POKEMON Golden Sun Series Aspendragon Part Eight- Bayline gets a Badge and a New Pokemon! Last time, Squall and Coco met a young girl called Bayline Silverson, but something wasn’t right with her. Later that night, she turned out to be a two-legged silver, Werepersian! After breaking the curse, Coco was in serious need of medical attention, let’s just hope they get to Pewter City in time! “Hurry Bayline!” Squall yelled, Bayline panted, Peppermint hung to her shoulder. “I’m going as fast as I can Squall!” she yelled back. “Pika!”(Less fighting and more running!) Peppermint squealed, bouncing up and down on Bayline’s shoulder, due to her uneven running rhythm. “It should take five more minutes!” Squall shouted to her, ever since last night, he was angry with her, he didn’t care if she had no control over her transformation, all that mattered was Coco was hurt and needed to get to a hospital. A cool breeze swept across the road, Bayline started complaining. “Are we there yet?” she asked loudly, when they stopped at a fork. Squall growled. “Look, Coco’s hurt and it doesn’t matter how long it takes, and besides, we should be there in two minutes if we go this direction!” he yelled as he folded his map up again and ran to the right of fork. Surprised by the reply, Bayline ran after him in fury. “There! Pewter City! Happy now!” he scolded as she caught up with him. “Yes I am! Now you can take Peppermint while I go shopping!” she yelled as she stormed away, as Peppermint jumped to the ground and waited for Squall to run. “Who does she think she is?” Squall yelled, looking down at Peppermint, “How in the world can she think of shopping at a time like this!” Peppermint cocked her head, he sighed, then ran down the hill the opposite direction of Bayline. “Excuse me!” Squall yelled as he reached Pewter’s ‘Human’ Hospital’s counter. “What can I do for you?” a lady secretary asked, he showed her Coco, she gasped and called the ER room. “Please hurry and follow me,” she said, running Squall through a door after door after door, then he finally had the opportunity to lay Coco down on a stretcher prepared for her. Than a few nurses and a doctor rushed her to the ER room, while the secretary showed him to the waiting room. As he walked off to the vending machine to get Peppermint some food, he thought of Coco and Bayline. “How dare she!” he muttered under his breath, putting a quarter in the vending machine then pushing ‘1,A’. “The only thing she could think about is-” he said before being interrupted. “-Coco,” Bayline finished, he turned around, while Peppermint scooped up the chocolate bar from the vending machine and chewed the paper off and began eating the chocolate. “Why would you care about Coco if you care more about shopping!” Squall yelled, if there were people in the room, they would be staring at the two. “Look, I do care about Coco, I went to Pretty Gurl. A store down the street, I got her some new clothes, since…her’s are a bit ragged,” she mumbled, as she showed him the bag with the clothes in it. But Squall was still angry. “Did you know you transform every full moon?” he asked, trying to keep his voice and temper down. “Ummm, well, I did” she said at last “Than why did you accompany us? You were endangering all that were around you! Maybe it is best if you go home!” he roared, Bayline roared back. “How dare you! You would run away if you were the youngest and always picked on!” she yelled, than she burst into tears and dropped the bag and ran out of the room, Peppermint ran after her. Squall, just noticing what he’d done, would’ve gone after her, but thought better of it. He pushed some strands of brown hair behind his ear. His dark blue eyes shined with tears as he sat down on a chair. He put his right hand’s thumb and index finger on his head. “Get better soon Coco,” he mumbled. (Screen drifts away from him and enters Coco’s room.) “Hm?” Coco mumbled, a doctor leaned over her. “Ah, your awake,” he said, with a smile on his face. Coco noticed she had a cast on her left arm and a few bandages on her right. She could also feel a few on her head too. “You have some minor injuries there,” the doctor said, raising a clipboard to his face. “Let’s see, broken left arm…minor bruises and scratches on the right…scratched right and left leg, were infected but can be cured in twenty hours, hmm, so far so good,” he said, putting down the clipboard. “I guess your friend Mr.Togoroti is going to have to call your parents huh?” he asked, she tried to nod but it was hard. Pewter Gym “I challenge the gym leader of this gym!” Bayline yelled, a while earlier, she thought a good battle would cheer up her spirits. “Fine, I, Brock, Gym Leader of Pewter City hereby accept your challenge,” a boy voice said. A boy, no older then fifteen came out of the back darkness. He had dark brown, spikey hair, dark skin and his eyes were shut. He was also wearing dark jeans and a dark brown shirt with a green vest over it. “I’m Bayline Silverson from...a...Pallet Town!” Bayline shouted, a referee came out of the darkness too. “This will be a two-on-two match, the two pokemon unable to battle first loses the match, BEGAN!” the referee shouted. The lights flashed on, in front of Bayline, a rocky field lay. Brock released his pokemon first. “Geodude!” the ground pokemon cried. “Go! Honey!” Bayline yelled, releasing her eevee. “An eevee!” Brock muttered, “All right Geodude! Rock Throw! Now!” he commanded, Geodude began shaking rocks out of place, making them roll down from their place. “Dodge em’ all Honey!” Bayline commanded, Honey jumped to the right, avoiding three small rocks and one large boulder. Then she jumped to the left then up as she curved right and landed on a small rocky ledge. “Not bad for a beginner, NOW GEODUDE! TACKLE!” Brock ordered, Geodude charged upward towards Honey. WHAM! He hit her directly. Close to Bayline, Honey landed. Honey winced in pain as she tried to get up, than swirls took place of her eyes as she fainted. “This round goes to Geodude!” the referee shouted as Bayline returned Honey. “Here goes nothing, GO! JENTA!” Bayline yelled, throwing her caterpie’s ball. “A…caterpie?” Brock mumbled. The referee shouted began. “Jenta! Stick that Geodude to the boulder behind him with String Shot!” Bayline shouted, Jenta, although scared at first shot her attack. It first shocked the geodude on how fast it came. Brock stood stunned, after a few seconds, his geodude was a completely white sac of string. ‘Looks exactly like a mummy,’ Bayline thought, giggling at herself. Jenta, shocked, leaped in the air. “Great Job Jenta!” Bayline yelled, Jenta cheered again then watched Brock return Geodude then throw out another poke’ball. “I CHOOSE YOU ONIX!” he yelled, as a large, rocky snake pokemon appeared, Bayline gasped. Jenta’s colored drained from her body as she looked up at the colossal pokemon. He growled down at her. She was too stunned to move. “BEGAN!” the referee, shouted. “Onix! Squash that bug with Tail Whip!” Brock ordered, Onix swung his tail at Jenta, she quickly dodged it. When she landed, she was trembling. “Pull it together Jenta!” Bayline said, “Use String Shot around his mouth!” Jenta did, the silky fiber wrapped around the giant’s mouth. Bayline decided to tell Jenta when to stop, making sure the onix’s mouth was thickly covered in bug string. “ONIX! BIND ATTACK!” Brock ordered, Onix didn’t move, he stared down at his mouth, horrified. “All right Jenta! Now use String Shot to stick him to the wall!” Bayline commanded, Jenta did so, but only got half his tail to the wall until Onix stretched himself to hit Jenta with his head. Jenta crashed at the wall behind Bayline. “Come on Jenta! I know you can beat this big guy!” Bayline yelled, Jenta fell to the ground then crawled back into the battlefield. “All right! Jenta-huh?” the outline of Jenta's body was glowing purple, the onix’s body glowed purple too. He was raised into the air when Jenta’s eyes glowed white. Then Jenta swung to the right hard. The onix’s body followed and crashed into the wall. Bayline, stunned by what she saw started cracking up at Brock’s face. He was blue in the face as he stared at Jenta then at his onix. The referee quickly called the match to Bayline and left in a hurry. Brock ran over to Bayline and handed her a small, silver badge. “By the gym’s rules, you win the match,” he said, than he calmed down after he returned Onix. “And, to compete in the Indigo league, you must win eight badges or more, the next one’s in Cerulean City,” he said, then waved good bye as he put Jenta in Bayline’s arms and showed her the door and ran away. She sweatdropped when she saw the two front giant doors close, then she looked at Jenta. Who’s that Pokemon? What pokemon holds a sprig of green onions and uses it as a weapon? Answer: Farfetch’d! “Jenta?” Bayline gasped, as she glowed white and became bigger and heavier in her arms. “Metopod!” Jenta the Metopod cried, Bayline hugged her new pokemon, and decided to show Coco Jenta. “You know what Jenta? You might be the ticket to cheering up Coco and showing how sorry I am!” Bayline cried, hugging her pokemon again as she ran to the Pokemon Center to get her pokemon healed. “OH MY GOSH! IS SHE ALL RIGHT!?!?!” Caroline yelled, Dawn sat next to her with a worried expression. “Yes, I got her here this morning, the doctor said she would be back to her normal life tomorrow afternoon,” Squall explained, Caroline breathed in deeply, Dawn continued. “So, how are you than?” Dawn asked, Squall said he was fine and avoided Bayline. “Pikachu!” (I’m fine too!) Peppermint squealed. “Glad to hear, so, catch any new pokemon yet, you know Professor Oak is counting on you two,” Dawn said with a laugh. “No, not exactly, but we have some pokemon info,” Squall said, Dawn laughed. “Some info!” he laughed, as the nurse came over to Squall. “You may see Tradet,” she said, waiting for him to follow. After a quick good bye, Squall hurried after the nurse. *Pokemon Theme* To be continued…
