A New Adventure Chapter 1: The TrainerÆs Dream The sun broke over the waves that blocked the horizon. Olivine City was starting another day. The lighthouse spun around for the last time and flicked out. The docks were crammed with boats and the early morning surfers were riding their LaprasÆ and their BlastoiseÆ. One boy though, was not up and ready. Ryo Surf. He dreamed of becoming big in the Pokemon World. The Johto league was waiting for him. But he lacked one thing; Pokemon. The first step in becoming a master is having a Pokemon. The alarm sounded and Ryo pressed the stopper. He fell out of bed and opened his drawers. He pulled out his jeans and jacket. He slipped them on and looked into his mirror. æI will become a master. Today, I will catch the biggest Pokemon ever!Æ He heard a giggling outside. He ran to his window. Ryo looked down to see Jasmine, the Gym Leader, walk past. Her Magnemite was floating behind her. Her chestnut brown hair was swaying in the wind behind her. RyoÆs hands started shaking. They had known each other from birth, but Ryo had never realised his love for her until just a few years back. He wanted to become a trainer; she wanted to become a co-ordinator. But then she became a Gym Leader, and he becameà well, nothing. Her steel Pokemon could take down a full grown Dragonair! That was the kind of trainer Ryo strived to become. Downstairs at the table his Mum had a surprise for him. æRyo, I want you to have this.Æ She said as he was half way through his Poke Flakes. æItÆs your fatherÆs first ever Poke ball. Now you can become a trainer like your father too!Æ She had a huge smile that spread across her face. RyoÆs face was a different story. His eyes were bulging, his face red, his stomach twisted. He never thought this moment would come, and it just had. He tried to speak but no words came out. HeÆd studied Pokemon all his life. He knew everything already; his dad was a researcher in Sinnoh after all. His first ever Pokemon was a rare Eevee. Maybe Ryo could get something like that. æLost for words I see.Æ His mother laughed, æNever mind, thanks me laterÆ Ryo stood up and ran outside, his black skinny jeans clinging to his legs, his Vans sticking to his feet. The future trainer looked a mess, but he certainly didnÆt feel it.
