawned and got out of bed. She looked at her clock, her eyes 
widened, she had gotten up WAY too early for her liking. Oh Well. Today was 
Carina Oak's 12th birthday. She was going to get her Pokemon license! Her 
dad was Gary Oak, he was somewhat nicer now, he had taken over her Great 
Grampa's laboratory and his research.  So Carina didn't have to worry about 
getting there late. Carina had lavender hair worn shoulder length in soft 
curls. She had baby blue eyes and her looks were the definition of 
tranquility. Too bad Carina's personality wasn't like that. After deciding on 
some shorts and a blue spaghetti-strapped shirt to start her journey with, 
she saw her purple backpack stuffed full of potions and other items. Across 
her bedroom she saw a Pokeball with a big bow around it, $20, and her 
license. She ran upstairs and thanked her dad, then ran outside to see what 
was inside of the ball.
	"Go Pokeball" Carina said as she threw the ball. The ball opened and let 
a red beam of energy out, then snapped back into her hand. "Houndour?" it 
said looking around at it's surroundings. "WOW!! A Houndour, I've always 
wanted one" she gasped "Come here Houndour." Slowly Houndour sniffed her 
face, then wagged it's tail and started licking Carina's face. "You need a 
name" she said giggling "how about Flame?" The Houndour wagged it's tail in 
delight. "I'll take that as a yes " she laughed "Well let's get going!" 
	Carina and Flame were sitting underneath the shade of a tree looking 
through the backpack. "Hmmm… We have some potions, antidotes, and 
things… HEY! Another $10, and some pokechow. " Flame nudged Carina to get 
her to look up. When she did "A Mareep! Go Flame!" The fire puppy jumped 
and spit an ember at it. The Mareep caught fire and ran around in circles 
panicking. After a while it fainted. "Good job Flame, Pokeball go," she said 
tossing the ball with a flick of her wrist. It shook a couple of times then she 
heard a PING. "YES! I caught my first Pokemon!" Carina yelled jumping up 
and down. Flame caught her excitement and ran around the bouncing girl.
	She revived Mareep with a berry she found growing on a bush. "Your 
name will be Shock" Carina told the sheep. She held her breathe hoping the 
Mareep would except her as it's trainer, because some newly caught Pokemon 
took a while to trust. It stared for a moment then it snuggled up to her, 
Carina smiled and hugged it's soft wool. "Hey you" said a voice. She turned 
around to find a boy with black hair. "Wanna battle," he said, "I'm Mike". 
"You're on" Carina said while standing up.
	"A one on one Pokemon battle" Mike said "Go Pidgey!" "In that case I 
choose Shock!" Carina said. "Pidgey tackle attack now!" The tackle hit Shock 
which slid back a few inches, but stood it's ground. "Again!" the boy yelled. 
"Shock dodge it!" Carina yelled "Good! Now use Thundershock!" The bird was 
jolted by the sheep Pokemon and hit the ground. "That was a good battle" 
Mike said, "Maybe I'll see you again someday". He handed her $5 for prize 
money, recalled his Pidgey, then he walk off into the woods. "WE WON!" 
Carina yelled while hugging the Mareep "Great job Shock!!"
	Later- Carina had just entered Viridian City. On the way there she 
caught a Pidgey of her own whom she nicknamed Talon. Then she headed 
toward the gym with Flame tagging at her heels, the suddenly she remember 
she had to register first and she should probably go to the Pokemon Center.
	"Hello and welcome to the Viridian City Pokemon Center, how may I 
help you today?" said Nurse Joy. "I'd like to register so I can take on the 
gym leader!" she answered anxiously. "Ok, I need your Pokedex" Joy said. 
"Umm…" she dug around in her purple bag "here". Carina handed her the 
Pokedex. "Now, what is your name and age?" "I'm Carina Oak and I'm 12 years 
old". "Ok, your all set. Would you like me to check your Pokemon while you're 
here?" Nurse Joy asked. "Sure, Flame go with Nurse Joy, and here is Shock 
and Talon" Carina said handing over her pokeballs. Flame whimpered not 
wanting to leave her side. "It's ok, I'll stay right here in the building with 
you" she reassured her Houndour. 
	"Your Pokemon are healed and ready for adventure now," Nurse Joy 
said as she came out "All of them were perfectly healthy". "Thanks" she said 
after getting her pokeballs and Flame, then she hurried out the door. "Well, 
Flame lets go win a badge!!" The puppy barked and wagged its tail. Halfway 
there she practically jumped at out of her skin by a large crash and some 
screaming. She ran as fast as she could toward the noise…
