The Blending of Two Planets

Chapter 9

Oh, my head. I felt groggy. I tried to rub it, but I found my arms tied to a chair.

"Just great!" I cried. I tried to jump up and down with the chair. Maybe I'll be able to break it. It was no use. I looked around the room. It was bare in a creepy sort of way. But my bag was still here! Whoever tied me up must have been an idiot for leaving my bag with me. I scooted my chair over, making a huge racket. But no one came in. I tried to open it with my feet, but that took a while. After ten minutes, I managed to take out the flute Alakazam gave me. As I was getting ready to blow it, a thought came into my mind.

'Don't do it.'

'Why not?'

'Because you don't know enough yet. Maybe this is a good thing.'

'What are you, crazy? I'm tied to a chair here!!'

I shook that off of my mind. I must be going crazy, I was talking to myself! I blew hard into the whistle. No sound came out. I blew it again. No sound. I dropped it in frustration.

{You called?} Alakazam materialized in front of me. His face dropped. {I was hoping you would be Kom.}

"Untie me! They've taken control of Kom! They're putting this dosage stuff into him and they're controlling him! You've got to help me help him!" The moment I said that, a thought came into my mind.

'Can you trust him?'

'What? Of course I can!'

'You've only known him for two days.'

'So? I can trust him!'

'How do you know?'

I shook that thought off of my mind. Alakazam untied me and helped me up.

{You say they are controlling Kom?}

"Yes, they've injected something into him so that he'll think the way they want him to!"

{Were you injected with this?}

"Of course, I wasn't? I never saw them do it to me!" Another thought came to my mind.

'Don't tell him anything! He can't be trusted! You've told him too much!'

'What? I can trust him, I can!'

{They might have injected it into you while you were sleeping.}

"I..." I was confused. "I don't know. They might have. But not a strong enough dosage because I'm pretty much thinking for myself, I think. But these thoughts just keep popping up in my mind that's telling me to stop fighting."

{You were injected too. Not heavily, but you have some in you, too.}

'Don't listen to him. He doesn't know what he's talking about. You're the one who knows what's going on, not him.'

"You know what, Alakazam? I think you're right."

'No! What are you doing?!? He doesn't know what he's doing!!!'

{Are you ok? You're pale.}

"No, I'm not. I'm having a hard time controlling myself here." I shook my head. "But we can't dwell on that. We have to help Kom."

'No, don't do it. You might get hurt. It's not wise to battle them. Stay here where it's safe.'

"Ok, now, I'm sure I was injected with this stuff. It's really annoying." I tried to open the door, but it was locked.

{Allow me.} Alakazam used Psychic which crushed the door into splinters. I glanced outside and was glad to see there was no one. I picked up my bag and tiptoed away. When I turned around, I was shocked to see Alakazam gone so soon.

"Where are you, Alakazam?" I whispered.

{I am here. I'm just invisible. I will follow you around and help you when you need help.}

I tiptoed down the hall and I could tell I was still in Professor Birch's Research Center. The wall material and the wallpaper design was the same. There was a muffled shout in the room next to me and Alakazam blasted it before I had a chance to ask. Inside was Kom!

"Let go!!" he yelled. "Kristy! Get out of here!" There were three big guys who each had a syringe in their hand. They dropped their syringes and charged towards me.

"Augh!!" I screamed. But before I could run away, their bodies were lifted and dropped. Then the string that tied Kom up untied itself and went around the three guys. Although they were unconcious, we couldn't take the chance of them waking up.

"Thanks, Alakazam!" I said.

{What do we do now? Is the mission accomplished?}

"What are you doing here?!?" snapped Kom. Then his face unscrunched himself and he apologized to Alakazam.

{Young master, I'm here to serve you and it is I who should be apologizing to you and not you to me. Should we escape from this place? Or would you like to see what goes on ahead?}

"I don't know. First I would like to know what's going on."

"Oh, I know what's going on!" Before I got a chance to say anything, another thought came to my mind.

'Should you really tell them? Can they be trusted?'

'Oh, shut up!'

I shook my head. "Anyways-"

"What was that?" Kom asked.

"Oh, nothing. It's just that these horrible thoughts keep popping into my mind and there's nothing I can do to stop it. All I can do is just go against what it's telling me.

Kom's eyes widened. "Me-" he paused and strained himself. "-too."

"It's because the guys that brought us here put some sort of drug into us. I think those three guys at first were trying to put some in you. It's suppose to control your every thoughts."

'You idiot! How could you!' I shrugged that thought away from my mind.

"No wonder..." his voice trailed off. "Wait, how do you know? What else do you know?"

"Well..." I told everything I read from the journal as thoughts kept bombarding me, telling me to stop.

"Oh..."

{So should we escape from this place, or should we continue on?}

"I think we should leave and come back later when we're ready." replied Kom.

{If we leave, they will be more alert next time and it'll be harder to get in. It would be best to strike them when they least expect it.}

"But my Pokemon are tired and I'm sure some of Kom's are, too." Kom checked his belt was surprised to see that they were still there.

"And they already know we're here, we should come back once it's calmed down."

{But by then, their research might be complete. To tackle the problem of your tired Pokemon, we might find something that will heal them as we go on. This is a reseach center.}

"You've got a point there. And if we did decide to get out of here, how would we? We might be underground."

"So it's settled. We stay here?"

"I don't think we have a choice." a faint thought came into my mind.

'You fool...' and I was glad that the effects of the drug was decreasing.

"Alakazam?"

{Yes, master?}

"Sorry for getting all mad at you. I'm just glad you're here to help us."

{Thank you for forgiving me.}

We continued down the halls. Alakazam remained invisible and would occasionally help us each time we met a guard. They never knew what hit them.

Most of the rooms weren't worth checking. Then we found a room labeled 'Chaos Mechanism,' sort of. It had something else on, but someone scratched the words 'Chaos Mechanism' over it.

Of course we went inside and guess what I saw. It was that glowing contraption I saw the first day I was here.

"Kom." I whispered to him and poked him. "It's the machine that Professor Birch got all mad at me over. They must have moved it here after I found it."

It had a dial and a button next to it. I turned the dial a couple of times to see what words would come up. One of them were Earth. If I managed to stop this operation, I might be able to go home afterwards!

"Let's get out of here. There isn't anything to see."

"Alright." I was still hesitant in leaving, but Kom scooted me off. "Maybe we'll find an important clue..."

"Let's go."

We left it and continued down the hall ways. It was getting annoying to see the same gray walls over and over again. I really wanted to get out of this place. Finally we found a rusty healing machine and we stopped be there. Alakazam let Kom contain him inside a Pokeball so that he could be healed as well.

Before we left, I spotted something roung lying behind the machine.

"Wait, Kom!" I exclaimed. "I think it's an egg!"

He glanced at where I was pointing and exclaimed, "You're right! Maybe you should take it, it might be a rare or strong Pokemon."

"Ok!" I smiled to myself as I picked it up. How lucky!

Then we found another room labeled the 'Meeting Room.' We didn't expect any people to be in there so we decided to check it out. How wrong we were. The moment we opened the door, a shrill alarm sounded and the people rose from their seat.

"Intuders! Get them!" shouted a man. They each called out a Pokemon and the battle begun.
