A New Adventure Chapter2: The One He started at the docks. Some Wingull, a Goldeen or two. Then he checked out the north of Olivine. He found a Meowth and, a Cacturne, and a Poliwag. Not really worth it. Then he saw her. Her and her Magnemite, training together. The sun broke through the trees and shone on her brown hair. She spun around and looked at Ryo Surf, a new trainer looking for the perfect partner. His jet black hair fell over his eyes, his arms hung down by his side. His fathers Poke Ball and Pokedex in his pockets. Then he saw something in a hole behind her. A Pokemon! An orange one! Could it be a… Yes it was! A Growlithe! His dream Pokemon, right before him. ‘Jasmine! Check it out!’ ‘Check what out Ryo?’ she asked. ‘Behind you! It’s my dream Pokemon! Growlithe!’ He was filled with joy. He couldn’t believe his eyes. Fourteen years of waiting, and he’d finally found it. ‘That’s awesome, but… how will you catch it?’ he pulled out his Poke Ball. The light caught it and it shine in the mid morning sun. It must have sparked the corners of Growlithe’s eyes because he turned around instantly. It didn’t look that evil but he couldn’t take any chances. He stared the dog Pokemon in the eye and edged forward. ‘Just focus and then you can definitely catch it. It’s how I got Magnemite!’ Her face was as determined as his. She had confidence in him, but could he still pull it off. He moved closer to the Growlithe, as it copied his every move. He reared back and threw the Poke Ball. It opened as it flew through the air, releasing a swirl of pure white light. It fell over the fire-type and trapped it inside the ball. It shook once, a red light flashing in the middle. He hoped his only ball would work. The flashing stopped. Had it caught the dog Pokemon? The ball opened and the stream of light appeared again. Growlithe did not appear to be angry. Instead he walked up to Ryo, who was close to tears, and licked his shins. Ryo looked down and Growlithe returned the gaze. He picked him up and hugged him. The baby Growlithe fell asleep and Ryo smiled. ‘I… got a… Growlithe!’ Ryo shouted. ‘Well done, Ryo!’ she said, crying herself, ‘Your first ever Pokemon!’ she ran over to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Ryo turned as red as his Growlithe. ‘It’s still technically wild, so I didn’t really catch him. But if you say so, I think I’ll call him, uhhh… Flare!’ And so the first step in Ryo’s adventure has been completed. But what does the future hold… will their relationship survive? And what of Jasmine? Will they travel together? The wild Growlithe and Ryo, true partners.
