A Brief Moment in Time

Part 19

I wake to the first few beams of morning light, pouring through the holes in the ceiling of the cavern. It had been a long night of questions and, even fewer in number, answers. I wanted to know what I was supposed to do to rid of Team Rocket forever, what the plan was. But even Celebi didn’t know. All she knew is that I was going to meet with the Legendary Pokemon, the Guardians of the World, and that we were going to save it and ultimately destroy Team Rocket.

But... how?

I sit up, stretch my arms, and yawn deeply, then I suddenly lurch with pain. My arms wrap around my middle as the pain continues. It has been more than a day since I had last eaten. I am surprised that I had just noticed.

I look around at Ash, who was still sleeping in the same spot he had fallen asleep in last night, and at Celebi, who was curled up in a ball at my side, her wings slightly fluttering every now and then. I smile at my new friend.

I gather up the still sleeping fairy Pokemon in my arms and walk to Ash to wake him. I free a hand and shake him gently.

“Ash.” His head just rolls a little, he mumbles something about a Raichu, and keeps sleeping. I shake him again. “Ash, wake up. We need to leave soon.”

He rolls over to his side, deliberately ignoring me. I know how much he loves to sleep but we need to get going. I smile evilly (sorry, as I said earlier, its habit), I have a plan.

Although I haven’t practiced very much with my powers, I still want to try. Besides, Ash would be a great test subject. I set Celebi far enough that I knew she would get hurt, then returned back to Ash’s side.

I put my fingertips on his clothes (I don’t want to burn his skin) and start to concentrate.

I think of the movement of electricity, how it flows, how it jumps from one thing to another, how a fierce storm can gather and release its mighty power. I soon begin to feel it starting to flow to my fingertips, where I could decide when to release it into the unexpecting Ash.

“Thunnn... derrrrr... SHOCKKK!” I yell and I release the volt of electricity into Ash.

“WAHAAHAAHAAHAAH!” Every part of Ash stood on end from the volt, and then flopped back down as I cut of the circuit, his clothes, singed.

I drop to the floor, laughing. I was able to say a sentence through my laughter. “I thought you were used to it!” Then I laughed some more at the boy.

I steamed for a long moment then frowned in sadness. “It just reminds me of Pikachu.”

My laughter dies down as I grow serious. “You really miss him, don’t you?”

He nods, solemnly. “Uh huh.”

*You’ll be able to see him again, unfortunately.* Celebi softly floats up to eye level with Ash. I must have waken her up.

I frown. “What do you mean by that?”

*The next time Ash sees Pikachu, he will be in a cage. I’m sorry to tell you this but... I must... Pikachu, Misty, Brock, and Rose’s Pikachu have been... captured... by Team Rocket.*

I gasp and cover my mouth with my hands.

“When?” asks Ash, solemnly.

*Yesterday. When you went into Goldenrod City. They had Grunts in the forest ready to ambush them.*

Rage fills me. How could I have been so stupid! But despite my anger, my stomach growls, loudly. I give a small smile as Celebi looks at me with amusement.

“Sorry.” I say meekly.

*Do not blame yourself young one on your hunger. It is I that should be sorry. But let me correct that. Both of you, grab my hands.*

I give her a questioning look, as does Ash, but do not ask why. We obey and take her hands. She closes her eyes in concentration. In moments we start levitating off the ground as our surroundings glow a brilliant white light. What’s going on?!

Then we start to float back to the earth as the colors start to return to our eyes. We land and fall to the ground (except Celebi).

“I definitely don’t want to do that again.” mumbles Ash, who is acting slightly queasy.

I roughly stand to my feet and look around. I gasp in wonder.

We’re in a garden! More like paradise, to be more precise.

We were surrounded with palm trees of all sizes, and trees with a ripe harvest of fruit, ready for the picking. Through the middle of the bowl shaped garden, with dark, dirt walls rising high into the sky, is a river flowing from a beautiful waterfall, with a rainbow hanging right above it, as if placed there by someone. Even the dirt was a perfect shade of brown, and it didn’t kick up to lick your shoes when you walked on it.

But something was missing. The only noise here was the sound of the waterfall. No Pokemon clattering, anywhere.

I grimace, it was a reminder at how my adventure started. With no Pokemon noise.

I hadn’t noticed when Ash stood at my side, also in awe of the sight we took in.

*Rose? Ash?*

I turn to Celebi, and gasp again. She was resting on a marble table, full of a wide color and tastes of fruits. Although I was overjoyed at the thought of getting energy into my body, I grew concerned at the sight of Celebi. She was out of breath and her wings were hardly fluttering the way they’re supposed to. She catches me spying on her and smiles, trying to wave away my concern she motions me to eat.

I reluctantly sit beside Ash, who had already sat down and was making himself feel at home, eating anything that was on the table, I feared for Celebi’s sake about this. I giggle at that thought.

For the next few long moments I eat vigorously, filling my heart and my stomach at the same time. We ate and ate until we could not fill ourselves anymore.

Ash leans back and pats his stomach with pleasure, sighing, then burps, and sighs again.

“That was great Celebi.”

She giggles slightly. *I am glad you enjoy it.* She grows serious. *But now, we need to hurry.*

I look at her knowingly. “For the gathering?”

*Yes. While you have been gathering strength, the Legendary Pokemon have been gathering at this very island.*

She floats from her spot on the table and starts to fly away, urging Ash and I to follow quickly. When we see her again she motions us to hurry, then she silently floats into a dark cave in the wall.

Ash and I look at each other for a moment, then we too go into the cave.

Rose signing on.

Ok, ok! So I know it’s been awhile since I put up a few parts. Big deal. This time I put up four, Parts 15 through 19. How do you like it so far? I know not much has been happening, but that’s because I’m building it up, making suspense, if you know what I mean. But who would have guessed that Rose would have Pokemon powers! I knew, of course, but that’s beside the point. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some action in the next few parts. And I hope that you’ll like the part about all of the Legendary Pokemon coming together for a Final Battle, because I just thought that would be awesome to put into the ‘novel’. I’m hoping that I can put up some more parts in about a week or less because of Christmas Break. This should be fun! But anyway... I’m rambling, as usual.

I hope that everyone apart of Pokemon Tower, in anyway, shape, or form, has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years, because if you don’t, I’ll sic Mystic on you, and you don’t want a dragon, any kind of dragon, mad at you! Tee hee!

Rose signing off.
