O.K. For Reviews Please email me at millsieminor@hotmail.co.uk. I know you won't, but it's worth a try... And also, just to clear things up, Glamour is a Skitty! Chapter Six In the morning, after the alarms had gone off, Andrew had moaned, Lola had threatened him and Flick had eaten his body weight, the duo set out on their journey back to Oreburgh City where Spook would have his first Gym Battle, and with a friend too. Flick didn't seem to mind the walking, maybe because he was carried half of the way. 'Why won't you get inside your PokŽ Ball?' Spook had asked. Flick turned away quickly and stared at the ground. He had spent his whole life in that PokŽ Ball, and when Spook released him, it felt like PokŽmas again! He had been waiting forever, literally. 'Maybe he just doesn't like it?' Lola said, 'He has spent most of his life in it after all.' 'And he was stuck with Andrew,' Spook added. 'Right.' Half an hour later, Spook decided that it was training time. He released Slash and Lola released Glamour and Specs. 'Maybe, as Roark is a single battle trainer, we ought to have a single battle too,' Lola said. Spook nodded in agreement. 'So I'm going to send in Flick!' 'Glamour! You're up!' The two PokŽmon stood twenty metres apart, growling at each other. Spook laughed at Flick's feeble attempts at a growl. 'He tries too hard to impress me,' Spook said to himself, 'But I don't mind, it's nice to have a PokŽmon that does well.' He then turned to Slash, who was standing right behind him. 'You're next, buddy!' he said to his eager partner. Slash nodded. 'Assist!' The Skitty leaped into the air, then curled up into a ball and shot itself at Flick. Specs' Rollout Attack. Flick effortlessly jumped to the side. Spook commanded it to use Bite, and Flick did. He pounced at Glamour; jaws wide open, and then slammed them shut around its waist. There was a cry of pain from the cat-like PokŽmon, then it began to glow, yellow. The yellow light began to change shape, it became golden, glowing wings. They then began to flap, until Skitty took off, holding Flick by the legs. Flick let his guard down once Glamour began to glow. He was then pushed over. When he opened his eyes, he was ten feet in the air. Glamour had used Assist again and taken Birdy's Fly Attack. 'Flick!' Spook called to him, 'Flick! Don't look down!' Spook was worried about him. He knew now that Flick was afraid of heights, but he needed to know how to make him conquer it. As they flew, the looped and rolled and spun. Flick was now panicking so much that a high-pitched scream was coming from him. 'Don't worry!' Spook said out loud, then he went back inside his head. 'I just need him to use Rock Smash. Just one, then he can Dig just before landing.' The screaming stopped, then another scream started. Lola and Spook looked to the fighting pair to see Flick blindly head butting Glamour. 'Yes!' thought Spook, 'He's doing what I thought he would! Wait. He's doing what I thought he would?' Next came the falling, Glamour's glowing wings faded as soon as Flick first struck her. They were about twenty metres when they disappeared. Flick managed to fall a lot faster for he had pointed his head at the ground and was as streamlined as possible. But Glamour was flailing around. She was falling fast, but a lot slower than Flick. As Flick went to hit the ground, he opened his jaws, and then sunk into the dirt and mud. Whilst he did this, his opponent PokŽmon was getting ever closer to the ground. Lola's face turned pale as Glamour reached five metres, but her face returned to normal when an Orange blur shot out of the ground and pushed her Skitty away. Glamour went up a few feet aain, then came hitting the ground, not quite as hard as what would have happened. She was unconscious. 'No!' gasped Lola. She ran to her PokŽmon and nurtured it in her arms. 'I'll win this for you...' Her voice trailed off. 'I'm sorry, Lola. If I knew that Flick would follow my thoughts I wouldn't have let him do i-' He was cut off by Lola. 'Did you say read your thoughts?' 'Yes, what about it.' 'I've only heard of one person being able to do that. Her name was Sabrina I think.' 'The Gym Leader in Kanto?' 'Yes.' 'She is my Auntie.' Lola's jaw dropped for what wasn't the first time after having a conversation with Spook. 'That would make sense. I remember hearing a legend when I was little about something like that.' 'Go on.' Spook was interested in hearing about his newfound power. He beckoned for Flick and Slash to come over whilst Lola kept her PokŽmon in their PokŽ Balls. 'It is said that every Generation in a certain family has a psychic. In this case, you, Spook. 'This psychic has the ability to talk to his or her PokŽmon through telepathy. So, when you said in your mind for Flick to use Rock Smash, he understood and followed,' Lola said. 'But he isn't a psychic-type PokŽmon though. How did he understand? And if I can speak to them, can they speak to me?' 'Maybe. I don't know, try.' He turned to Slash and said in his mind: 'Slash, can you hear me. Please talk back if you can.' Then he waited. 'Yes I can, Spook.' Spook nearly rolled over in shock. 'Wow! See if you can speak normally and do it!' Lola had guessed that it worked when Spook went white. 'O.K. Slash, same drill. Speak if you here me.' 'Loud and clear, buddy!' Slash said. 'O...K.' said Spook in a mixture of amazement, confusion and shock. 'It worked then?' 'Yes. It's weird. Carry on with the story.' 'Where was I? Of course, yes. 'So the psychic can talk to PokŽmon both telepathically and the newly discovered human speech. The only problem was that every other Generation, had no emotions until the age of sixteen.' 'I have emotions.' 'Then your children or nephews or nieces will have it.' 'O.K.' 'This happened with your Auntie as well. She had a battle on her birthday against someone named Ash Ketchum, and he managed to get her emotions back. Then her sister had children, and then there was you and your brother Lucas.' 'But he left three years ago. I haven't seen him since Cyrus disappeared into the Distortion World. Everyone was searching for who did it weren't they? Wait. He can't be.' 'Yes, Spook. Your brother trapped Cyrus in the Distortion World. That's why Galactic sent Dean and Terry after you. They want you as bait for Lucas!' 'But Dean and Terry got themselves fired.' 'I know, so you best be careful. Anyone could be a Galactic in disguise trying to get you,' Lola said. Spook eyed her up and down suspiciously. 'What are you-? Oh, right. Look, Spook. You're my friend. If I wanted to turn you in, I would have done it ages ago. I saved your life, I would have let you be captured if I didn't love you-.' Lola's eyes were open wide after saying that. 'What?' Spook said. 'I said I would have left you if I didn't look like you,' Lola said off of the top her head. 'No. You said that you-' Spook was interrupted by the unexpected. Lola jumped at him and began kissing him. Spook was so surprised, but happy. So she did feel the same! They lay there for five minutes, just embracing. Afterwards there was an awkward silence. 'I'm sorry,' Lola said after two minutes. 'No. Don't be. I like you too.' Lola's face lit up. She looked at Spook and said: 'Really? Why?' 'Well, you saved my life, and you're very pretty.' Spook still wasn't very good with girls, as you can tell. His white hair was no blowing across his face. He usually had it across his right eye, but after the current events, it was everywhere. 'I always knew she liked you, Spook!' said an overjoyed Slash. 'Can we eat now?' said Flick. 'In a bit, Flick. Right now, I want to spend time with Lola.' Flick then groaned. 'I've never had a girl like me before. I don't really know what to do,' Spook said, embarrassed. 'Don't worry. All you have to know is that I'm not from Galactic, I'm not going to sell you to them, and that I love you,' Lola said in a kind voice. When she smiled it seemed a lot like the Nurse Joy at Sandgem PokŽmon Centre. 'Say, you're not in any relation to Nurse Joy from Sandgem are you?' 'Nope! Cherrygrove Town in Johto,' Lola replied, 'But she sent me here when I was little, because my father ran away. But I'm fine with Uncle and his Aides!'* 'Cool.' 'What about your Father? I haven't seen him.' 'He's dead.' Lola gasped and put her hand over her mouth. 'I'm sorry, Spook. I didn't know.' 'It's fine. He died in the mines, him and his Machop. They were lifting heavy machinery, but a part fell off the drill, and it was big. It fell on my Dad. Machop managed to lift it, but my Dad was already dead.' 'Oh, Spook.' She ran over to him and hugged him. 'Machop ran back to the house to tell us. 'We all ran to the mines and fought through the crowd, but we were too late. He had died instantly. 'I remember looking at his pale, dead face, his eyes were rolled back and his nose was badly broken, and seeing him wink at me. I told Mum, but she said that in was silly and a dead body couldn't wink. 'But to this day, I think he's watching over me and Lucas.' Spook began to cry. Lola hugged him even tighter and began to cry too. 'It's O.K., Spook. I love you, and I'll protect you too.' So the new, Psychic Spook, and his new girlfriend Lola, set out to Oreburgh, not knowing what awaited them. Spook still didn't know what he was going to say when he saw his Mum, but he would tackle that as it came. *When I say Uncle's Aides, I don't mean that he has the STD, AIDS, but his assistants. Just for your piece of mind, Professor Rowan is fine.
