Yeah, my girlfriend takes me home when I'm too drunk to drive

And she doesn't get all jealous when I hang out with the guys

She laughs at my dumb jokes when no-one does

She brings me Mexican food from Sombrero, just because

And she's so smart and independent; I don't think she needs me

Quite half as much as I know I need her

I wonder why there's not another guy that she'd prefer

Ash stood outside the Pokecenter, stamping his feet trying to stay warm. 'Drat, why'd I have to miss curfew?!' He glanced at his watch. 'And it's far too late to go to the Gym. Or is it too early?' he thought for a moment. 'Well, whatever it is, it's almost three... Maybe I can find somewhere to sit just outside the door...'

And when I feel like giving up, when my world is falling down

I show up at 3am, she's still up watching 'Vacation'

And I see her pretty face; it takes me away to a better place

Ash kicked a piece of broken sidewalk aside and glanced up. To his surprise, a light was shining from the Gym's doors. 'Huh? Misty can't STILL be awake? Can she?' He walked up to the door and carefully looked in. Misty was lounging on a chair, and as Ash watched, she yawned widely and pointed a remote at a TV strategically placed so it could be viewed from any point in the room. Ash cautiously tapped on the door, and as Misty looked over, he gave a little wave.

"Wow Ash, What are you doing here?!" Misty grinned as she re-locked the door. Ash shrugged. "Well, I just got into town, but I missed the Pokecenter curfew. I didn't know that you were still awake, I was just gonna sleep in the doorway... What ARE you still doing awake, anyway?!" Misty smiled. "Couldn't sleep, so I decided to get up and watch some TV. Lucky for you, huh?"

And when I feel like giving up, when my world is falling down

"There. If you need another sheet, or blanket or anything, there's more in the hallway closet, okay Ash?" He nodded. "Great. Thanks Misty." They stood there awkwardly for a while. Finally, Misty broke the silence. "Well, I better go... I gotta get up and open the Gym in a couple of hours, so..." Ash nodded. "Yeah... Night... or morning... I'm not sure which one..." Misty smiled. "Night, Ash." she said, stepping forwards and kissing him gently on the cheek before turning and walking back out of the spare room. Ash slowly lifted his hand and lightly touched his cheek. "Night, Misty."

Later that morning... "Oh, good morning, Ash. Even though it's practically afternoon... Did you have a good sleep?" Ash nodded. "Yeah. It helped me remember why I can up to visit you..." Misty raised an eyebrow. "Yeah? What's that?" Ash stepped forwards and kissed her nervously on the lips. "To do that." he answered, stepping back. Misty blushed and smiled. "Works for me." she grinned, pulling him closer.
