This is about my own pokemon version, and yes, Amber is a jewel, or is used as 
jewelry. In the dictionary, it says that amber is a mineralized yellow or yellow-brown 
fossil resin used for jewelry. I’m going to have another version coming out too. But don’t 
worry, they’re not going to be the same like Sapphire and Ruby-Aspendragon (The first 
part will be first person)

The Ponyta With Wings-Part One

	“Now, everyone, this roll in my hand will tell us the passing students, are you all ready?” Mr. Throxwood asked, 
everyone in the auditorium nodded. He unrolled the parchment and began reading out the names.
	“Sophia Lakes!” he shouted out first, a girl around eleven, with short brown hair and dark green eyes, hopped out 
of her seat and nervously walked up the stage stairs and received a poke’ball from Miss Cloverdale, the assistant principal. 
Teachers and students applauded as she took her seat and started chatting and giggling with her friends.
	“Lexie Clevenhood!” he shouted again, a boy of eleven jumped up instantly, he had round glasses and short red 
hair and light green eyes, he had freckles all over his face. He quickly went up the stage and received his poke’ball and 
hurried down as everyone clapped.
	“Maxie Woode!” another girl of eleven skipped down the isle and up the stage stairs and picked up her poke’ball 
and skipped back down with everyone applauding.
	Hi, I’m Amber Starr, I’m have been waiting for this day, to get my first pokemon and finally leave this place. 
This school was called Super Tech Elementary, if you didn’t graduate into a trainer this year, you had to go on to Super 
Tech Junior High! But I know I’m going to get my pokemon today! I just know it! Oh, yeah, everyone here is eleven, in the 
auditorium I mean. Everyone had the same uniform on. Girls had knee-long skirts that were pink and had white trimmings, 
we also have long-sleeved shirts with collars. Our shirts were pink too, but with two bold letters, ‘ST’ which stands for Super 
Tech. Boys have pants down to their ankles, their uniforms were light blue, along with short-sleeved shirts tucked under 
belted pants. Well, I have super light blonde hair, which looks white. I have turquoise eyes and I work out often. But since 
there isn’t a fitness center. I have to get up early and run for two hours and climb trees. Usually, I play with the pokemon 
around me too.
	“Roger McGraw!”
	“Katelynn Jennings!”
	“Jony Ribberson!”
	“Jessie Lansing!”
	“Robbie Cores!”
	“Marcie Loonson!”
	“Kine Koberston!”
	“Leon Farmart!”
	“Kasey Carter!”
	“Vincent Lavendar!” Everyone waited till all the students sat down, than Mr. Throxwood shouted again.
	“Now, the two top students that get the two special pokemon are…” everyone held their breath, I crossed my 
fingers.
	“Wing Starsin!” he shouted, a boy with bright blue hair with short hair in the back but long bangs and golden eyes 
walked up to the stage. All the girls started giggling except me. 
	“And! Amber Starr!” he shouted, I couldn’t believe it! My heart pounded hard as I walked up to the stage, 
everyone started applauding loudly as me and Wing received out poke’balls and went back to our seats. Nobody spoke to me. 
I knew why, I have been here for four years and haven’t made a single friend due to my stupid silence and shyness, but I did 
have boy drool on me wherever I went. But I made up in cleverness and in brains. I knew I deserved this pokemon, for I 
worked hard these years for a friend.
	“Now everyone! Do not release your pokemon till you are outside! And remember to receive your poke’dex and 
poke’balls at the front office before you leave!” Mr.Throxwood announced, “Dismiss!” Everyone piled out of the room and 
onto the playground where everyone who graduated released his or her pokemon.
	“Go! Poke’ball!” I shouted. The ball opened and released a bright red light. It quickly took the form of a 
pokemon.
	“Ponnyyy!” the pony pokemon cried, she recognized this pokemon immediately. It was ponyta! A fire-type!
	“Hi ponyta! Wouldn’t mind having a name would you?” I asked, she shook her head as she nuzzled her head onto 
my body.
	“What about…Firefly?” I asked, she nodded cheerfully. I looked around. Sophia Lakes got an eevee for which I 
heard her call Muffin. Lexie Clevenhood received a bulbasaur for which he called Seed. Maxie Woode received a meowth 
called Jasmine. Roger McGraw got an abra called Tallie. Katelynn Jennings got a nidoran female called Penny. Jony 
Ribberson received a seel named Icy. Jessie Lansing got a goldeen called Goldie. Robbie Cores received a charmander he called 
Flames. Marcie Loonson got a squirtle she called Bubbles. Kine Koberston got a ratatta called Barry. Leon Farmart received a 
pidgey called Flyker. Kasey Carter received a staryu she called Oribit. Vincent Lavendar got a koffing he named Poison.
	I looked over at Wing, my jaw dropped. He had a ponyta too. But with a dark-blue flame mane and tail. It still had 
the same tan coat of a ponyta. Wing was already learning to ride. I shook my head in surprise, he had a rich family, but his 
family have never offered riding lessons and said that his education is more important. I felt sorry for him at time to time. 
Since he was never caught playing with any four-legged or furry creatures. While I was out in the sunshine rolling and 
laughing with my wild friends. I have once thought of asking him to come out with me in the morning to play with them, but 
I never got a chance since girls always surrounded him everywhere he went. Twice I thought of asking him to come with me 
to sleep under the stars and return to school before anyone woke up. Which is something I mostly did. But it was still the 
same thing with the girls.
	“Hey! Wing, do you mind if I accompany you on your journey?” Sophia asked, I always thought of her as a snob, 
along with her friends Marcie and Katlynn.
	“Sorry,” he said as he dismounted and walked over to me, “I already have a partner, right Starr?” I blushed a bit 
before saying ‘yeah!’. Sophia growled, her friends glared at me before following Sophia who angrily stomped away.
	“Thinks a lot for that, but really, can I travel with you?” Wing asked, I tried hard not to blush.
	“Of course,” I said, trying to sound casual. He smiled and introduced Moondancer, his male, blue-flamed ponyta. I 
introduced Firefly. Moondancer quickly nickered to her, with a swish of her tail, she started grazing upon the uncut grass. I 
giggled as Moondancer reddened and trotted over a few yards from us and began grazing himself. I think he was trying to 
avoid further embarrassment. 
	“Firefly,” I scolded, “You shouldn’t put down such politeness.” Firefly neighed, saying she had as much right as to 
put down a welcome as you invite others on my journey. I apologized to Wing.
“Don’t worry about it, they will grow on each other in no time,” he said, I was shocked. 
“When two do that to one another that means they’re fond of each other,” he explained further. I had to nod, that was true. 
My father said he always argued with mom ever since they met. But later as they got out of the old fashioned Super Tech 
College, they got married and ended up with me and my older brother Loki. My brother was now on his pokemon journey, 
he left when he got out Super Tech Elementry like me. I think he started out with a tauros since he was the only person that 
was at the highest level in ST. I’m pretty sure he called the tauros Bullseye, but one can’t be sure.
	“All right Starr, let’s go and get our supplies,” Wing told me.
	“Call me Amber will ya?” I asked, he nodded and walked on with Moondancer right behind, I tapped Firefly’s neck 
to get her attention. She lifted her head and nickered.
	“Hey! Starr!” someone shouted, I turned around, Sophia Lakes was there with her two friends behind her.
	“What’s the idea? You don’t even know him and you still asked him if you could accompany him, am I right?” 
she asked in a harsh tone. Muffin sat on her shoulder.
	“Not one bit Soph! I never asked him, he asked me,” I said, Sophia growled.
	“Yeah right, you thought you could go on and ask him since your in the same level, top student,” I said that 
wasn’t true.
	“What are you going to do about it if I say it is true?” she asked, I was ready to punch her in the face, but Firefly 
took care of that. With her head, she bounced Muffin to the ground hard. Muffin got back up and started snarling. Firefly 
nickered at her fiercely. Muffin’s tail and ears drooped as she backed up behind her owner. Jasmine and Bubbles growled. 
Firefly growled back, adding the flames on her back and tail, which were making sizzling noises due to the burning pressure. 
The two pokemon went silent fast. I smiled at my prideful ponyta then I frowned at Sophia and her friends.
	“Spread rumors if you like, but I don’t think Wing will like that very much,” I said, before Sophia had a chance to 
retort.
	“Let’s go girls, I need to go to the salon before we leave. As they were leaving, Wing came back.
	“Since I didn’t see you following, I collected your poke’balls and poke’dex.” Wing said, handing me the supplies, 
“they said yours has a female’s voice, mines a male, cool huh?” I said it was cool.
	“So, was Lakes bugging you?” he asked, I nodded and explained what happened.
	“Good for you Firefly, but I don’t think you should’ve done that, I mean, on a playground and with teachers 
everywhere you look,” I nodded but said Firefly did that with her owl free will. I put my poke’balls in my pocket and put my 
new poke’dex, which I called D.D. in the other pocket.
	“I need to stop by home,” I said, I told him it was in Celodon City.
	“Cool! I’ll come along, I live in Lavender Town, right next door, I can’t believe we haven’t met before coming 
here,”  I nodded in agreement. I have been at Super Tech for three years, I only got to see my dad by telephone. I even saw 
my brother pass by here in Viridian once because he was going to battle the Gym leader here.
	“I can’t wait to see my older brother Silver, he’s a pokemon trainer heading towards the Indigo League but he 
promised to see me when I got home,” Wing explained. I smiled.
	“We could go the way the murkrows fly by riding our ponytas,” I suggested. He said that Celodon was to the right 
of Viridian, and if they kept going, they could be there by nightfall. 
	“Sounds good to me,” I replied as he mounted Moondancer. I mounted Firefly. She was ready to gallop, but I held 
her flaming mane back.
	“Wing hasn’t had any riding experience, we have to start off slow,” I told her, she breathed out fast.
	“You want to go at a trot first?” he asked, I nodded.
	“Race you to that oak across the field!” he yelled, as he trotted down the field, I followed. Then I stopped, Wing 
did too. We turned around. Everyone except the Lakes Trio were applauding as we were leaving, we waved to them as we 
trotted off again.
	“Come on slowpoke!” Wing shouted at me, but quickly went silent as I caught up, he went at a canter, so did I. We 
were a few yards away before we started galloping.
	“Come on Firefly! We can beat em!” I shouted. I heard Wing shout that Firefly was fast.
	“But not fast enough! Come on Moondancer!” Wing shouted, Moondancer galloped a few inches in front of 
Firefly before she went passed him like a rocket. I laughed at them as we galloped past the oak tree. They slowed as they 
passed it too.
	“Man! That was fast, all well, there are plenty of other races out there,” Wing said, patting his tired ponyta. 
Moondancer was sweating and panting, while Firefly was still prancing around because of her victory.
	“I never knew ponytas were that fast,” I told him.
	“Well, now that we’re on our journey, expect the unexpected,” he said, I started laughing as he fell to the ground 
along with Moondancer.
	“Let me guess, you weren’t expecting that?” I laughed, Firefly nickered happily. Moondancer firmly stood up, 
then he helped his trainer up.
“Thanks buddy,” Wing replied, as me and Firefly laughed as Moondancer collapsed again.
	“Do you have a potion?” he asked, I shook my head as I wiped away tears from my cheeks. Wing returned 
Moondancer to his ball. And climbed on Firefly behind me.
	“Let’s go!” he shouted, I nodded and Firefly galloped across the field. Me and Wing looked down, Firefly was 
careful not to pound flowers into the ground as she galloped on and on. The flowers from Firefly’s back were colorful blurs 
of pink, white, and green. I even pointed out a rose. When I looked ahead, I saw a large flowerbed. There would be no way 
Firefly would step around them all, which would be a shame. The flowers were beautiful. They were small and furry, and were 
the colors of the rainbow. I spotted hundreds of healthy green stems and leaves. And yet, there wasn’t one welting or 
unbloomed flower in the large patch either.
	“Watch out for the flowers Firefly!” I yelled to her, her ears were pointed back at me. She nodded, but still 
galloped towards the flowerbed. Her galloping went faster little by little.
	“She’s going to jump it!” Wing shouted, I nodded. I leaned forward and held onto the mane. Wing held on to me. 
We edged closer to the flowers. The flames on Firefly’s neck, back, and tail grew but didn’t warm up.
	“Pony!” she cried as she pounded her hind hooves off the ground. I thought we were soaring as we looked down at 
flowers. They were just as blurry as the flowers that they galloped past earlier. When I looked ahead, it seemed that it was an 
endless field of flowers like in the Wizard of Oz. I held my breath, so did Wing.
	Inch by inch, we sighted a lush grassy area beyond the flowers. We were close. But Firefly was gliding lower and 
lower.
	“Come on Firefly! You can do it!” I shouted to her. She seemed to be saying that she was gliding the best she 
could. I held on tight. The grass was a few more inches away from us. Firefly stretched out her front legs. Ready to gallop 
again. I closed my eyes.
	“Ta!” she nickered, I opened my eyes again. She was right on top of the landing area! Wing laughed as she 
touched the grass. I lifted my head up and loosened my grip as she pushed her hind legs in front of her, then she took off at 
amazing speed. I started laughing along with Wing.
	“Great job Firefly!” I complimented her. She nickered softly to me as she began to slow. I looked ahead, looking 
in the place she was looking. My eyes must have widened when I saw a whole herd of ponytas!
