Where Does The Crow Fly?

Last Time

During Flyy's battle with Colin, D.I. Smith interrupts and takes Colin into custody for trying to hurt Flyy with his Tauros. Luckily though, Kim's Clefairy, Daffodil, used Metronome to create a Smokescreen, in which the kids escaped to the Gym.
Falkner has now challenged Flyy to his first Gym Battle. Will he win? Or will Tick get caught by Smith?

The battle started straight after Falkner had given Flyy his Badges Case and PokeGear. He said that there was a Pokedex Card to go with it.
'The battle will have to be one-on-one, as Flyy only has Tick,' Kim announced. 'May the one-on-one battle between Flyy Bazu and his Electrike and Falkner Clarkson and his Pidgeotto...' Just like her brother earlier, she paused and looked at Flyy and Falkner. '...commence!'
'Tick, Quick Attack!' Tick began charging straight for Pidgeotto.
'Up...' Falkner said casually.
As Tick reached jumping distance of the Flying-Type, it flew up in one swift motion, causing Tick to land heavily.
'Peck that little dude, Pidgeotto!' Falkner called out. Pidgeotto came swooping down with its beak glowing.
'Thundershock!' Tick let out a sudden surge of energy and small bolts of electricity caught Pidgeotto off-guard. It hit the ground with a crash and slid along the floor.
'Come on, buddy! You can do this!' Pidgeotto struggled to get up, but when it did, it called out and spread its wings. Tick let out a groan.
'Don't worry! You can take him! Bite!' Flyy called to his partner. Tick began running again and opened his jaws wide. He went to use Bite on Pidgeotto, but a sudden crackle from Tick's mouth, meant he used Thunder Fang instead!
'No way! Thunder Fang! How cool is that?' Flyy shouted. Pidheotto didn't find it that cool though. He dropped to the floor, unconscious.
'The winner is Flyy and Tick!' Kim cried. Flyy ran up to Falkner and shook his hand.
Falkner flicked his hair out of his eyes. 'Nice battle, Flyy. Take this.' He pulled out a small badge with arched wings on it. 'The Zephyr Badge. Congratulations, Flyy! Next you can battle Bugsy in Azalea Town!'
'Thank you...' Flyy said almost silently n disbelief. He's done it! He was on his way to being a master!

Sleuth was trying to tackle the door down, but it was no use. Smith had gone round the back to see if there was a ladder with which he could climb on the roof of the Gym. Sleuth just thought he was getting too obsessed with this case.
He saw the way Smith had looked at Tick and Flyy when they were battling. It reminded him of his youth, and Sleuth's.
Sleuth also missed the old days when it was all about the fun, and working hard. Smith began taking it seriously once Sleuth was a Luxio.
'Sleuth!' came the all to familiar voice of his trainer.
When he got there, Smith was on the roof and looking down at him.
'I found a hatch! See if you can climb up the ladder.' There was no need for a ladder, Sleuth just took one bounce and he managed to land on the edge of the roof. 'Wow, boy! Your training must really be paying off.' Why was he being so nice? 'Now, I need you to drop in there and round the kids up. Be careful, though, that Electrike is one tough cookie.'
Sleuth was unsure, but he ripped the door of and dropped through. He landed on all fours and growled at Tick.
Tick turned around and saw him. He growled back, small yellow flickers dancing around his teeth.
Flyy saw Tick and stroked him. 'Good job, boy. Look!' He showed him the badge but Tick remained fixated on one spot. When Flyy looked up, he saw why. The Luxio from earlier was staring Tick down.
'Guys, look!' Falkner and Kim spun around and saw the Luxio, and the rope that D.I. Smith was sliding down.
'Hello again, children.' Flyy was surprised. How on earth did they get onto the roof? 'Give it to me. The Pokemon, now!'
'I told you earlier, no' Flyy replied.
'Daffodil, Metronome!' Daffodil's hands began glowing again. Flyy braced himself. Then the ground began to shake. Tick jumped straight into Flyy's backpack.
Luxio began looking woozy. He shook on the spot, then fell over, unconscious.
'One day that Clefairy won't be here to save you, Flyy, then I can take that Electrike and your father won't get beaten by Team Rocket!' Smith then picked up Luxio and kicked the front door down.
'Thanks, Daffodil. I'll take you to the Center later, OK?' Kim praised. Daffodil clapped and took her place on Kim's head.
'Are you OK, Flyy?' Falkner asked.
Lots of things were going through Flyy's head. He didn't realise that his dad's wellbeing depended on him and Tick. Maybe he should go to New Bark Town. At least then he wouldn't keep being followed.
'Flyy? Are you with us?'
'Wha... Oh, yeah.' Flyy ran his right hand through his brown hair. 'I'm going to New Bark. I'm taking Tick back to Elm...' his voice trailed off.
'No! Tick loves you, Flyy!' Kim protested.
'But I love my dad, Kim! You heard what Smith said! My dad could die!'
'How do you think he knew where you were in the first place? Your dad told Smith where you are Flyy!'
'Then I should have given up Tick back then! My mind is set, I'm leaving, whether you come or not.' Flyy turned to leave, but then he called to Kim: 'And I'm not coming back to get you!' Then he pushed the doors open and sprinted towards Cherrygrove, his home.
'How can he do that to Tick?' Kim said to her brother.
'He won't get rid of him. Elm won't let him, trust me. Rocket will be there already, but Flyy will stop them.' He turned to his sister. 'He's going to need your help.'
'But I can't get there.' Kim whined. Falkner drew a PokeBall.
'I've been meaning to give you this for a while. It's a Spearow and it's yours now. Her name is... well, that's up to you really' Falkner said.
'Wow, Falkner! Thank you. Can it Fly me to New Bark?'
'It'll struggle, but yes, it can.'
Kim released it and out came a brown bird. It was small and quite ugly, but Kim loved her straight away. 'Come on, Peck. We have an Electrike to save!'

In the Pokemon Center, Smith and Sleuth were in OR 2, getting Sleuth healthy again. They were there for about forty-five minutes before they were allowed to leave.
'Thank you for using our facilities today!' Nurse Joy smiled. 'Might I interest you in our competition, you could win a sp-'
'No thank you,' Smith cut in. 'We are awfully busy. Sorry.'
'Not to worry! Be careful now.' Her face turned dark. 'Are you looking for that Electrike?'
'Y...y...yes, but how did you-?' Smith stammered.
'I work at the lab. I was a prime suspect, remember? Monica Clarkson?'
Smith's mind suddenly began working very quickly. She was a prime suspect, and Smith remembered the interview well. She admitted to assisting Mr. Bazu, but only to get her daughter back. But that was still an offence. Why had Smith let her off?
'Miss Clarkson, I am placing you under arrest for theft and impersonation. If you'd like to come with me, please, thank you.'
Sleuth was struggling to keep up. Why was Smith arresting Nurse Joy? But then he saw the pink wig fall off. The green eyes, the chestnut hair, she was the female suspect. Sleuth growled at her.
'Stay away from me! I'm inoccent!'
'Tell it to the Chief Commissioner in Goldenrod!'
'Falkner! Kim! I need you!'
That's when the blue haired boy smashed the window. He was accompanied by his Pidgeotto. 'Let my mum go!' he shouted.
'I don't have time for this!' Smith shouted back. 'Sleuth! Use Thunder!' Sleuth obeyed and pounced, his tail glowing yellow. Pidgeotto tried to fly away, but the mass of electricity sucked him in and spat him back out, badly burnt.
'Pidgeotto!' Flakner glared at Smith. 'Let her go!' he shouted again.
'Don't worry, Falkner! Once Flyy returns the Electrike, you can see me again. Make sure he does it!' Then Smith charged for the door, Sleuth just in front of him, and turned right, heading back to Goldenrod.

Flyy was already on the outskirts of New Bark. He could see the lab.
'Flyy!' Flyy looked up. Kim was hanging onto a Spearow's leg. They were getting lower and lower until they landed in front of him. 'Nice work, Peck, you can rest now.' And she returned her to her PokeBall.
'So you've decided to watch me save my dad, huh? Once this is done, I'm going back to Cherrygrove where I can buy some PokeBalls, and start my adventure the real way.'
'Flyy, Tick-'
'I know, you gave me this speech before, remember?'
'No, Flyy, look!' Flyy turned around and Tick was on the floor. He was standing on his hind legs and was doing tricks. Backflips, walking, hand-walks.
'Nice one, buddy. But you have to go to Elm, otherwise my dad might die.' Tick looked really sad. 'Look, Tick. It's better to do this now than when my dad takes you as a Manectric. Besides, Elm will take better care of you than I ever could...' Flyy began crying.
'Kim! Leave him! He has to do it!'
'Falkner?' This time, Falkner was hanging on to a Pidgey.
When they landed, Falkner returned the Pidgey and looked at Flyy. 'He needs to do this. Mum has been arrested and Smith won't let her out until Tick is returned.'
'Well she deserves it! She assisted Mr. Bazu anyway!' Kim shouted.
The explosion that followed lifted all of them off of their feet and they were thrown back a few feet.
What the-?'
'The lab!' Flyy said as he and Tick ran into the smoke.
'Flyy!' Kim called.
'I told you Rocket would be here. We can't let him show Elm that he's capable of looking after Tick!' Falkner said, following Flyy.
Kim released Peck and a Gust managed to clear the smoke. 'Come on team!' she said, running into the now clear town...
