Last night, Coco defeated a Team Rocket member and Bayline arrived with Officer Jenny and the TR member was arrested. But since the generator’s cables were cut. Electricity was still not getting the energy it needs to help the pokemon in care.

Nurse Joy tended to the cables, but it seemed the generator needed a boost. Coco had suggested Peppermint to zap it back into action. The idea was accepted and Peppermint used Thundershock to jolt the generator back into gear. It worked and the Pokemon Center once again had electricity. Now it was time for Coco to challenge Lt. Surge once again for the Thunder Badge.

"Ready to go Peppermint?" Coco asked as they ran out of the Pokemon Center. A sleepy Bayline and Squall followed.

"Wait up Coco!" Bayline shouted.

"Pikachuu…" Peppermint growled, the Trainer Triad was now standing outside the gym, and Coco pushed the door open.

"I’m back for a rematch!" Coco shouted. The lights flickered on as the doors closed behind them.

"All right, we’ll continue on," Lt. Surge appeared, tossing Raichu’s ball up and down. Coco walked over to her former side of the battlefield, as did Lt. Surge.

"This will be a one-on-one battle, when a pokemon is unable to battle, the opponent wins! Begin!" the referee, shouted.

"Go! Raichu!" Lt. Surge shouted.

"I choose Peppermint!" Coco yelled, Peppermint leaped from Coco’s shoulder and onto the battlefield. Raichu appeared in a flash of white. They both narrowed their eyes towards one another and sparked.

"This should be interesting," Squall said.

"Yeah, Peppermint lost before, so Coco must have a strategy." Bayline agreed. The two sat on the benches next to the battlefield.

"Peppermint! Use Thundershock!" Coco ordered, Peppermint launched the attack at Raichu.

"Use Thunderbolt!" Lt. Surge yelled. Raichu’s Thunderbolt destroyed the Thundershock, and hit the ground. But Peppermint wasn’t there.

"Use Quick Attack!"

"Rai!" peppermint was next to Raichu and rammed into its side.

"Raichu! Thunderbolt!" Lt. Surge shouted.

"Dodge it!" Coco shouted, "Then use Quick Attack!" Smoke came up as the Thunderbolt hit the ground, once again, Peppermint rammed into Raichu.

"Come on Raichu! Don’t let this pip-squeak outsmart you! Use Thunderbolt!" Lt. Surge commanded, Raichu had two bruises, one on each side of it.

"Raichu!" Raichu’s body released Thunderbolts in every direction. Lt. Surge wasn’t getting shocked, Coco stepped out of the way of stray strands of electricity, Bayline was almost hit by several, Squall was shocked once and nearly passed out, and the referee seemed to be dancing to avoid contact with the attack.

"Peppermint!" Coco cried as the attack broke the ceiling glass. The room lit with yellow light. When it faded, Coco opened her eyes, they widened.

"Impossible!" Lt. Surge growled. Peppermint was on the floor unscathed and glaring at Raichu, her tail was straight up over her body, sparking with thousands of volts collected from Raichu’s Thunderbolts.

"Absolutely astounding!" Squall said, Coco grinned. Raichu was sweating and panting.

"Use Quick Attack!" Coco shouted, Peppermint ran at Raichu with a sparking tail. She threw her weight into Raichu, knocking it over. But it got back on its feet.

"Use Body Slam!" Lt. Surge shouted. Raichu jumped off the ground and made its way down towards Peppermint. Peppermint stepped to the right; Raichu landed on the ground face-first. Raichu struggled to its feet.

"All right! Peppermint! Attack!" Coco shouted. "Finish this!" Peppermint jumped high off the ground and flipped twice as she came down to have her tail directly in front of her.

"Cu!" Peppermint cried as her tail landed on Raichu, shocking Raichu will all its won power. Dust arose as the attack hit the ground beneath Raichu.

"Did peppemrint win?" Bayline asked aloud. Squall shrugged. The smoke began to fade, everyone waited and stared.

"Pikachu!" Peppermint was standing next to a fainted Raichu; its eyes were replaced with swirls.

"Raichu is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" the referee announced, raising the green flag.

"All right! Great job Pepper!" Coco shouted as Peppermint leaped into her arms. Lt. Surge returned Raichu to its ball and walked over to Coco.

"You know, you remind me of someone that also had a pikachu and discovered my weakness," Lt. Surge said.

"Ash Ketchum?" Coco said.

"Affirmative, and for proof of being victorious at this gym, I present to you the Thunder Badge," Lt. Surge handed her a badge that looked like the sun.

"All right! We got the Thunder Badge Peppermint!" Coco shouted as Bayline and Squall joined her.

"We told you would get the Thunder Badge!" Squall said, Bayline nodded.

"Well, let’s get going." Coco said as they headed to the doors of the gym.

"The next gym is in Saffron! North of here!" Lt. Surge shouted, "Good luck!"

"Thanks, bye!" Coco said as they pushed the door open and walked out.

"Before we leave, we need to buy some more supplies," Squall said as he pulled out their empty first aid kit.

"Okay, hey! Bayline what are you looking at?" Bayline was looking at a flier she picked off the ground.

"They built a new ship similar to the S. S. Anne, but she’s called S. S. Faye!" Bayline answered, shoving the picture of the new ship in their faces.

"We don’t have any money for that, and besides, I want to get to Saffron," Coco said.

"Yeah, but it departs in three weeks from here, and it’s free for Pokemon Trainers!" Bayline squealed, Coco and Squall looked at one another.

"All right, but in the meantime, let’s get to Saffron, it should take us two days to walk there," Coco said.

"But remember the supplies!" Squall added.

"Okay! Let’s hurry onto Saffron!" Bayline shouted, but looked rather unsure.

"Pikachu!" Peppermint cried happily.
