No I don’t own Pokemon, nor shall I ever will. If they won’t take my three Twinkies and a stuffed Penguin then I will never own them. But who wouldn’t want three Twinkies and a Penguin?! That’s just plain un-American! But anywho, now for the story and the adventure!

A Brief Moment in Time

Part 4

“Hey! You’re getting really good!”

“Thanks!” Master Ketchum and I have been training with his Pokemon for several hours. After I refused to practice with my Pokemon first, he said we could use his. Which I was thankful for. Even if I did keep Pokemon, they were in no condition to see people right now.

“Now you have to remember to use type advantages and weaknesses against your opponent. Every-”

“-Pokemon has a weakness. Yes, I remember Ash.” I don’t know how many times he has been repeating himself, but it’s entertaining.

He had tried to get me to use his Totodile against his Cyndaquil to demonstrate his point, but I had chose Bulbasaur. At least he wasn’t using Pikachu.

“Are you sure you want to use Bulbasaur?”

“Yes already! Let’s just battle!” I had been anxious to battle ever since this morning. Master Ketchum, Ash as they call him, has been a great teacher, as I expected. But I just want to get right to the battling.

“Alright, now get ready Rose, ‘cause I’m good!”

Don’t I know it!

“Only if you’re battling a beginner!” Yelled Misty from the sideline of our ‘battlefield’. Master Ketchum just shakes his head and ignores her.

“Cyndaquil! Go!”

“Cyndaquil!” The Pokemon squeals in delight. Great, he’s starting.

“Bulbasaur! I choose you!” I shout as I throw the red and white ball. A red beam of lightning beam shoots out and materializes Bulbasaur.

“Bulba, bulbasaur.”

“Cyndaquil, do a Fire Spin attack!”

I watch as the flames rush to Bulbasaur’s body. Wait for it… Now!

“Bulbasaur! Leap to the left, now!” He leaps out of the way in time for the attack to miss.

“Nice try Ash! But you’ll have to rely more on skill than luck in this battle!”

“I never rely on luck. I’m just pure talent.”

“Pure what? What did you say Ash? I thought you said pure talent! Must have been the wind!” Came Misty’s voice.

“Hey Misty you know I’m talented! Unlike some scrawny little redhead everyone here knows.”

“SCRAWNY! WHY YOU LITTLE-”

“Bulba! Saur!” Said the Pokemon as his vines, which were wrapped around Cyndaquil, slammed the opponent into the ground.

“Cyna!”

“Ah! Cyndaquil!” Master Ketchum’s attention was brought back to the battle. “Are you all right Cyndaquil?”

He blinked a few times then staggered to his feet.

“Alright Cyndaquil! Let’s try a Flame Thrower attack!”

“Another fire attack? Haven’t you learned by now that it won’t work Ash?” Wait for it… almost… Now!

“Bulbasaur! Leap to the Right!”

“Bulba!” And he leaped once more to avoid being singed.

Master Ketchum’s jaw dropped.

“How did you do that?!”

I shake my head, he really is dense. “And you wanted me to use Totodile.”

I hear Misty laughing with Brock and Pikachu on the sidelines.

“Alright already! Cut it out you guys!”

“Now! Bulbasaur! Do a Take Down attack!”

“Bulb, Bulba… Suar!” He runs straight towards Cyndaquil and with all his might rams into him, knocking him out while, at the same time, taking damage, but still conscious.

I run to Bulbasaur and give him a big hug. “That was a great battle Bulbasaur! You did great, AND you beat a fire type Pokemon too!”

“Bulba! Bulbasaur!” and he nodded and nuzzled me. I return my affection to the bulb Pokemon. Oh! Cyndaquil!

I turn abruptly to see Master Ketchum cradling Cyndaquil.

“Ash! Is Cyndaquil alright?”

He walks to me and I see Cyndaquil smiling. “Cynda! Cyndaquil!”

“Yea, Cyndaquil is doing just fine. But Rose…” I look at him sideways.

“What?”

“… Well… How did you do that?”

“Do what?”

“Win even with a type disadvantage.”

“Oh that.” I wink at him. “It’s my little secret, Ash.”

With him still confused, I get up and walk to Misty, Brock, and Pikachu with Bulbasaur still in my arms.

“Rose, that was a fantastic battle!” exclaims Brock.

“Pika pika!” Pikachu agrees.

My face feels warmer. “Thanks Brock.”

“Pika?” He says as he gives me a sideways glance. I wink at him, knowingly. He then smiles wide.

“You must be a quick learner Rose.” stated Misty. In nod in conferment. I have to be a quick learner.

“Well, I have a good teacher.”

“You bet you do!” Said Ash, as he joined the group. He still holding Cyndaquil.

“Too bad your teacher can’t be a better trainer.” said Misty.

“Toge toge piiii!”

“Too bad you don’t have a smaller mouth.”

“WHAT DID YOU SAY ASH KETCHUM?!”

“You heard me! I said-”

I never found out how they ended the argument because Brock, Pikachu, Bulbasaur and I were already leaving for camp.

Well, that concludes another part of this adventure. Eventually I’ll stop making these comments before and after the story parts, because I’m already tired of doing this. I just have too many parts to keep doing this kinda thing. Besides, you know the drill, post me what you think and I’ll welcome them with open arms. Unless you decide to send me a flame, then you can keep it. But anyway, thanks for reading!

Rose signing off.
