“Nurse Joy, can you heal my Pokemon and give us two room?” Ash asked.
“I am sorry, as you can see,” she points at the lobby, there is a crowd, “we are almost full, and we have to save rooms for other trainers, I hope you understand, therefore, I can only give you one room.” Nurse Joy replies.
“Here is the key, you’ll get your Pokemon back tomorrow.”
Ash, Misty, and Kelly march into their room, there are two beds, no couch, just three chairs and a table, and there is a bathroom and a small back yard out side of the room. Todd had left to the Mt. Moon to get some pictures of Clefairy and Clefable.
“I guess I’ll just sleep on the floor then.” Ash said.
The two girls did not oppose the idea, but did not agree either.
“The floor is cold.” Misty said.
“Yeah, you might get a flu.” Kelly adds.
“Look you guys, I got used to sleeping on the ground, and you too, right Pikachu?” Ash said to Pikachu, but Pikachu shakes his head.
“Fine, you could sleep on the bed, as long as who ever you are sleeping with agrees.
They unpack everything quickly, Pikachu is teaching Togepi how to play poker.
“Let’s go get something to eat, I’m hungry.” Ash said.
“You are always hungry.” Misty said.
“I promised Brock to solve any problem among you two, I don’t want to shock you, Ash, but this is the only way. Pikachu, Thunder Bolt.” Kelly commands.
Pikachu, more than happily accepts the task, frying the two teens with a bolt of electricity.
“Ah!!!” The two scream.
“That should do it.” Kelly said, Pikachu stops sending out electricity.
Kelly quickly went to Ash’s side and help him get up, and picking up Ash’s hat from the ground. “Here, and I sorry, Brock told me-“
“It’s okay,” Ash said, “It’s not your fault, it’s Misty’s.”
“WHAT!” Misty jumps up, before anybody had realizes what is going on, Misty had tripped on her loosen shoelaces and fall on top of Ash. Misty quickly gets up and said, “Sorry, I, um, sorry.”
“Let’s go, guys, or the lobby would run out of food.” Kelly brakes the awkward moment.
“Food? Right.” Ash jumps up and zooms out of the room.
“Boys.” Misty said, shaking her head.
Very late that night, the snoring of Ash can be heard clearly throughout the small room. Misty gives up trying to drown the noise with the pillow, she gets up and goes out to the tiny back yard. She sees Kelly laying down on the damp grass staring up the sky; Kelly shivers as the cool night breeze creep past her.
“Hey Kelly, what are you doing up some late?”
“I can’t sleep, I have a lot on my mind.”
“You won’t understand.”
“I would understand.”
“I am sure you won’t.”
Misty is about to give up on the conversation until she remember that Ash had ask her to talk to Kelly to find out whatever her problems were. “Try me.”
Kelly adjust her head and stares at Misty doubtfully, “If I tell you, you can’t tell ANY body, okay?”
“Yeah, okay, sure.” Misty said rapidly.
“Do you know the Team Rocket Elites?”
“No, who are they?”
“They are just like the regular TR members, stealing Pokemon and money, but they do it in a more dirty, disgusting, and flawless way.”
“Okay, so what?”
“They…” Kelly’s voice begins to choke, “They killed my parents.”
“Oh my god.” Misty whisper, “I am sorry, but how did it happened?”
Kelly dries the tears with her hand, she controls her voice a little, it happened like this.”
“I know I am not Pokemon expert,” Kurt started, “but I want you to have this Totodile as your first Pokemon.”
“Oh my, thank you, Professor Kurt!” The ten years old Kelly said happily.
“You’re welcome, go on home, you don’t want to miss your mom’s dinner.”
Professor Kurt nodded his head happily.
Kelly release the Totodile, “Hi, Totodile. My name is Kelly, I am your trainer, and you are my first Pokemon, will you please help me fulfill my dream as becoming a gym leader?”
The small Totodile considered for a moment, they it nodded happily, “Dile!”
Kelly and Totodile strides back to Kelly’s house. The Totodile seemed very energetic; it battled many wild Pokemon and still seemed to be ready for more.
Then they reached the house, a van was parked outside. Kelly was very curious since her parents don’t drive a van, so she when inside and saw a young women and young man dressed in black, with a huge red “R” on the front.
“Hand over your Pokemon, little girl!” The woman barked.
“No! Who are you and where is my parents?” Kelly asked, she was trembling.
“Your parents are here,” The man said, he was holding a gun toward Kelly’s dad, “Hand over the Totodile, or your dad dies.”
Kelly looked reluctantly at her Totodile, she doesn’t want to hand over her first Pokemon, but her family is more important.
“Fine.” She returned the Totodile and threw the Poke-Ball at the woman, she caught in palm, “Good girl, now say good bye to your mom and dad.”
Two heavy blows of vibration rang Kelly’s ears. The next thing she knows, both her parents were died. Kelly picked up a rock and threw it at them women, the rock hit the women’s hand, and the Poke-Ball was dropped from her hand.
Before the man and the woman could do or say anything, the sirens of police cars were heard. The man said “We will get you for this, Team Rocket Elites won’t fail a mission.” Then both of the TR Elites drove their van away.
-----Flash Back Ends-----
Kelly stands up, “I think you know enough, Misty.”
“Yeah, but is there anything else you want to tell me?”
“Yes, but it’s very complicated, you would laugh if I tell you.” Kelly’s expression begins to turn, from sorrow to happiness and eagerness.
“I swear I won’t.”
“Promise me again that you won’t tell anybody about this.”
“I promise.” Misty said in an annoyed tone.
“Well, it’s about Ash.” A dreamy expression is written all over Kelly’s face.
“What about him?” Misty grows impatient, and deep in her heart, grow fear.
“I kind of-”
“Kind of what?” Misty threatens, her fear grew.
“Let me finish, I kind of, er, like him, do you think he likes me?” Kelly said, very antsy to know the answer.
“I don’t know.” Misty whisper, she is in a zombie stat.
