THX : P Progression in Confession AAMRN (with contestshipping) Ash:14 Misty/Sharon:16 Brock:20 May:13 Max:10 Narrator: We continue our story as our heroes are on their way to Ash's next battle on his journey to become The Pokemon Master. On the way, they come upon an old mansion that looks like it hasn't been lived in in centuries. Misty has also joined the group once again, along with May, Max, and Brock. What happens when someone suggests to explore the mansion? "Come on, let's go! It looks like fun!" exclaimed an excited Ash. "I don't know, Ash. That house looks like it's crawling with ghost pokemon." Misty replied. "Oh, come on, Misty. You still haven't gotten over ghost pokemon?" Ash teased. Misty, giving Ash a death stare, quickly walked to the door of the building. Getting chills, she turned to face everyone."Well, let's go." ******** "You sure about this, Misty?" Brock whispered to her on the way in. "Of course, I need to prove to Ash that I'm not a wimp like he thinks I am." "Whatever you say." Brock replied. Ash, unoticeabley, walked up next to Misty. Misty, lost in her thoughts, didn't notice. In fact, she was too bust THINKING about him. *Flashback* "Misty, come on!" her sister, Sharon, whined. "No means no." Misty replied. "I'm staying here." At this Sharon grabbed her sister by the shoulders and looked her straight in the eyes. "Misty, you love him." Misty froze. She already knew that. She was in love with him since the day she pulled him out of the water, saving him from drowning. She loved him, but she could never get the nerve to tell him. Sure, she had plenty of chances to, but she never did because she was afraid her heart would be broken. She couldn't tell him. Not on her own. . . *End Flashback* "Misty?" Misty jumped. "Ash! Don't do that!" "Well, I wasn't sure if you were alright or not. You looked pretty worried, whatever you were thinking about." "Oh." Misty looked down, blushing. She forgot all about her expressions, especially when thinking about Ash. Ash gave Misty a concerned look. He hoped she was alright. ~Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm~ "What was that?!" May cried. "That was the sound of empty stomachs!" Brock replied. "Let's eat!" He quickly dropped his bag to his feet and pulled out a few cooking utensiles. "Wow, Brock. You always come prepared." Max said. *2 Minutes Later* "Alright everybody! Dig in!" Ash was the first to grab something out of the pot, as usual. "Some things just never change." Misty whispered under her breath. "This is delicious, Brock." Ash managed to say with a mouth full of food. Everybody finished eating and went off towards the heart of the mansion. It wasn't long before they came upon a split in the pathway. "Uh oh." Max said, getting worried. "What are we gonna do now?" He turned to the group, waiting for an answer. "We'll split up." Ash suggested. "Misty and I will go this way (he pointed left) and you three go that way (he pointed right)." "But A-" May started to say, but Brock grabbed her arm, and ran down the hallway. Max followed. "Well, let's get going." He grabbed Misty's hand and trotted down the opposite hallway. "Ash!" Misty cried. `What is he doing? Why didn't we just all go together down one hallway? We've never done this before.` Then Ash, all of a sudden, turned around to face Misty. He carefully placed her hands in his. Misty's mind went completely blank. "Misty. . ." He quietly said. He looked up from the ground, looking straight into her eyes. ". . .I did that for a reason." Misty just stood there, bug-eyed. "I need to tell you something I've been wanting to tell you since you left that day to go take care of the gym for your sisters." He cautiously continued. "Misty. . . .I . . .I . . ." Ash looked up. He couldn't do this. "Oh man, I thought this would be easier without May around." Ash whispered to himself. Misty still stood there confused. Ash looked up, confidence shown on his face. "Misty! I-" All of a sudden, a part of the ceiling (a big one) dropped from above, heading towards Misty. Ash, thinking fast, leaped from where he was standing and grabbed Misty. They fell towards the wall. Misty hit her head on it and fainted. Ash quickly got up and went over to her. "Misty. . . ." Ash's voice echoed down the hall. *Misty's Dream* "Hey, Misty!" Misty turned around to see Ash running towards her, waving a hand in the air. Their surroundings were outside, next to a big oak tree. "Ash!" Misty called back. He walked up to her, bending over, trying to catch his breath. "Misty, I need to tell you something." Misty faced him, smiling. "Misty . . . . . .I . . . I'm going out with May." Misty froze. "I wanted to tell you right after it happened, because I knew you'd understand. I really didn't want to say it around May, or else she would have freaked out. She seemed like she wanted to keep it a secret . . ." He kept talking about how May didn't want people to know, but Misty wasn't listening. She couldn't help but think how stupid she was of thinking that Ash could ever love her. She blinked then forced a weary smile. "Good for you, Ash." She said weakly. "Umm, I gotta go. I promised Brock I'd have lunch with him." At that, she ran off, letting the tears out she had been holding for so long . . . *The Real World* Ash held Misty, in his arms, walking the opposite direction of where they were supposed to be headed. He was now headed for the entrance of the mansion, hoping Misty would be ok . . . *Brock, May, and Max* "Brock!" May shouted. The three of them had been walking in silence the whole time they had split apart from Ash and Misty. "Mmm hmm?" Brock managed to make out. "Why did you do that?" May asked. Brock kept walking silently. "Brock!" May shouted once more. Brock suddenly stopped and swiftly turned around. "May!" Brock snapped. May stopped in front of him, looking surprised. "May, when will you understand?" Brock yelled out. "I do understand that you love Ash, but why don't you see that your love for Ash is the size of an ant compared to the love that Ash and Misty have for one another! Why don't you stop trying to interfere?" May stared at him. She looked like she was about to burst out into tears, but what she was really thinking was . . . "Ha ha ha ha ha ha!" She burst out laughing. "What," She said between giggles, "are you talking about?" Brock stood there, not really in the mood to laugh. "Where did you hear that?" She said, once again, trying to reduce her giggles. Brock lifted up a finger. May followed it to where it pointed to Max. Max froze. "Brock! You said you wouldn't tell!" Max cried out. May's smile quickly faded off her face. "Where did YOU hear it, Max?" May asked, her eye twitching. "You weren't looking through my diary again, were you?" Max ran over to Brock, hiding behind him. "So it's true?" Brock pointed out. "What? No! I don't like Ash!" May cried. "Then who were you talking about in your diary?" Max questioned. "Oh, um, nobody in particular." May replied sheepishly. "Is it, by any chance, Drew?" Brock guessed. May's cheeks became bright red. "Why can't you guys just leave me alone?" She stormed off ahead of them. They followed right behind her, grins on their faces. *Ash and Misty* "Ash . . ." Misty whispered softly, as a tear rolled down her cheek. She was still unconcieous from the fall she had taken. Ash looked down at her, surprised that she had spoken. He was frightened too. He didn't want her to wake up, or else he would be really embarrassed, but he did want her to wake up, so he could see that she was alright. It wasn't long before they reached the fork they had split up at. Ash started to fast walk as soon as he reached it. He had to get Misty out of there. He soon came to the point where he started to pant. He layed Misty down beside the wall, and took a water bottle out of his backpack. "Ash?" Misty said sleepily. Ash choked on his water mid-gulp. "Misty!" He gave her a quick hug. "Are you alright?" "What happened?" "Well, a piece of ceiling almost fell on you, but I pushed you out of the way. Then you hit your head and fainted." "How long has it been?" "Aboooout 15 minutes." Ash said, unsure. "I started to carry you to the entrance of the-" "Carry me?!" Misty yelled. "Well I couldn't just leave you there!" Ash yelled back. Misty blushed. She thought she was pretty heavy . . . Ash noticed her blushing. "Don't worry, you weren't that heavy." He said with a smile. Misty turned, ready to slap him, but stopped to look at his face. His smile proved that he wasn't joking. Misty turned away, blushing even more. She tried to get up, but fell back down almost immediately. Her ankle was still injured from her fall. "Here, I'll carry you." Ash offered. Misty didn't say anything. Ash decided this on his own, so she let him. "I should signal Brock and the others to come out, since we're half way there." Ash said. He took out his pokedex and a pressed a button. He had programmed it to signal May's pokedex and Max's pokenav. "They'll be here soon." Misty stared at him. She wondered how Ash could keep a straight face with her on his back. She wondered why he hadn't just left her there, to go get the others. She wondered if her dream was really going to happen. She sure hoped not. "Guys!" A familiar voice yelled. They both looked back. "Brock!" Ash called, excited to see him. Brock caught up to them, as well as May and Max. "What was the signal for?" "Misty got hurt, so we had to come out." "Is that why you're carrying her?" "Ya, she hurt her ankle." "I know where there's a pokemon center around here." Max pointed out, checking his pokenav. "Great! Let's stay there tonight." Ash suggested. Everybody agreed. *Pokemon Center* "Your ankle should be fine by tomorrow, as long as you don't walk on it too much." Nurse Joy said with her perky voice. "Thanks! I'll keep that in mi-" Misty started to say, but Brock stepped in front of her. "I'm sure she'll be fine, now me on the other hand I'm not so sure about. My heart is beating very fast and I think you're the one causing it." He said in a sweet voice. Max grabbed his ear and pulled him away. "I'll help you with that." He said in a pretending- to-be-happy voice. He walked out of the room, still pulling Brock by the ear. "Come on, May. I need your help with him." Max called to his sister. May walked out of the room after them. Nurse Joy left from the counter into the back room. Ash and Misty just stood there alone. "Oh yeah! I need to heal Torkoal." Ash took a pokeball from his belt and placed it on the counter. "I'll wait 'till she gets back." He said with a worried look. The reason he had a worried look was because he still couldn't figure out how to tell Misty the truth. He tried before, but there were too many distractions. Misty looked over at Ash. She noticed the look on his face and also got worried. "Ash." She said in a hushed voice. "Hmm?" Ash turned to Misty, but before he could say anything, Misty put her hand on top of his, leaned in, and kissed him. Ash froze. Misty kept her eyes shut as she kissed him. She couldn't bare to see the look on his face. She wanted to keep it the way it was, right then and there. She finally broke the kiss, with her eyes still shut. She wanted to cherish the moment. She didn't want Ash to say he was dating May. She didn't even want to think about her. Ash stood there, dumbstruck. He didn't even know what had just happened. He stared at Misty like she was from a different planet. `D-did she just-?` Misty opened her eyes slowly. Her hand was still on top of his. She stared at him with tears in her eyes. She couldn't stand the look on his face. "Ash! Misty! Come quick!" Brock came running in. They both turned and gave him a surprised look, like they hadn't seen another person in ages. They ran to Brock, asking what the problem was, both having thier minds on something completely different. "It's Team Rocket! They're taking all the pokemon out of the Pokemon Center!" They ran out and found a huge machine with a painted red "R" on the front. They were sucking out pokeballs from the back door. "Sceptile! Leaf blade!" Ash commanded as he threw a pokeball up in the air. Sceptile cut the tubes that were taking the pokeballs. "Now, Bullet-" Ash started to say, but stopped as Misty threw HER pokeball. "Pikachu! Thunderbolt!" Misty instucted her new pokemon. Ash looked at the Pikachu. It had a pink bow on the side of its head, near its ear, and instead of brown stripes, they were pink (I know, a little stange, but remember that episode with the pink Rhyhorn?). Ash watched as Jessie, James, and Meowth flew off. "Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!"All three managed to say before they disappeared out of sight. "Great job, Misty." Brock said with a smile. "When did you get a Pikachu?" "I picked it up on the way here. It was following me around when I was training in the forest. I asked it if it wanted to come with me." She looked down at it and smiled. "And here we are." She looked around, confused. "Where is Pikachu, by the way?" Ash just stood there, still thinking about earlier in the center. Brock stepped in. "He's with Professer Oak. Ash didn't want to leave him, but he had to for an operation." "Operation?" Misty asked, concerned. "Yeah, he had a little. . .accident." Brock told her. " He over used his power in the rain. The rain sort of obsorbed it all. It was pretty bad." He looked down at his feet. "Oh. . .oh my god. Is he ok?" "Yeah, he's fine." Ash suddenly spoke up. "He'll be better soon." Misty looked over at him. She was really concerned. "Ash." She whispered. "Come on, everybody! Let's get inside!" Max called, standing in front of the door. *Inside* "Thank you so much!" Nurse Joy said. "I couldn't have done it without you. Just for that, you can stay here without any charge!" "Anything for you, my darling." Brock said, grabbing her hand. Max grabbed his ear. "Come on, let's go." Max pushed. "There are two rooms left. One with three beds, and the other with two." "May, Max. How about you two share a room with me." Brock winked. "Sure." They said with grins. "Let's go and get settled." Everybody went to their rooms they were sharing. Ash got to his door and suddenly realized who he was sharing the room with. "Misty." He whispered to himself. "Are you gonna go in?" Misty asked from behind him, for he was just standing there, the key half way in the door knob. He went in the rest of the way and dropped his bag next to his bed. Misty went in behind him. "Ash. . .I-I want to say goodbye." He turned around shocked. "What are you talking about?" "I'm going to Cerulean City tomorrow." "Why?" He asked quickly. He didn't want her to leave. He wanted to tell her his feelings because now he was sure that Misty felt the same way, but why was she leaving? "Because. . . I. . . I don't want to. . . to get hurt!" Misty blurted out. Ash looked at her, confused. "What do you mean?" Misty looked like she was about to cry. "I-I had this dream when we were stuck in the mansion. In the dream, you were telling me that you were-you were going out with May!" Ash blinked. He remembered, while she was sleeping in his arms, she spoke his name, then crying. "Except it wasn't a dream!" She cried. "It was a nightmare!" Ash still stood there. He couldn't speak. Not because he was surprised, but because she actually cared for him the way he cared for her. He tried to speak again, but nothing came out. She waited. A silent tear rolled down her cheek. "Misty. . ." Ash managed to say. "That was just a dream, and it's not true." Misty stood there, unsure of what to say. Ash took a step towards her. "What I really wanted to say all this time was. . ." He took another step. He was now looking down at her. She stood there with a tear stained face. ". . .that I love you, Misty." He leaned down and kissed her on the lips. It was the best feeling that Misty had ever felt in her whole life. She wanted to melt into his arms and stay there forever. They stood there for a minute, then Ash finally broke it. He looked down at Misty. "O-only if you love me too." He said softly. "Ash. . .I do. I love you too." Misty was satisfied. She had wanted to say that to him for four years now. She looked up at him and said, "Just promise me one thing." He looked at her. "Never let me go." She flew her arms around him and burried her face in his chest. He smiled. "I promise." Send reviews!!! Tell me how good or bad it is!!!
