POKEMON The Golden Sun Series Aspendragon Part Eleven-A Fathering Professor and a Tablet of Mystery "Go! Air!" a ten-year-old boy with blue hair and long bangs. He wore a sleeveless white shirt with a light green vest with two pockets over it. He was also wearing jean shorts and red and white sport shoes. "I choose you! Fruity!" Squall shouted, throwing Fruity's poke'ball. "Bellsprout!" (Battle on!) Fruity cried out, staring at the pidgey named Air. "GO SQUALL!" Coco and Bayline cheered, along with Peppermint. The boy ordered a Tackle. Squall commanded Fruity to use Vine Whip. "Belllll!" (Gotcha!) Fruity cried, folding Air's wings up as she wrapped her vine around his body. Air pecked at her vine. After wincing a few times, Squall ordered Fruity to throw Air sky high. "Bellsprout!" (You got it!) Fruity threw Air, who landed beak first into a tree. Almost instantly, swirls took place of his eyes. "Return Air!" the boy said, Squall walked over to him, the boy turned over to him as he snapped Air's ball to his belt. "Good match," he complimented, Squall smiled as he shook his hand. "The name's Squall," Squall said, he pointed out Coco, Bayline, and Peppermint. "My name is Jaro," the boy said. "So all of you are on a pokemon journey?" Jaro asked, all three nodded. They were now at the Pokemon Center, waiting for Nurse Joy to return with Air and Fruity. "I started my journey two days ago from Cinnabar Island, my starting pokemon was Fetch, a growlithe, here, let me show you," Jaro chuckled, as he released a tiger-striped puppy pokemon. "Growl!" (Hi!) the pokemon barked. Coco took out her poke'dex. "Growlithe, the puppy pokemon," Dexter beeped, "Growlithes are territorial, as well as protective of its family and friends," Coco put Dexter away. Bayline leaned over and patted Fetch on the head. He barked happily. "Cutie!" Bayline replied, Coco agreed. Peppermint was not pleased with this. As a result. She shocked Jaro, Coco, Squall, Bayline, and Fetch. "Your just as cute Pep," Coco said quickly, everyone that was shocked passed out. Nurse Joy came out with Air's and Fruity's poke'ball. "Oh my!" she gasped, as she saw the fainted trainers and Fetch. She giggled when she saw Peppermint fold her arms up and spark. "Come on, I've been dying to check out the museum Brock and Flint talked about yesterday," Squall said, Jaro said he had been planning on going later this afternoon. "Let's go now!" Bayline suggested, Coco placed Peppermint on the floor and released Firestorm. Squall released Fruity. Bayline released Honey, and Jenta. Jaro released Air and Fetch. "I'll carry Jenta," Bayline suggested, picking up her metopod. "I'll beat ya there!" Coco yelled, laughing as she and Firestorm and Peppermint took off towards a tall building, with a sign over it saying, 'Pewter Museum'. Everyone ran too. "Beat ya! Wouldn't wanna be ya!" Coco laughed, staring at her panting pikachu and charmander. "You had a head start!" Bayline scolded in a humorous way. When Jaro, Squall and their pokemon caught up, they were laughing so hard that they fell to the ground. "Boys are soooo slow!" Coco laughed, Bayline wiped away tears of laughter. Jaro and Squall panted as sweat rolled down their faces. 'Hello again Firestorm,' Moyia said, with a chuckle. Firestorm shied away and began talking. "The reason I called you is because, do you have any superstitions about...well, anything?" Firestorm asked, it seemed where ever Coco went, trouble followed. 'Hmmm, now that you mention it, I hear there is a something about the new exhibit in Pewter Museum,' Moyia said, Firestorm asked what. 'Something about...pokemon and humans, what those are? I am forbidden to say a word of about them!' she growled silently. "I didn't want to cause you anger, I'm just curious, because it just seems where ever Coco goes, trouble is right the corner," Firestorm explained, Moyia sighed. 'Of course, being guarded by Golden Sun isn't something you just sit back and relax about everything!' Moyia said loudly. Firestorm agreed, 'And you and your team need to become stronger and closer to overcome evil!' Firestorm was stunned by that comment. "What do you mean?" 'If you want to protect Coco and her friends, you will know what your suppose to do,' Moyia explained, 'But for now, I must go, good-bye Firestorm,' she said. "Bye," Firestorm replied back. "Earth to Firestorm!" Bayline snapped, snapping her fingers constantly in front of Firestorm's face. Firestorm opened her eyes and blushed as she saw everyone stare at her. "Charmander," (Sorry,) she apologized. Everyone looked back up. "All right, everyone have money? It says we just need five dollars for a person, it's free for pokemon," Coco asked, Jaro, Squall, and Bayline nodded. Than they walked through the automatic sliding front door. "Four people yes?" the clerk asked. Coco nodded, "Twenty dollars please," they each handed her five dollars and were free to look around. There were a few people inside. They first walked up to a large glass case. It was a large skeleton fossils of a kabutops. "It says Kabutops, the next evolution of Kabuto, had two blade-like arms, similar to scyther's. They were water types as far as they know and was first discovered in a wet part of Rock Tunnel, awesome!" Coco read, everyone stared at the large fossils, it was awesome. "I would pay a million bucks for that pokemon if it wasn't extinct!" Squall said happily, the two girls rolled their eyes. "I would!" Squall yelled, they started laughing. Jaro covered his mouth to keep himself from laughing. "Char!" (Come here!) Firestorm called, the pokemon were staring at an odd tablet that was hung up on the wall. The trainers walked over to it. "Wow," Bayline said in a I-never-saw-such-a-thing tone. It was made out of gold, and not any dirt or scratches to be seen. There was a small painting of another extinct pokemon, from Dexter, they found out it was an aerodactlyl. A rock/flying pokemon. There were many other pokemon too, ratattas, seels, bulbasuars, ekans, abras, pikachus, growlithes, lapras, spearows, butterfrees, and chanseys. "There must be one of every type in this picture," Coco added. Everyone nodded. Who's that pokemon? A normal pokemon that is unable to move until it elvolves. Answer: Metopod! "Squall?" someone asked, everyone turned around. A young man in a lab coat with short black hair and mustache stood, his blue eyes stared at Squall. "Oh hi...dad," Squall choked as the man smiled. "Who are these young people?" he asked. "That's Coco, she's Bayline, and this is Jaro," Squall introduced. "Nice to meet you, I'm Professor Dale, Squall's father." Professor Dale(Prof.Dale) explained. Squall forced out a smile. "Have you caught any pokemon yet Squall?" Prof.Dale asked. Squall answered no. "What a shame, it seems your friends have,". The other three nodded, but decided to change the subject. "What do you study?" Bayline asked. "I study mythology," he answered, "Like, the great Mew and..." "Golden Sun and Ho-oh?" Coco said instantly, she was dying to hear more about those birds. Prof.Dale smiled. "Why yes, the new exhibit's mostly about Ho-oh, not much about Golden Sun I'm afraid. It just that me and my partner, Professor Salem didn't find much about Golden Sun," Prof.Dale explained. But the questions didn't end there. "How long have you been studing mythology?" "What type is Ho-oh?" "Why couldn't you find anything on Golden Sun?" Prof.Dale put up his hand, they all grew quiet fast. "Follow me," he said, the four trainers returned their pokemon to their balls and then followed Prof.Dale out of the museum. "Where are we going Professor?" Jaro asked. He said to his lab. They all started following with curiousity now. After walking across a damp trail and into the woods behind the museum. A small, moss covered white lab building appeared. They walked up to the door. Prof.Dale slided his card key through the card pad, the door next to it, automaticly slided open. "Come in," Prof.Dale said in his friendly tone. They all came in. "When did you get this place?" Squall asked his father. "Me, your mother, and Prof.Salem found it two days after your journey began," Prof.Dale answered. "And we have been using it since," a man, obviously Prof.Salem said. He came into the room, he was tall and well-built, had a clean shaven face with short red hair and dark green eyes. He wore a similar lab coat to Prof.Dale's. "Nice to see you again Squall, oh and for the rest of you, I'm Professor Salem," Prof.Salem said with a wink. "Oh, how are you Toby?" a woman asked as she came in the room, everyone turned to Squall, who turned redder than a beet. "My name's Squall mom," Squall choked. Bayline and Coco giggled. "Hello, I'm Cindy, and this is Sadie," she said, pointing to the just noticed pidgeyotto that was perched on her shoulder. "Hi, I'm Coco Tradet!" Coco said quickly stroking the bird. Sadie chirped happily. "My name is Bayline Silverson," Bayline said, Jaro introduced himself before they all walked into the kitchen. "Lunch anyone?" Cindy asked cheerfully, Prof.Dale and Prof.Salem immediatly agreed and satdown, along with Squall. Coco, Jaro, and Bayline sat down on the opposite side of the two professors and Squall. Peppermint leaped happily on Coco's lap. "Say, why is your pikachu out of its ball?" Prof.Salem asked. Cindy polpped down a plate full of mashed patatoes, already sliced up ham, turkey, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and a fruity salad in a bowl. "Let's give our pokemon some grub guys," Jaro said, they all agreed and sent out their pokemon. "Bellsprout!" "Eevee!" "Metopod!" "Growlithe!" "Pidgey!" "Charmander!" the group of pokemon cried, as they joyfully devoured their given food. Coco laid down a small plate of sliced apples in front of Peppermint who quickly chomped away. Jaro got himself some mashed patatoes and some fruit, saying he wasn't really hungry. Squall and his father ate large amounts of everything on the large plate. Prof.Salem ate most of the fruit salad, and ate few bits of ham and that was all. Coco helped herself to a handfull of mashed patatoes, a large scoop of fruit, and a huge peice of ham. Bayline had little of everything except fruit salad and PBJ's. "Full everyone?" Cindy smiled, laughing as everyone mumbled 'Fanks,'. "I take that as a yes," she said, cleaning the table up. "So, why were you at the museum?" Bayline asked. "I wanted to see how our exhibit was doing there," Prof.Dale answered. "More like your making sure it's still there," Prof.Salem chuckled, Prof.Dale and Cindy gave him a dirty look. "What do you mean?" Squall asked suddenly. "Team Rocket has been on our heels for a long time now, waiting to steal our research, and now that we put an exhibit up..." Prof.Dale began. "...we had to get the museum to make their security groups larger, for the sake of our master peice," Prof.Salem finished. Bayline asked what was their master peice. "A small copy of a tablet we discovered a long time ago, before Squall was born," Prof.Dale explained. Cindy and Prof.Salem nodded. "Why wasn't I told this?" Squall asked. "If we told you, then Team Rocket would know and stalk you," Cindy said tearfully. "And kidnap you and get what they want out of you," Prof.Salem said. Squall shivered. "What was the tablet all about?" Jaro asked. They said that the tablet explains about once, a long time ago, humans and pokemon lived together in peace. From harmless bugs to deadly dragons, humans respected them, in return, they were respected back. For hundreds of thousands of years, they lived together in peace and harmony. Until a team of bandits stole Ho-oh's sacred bells and a golden feather. Ho-oh flew away in sadness as her homeland was burned to the ground and people and pokemon began to think they were not equals and went their seperate ways. In the fire, three souls were killed, Ho-oh resurrected them as Raikou, the recarnation of Thunder. Suicune, the recarnation of the North Wind. And Entei, recarnation of the Volcano. Ho-oh sent them out to watch over humankind and pokemon. From that burning day, Ho-oh was never seen again. But people say, that a different cry from Ho-oh's, comes from the sacred grounds of which people believe was the used to be Bandit Hideout, where the bandits stole and hid their loot in. From that day, people called the crys owner to be Ho-oh's son, which they named Golden Sun. "And that's all that it said, so far as we know," Prof.Salem said. "Don't you think Team Rocket will be able to read it?" Squall asked. "We worked on that long enough to figure out what it says, so that makes us the only ones that can read it!" Prof.Dale laughed. "What was that!?!" Cindy asked. Everyone looked at her than at eachother. "What do you mean, I didn't feel anything?" Prof.Dale asked, Cindy stood up and ran out the door. They ran out after her to find her staring at Mt.Moon. "IT'S TEAM ROCKET!" Cindy cried, pointing at a large balck, hot air balloon with a giant red 'R' on it. "What are they doing here?" Prof.Salem asked. "I don't know but I'm not going to stand here and not do anything about it!" Coco yelled as she returned her pokemon along with everyone else. "Pika!" Peppermint squealed as she jumped onto her shoulder. Saying she was ready. "Cindy stay here, we'll be back as fast as we can!" Prof.Dale said, Cindy nodded as she stroked Sadie and went back into the house. Everybody else ran as fast as they could towards Mt.Moon. As they ran, they heard a cry for help that came from the mountain. "Clllleeeeeffffffaaaaiiiiirrrrrryyyyyyy!" *Pokemon Theme* To be continued...
