Zephyr.

Disclaimer: I don't own Pokémon. I do have several Charizards, including at least one at level 100... but his name is Flicker.

Summary: Zephyr the Charizard looks back on his life...

Hi! My name's Zephyr... well, that's what my trainer calls me at least... I'm actually a Charizard. Cool, eh? Yeah! We've had some fun times, my trainer and I. Not to mention some really wild battles. We've only lost... wellll, okay, maybe a couple of times, I'll admit, but I wasn't feeling too good those times... Anyway, I'm gonna tell you my story, so pay attention, or I'll flame ya! Just kidding!

Let me see now... I've been with my trainer for about, seven years now, so that makes me about seven-and-a-half, maybe eight, years old. Man, back then, I was such a puny little Charmander! I hardly had any tail flame at all! And all I could do was a rather pathetic Scratch attack... Whenever the older Charmanders had mock battles, they'd always leave me out, saying that I was so small, I'd just get hurt. It was even worse when most of them evolved into Charmeleons... then they'd tease me about being weak. Although, looking back, I'd have to admit that I was...

One day, after they'd finished beating me up again, I wandered off to be alone. And maybe to cry a little... That's when this old human threw this strange round ball at me. I could feel it being picked up and carried away, with me inside it!

Sometime later, I was finally let out into this strange room. At the time, I thought it was one of those places that humans shelter in when it's raining, and I guess I was half-right. I later found out that it was a Pokecenter. That's a place where humans take injured Pokémon to be healed, and some wild Pokémon go there for help too. Anyway, I was scared, but this nice female human, who I later learned was called Nurse Joy, gave me some really nice food, and she healed up all my wounds from being beat up by those lousy Charmeleons. Then she put me in a nice warm place and told me to get some sleep, which I had no trouble with, after that great meal...

The next morning, the old human came back. I was put back inside the ball and carried away. After a while, he let me out in this open field. I could see a few other Pokémon around, but nobody I knew. The human told me that he was someone who studies Pokémon like me, and gives special ones to young trainers so that they could grow strong together. He said that when I'm ready, a young human will arrive, and if they pick me, we will travel together and learn many things, and teach each other about life. I think humans must get weird when they get old...

Not long after, a trainer did come and pick me, and I've been with him ever since. I owe him a lot. He helped me become stronger, and even evolve into the glorious specimen of a Charizard you see before you. Right now, we're flying over the place where I was born. If those Charmeleons are still down there, they can eat my tail flame!

Like it? Hate it? Either way, it's on the tower now, and there's nothing you can do about it! Mwahahahahahaha! Lack of sleep is not a good thing...
