Chapter 1: It Begins

--

Narrator: Oh, hello. I didn’t see you there. What’s that you say? So you want to know how this all started, huh? Sure, I’ll tell you. But let me warn you: it’s not pretty, not one bit. First off, let me introduce myself. My name is Misty Waterflower, former Cerulean City Pokemon Gym Leader. Why former? Well, I’ll tell you. And yes, it has to do with the story. Let’s begin.

It all started 4 years ago. That was when we heard the news: Sailor Moon, the defender of Earth, was defeated. We should have been concerned then, but we thought nothing of it. That would turn out to be a mistake; one of the costliest mistakes humanity ever made. We would pay dearly for it.

A few months after the news of Sailor Moon’s defeat, we began hearing reports of strange attacks around the world. At first, we foolishly thought this was simple gang violence. No need to be concerned, right? Wrong. Soon, we began hearing about whole towns, cities and villages being wiped out without a trace. We were shocked when we heard this. What could have done this? The world’s armies reacted quickly, but by then, it was too late.

A few months later, refugees began arriving in my home town of Cerulean City, California. The city of Cerulean expanded at an enormous rate due to the influx of these refugees. Outside the city, the attacks continued. The refugees brought with them stories of strange creatures that overran everything. The perpetrators were described as being like Orcs or something. They attacked without mercy, without feeling, or remorse. They destroyed everything and everyone in their path. There was no stopping them. Our biggest question, though, was where did they come from? And what did they have to do with Sailor Moon? How is it that this had anything to do with her defeat? And why were these refugees coming to Cerulean? We had these questions because, quite simply, we had no idea what in the world was going on. It's confusing, I know.

Within months, the world was in peril. A great part of the world was turned into barren wasteland. At the same time, Cerulean was forced to annex the costal city of Vermillion City to hold the refugees and the surrounding farmland to survive. It was at that time city officials told us they were planning on building a dome to protect the city. We feared our city would be the next one attacked. For some reason though, we were never attacked. We were lucky. Because before we knew it, we were all that was left of civilization. The world was gone. And we were alone. Even with world leaders—the ones left, anyway—telling us we were fine, we were frightened, scared we would be attacked. We were right.

With the last refugees reaching our city, the enemy came. The Orc-like creatures attacked the city, just as the refugees arrived. The remaining military units fought valiantly, giving the refugees enough time to reach the city. But I remember that day. And it was terrifying. I hid in my gym with my friends, Ash Ketchum and his mother; Brock Harrison and his family; May West, and her friend Drew, and other refugees that I sheltered in my gym. We were all beyond terrified. We thought this was the end of humanity. And then, just when it seemed all was lost, a miracle happened.

Just when it seemed the orcs would enter the city, they stopped. Why? We weren’t sure at first. All we knew was that it seemed some invisible wall was preventing the Orcs from reaching the city limits and keeping them out. Humans, Pokemon and regular animals, however, were unaffected. We were safe. The orcs couldn’t get in. Then, we found out who saved us—Sailor Moon.

Using the power of the Silver Crystal, she set up a barrier protecting us from the Forces of Darkness. But it came at a great cost to her; doing so drained her powers, preventing her from transforming into Sailor Moon. What’s more, she needed the powers of her guardian Sailor Warriors to set up the barrier. Doing so drained their powers, as well. We were left without protectors; helpless in the case of an attack, and a barrier that would weaken on occasion. But the biggest question was this: how did she lose her powers?

It has now been two years since then. We are now a self-sustaining domed city-state; the last refuge of humanity and civilization. We were cut off from the outside world—if there is one. Surrounding us is what is known as the ‘Wastes’; a desert-like post-apocalyptic wasteland that spans farther than the eye can see, and seems to go on for an eternity. Beyond that is anyone’s guess. We’re not even sure if we really are the last remnants of civilization. There might be more out there somewhere.

Thanks to the barrier, though, technicians began designing the dome protecting us from orc attacks. It was built by anyone who was healthy enough to work on it. But the dome is not complete. It is estimated to take some time to fimish. The dome covers Cerulean, the former costal city of Vermillion (now simply a part of Cerulean), part of the Pacific Ocean, and surrounding farmland. We use renewable energy sources and we recycle our water and air. Scientists think we can survive for centuries. Their main concern, though, is the overcrowding in this city. They fear there may not be enough food or medical care for eveyone. The reason Vermillion was annexed was so we could handle the overcrowding. Instead, we found we still had to deal with it.

Meanwhile, life goes on—sort of. Some of us (me included) adjusted to life under the dome easily. Others have not. They lost loved ones, property in the orc attacks. Even worse, there is still the fear of attack. Due to occasional shield breaches and barrier weakening, the orcs have gotten in on occasion. But there is hope.

Lately, some guy wearing red spandex has been fighting Orcs if they get in. He calls himself the Red Power Ranger, and he has filled the void left by Sailor Moon. But he is just one and the Orcs are many. Sometimes, we wonder if he is even enough. We fear he may fail. But what they—and he—don’t know is that he’s going to get some help…

--

Present day; two years after the barrier was created.

The 5 bank robbers worked at a frenzied pace to load their haul into their car. They worked with their hurried pace because they knew not only could the Cerulean Police show up, but he could show up at any minute, as well. It was 1:00 AM, the best time of day—or night—to commit these criminal acts because the police would be letting their guard down at this hour. “Come on, hurry up!” Their boss shouted. “We don’t need everything, just enough!” They continued their pilfering until suddenly—

“Man, you guys are low!” A voice suddenly shouted from out of nowhere. The robbers stopped in their tracks, looking for the source of the voice. “We’re the last remnants not only of civilization, but possibly of humanity, and you guys have the gall to rob a bank!”

“Who said that!?” The boss shouted into the night, looking for the source of the voice. “Who are you? Show yourself!”

“I’m right here!” The voice shouted. “Right above you!” The robbers looked at the roof of the bank and saw a silhouette of a male figure on top of it. The boss laughed, thinking it was nothing.

“You?” He said. “What are you gonna do? You can’t stop us!”

“Oh, yes I can!” The figure shouted back. Then he grabbed something from out of his jacket and grabbed something else, before seemingly combining both objects. Then, he shouted the words the robbers dreaded so much, confirming their hidden fears to his identity. “RPM! Get it gear!” There was a flash of red light and the would-be bank robbers watched the figure flip off the roof and into the light of the street light, revealing himself. In the light, they saw a man wearing red-colored spandex-like material and a helmet with a black, opaque visor.

The robbers recoiled, as they realized exactly who it was. “Oh, crap! It’s the Red Ranger!” One shouted. “Run!”

“No, we do not run!” Their boss shouted before taking out a Poke Ball. He threw said Poke Ball at the Ranger, revealing a Weezing. Weezing, use smokescreen!” He shouted.

Weezing! Weez!” The Poison Pokemon shouted. Then, it released a brown-colored gas out of its mouth at the Red Ranger. The gas engulfed the Ranger, which prevented him from seeing the robbers get in their car and escape.

Argh!” He growled to himself before turning on his infra-red scan. He looked first for the Weezing, spotting it through the infra-red. He pulled out his blaster, which resembled a combination between a gun and a fuel pump nozzle. “Engine cell, activate!” He pulled out a red, chip-like object with the same symbol on his chest and inserted it into is blaster. “Nitro Blaster!” He shouted. “Stun mode!” He pointed his weapon at the Weezing, and fired. The blast hit the Weezing, knocking it to the ground. But it wasn’t dead; just stunned. “That oughta take care of him,” he said. Then, he turned around and walked out of the smoke screen and began looking for the bank robbers. By now though, they were gone. Or were they?

It was then that he noticed tire tracks heading south. “So that’s where they’re going,” he said as he put his blaster in his holster. Then, he got in a set position. The tires on his gauntlets and boots began to spin, and the treads began to glow red. Then, he took off, with the sound of screeching tires accompanying him.

The robbers laughed in their getaway car. They had just taken care of the Red Ranger! “See, he’s not so bad, boys!” Their leader said behind the wheel. “You just need to use the right—HOLY SHIT!!!” Just then, he noticed another figure in the road, this time a female figure. The driver applied the brakes hard, trying to avoid hitting her. The car screeched to a stop in front of the silhouette. “Who are you!?” He shouted. At that point, the sound of a racing engine could be heard, but the robbers ignored it. The Red Ranger reached the scene, and when he saw the girl’s figure, screeched to a stop.

“Who on earth is that?” He said to himself. He watched the girl approach the vehicle and then entered the light of the street light above her. The Red Ranger gasped at what he saw. It was—“A Sailor Warrior!” He said to himself. A Sailor Warrior, with a blue color scheme, and knee-high boots was standing in the street. She had orange hair, and from what it looked like, tied in a side ponytail. She also seemed to have green eyes, from what he could see.

“Who are you?” the bank robber leader asked again.

“Who am I?” She said. “I am the Soldier of the seas, Sailor Ocean! Stealing from a bank in the last outpost of civilization is wrong! I cannot forgive you for this! In the name of the seas, I shall punish you!”

The bank robbers looked at her in amazement for a few moments before they started to laugh. There was no way this girl was a Sailor Warrior. And yes, she could hear them. And she was not happy one bit. “A Sailor Warrior?” The leader asked. Puh-leaze! Run home kid, it’s no even Halloween yet!”

Sailor Ocean, however, was not happy. She clenched her fist and shouted back. “Don’t underestimate me!”

“They underestimate you because they’re never seen you before,” the Red Ranger said as he leapt onto the roof of the car and crossed his arms. “I suggest you leave, I was handling this crisis.”

“Shut up!” She replied. “I can handle these guys easily! What makes you think I can’t?”

“Well, there’s the fact that no one’s seen a Sailor Warrior in 4 years,” he said. “And because they can’t believe that with Sailor Moon’s loss of her powers, there’ no way there can be any left.”

“Well, here I am,” she replied. It was at that point that the bank robbers got out of the car, brandishing various weapons; guns, clubs, you name it. And it looked as though they were not playing around.

“Get out of here girly,” their leader said in a sinister tone. The 5 robbers all looked very serious—but so did Sailor Ocean. She stood in the street, unwavering. “I suggest you leave before—OOF!!!” Just then, Sailor Ocean gave him a nasty kick to his chin, sending him backwards onto his ass. The other robbers just watched in amazement before they attacked. In a fury of fists and clubs, Sailor Ocean kicked the crap out of the remaining four bank robbers. The Red Ranger simply watched in amazement, wondering just how this girl could fight so well, and that maybe she was the real deal. Then, he noticed one robber trying to escape. But so did Sailor Ocean.

“You want definitive proof?” She asked. “Here it is!” Suddenly, she began waving around her hand, and a stream of water followed it. The bank robber watched in horror. She really was a Sailor Warrior! “Tidal… Wave!” Suddenly, she sent the water at the bank robber, and it collided with him, knocking him to the ground. The Red Ranger watched.

“Impressive,” he said. Then he got down and pressed his belt buckle. The symbol on his chest began to glow, and like a projector, appeared before him, before a large sword appeared. The blade was large, and it resembled a street. “Street Saber!” he shouted. Then, he took the Street Saber and slashed at a nearby lamp post. The lamp fell to the ground and the Red Ranger walked over to it. Then, he grabbed some cables and ripped them out of the post. Sailor Ocean looked on, wondering how he was able to do that without getting electrocuted. “In case you’re wondering,” he said. “The suit blocks electricity.” Then he gathered the bank robbers and tied them up and bound their hands and feet with the wires. “Oh, and by the way,” he said. “Drop the intro. It makes you look stupid.”

Sailor Ocean looked at him with an annoyed look on her face. “Excuse me?” She said. “But the intro is part of being a Sailor Warrior!”

“It’s not a part of mine,” he replied. “And it never will be.”

“Well for you, maybe,” she replied. “I’m keeping it.” Then they heard the sound of police sirens. “How did they get here?” She asked.

“I called them here,” he replied.

“I’m not staying here,” she said. “Until we meet again!” Then, she bounded off, leaving the Red Ranger with the bank robbers. Pretty soon, the Cerulean City police showed up with 3 squad cars. And Officer Jenny got out of the center car and walked over to the Red Ranger.

“You again,” she said. “I see you’ve handled everything for us.”

“Not exactly,” he replied, causing Officer Jenny to have a confused look on her face. “Someone helped me here.”

“Who?” She asked.

“A Sailor Warrior,” he replied. Jenny’s eyes widened in complete shock at the Red Ranger’s revelation, clearly she had not heard of her. “She called herself ‘Sailor Ocean’,” he said. “She seemed to have the same color scheme and apparently costume as the former Sailor Mercury.”

“A Sailor Warrior?” Jenny asked, finally gathering her wits. “How is that possible? I thought they were all gone!”

“I’m not sure,” he replied. “But that’s what I saw. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to leave.” Then, he revved up his tires again, and sped off, leaving Officer Jenny alone with her fellow police officers.

--

A few minutes later, the Red Ranger reached his destination, a condo building close to downtown Cerulean. He went through the back, leaping up to the third story, to a balcony on said story. Then, he opened the sliding door and stepped inside. On inside, he let out a sigh before taking out his cell phone-like morpher, a Cell Shift morpher, and pressed a button on it. His helmet vanished to reveal—

Seventeen-year-old Ash Ketchum wiped his brow of sweat. It was another night on duty as the RPM Red Ranger. For months he had been fighting Orc and crime in the domed city of Cerulean, but it wasn’t until now that things changed. Sailor Ocean? Where in the world did she come from? And why did she appear now? And how did she get the Sailor powers?

He sat down on his couch, still wearing his Ranger suit, sans helmet. Rubbing his face with his hands, he thought more about Sailor Ocean, until he glanced at a picture of him when he was younger. Back when he was still a promising Pokemon trainer trying to become Pokemon Master. Back when things were simple; before the dome; before the attack.

He thought to those days. He had escaped Pallet Town the day before the orcs arrived there with his mom, Professor Oak, his friend Tracey Sketchit and old rival Gary Oak. They all fled to Cerulean City, which is where the dome was being built. Once there, they waited out the battle of Cerulean City in Misty’s Pokemon gym. After the battle, he settled down in Cerulean, getting this condo. For a year, he remained under the radar, just living a normal life. Until the day he came across the lab of the eccentric Professor Gearhead, who gave him the Ranger powers. Since then, he fought any orc band that entered the city as the RPM Red Power Ranger.

He thought about his days as a young trainer. Certainly, he had changed since then. Obviously, he was older physically. That was no surprise. But mentally, he had matured significantly. He was no longer the enthusiastic, irresponsible Pokemon trainer. Now he was the cool, level-headed Red Ranger. My, how times had changed.

It was then that he yawned, realizing he was getting tired. No doubt, considering it was close to 2:00 in the morning. He needed to get to bed! No time to think about Sailor Ocean, Sailor Moon or any of that stuff. He just needed some sleep. So, he trudged over to his bedroom.

Inside his bedroom, he stopped to pet his old friend and partner Pikachu. The two of them had been through a lot in their adventures, to the point where Ash absolutely refused to leave Pikachu behind when the Electric Mouse Pokemon got sick on the way to Cerulean. Obviously, you can see how that turned out. He walked over to his bed, and too tired to power down, he simply flopped down on his bed and fell asleep in his Ranger suit. Perhaps he could get some peace now. He felt himself drift into the realm of sleep.

--

Suddenly, Ash found himself standing atop a spiral stair, seemingly out in space. He could tell this because below him, he could see the Earth. And despite the post-apocalyptic hellhole on the surface, it looked absolutely beautiful from here. The glass stairs made its way all the way up to where Ash was. Suddenly, a man with long hair and a flowing robe appeared. He held out his hand to Ash, beckoning him to take it. After some hesitation, he took the hand and found himself being transported through time and space itself.

Suddenly, he stopped. He found himself and the oracle floating above what looked to be a palace. “What is this?” He asked. The oracle pointed to the sky, and Ash gasped. The Earth! “So that means—we’re on the moon?” The oracle nodded, telling Ash he was correct. Then he pointed to a large mass coming from Earth. Ash watched it grow bigger before he realized just what it was—an army. He watched with horror as the army attacked the palace on the moon.

The screams and shouts of the warriors filled the air, and he pulled himself away. He could barely watch. Then, he noticed a woman wearing a purple gown confront a blonde-haired girl on a balcony. Then, he watched a young man wearing armor protect the girl. The older woman became enraged and summoned a cloud of green energy that sucked the young man up into the air while the girl—presumably his lover—called to him and tried to reach him.

Then, Ash watched in horror as a bolt of evil energy struck the two, presumably killing them. The older woman was triumphant.

But that’s when he noticed another woman, this time with silver hair—probably the girl’s mother—hold up a stick with a crescent-moon shape on it. He heard the woman shout “Moon crisis power” and suddenly, the woman who was attacking disappeared. The girl, the young man, and other figures were captured in bubbles that transported them to Earth. Finally, he watched the woman die on a stone column, a single tear running down her cheek. But he had no time to mourn what happened.

Suddenly, he found himself in the palace. Not only that, the oracle was gone. He looked around, wondering where he was. It was also at that time that he realized he was still wearing his Ranger suit. He probably should have deactivated it earlier. Because he wasn’t sure where he was, he began looking around for anything interesting. The palace was unlike anything he had ever seen before. It was neither Greek nor Roman, nor was it Arabian. Just what was it? It certainly wasn’t from the Renaissance. It was something… else.

He soon found his way to a vast garden of flowers. All kinds of flowers grew in this garden. There were so many that he couldn’t count them all. He walked over to the flower garden before he noticed a figure a few feet in front of him wearing a white gown. Two long pig tails of blonde hair streamed down the person’s back. “Um, excuse me,” he said. “But who are you? And where am I?” The person stood up and turned around. The girl looked at him with regal, yet sad eyes. She had two odango on her head, which were connected to the two long pig-tails. Here eyes were blue. And she looked strangely familiar.

“Are you Ash Ketchum? RPM Red Power Ranger?” She asked suddenly. Ash’s eyes widened, partially in confusion.

“How did you know my name?” He asked. “And how did you know I’m a Power Ranger?”

“You are still wearing your Ranger suit,” she replied, gesturing to his suit. He sighed, feeling that was pretty obvious.

“Well, that’s obvious,” he replied. “But how did you know my name? And who are you, anyway?”

“I shall tell you later,” she replied. “All you need to know is that I know of the Sailor Warriors and the new one, Sailor Ocean.”

“You know about Sailor Ocean?” He asked. She walked up to him, making him slightly nervous.

“Come with me,” she said. “We shall discuss the matter.” She walked away, prompting Ash to follow her.

Now usually, when someone refuses to answer questions, it usually gives rise to more; which is just how Ash was feeling right now. Every time he tried to ask the girl more questions, she would either refuse to answer or simply give him the silent treatment. Pretty soon, Ash was feeling pretty agitated. “Hey!” He finally said. “Why won’t you answer me? Hey!”

“Be patient,” she replied. “You will see.” She led him to a room, filled with very little light. It was a massive room, unlike any he had seen before. He could not help but be amazed at the room and he let out an awed sound. When he noticed she was standing at some altar, he hurried over to where she was. When he got to the altar, he noticed five small crystal spheres, all of which contained a symbol. One was blue and contained a raindrop. The one next to it was yellow with a lightning bolt in it. The one next to that was red with a small flame on it. The one next to that was green with a leaf on it. The one next to that was either black or purple and had an upside down crescent moon on it. Ash looked at the girl for a moment and said,

“What are these?”

“These are the gems that contain the powers for the next force of Sailor Warriors,” she replied. “The first one is water; as you already know, that belongs to Sailor Ocean, who has already appeared. The second one is Thunder. The third is Fire. The fourth is Flora. The fifth one is Darkness.”

“Darkness?” He asked. “Are you mad?”

“The five new Sailor Warriors must be assembled,” she said, ignoring him. “In order for the last outpost of civilization to survive, they must be brought together. And I suppose you must also assemble your team of Power Rangers.”

“Obviously,” he replied. “I just don’t know who to give the Engine cells to.”

“That will be your task, I suppose,” she replied. “But I must tell you. The more you fight alone, the more risk that you will fail. The same with Sailor Ocean if she continues to fight alone. You and your team must join forces with hers in order to defend Cerulean. If this does not happen, then the last outpost of civilization may fall.”

“I’ll do my best,” he replied. “But you haven’t answered my question. Who are you?”

“If you really must know,” she said. “I am Princess Serenity. But that is my former identity. You may now know me as Sailor Moon.”

Ash’s eyes widened in shock and his mouth fell open like a cartoon character. “S-S-S-Sailor Moon!?” He stammered. “You’re Sailor Moon?”

“Correct,” she replied.

“But that’s not possible!” He said. “You lost your powers when you put up the barrier!”

“The answer is simple,” she replied. “I gave up my ability to transform in order to retire for now. I still have some powers, which is how I was able to contact you in your dream. I have been watching you, Ash. You’ve changed since you were young. No longer are you immature and loud-mouthed. Now you are a strong, confident leader. I believe you can succeed.” And with that, Princess Serenity disappeared, leaving Ash, still in his Ranger suit alone in the room, still thinking about what in the world just happened.

--

Just then, he heard the buzzing of the alarm clock. He was jolted awake, shocked by the sudden noise and sat up in bed. Then he remembered he was still wearing his Ranger suit. And he wished he hadn’t just slept in that thing. Oh, well. Pika!” Another voice jolted him. This one belonged to Pikachu.

“Hey buddy,” he said. He got up out of bed and walked over to pet the little fur ball. “I hope I didn’t make you worried last night.” The Pokemon replied in its language. Ash chuckled, as he understood what it just said. “Thanks buddy,” he said.

A while later--after he had morphed back to his civilian garb--he sat down to have his breakfast while watching CNN. Even in the aftermath of the apocalypse, they were still operating. They were talking about the usual stuff after a Red Ranger sighting--except they were also talking about Sailor Ocean. He watched the report intently, wondering if they had anything to say about it. Well, they did not. He still had to wonder just where he was going to find new Rangers and just who Sailor Ocean could be.

--

About a mile away, Ash’s old friend, 17-year-old Misty Waterflower got out of bed herself. He hair was down, but only because she had just woken up. The former Cerulean gym leader got out of bed and walked over to her dresser, where her beloved Marill slept. The ball-shaped Pokemon seemed to be alerted to her presence, as it began to wake up. “Good morning,” she said to it sweetly.

Marill!” It replied back. Misty gave the ball-shaped mouse Pokemon a sweet smile before going to the bathroom, no doubt to take a shower. That’s when the Pokemon accidentally knocked her purse off of the dresser.

“Oh, please be careful,” she said to it as she walked over to her purse. The contents had all spilled out, leaving a mess on the floor. The Marill had a despondent look on its face, worried that it had done something wrong. Luckily for it, Misty wasn’t going to be so hard on it. “Don’t worry,” she said. “You just need to be more careful.” She had aged since her days traveling with Ash, no doubt, but her hair was still the same length as back then. She was also less violate… sort of. Make her mad and you’ll regret it. But just like Ash, the end of the world had brought about a change in her character, as well. What kind? Well, you’ll see.

A wallet here, a train ticket there, a few pieces of change, some lipstick, and a pen. That’s the contents of Misty’s purse. But one object was the last to be picked up. It was a blue-colored, stick-like object with a blue-colored ball on top, held by a heart-shaped peg and a button on the top. A gold raindrop was on the little ball. Misty picked this up last. She looked at the little stick, wondering just how this burden came to her.

--

Flashback to a dream

Misty found herself standing in a place where she had never seen before. She stood in front of a white building, which looked like nothing she had seen before. Above her was the night sky and apparently… Earth! “Where am I?” She said as she realized what was going on.

Misty Waterflower,” said a sudden and mysterious voice. Misty looked around frantically, looking for the source of the voice.

“Who’s there?” She asked. “Who are you?”

Please enter the Moon Palace,” the voice came. Moon palace!? She’s on the moon!? But her thoughts were interrupted when she realized she was walking into the palace on her own. And yet it didn’t feel as though she was been forced to enter the palace.

Inside the palace, she marveled at the stone columns and long hallways. It was almost like those pictures she had seen of the palace at Versailles, only with a hint of Greco-Roman influence or something like that. But it was neither French, Greek nor Roman. It was something else entirely. “This way,” the voice called again. Misty found herself turning to the right down a long, dark corridor. A small ghost light appeared in front of her, like the fairy in the Legend of Zelda games. The light beckoned her to follow, which she did, albeit somewhat nervously.

She followed the ghost light to two massive doors. Just then, the ghost light phased through the doors, which surprised her. But that really didn’t matter, now, did it? But what she was worried about was what was on the other side of the door. Was it something she’d regret? Would it reward her beyond her wildest imagination? Well, there was only one way to find out. And that was to open it. So she gathered up her courage and grabbed the handles and opened the door.

It revealed a large, dimly lit room with a brightly lit altar at the other end of the room. It appeared circular, and the light at the altar seemed to be coming from the skylight window. So what was at that altar? Well, the ghost light seemed to be leading her to the altar, so she followed it. Soon, she noticed a human figure, wearing a white dress. That’s all she could tell for now.

She made her way to the altar to notice five crystal spheres--one blue, one yellow, one red, one green, and one black. The blue one had a raindrop on it; the yellow on had a lightning bolt on it; the red one included a flame; the green one included a leaf; an upside-down crescent moon adorned the black one. Misty examined the five, wondering just what they were.

“They are the elemental globes,” a voice startled Misty. She looked to notice the girl wearing the white dress. She had blonde hair, as well as two odango on her head, with two long pigtails attached to the odango. She had a regal, yet sad look in her eyes. “My apologies,” she said. “I didn’t mean to startle you.”

“Are you the one who called me here?” Misty asked.

The girl nodded her head. “Yes, I am,” she said. “I called you here because I have something important to tell you.”

“What is it?” Misty asked.

“As you know, your home Cerulean City is the last known human refuge on Earth. The fate of humanity hangs by a thread,” she said. “A failure in the barrier will mean the end of humanity. But you are to prevent that.”

“How?” said Misty.

“By becoming a Sailor Warrior,” the girl replied.

Misty’s eyes widened with shock at what the girl just said. “A Sailor Warrior?” She asked. The girl nodded. “But, I can’t be a Sailor Warrior! The Sailor Warriors are gone!”

“The planet Warriors cannot transform,” she replied. “The Elemental Warriors can. You are one of them.”

“I am?” She asked. “Which one?”

“I understand you enjoy water Pokemon,” she said. “Perhaps the Water globe would be good for you. Pick the globe up, please.”

“Um, okay,” Misty said nervously. She slowly reached for the globe with the raindrop on it and picked it up. Suddenly, she found herself bathed in a blue light. The next thing she knew, the light was gone and she was still standing there with the girl. The water globe was on the altar again. For some reason, she didn’t feel different. “What just happened?” She asked.

“Look down,” the girl said. Misty did so, and her eyes widened in shock.

She was wearing the uniform of a Sailor Warrior. Her boots, collar, glove rings and skirt were blue. The bow on her chest and skirt were cerulean. Her boots were long, up to her knees. “Wow!” She said, examining herself. “This is amazing! I love it!”

“I’m glad you do,” said the girl. “When you wake up, you should have the transformation stick on your nightstand.”

“So this is a dream?” Misty asked. “But it seems so real.”

“In order to protect the city, you need to find four more Sailor Warriors. And you will have to join forces with the Red Power Ranger.”

“The Red Ranger?” She asked. “Why him?”

“Because he too, is trying to protect the city,” the girl replied. “But he needs to find his Rangers. And that is his quest and his only. Yours is to find the remaining Sailor Warriors, Sailor Ocean.”

“Um, okay,” said Misty. But she just had one more question. “Um, can I ask you something?” She asked. The girl nodded. “Just who are you? How do you know about the Sailor Warriors?”

“I know about the Sailor Warriors because I am one,” she replied. Misty’s eyes widened in shock at this revelation. “I am Princess Serenity, or Sailor Moon, as I will be called in your time.”

“Sailor Moon!?” Misty shouted in shock. “But why? I thought you lost your powers after you put up the barrier! And how did you lose your powers, anyhow I thought the Silver Crystal was more powerful than that.

“I retired, that's why,” Serenity replied. “After I was defeated, I could not bear to show my face as Sailor Moon again. In hindsight, that was a foolish thought. I should have done something more to help. But that's not the point. My time is over. Yours is just beginning. Please, Sailor Ocean, grant my request and protect this city and the last remnants of humanity. The fate of our kind depends on you and the Power Rangers.”

Misty nodded, knowing this was her destiny. And she would embrace it. No matter how bad it seemed. At that time, she got down on her knees and kneeled before Serenity. “I will,” she said. “I will do my best as a Sailor Warrior to protect humanity as best I can as Sailor Ocean. I will do my duty until my duty release me or death,” she gulped, as that part of the Sailor oath made her nervous--which is understandable, really. “…Or death take me.”

“Rise, Sailor Ocean,” Serenity said after Misty finished her oath. Misty did so. “Good luck. The fate of the world depends on you. The last human refuge; the Land of the Free.” The scene went black and Misty found herself in bed once again.

End flashback

--

That morning, Misty did indeed find the transformation stick. She was indeed to become Sailor Ocean. A week later, she made her first appearance as Sailor Ocean—when she met the Red Ranger.

Marill!” Marill’s sudden sound Misty out of her reverie. She remembered that she was still in her bedroom, just after waking up from the night when she first revealed herself as Sailor Ocean. No doubt the Red Ranger was peeved at her appearance.

“Sorry Marill,” she said. “I just got distracted.” She finished cleaning up after herself and grabbed the Marill, intending to go downstairs. “Let’s go see if anyone’s talking about me,” she said. “I hope I’m getting good coverage!” The Pokemon squeaked in response and the girl and Pokemon went downstairs to eat breakfast. But there was a problem. Much like the Red Ranger, she needed to find Sailor Warriors. While she wasn’t worried about him, finding the Sailor Warriors was her priority. But just where were she and the Red Ranger going to find them?

Little did Ash and Misty know, the answer was on its way—from the Wastes.

If you guys need any info on some of the weapons here, there are two great websites you can get info on Power Rangers from.

Power Rangers Central—A dedicated fan site, which includes info an all 17 Power Rangers seasons, as well as characters, weapons, and Zords. Also included is Super Sentai Time Capsule, which goes over Power Rangers’ Japanese source material. It can be accessed at: rangercentral(dot)com

Power Rangers Universe—A wiki site, this one also has detailed info on Power Rangers seasons, characters and weapons. It can be reached at: powerrangers(dot)wikia(dot)com

Also, the Soldier page, which is where I got some of the characters, and the inspiration, is also a good site. I suggest you check it out. The problem is, though, is that it's in French. But that's where your translate feature on Google comes in.
