Chapter 5: To rescue a Raichu

Inferno shot through the sky at a blistering pace.  War was struggling to hold 
in to her ride and the antidote in her claw.

Inferno: [Please let us get there in time.]

When they got to Rai's cave Inferno all but dropped War and ran into it.  She 
barely fit her four foot five, two hundred and eight-pound frame through the 
opening.  War followed her as they got to Rai's room.

War: Chu are you ready to go?
Chu: Yea.
War: Good we'll ride there on Inferno just tell her the way.

Chu looked at Inferno and then back at War, she was terrified Inferno could 
smell it.

War: Don't worry she is not going to eat you I promise.
Inferno: Look we don't have time for this! You've got to tell us where to go, so 
come on your brother's life is in jeopardy!  If it were you he'd run through a 
herd of Toros just to help you!
Chu: Your right lets go.

When they got outside War and Chu got on Inferno's back and they took off.  Chu 
showed the way to the mountain where they found the cave.  They ran to the 
entrance but were stopped by two raichu guarding it.  One look at Inferno and 
they imedently took to chu defense stances, all fours cheeks sparking with 
electricity.  

Chu: Calm down they are here to heal Rai.
Guard 1: But how, your father has been praying all night and nothing has 
happened.
Chu: They have brought medicine from the other side of the island.
Guard 2: Your father will not like this.
Chu: Right now it doesn't matter, now step aside and let us through.

The guards stepped aside and let Chu, War, and Inferno in.  Inside War noticed 
that the walls of the cave glowed. 

Inferno: Evolution stones.
Chu: Yes, we all come here at the age of readiness.  We only evolve when it is 
time to find a mate.

Chu led them to the inner temple.  Inside they saw all the important chus, Mary, 
and Ka.  In front of every one laid Rai on a stone bed.  Again as soon as 
Inferno was seen she was greeted by the smell of fear.

Chu: Father!  Rai's friends are here to help him!
Ka: Chu, how dare you?  Why did you lead them here to our sacred temple?! Cha is 
the only one that can save Rai have you forgotten your ways?!
Inferno: No! We have an antidote, it will...
Ka: Silence!  Leave us you are not welcome here!
War: Will you listen, we can...

But before she could finish BigChu stepped in front of them.

BigChu: Leave us, Cha will decide weather Rai lives or not.
Chu: Mom! Please!
Mary: Ka maybe we could...
Ka: No! Cha will decide!
Inferno: I can't believe this!  Your son is going to die if we don't help him.  
Are you going to just stand there and let that happen?!
Ka: If it is Cha's will then so be it.

Inferno got angry, knocking out BigChu with one punch she bolted over to the 
stone where Rai laid.  She carefully scooped him up and held his life less body 
in her arms. All chaos broke as chus all over the cave began powering up.

Chu: We've got to get out of here!

Inferno was already running towards the cave entrance.  It seemed like forever 
but they finally saw the moonlight.

Ka: Stop them!

The guards turned to fight but were knocked cold when Inferno literally ran over 
them.  War and Chu climbed on Inferno's back and they took off.  Behind them 
bolts of lightning came up fast, but Inferno skillfully dodged every one of 
them.  When they were out of range War bent down and injected the antidote into 
Rai.  With Rai safely tucked in her arms Inferno flew to the city.
  
Days past as Inferno kept a constant visual over Rai.  She insisted that he be 
put in her room, no one challenged her. Chu left them saying she couldn't stay 
this world was too unfamiliar.  But she knew she couldn't go back to the clan 
she would be killed.  She kissed Rai on the head and left for the unknown.  Rai 
finally woke the next week.  As soon as he was conscious Inferno left her watch 
and went to sleep on the living room couch.  She had been watching him for three 
days she needed the rest.  Rai got out of bed and stumbled into the living room.  
War ran over to him and helped the raichu to a chair.

Rai: Oh my head.
War: Glad to have you back.
Rai: Where's Inferno?
War: Over there on the couch asleep.  She has been watching over you for a long 
time. She didn't let any one besides Chu touch you, I'll explain later why Chu 
was here.  Knight is at the store getting some items, just incase you need them.
Rai: What is today?

War hesitated but told him.  Rai freaked and tried to get up, but had to sit 
back down when he got dizzy.

War: Woah! You can't fight in your condition.  Your body still needs time to 
recuperate.
Rai: War, this is too important I've got to fight.
War: I understand but...
Rai: Then you know why I have to go back.

War only looked down, he was right he had to go and find a mate.  But she knew 
he would only loose, he was too weak to fight.

War: Give it one more day.  Then I promise we will get you back home.
Rai: Alright.

Rai went back into Inferno's room and crashed on the bed.  War looked over at 
the sleeping char and smiled.

War: You're why he is alive.  I can feel your love for him, but you'll have to 
wait a little longer.  You deserve a mate who would love and cherish you.  Rai 
and you would be perfect.  Sleep well Inferno your mate shall come to you soon.

War switched off the TV and fell asleep in the recliner.  She hoped that the 
gods would grant their love.
