Epilogue

Celebi’s wings fluttered fast as she made down her way through the forest. Zipping to and fro through the trees, making her way as quickly as she could.

She can’t be late, she just can’t.

Finally, after several minutes of speedy flying, she reaches the end of the forest just east of Pallet Town. And from the looks of it, she made it just in time. She looks on at the small but important group of people, all sitting down. Some dabbing their eyes, others softly sighing, but all with smiles on their faces. On the front row is Ash with Pikachu on his lap, Misty, Delia Ketchum, and Professor Samuel Oak, all silently observing the unbelievable happening.

"Brock Slate, do you solemnly swear to take this woman in holy matrimony, to love, honor, and protect her. For richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?"

Brock looks deeply into the bright blue eyes of the woman next to him. He smiles at her and she returns the smile. He nods.

"I do."

"Rose Thorn, do you solemnly swear to take this man in holy matrimony, to love, honor, and protect him. For richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?"

"Yes, I do."

"Then by the power invested in me by the Town of Pallet, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Brock envelops Rose in his arms and kisses her deeply. A thunderous cheer erupts from behind them and they finally pull apart. Both smiling at each other.

It hardly seems like two years have passed since I had just met Brock and his friends... my friends. And when he proposed to me at the exact same spot we met a year later... we both knew I wouldn’t have said no.

Rose sighs as she looks at Brock’s grinning face, and her heart bursts with a mixture of love and joy all over again.

"I love you Brock." I silently whisper to him. But even under the roar of cheers he hears me.

"I love you too Rose. Forever."

I nod. "Forever." I hug him and look over his shoulder at the nearby forest. I’ve been expecting to see a certain someone today, my little winged friend to be more precise. I smile once I see her. Celebi.

I send her a silent message. *Even if I only met you for a brief moment in time, I’ll always remember you Celebi.*

She smiles. *And I you Rose. You’ll always be in my heart, forever. And no matter what, I’ll be here if you need me.*

I smile, then turn back to Brock and we make our way down the aisle.

Misty suddenly gasps and points up into the air. "Look! It’s Ho-oh!"

Brock and I turn our gaze up to see Ho-oh slowly flying through the sky, leaving broad rainbow behind his tails. It’s said that Ho-oh’s rainbow is a sign of hope and prosperity, giving luck to the people who see it.

I squint my eyes as I notice a spec drop from Ho-oh. What is that?

Whatever it was, it suddenly opened a miniature parachute. It’s falling slowed but continued.

Now it was in arms reach and I grab it as it floated down almost on top of my head. I take in a sharp breath of air.

"I can’t believe it."

"What Rose?"

I show him the palm of my hand, which held a necklace, with a figurine of the Fairy Pokemon.

I look up at Brock with wonder. His eyes mirrored my own. I quickly glance back at the forest, but it was too late. Celebi was gone. I give a small smile and shake my head. Her wedding present to me.

Thank you Celebi. For all that you’ve done. I’ll always remember you.

Because just a brief moment in time is still an eternity.

Rose signing on.

Well… it’s finally done. (a tear silently rolls down her cheek) I really enjoyed writing this story, and I’m sorry that’s it’s done. I hope that all that have read this story will continue to send me replies. And to those who have supported me from the start, thank you.

Team Rocket enters abruptly.

"Hey! How comes we only gots a small part in this here story?!"

Black Rose shrugs, slightly blushing from embarrassment. "Sorry Meowth. It’s just that I really didn’t need you for this story."

"But it would have been better if we were the ones that ended up as the heroes!" rants Jesse.

"The Twerps get to have all the fun!" continues James.

Black Rose rolls her eyes at the trio, then directs her attention the reader. "I’m sorry for the inconvenience. I really didn’t intend for Team Rocket to come out of the blue like this. It just happened."

"Why can’t we be the good guys for once!?!" wails Jesse, huge tears splatter everywhere.

"Could someone get a mop please?" Black Rose exits on the left of the screen.

"Team Rocket are still the bad guys once again!" cry the trio and they slowly disappear from view.

Rose signing off.
