Blue Shadow & Red Inferno

Aspendragon

Part 8

Woraug’s body was engulfed in black flames, as his form grew taller and more human-like. When the flames were extinguished, Woraug resembled that of a much older Crispin with knee-length black hair, lifeless red eyes, a smirk with a mouth full of fatal fangs, a yellow moon on his forehead, two umbreon ears, a shaggy tail, black claws, and pale skin. He wore a red kimono, a large black sash, and large sleeves with silver bells at the end of them.

"I’m a poke’morph as well you insolent fool!" Woraug laughed. Crispin snarled as he grabbed his hilt and the Dark Ki Blade emerged. Woraug pulled out his own weapon. Instead of just a mere hilt, Woraug had a sword twice his body length with a hilt made of black material with rubies embedded in it.

"This is the sword forged from part of an ancient crystal that I found, the hilt is made of black bark of a Bigoweon Tree and the rubies are just to control its power, this blade, I call it the Ruby Apex!" Woraug answered the puzzled expression on Crispin’s face.

"Big deal! I’ll slice it to pieces than!" Crispin growled as he charged at Woraug with the Dark Ki Blade over his shoulder ready to swing.

"Oh dear Lord! He doesn’t even know what that Ruby Apex is capable of doing!" Gizmo pointed out.

"Well, its not like he’s going to listen to us anyway. Let’s hurry out of the battle before all our energy is gone," Rynn said, as they struggled to stand.

A great clang rang out as the two swords clashed into one another. The Dark Ki Blade and the Ruby Apex didn’t show any signs of weakening, and Crispin and Woraug were glaring at one another as if they were the greatest scum on the Earth.

"Tired yet?" Woraug asked as they jumped back.

"Not a bit!" he answered back, than he spotted Rynn and Gizmo walking away. "Could you go any slower?" he asked them, Rynn growled as they tried to speed up. Woraug leaped and Crispin swung his blade above him as the Ruby Apex clanged against it. Strands of Dark energy bounced around the battlefield as the swords were pushed into one another. One strand nearly hit Rynn.

"That stupid power of his…" Rynn mumbled as she continued to walk, sweating as if she was running at a hundred miles a mile. Gizmo was going slower, but didn’t stop going.

"Ahhhhhh!" Crispin roared as he charged at Woraug again and swung the Dark Ki Blade, Woraug shoved the Ruby Apex down onto the blade as more strands of Dark energy soared.

"Are you after this sword too?" Crispin asked as they jumped away from the other again.

"Now, what purpose would I have of doing that?" Woraug asked as their swords collided again. But received scratches from the power of their swords powers.

"Because those stupid poke’morphs who call themselves Dark Seekers, and they said they were organized by no other than the Witch!" Crispin shouted.

"Well than, maybe I do have some connection to it than." He sneered as they lifted their swords and swung them at one another.

Than the sky loaded with black clouds and lightning flashed, Woraug sneered and the Ruby Apex withdrew into his hand.

"You are lucky today Crispin, I am needed," Woraug said as he transformed into an umbreon and began running away.

"Come back here!" Crispin ordered as he tied his hilt to his waist and ran after Woraug in his umbreon form. Meanwhile, Rynn and Gizmo collapsed in relief as their energy began pouring back into them.

"You call yourself an umbreon! You’re nothing but a scaredy-meowth!" Crispin shouted after Woraug, racing past pokemon and the forest, trying to keep Woraug in his sight.

"Are you that anxious to meet your end?" Woraug laughed as he sped up. "Your strength is nothing compared to mine, so run along home and enjoy your so called life before it’s pulverized!" Woraug shouted back at him.

"What was that you filthy flea-bitten scum!" Crispin shouted after him.

Woraug didn’t reply back, but jumped over a bush, and when Crispin did the same, his scent and energy vanished. He snarled and his energy flared before his common sense caught up with him.

"Oh yeah! Rynn and Gizmo!" he growled at himself as he began to run back.

"What do you mean he just ran away?" Rynn asked, the two poke’morphs had shifted into their human forms and were quarreling over Crispin’s failure.

"He took off! What more details do you need you fox!" Crispin roared.

"Plenty!" she answered.

"Well than! Would me almost catching him make you feel any better?" Crispin asked.

"No! I bet I could have gotten him!"

"That’s a lot of words coming from someone who could barely move!" Crispin pointed out.

"He was sucking out our energy Eonboy!"

"The name’s Crispin!"

"Could we please get going?" Gizmo asked.

"Whatever!" they said in unison as Gizmo led the way through the forest with Crispin and Rynn retorting back and fourth.

Besides the arguing. The forest was pretty silent, Gizmo spotted several pokemon peeking out of their homes to either see what all the noise was about, or if there was any danger.

"Don’t you two feel like something is wrong?" Gizmo asked, they stopped arguing and looked around.

"Yeah, it’s so quiet." Crispin answered.

"Probably because a certain umbreon couldn’t keep his trap shut." Rynn said, he glared at her.

"No really! Not one pokemon is making a sound," Gizmo said, their ears twitched, he was right, not a sound.

"Do you think there have been Dark Seekers causing trouble here?" Rynn questioned.

"Nah, I would have scented them. And this place is Dark-free," Crispin answered.

"Than there is something else frightening the pokemon." Gizmo said.

That’s when a weedle, climbed out of a tree and shivered at the sight of Gizmo. Gizmo began clicking rapidly in his native tongue, in which, neither Cirspin nor Rynn could understand. The weedle answered back several times before scuttling off.

"It seems that there has been a strange pokemon wandering around here at night, sneaking up on pokemon and devouring them whole. The weedle said that this creature was pretty large and vary sly to sneak up on any pokemon here since they’re all so wary." Gizmo said to the two poke’morphs.

"Really?" Rynn muttered. It was almost night anyhow…

"We are not staying here, we have to keep going!" Crispin said as if reading her mind.

"But these pokemon are terrified, we have to find out what has been eating them. It just isn’t right!" Rynn cried, "Please!" she gave Crispin puppy eyes, his eyebrows went into two different directions and he tried to keep his teeth firmly clenched.

"Oh fine! But we’re leaving in the morning!" Crispin stated.

"All right!" Rynn shouted.

Soon the moon was up in the sky, shining brilliantly among the heavens. Crispin sat in a high branch while Rynn sat on a branch not far down with Gizmo feasting on the lush leaves next to her.

"You are pretty hungry today aren’t you?" Rynn asked, Gizmo munched happily, as if thinking that would answer her question. Rynn blushed slightly as her stomach growled.

"Maybe I should go and catch something, like a magicarp." Rynn thought hungrily.

"Than go, just don’t get into trouble okay?" Crispin said, obviously listening to every word she made.

"All right," she said as she leaped down and ran off towards a pond her nose scented.

"Magicarp galore!" Rynn said happily as he claws caught a magicarp, she snapped its spine, killing it instantly. The bushes across from her shook, she froze. The bushes let out a grunt and a being jumped out.

"Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

"What the-" Crispin shouted as he heard Rynn scream, from the sudden cry, Gizmo found himself sprawled out on the ground as Crispin zoomed away.

"RYNN!" Crispin cried as he jumped down from the trees to find his surroundings burned and crisp. Rynn was nowhere to be seen. "RYNN! Answer me!" he summoned the Dark Ki Blade and looked around just as Gizmo scuttled towards him.

"Where is Rynn?" he asked, Crispin didn’t answer, his ears strained to hear every single thing in the forest.

Where am I? Rynn wondered as she opened her eyes, she found herself in a forest clearing, her surroundings were clean and untouched unlike what she left behind. The creature that was caught in her massive fire sword became a pile of ash within seconds, she just hoped it was the creature that has been attacking the pokemon.

But she was sure she made much more power and knew that some of the forest was burned from the attack, but it didn’t seem like so.

"I wonder if Crispin and Gizmo are nearby?" she wondered.

"A vulpix," someone muttered, she turned around, nobody there.

"A vulpix…a vulpix…" voices muttered, Rynn grew scared. Other voices followed as if the name was part of a sacred chant.

Where are you guys? What’s going on? She thought.

To be continued…
