Pokemon: BigRai's Story by BigRai

Book 2 Prologue

Rai sat on the back porch of his LA home and reminisced of old times.
OutKast, his clan, Flower, Shock, none of this even compared to the memories of his true love.

Pikachu: Daddy!
Rai: Hay Thomas, how was school?
Thomas: Great!
Rai: Good! Where is your mother?
Thomas: Inside.  Can I go to Peter's house?
Rai: Okay, but don't get into any trouble and be back in time for dinner.
Thomas: I will!

The little pikachu hugged his dad and ran down the street.  Rai smiled and walked back inside the house.  
He found his mate in the kitchen putting away groceries.  He snuck up behind her and sniffed her 
hindquarter takeing in her sent.  She felt his nose and turned around a little startled.  She smiled and gave 
Rai a small kiss.  They looked into each other eyes; raw emotions filled their heads.

Inferno: Rai no! We can't the PKMNTV truck will be here any second.
Rai: Just real quick then?
Inferno: No, what if they catch us?
Rai: Then we'll give them a really good show.

Rai pulled Inferno close to him and kissed her.  

Inferno: No! Stop, we'll mate after they leave.
Rai: Okay, so what am I cooking tonight?
Inferno:  Can you do something with diglets?
Rai: Can I? I am chef Rai...
Inferno: I know chef Rai.  Voted top LA chef three years in a row for his exquisite pokemon recipes.  You 
even have your own cooking show on Food Network.
Rai: But most of all, I got you.

They nuzzled as Rai put his arms around her.  Inferno quickly swatted them off.

Inferno: I said no.
Rai: It was worth a try.
Inferno: No it wasn't.  Any way I just came from the doctors with some good news.

Inferno pointed to her stomach, Rai's eyes opened wide when he realized...

Rai: Noooo!
Inferno: Oh it's not that bad.
Rai: How?! When?!
Inferno: Oh I think you know how.  The doctor says that we conceived a few days ago.  Remember Frilles 
Hamburgers, after closing, in the parking lot.
Rai: Oh yea! We can never go back there.  I can still remember the headlines on the paper Sunday: Chef 
and wife get cookn' in restaurant.
Inferno: I should be laying soon.
Rai: Great.
Inferno: Also parents night is Friday at Thomas' school.
Rai: That's right, I can't wait to meet his teachers and the other parents.
Inferno: Rai, I don't know.  How will they react toward us?  All the other parents are of the same spices, 
all their children have regular parents.
Rai: We are regular parents.
Inferno: No we're not.  Thomas is a crossbreed, I just think it would be better if he were in a place where 
there are more like him.
Rai: Come on Inferno.  We've had this conversation a million times.  He is in the best school, has good 
friends both monster and human, and he makes good grades.  Why move back to a place where we 
wouldn't know is some human decided to capture him and take him away from us.  If some predator could 
just come along and eat him.  Here it is illegal to capture pokemon, and the food can be bought at a 
market.  I don't have to fear for my life anymore, why make him fear for his? So we are a special family, 
that wouldn't make them hate us.
Inferno: That's why they hated you, or have you forgotten.  You were special, you had a gift and they went 
as far as trying to kill you to stop that.  We've become to civilized I think it would be best if we moved 
back to Orange.  There Thomas could learn what it means to be a monster; we live more like humans.
Rai: Look can we finish this later the truck is pulling up.

Rai quickly walked away happy he got out of that conversation.  However, Inferno knew him too well, she 
called to him as he got to the front door.

Inferno: Rai!
Rai: Yea?
Inferno: Don't even think about turning over tonight.

Rai cursed under his breath and opened the door to the TV crew.  It took about an hour, but when every 
thing was set up Rai and Inferno were ushered in the living room.  There the sat on the couch and waited 
for the meowth to  start the interview.  Inferno sighed, leaned over, and whispered in Rai's ear.

Inferno: Meet me in the back yard right after the interview is over.

Rai smiled and kissed her on the cheek.  He loved when she changed her mind, especially when it came to 
him getting some.  After a few instructions from the producer the interview started.

Reporter: Hello, I'm Maxwell Meowth and I have the pleasure of interviewing one of America's hottest 
chefs Rai Raichu and his mate Inferno Charizard-Raichu.  Hello, and thank you for letting us into your 
lives for this hour.
Rai: Our pleasure.
Max: Let's get down to business.  Why LA?  Of all the cities in the country why did you pick this one?
Inferno: Well, it wasn't really our choice at first.  We were forced here to find each other.
Max: Really, tell us about it.
Rai: Well, a few years after Inferno and I became mates we decided to head west for the next tour.  As you 
know I was a singer at the time known all around the eastern world, but no one really know me in the 
U.S.  Anyway, we were going to start in Maryland and work our way west. Inferno, however, got us lost 
and we didn't know where we were. And we had no idea that the states were about to make it legal to 
capture monsters.  That's when we ran into trouble...
