Pokemon: BigRai’s Story by BigRai

Chapter 4: I wish

‘abc’:Pokemon speech

Rai sat on the living room couch trying to figure out his life. Things had changed so much in so little time that even after four years he hadn’t had time to digest it all. He heard a car pull up and the front door open. He didn’t bother to look back he didn’t want to.

Kate, after helping Jeramy to his room, walked in to the living room. She saw the back of Rai’s head but didn’t see Jennifer with him.

"So how was your day?" She said in a sneaky voice.

Rai only sighed and hung his head,

"How could you?" he said with a touch of anger.

"So nothing happened?" she asked.

"NO! I have a mate!" he said this time turning so she could so his anger.

"Rai, I’m sorry, but you can’t go on like this Inferno is gone."

Rai turned back around. How could she say that? She didn’t understand just how mush he loved Inferno. She wasn’t there when Inferno made sacrifices for him, she wasn’t there when they hunted together, and she wasn’t there when they made love. How could she understand, she didn’t have a human male in her life. There was a long silence Kate just looked at him in awe. From all her studies pokemon weren’t supposed to have these feelings, but this one was unique. She wondered if his partner held on to him as he did her. She walked over and sat down beside him rubbing his head with her hands. Rai didn’t protest but he still felt angry.

"You really love her don’t you?" she asked in a voice that pushed some of the anger away, humans had a knack for doing that.

"With all my heart." He said matching her soft voice as best he could.

Kate felt bad not only for him but for Jennifer, this was all her fault.

"Rai I know how you feel but Jennifer is really a good monster, why don’t you just…"

"No," Rai cut her off still trying to stay as calm as possible even though he wanted to shock her to kingdom come, "I’ll go as long as it takes, I can only love Inferno."

Kate smiled at him he was one of a kind.

"I thank you," Rai finally said, "but I could never mount any one else."

Kate stroked his head a few more times marveling as how "human" this pokemon was.

"I do understand, it may seem like I don’t but believe me I do. You’re a true gem you know that?"

Rai smiled at her and went back to his thoughts. Kate flipped on the TV just incase he wanted to watch something and went up stairs. Kate looked in Rai’s room where she knew she would find Jennifer. She saw the raichu sitting on the end of Rai’s bed.

"How are you holding up?" Kate asked.

"Good I guess," she finally said after a minuet, "he doesn’t want me?"

Kate sighed and looked at the wall

"No he’s staying true to his mate. I’m sorry I put you two through this."

"Its okay," Jennifer said, "maybe one day I will convince him."

Kate looked back at the mouse and smiled, she was a trooper

"Well, keep your hopes up."

She patted Jennifer on the back and walked out and in to her room.

All she wanted was to make Rai happy, now he probably would never forgive her. She sighed and laid down on her bed, tomorrow would be a difficult day and she would need all her strength for it.

It took a little while, but Rai and Jennifer became very good friends. It seemed that they had put their first encounter be hind them and moved on. They started to do every thing together. From chores to the mock battles they had with the other monsters on the ranch. Amazingly the female raichu grew on Rai, nothing could tear them apart. Sure they had their arguments from time to time but never split. For Rai she was first like Lighting all over again. A best friend, a female he could be around and not want to mate with her, but slowly she became like Flower, the female who he desired but knew he couldn’t touch. For Jennifer their friendship was one step closer to mateing with him. Oh, how she longed for the day when he would forget Inferno and take her. However she found herself no closer to him than when they first met. She wondered if he had any feelings for her at all. Rai did but kept them inside, he never wanted to lose himself.

It was a sunny after noon when Jennifer walked into the kitchen. Her ears were drooped and she let her long tail drag behind her. She lifted her self to a chair and put her chin on the kitchen table sighing loudly to get some attention. Sitting across from her Kate drank some coffee. She smiled at the raichu hearing her sigh, it was counseling time.

"Is every thing alright?" she asked obviously knowing the answer was no.

"He doesn’t even respond to me. Every thing I do isn’t working. Touching, mating sounds, rubbing, I’ve tried all that and more! What do I have to do?! Everyday I give him hints, but I almost always get nothing from him."

Kate put down her coffee

"Almost?" she asked in the most inquisitive and interested voice she could.

Jennifer looked at her with a small smile

"We were rolling around, just playing like kits. Well, we rolled into a tree and he was…on top…"

Kate chucked and sipped some more coffee.

"…I thought this was it so…"

Jennifer looked down at the table a little embarrassed.

"…I started to…"

Kate smiled and started to make low half whining half "rais" from her throat. Jennifer’s head shot up.

"How did you do that?!"

Kate laughed and put down her coffee again.

"We humans can do a lot more than you monsters give us credit for."

Jennifer smiled and continued.

"For a minuet I thought I had done it. His eyes had a lot of lust in them, I could tell he really wanted to. So I turned over on my stomach, but he didn’t do any thing. After a minuet I was a little frustrated and I yelled at him. He only got up and walked away. I knew I shouldn’t have done it but I wanted him. I haven’t seen him sense."

Kate finished her coffee and got up. She walked over and patted Jennifer on the back.

"It’s gong to take some more time for him to realize that another female is in his life now. Just be patent and take things a little slower"

"How slow can I go! If we were wild I know he wouldn’t hesitate to mate with me."

"But you aren’t, by living around humans he has picked up the idea of true love, probably an emotion he could never get in the wild."

Jennifer looked up at Kate with the saddest looking eyes.

"So he’ll never love me?"

"I think he dose," Kate said in a reassuring voice, "but the reality is he loved Inferno first.

"Yea," Jennifer said sadly, "but I wish he was mine."

"I know maybe…"

But Kate was cut short when Rai walked into the kitchen. He looked as bad as Jennifer did when she first came in. Rai looked up and saw Jennifer at the table and he panicked. From what he did to her today she probably didn’t want to even look at him.

"I’m sorry, I’ll just go." He said starting to turn around.

Kate waited till he was almost out of the kitchen,

"RAI!" she said in a very commanding voice, "Sit down now!"

Rai quickly turned back around and sat in the seat across from Jennifer. It still amazed him. It seemed that in almost every species, including his own, that even though males were dominate even the biggest one cowered under a female’s voice.

"Now," Kate finally said in a calm voice, "we have much to discuss."
