POKEMON Golden Sun Series Aspendragon Part Fifteen- An Unexpected Legend of Ice #1 Last time, our heroes, Coco, Squall, and Bayline each received the Cascade Badge. And after a lot of advice from Misty, they are now clean and have a...new set of clothes on? "Girls," Squall growled, as he folded his arms. Misty went to the store last night in search of boy clothes and some other clothes for Coco and Bayline. She even picked something up for Peppermint. "You are soooo cute!" Coco cooed, as she picked up her tiny pikachu. Misty bought a baby green bow and fitted it to her left ear. And ever since, Bayline and Coco have been cooing over her ever since. She enjoyed that attention. Besides buying Peppermint a bow, she also bought, for Coco. A red and white Pokemon League cap. She said it was similar to Ash's, besides it had a red heart instead of a green symbol that was on Ash's. But you could only get those kinds if they're won in a contest. She said it took thousands of postcards just to receive one! She also bought Coco white, (Red flame at the bottom) baggy jeans with a red sash, she said it resembled a goldeen's fin, but there was only red. She also bought a white T-shirt with red sleeves and a normal red and white poke'ball on the chest. Misty suggested that Cocoa let her hair stay down and draw her new hat backwards and letting her bangs come out of the large hole in the back of the hat. Bayline received knee-long, skin-tight, dark blue pants. With a black belt. She also got a silver long sleeve shirt. Misty told her to keep half her hair up with blue clips. Bayline decided to also decided to wear the boots she got her too. She loved em' mind you. As for Squall. Misty got him baggy, blue jeans that went down (Lower then his ankles) to his feet. She even got him a pair of black and white gym shoes. Squall didn't admit it, but he liked gym shoes and didn't a thing wrong with them. Along with that, she got him a black T-shirt with a yellow and black, sleeveless vest and a pair of fingerless, blue gloves. And to Coco's and Bayline's entertainment. Misty told him to keep his brown hair down, she even cut it herself (Altough neatly) to his shoulders, not a split end to be seen. She didn't bother to cut his bangs, which were over his eyebrows, saying he was cuter then before, but was just as cute when some things stayed the same. Coco and Bayline giggled at that, Squall was redder then a beet. "Come on Squall! Admit it! You like it!" Bayline laughed at Squall's red face. Misty came in with her sisters and their family pet, Dewgong. They were each (Except Dewgong) carrying a tray of food. Everyone released their pokemon except the Cerulean Sisters. They said their pokemon have already eaten except Dewgong and are having fun in the pool. "So? Your metopod hasn't evolved yet?" Lily asked. "Nope," Bayline answered. As her metopod stared at her then at Misty. "Well, if she evolves anytime soon, you should release it at the butterfree romance areas near Vermilion City," Misty said. Coco looked up. "Butterfree romance areas?" she said. Lily explained that trainers release their butterfrees to find the opposite gender then fly off to lay their eggs across the sea, and may not be seen for years. Misty said it was a long time before Ash saw his butterfree. But Violot reminded her that she was exaggerating again. Misty sighed. "Cool, I hope she'll evolve by then!" Bayline and Coco cried together. Peppermint continued chopping away on her apple. "Char!" Firestorm growled in her sleep. Coco said she didn't get much sleep last night. "Moyia!" Firestorm growled, a foggy mist surrounded him. 'Why, what an unexpected pleasure Firestorm,' Moyia's voice said, 'I see you went through some changes from when the last time we met,' "Yes, well, just curious, but do you have any news for me at all?" 'Now that you mention it, I did hear that Golden Sun has a relationship with Ho-oh, but I'm not sure...but anyway, did Tradet capture any more pokemon?' "No, but Squall caught a sandshrew and Bayline caught a clefairy," she heard Moyia sigh. 'She needs more partners to overcome what lies ahead,' "What lies ahead?" 'It is for me to know and for you to find out,' Moyia said. "Is that all?" Firestorm asked. Moyia said yes. "All right, bye than," 'Bye to you too...' "Firestorm!" Coco yelled, snapping her fingers in front of her face. She opened her eyes then yawned. Everyone were returned to their poke'balls as soon as she woke up. "You're beginning to scare me," Coco said, as she patted Firestorm on the head then returned her to her poke'ball. "Come on Coco!" Bayline shouted, running on the trail that should take them to Vermilion. Squall looked at Coco. "Come on!" he shouted joyfully as he ran after Bayline. Peppermint jumped onto Coco's shoulder. "Pikachu!" she cried. Coco smiled and ran after her friends. Not noticing storm clouds arising and following them, spreading throughout the sky. "ARRRRTTTTTIIIICCCCCC!" the unjoyful creature crowed. She glided left then right, through the snowy air. Colorful, bright lights appeared in front of her. She sang a sorrowful song as she stared at the lights. A white flash appeared but quickly vanished. She stared once more at the lights before flying off again without a backwards glance... "Are we there yet!" Bayline asked. As she quickly threw her coat on and put the furry hood over her head. Squall did the same. Squall hurried to unfold his map and cover it with his jacket. "Get under that tree!" he yelled, pointing to a large oak tree, with a dense top. They hurried over to it, getting under it just before it started raining harder. "We must have gotten off the right path, I told you taking this shortcut was stupid Bayline!" Bayline stuck out her tongue. "Yes, but if we took the other one, it seemed it would take days! And besides! It was like a sideways loop, why not cross through it!" Bayline snapped. Coco and Peppermint sweatdropped. "Well..." Squall didn't know how to snap back. Bayline laughed. "Oh my!" Coco gasped, she covered her mouth with her two hands. She was staring at the rain. They followed her gaze. It was snowing! "What the!" Squall quickly withdrew his calendar from his back pocket of his pack. "No wonder!" he chuckled, "It's December third!" "But! W-we d-didn't e-e-e-even f-ff-feel a-a tempeture c-change t-ti-till n-n-now..." Coco shivered, as she put Peppermint inside her light jacket. Bayline began shivering as she snuggled up with her's. "I-I kn-know, i-it ch-ch-changed-d s-s-so s-s-suddenly," Squall muttered as he put the calendar away. "I-I th-thought, i-i-it s-snowed m-more n-n-n-north," Bayline said aloud. "W-we're s-still n-near C-ceurlean, and th-that's p-probably th-the f- farthest c-city n-orth I-in K-kanto," Squall explained, as he too wrapped himself in his jacket. Coco blew on her hands, but wasn't worth wasting her breath. As soon as the air reached her palms, it was just as cold as the air around them. "Pika p-pi!" Peppermint squealed. Coco looked down to find her pointing. Coco looked at where she was pointing. There was a small, round building. It was a Pokemon Center! "LOOK!" Coco shouted, Bayline and Squall stopped arguing and looked at where Coco was pointing to. Releived smiles appeared on their faces. "Well! Come on!" she ran as fast as she could towards the PC. Her friends did the same. "Arrriiiicccccc!" Coco stopped. Squall and Bayline stopped at her side. "What's wrong?" Bayline asked, as Coco stared at the sky. "I heard something," she answered, "something mystical and high and shrill, and kind've sad..." "We'll worry about it later, look, we are a hill away!" Squall said with joy. As he made his friends run towards the warm building. "Hello!" Nurse Joy said as they came through the door. They smiled and said hello back than looked around the large room. They were the only ones there. "You are the only people here I'm afraid, some were here an hour ago, but when they spotted the storm clouds, they decided to get to the next town..." Nurse Joy explained. "Oh..." Coco mumbled, "Hey! Nurse Joy, have you seen or heard anything lately?" Nurse Joy said no. "Well, I heard a strange cry, or something mystical...and I heard it when it was snowing," Coco told her. Nurse Joy put her hand to her cheek. "Hmmm...what kind of cry was it? If it was a pokemon, then it must of at least cried out half its name..." "All I heard was an 'Arctic' sound," Coco answered. Nurse Joy quickly asked Bayline and Squall if they heard it. They shook their heads. "Oh my..." Nurse Joy mumbled. "What is it?" they all asked. "Arcticuno is the bird of Ice, it says that Arcticuno flies around, waitning for the next one to help it out of misery," Nurse Joy began, "Being one of the birds of the Orange Islands, she owned one island, Ice Island. Moltres owned Fire Island, and Zapdos owned Lightninig Island. And each one was named after a number, as well as their element..." "Zap for lightning and dos for two right?" Bayline said. "Molting or molt for short is fire, and tres is for three," Squall said. "And Arctic for Ice and Uno for one," Coco finished. Nurse Joy nodded. "After Ash Ketchum-" "Here it come's...another heroic act of Ketchum boy..." Coco muttered under her breath, Squall and Bayline sweatdropped. "As I was saying, Ash Ketchum three years ago put peace between the three birds after a collector ruined it by disturbing the peace bond between them by capturing them," Nurse Joy once again began, "But the only one that was beaten was Arcticuno, she was defeated on her own island as Ash received one of the orbs. (This is true, you had to of watched Pokemon 2000) After putting the orbs in the right order and playing Lugia's song, the three birds went back to their islands, but Arcticuno decided to soar around and find the one who would help it out, but only shows herself on one day..." "What day?" Coco asked. "December twenty-fourth," Nurse Joy answered, "The day of great joy, and it will be easier for her to find out who is the one who will help her out," Nurse Joy stopped as her chansey came in. "Chansy!" Chansy cried, Nurse Joy nodded. "But all of it is a legend, but anyway, do you wish to spend the night here?" she asked. Bayline and Squall nodded as Coco pondered. "Your Room number is 2," Nurse Joy said as she typed on the computer that was on the counter. Chansey handed Squall the key to Room 2. "Thanks!" Bayline said as she quickly ran down a hall to the right of the front counter. Squall followed, Peppermint jumped out of Coco's jacket and onto her shoulder. "Can you upgrade my poke'dex?" Coco asked as she got an idea. "Sure," she took the poke'dex from Coco's hand and put it into the computer through disc slit in the computer. As Nurse Joy started typing, Coco started asking about Arcticuno again. "If it's a legend, then why did I hear it back there?" "You must have been hearing things," "And if it was beaten, then why is it searching around here for the one that would help her?" "She doesn't just sear-she never ever searched, it's just a legend, no here's your poke'dex, now off to your room with your friends," Nurse Joy said as she quickly handed Dexter to Coco and went into the back room with Chansey. "Strange...all well! Come on Pep!" Coco said, as she waited for Peppermint to squeal and jump onto her shoulder. But nothing came. "Pikachu!" she turned around. Peppermint was hitting the glass, automatic door. The snowstorm outside hasn't abated a bit, but Peppermint was pounding constantly on the cold doors anyway. "Stop it Peppermint, let's go and get some food huh! Peppermint! Get back here now!" Coco screamed, as the doors opened and Peppermint rushed out the door. Coco growled as she grabbed her jacket again and rushed after her. "PEPPERMINT!" Coco yelled at the top of her lungs. After stepping five feet from the Pokemon Center, it vanished in a mist of white. The snowfall was ever more thicker. "PEPPER!" she called again. "PIKA!" she squealed back. But it sounded like echoes coming from everywhere. Coco stepped forward a but more. "Arrriiiiiiccccccctttttttt!" the same, mystical voice cried again. Coco searched the sky for Arcticuno. Nothing was seen except whiteness. Coco closed her eyes. Peppermint called out again. The echoes seemed a little closer. But in which direction they were really coming from was hard to tell. "Pep, where are you?" Coco whispered. Then Firestorm's poke'ball opened. Firestorm appeared. "Charmeleon!" she growled, pointing her claws in front of her. "Uhhhhhh, okay, come on," Coco walked forward, to where she was pointing, Firestorm followed. "Where is she?" Bayline growled out in anger. Squall and Bayline were at the Pokemon Center's small diner, with their pokemon on the floor munching away at their food, but Jenta sat next to Bayline, since she couldn't eat. "I asked Nurse Joy, but she said she hadn't seen her..." Squall told her. Bayline looked at her metopod. Who was gleaming and looked a little aged. "She's probably almost ready to evolve," Squall said as he followed her gaze. Bayline nodded. "Maybe we should look right after the storm dies a little," Bayline suggested. "No, after we eat, we'll began searching," Squall growled, Bayline looked a little taken back. "Bellsprout," Fruity said, as all the pokemon began sweatdropping as the two trainers argued. They were sure if there was anyone else in there, they would be staring. "Char char!" Firestorm growled, pointing at a small hole in the large drift of snow ahead. "PIKA!" the echoes were coming from there all right. "Come on Firestorm!" Coco said as she ran towards the hole with Firestorm close behind. "Peppermint! Are you in there?" Coco asked as she poked her head into the hole. It was just as large as she was. "Chu," Coco looked to her left. Peppermint jumped out from behind a large boulder. Coco climbed in and grabbed Peppermint, cradling her. "Don't ever ever ever ever ever do that again, got that!" Coco scolded. Peppermint nodded, but jumped out of her hands. "Charmeleon," Firestorm said as she came in too. Peppermint squealed then ran off farther down the hole. Coco rolled her eyes then went after her. "Pika pika i!" they ran faster after her. "WHOA!" Coco yelped as she stopped and fell. Peppermint stopped so fast that Firestorm fell on top of Coco too. Poor Peppermint was under both. "Chu," Peppermint groaned as Firestorm got up, then Coco, then finally Peppermint. "Pikachu," she pointed at the ground. Coco and Firestorm looked down. Firestorm's eyes widened as Coco edged towards it. It was a small, light blue but clear orb, with a small light dancing in it... *Pokemon Theme* To be continued...
