~*~*~*~*~*~Disclaimer = I do not own the pokemon, but I DO own my own characters that I have come with. Team Rocket not included but any characters not in the manga, movies, or television show are mine. Unless I say so otherwise. ~*`*~*~*~*~ In a small house in the woods a lone light was on in a two-story house, the light came from an upstairs bedroom. A tall fence surrounded the house, it helped to contain the growlithe and arcanine that were bred and raised there. They were all fast asleep, including the humans in the house. Except for a girl around the age of fourteen maybe fifteen. She sat on the bed in the room with the light on. She could hardly keep herself awake but she knew she had to just incase something happened to the runt growlithe she was taking care of. The growlithe was breathing quite heavily, he had had a rough time since he had been born but at least he was alive. That was what Kali was thinking. She had saved him from certain death; his mother had rejected him at birth. Even though she was one who usually didn’t reject her puppies but she did to this one. Being the runt of the litter, he was quite small compared to the normal sized growlithe. The poor tike probably had small lungs that could hardly contain the oxygen amount he needed to live. Kali had decided to try and raise the pup herself. She was already attached to him, she couldn’t help it. She usually became attached to any pokemon around her home even if they were wild. That’s just how she was. Kali was just about to fall asleep curled around the growlithe when she began to hear cries of pokemon, growlithe and arcanine alike from outside. She instantly jerked up causing the growlithe to lift his head as well. Rushing to the window she instantly grabbed a jacket and shoes when she team rocket members stealing the growlithe and arcanine from the yard. She picked up the growlithe she had been watching over and rushed out the door to her room her parents already down the stairs and rushing out the door calling upon their own pokemon to them from the yard. Kali followed after them. She began to whistle loudly and many of the arcanines ears perked up, they grabbed the growlithe not yet caught by team rocket and prepared to leap towards Kali but before they could, a large net was dropped from the sky upon them. Kali screamed as they began to pull the pokemon into the sky. As she ran at them a charizard dropped from the sky preparing a flamethrower. She spun and was about to duck when she felt the flames lick at her back and around the sides of her face as she fell curling around the growlithe she held screaming in pain. This was quite a theft for team rocket; they usually came in smaller groups. What was going on with them now that led to this? She heard screams from her parents as they to rushed at the net along with their pokemon. Except, their screams were the cries of death, as the charizards flames got them so bad they burned to death. She had to run. Getting up from the ground she broke into a flat out sprint. She would be lucky if she escaped the charizard which ones quickly following her through the air with screams of rage. So they wanted no witnesses to the crime. Kali found her way through the trees barely dodging them but she was tired. The burns were taking a toll on her and she swore she could hardly stand up. She heard the charizards leathery wings flapping through the air and sometimes the rush of air from his movement almost knocking her down or lifting her into the air. Someone…someone please be out there. Someone please help me. She pleaded in her head. She didn’t want to die today. Oh no, she really didn’t. Tears were streaming down her face like a waterfall as she ran falling onto the young growlithes fur. He whined and moved a paw to his face. Kali understood him perfectly; she had a talent for that. She could understand what pokemon were saying. She loved the talent but she hated being that different from everyone else. He to was scared. He didn’t want to die either. He had sworn that he would protect her if he needed to. Kali smiled at the growlithe as they ran. “I’m going to have to name you. Your Pyralis from now on, it means of the fire. You like that?” Pyralis smiled with joy. He finally had a name. Even if it came to him at a time like this. I luff it Kali. He couldn’t exactly speak right either, yet. He still had a puppyish tint to his voice. Kali ran on. She hardly realised how far they had gone until the sun was beginning to rise. They had managed to evade the charizard but it was going to get them soon, she was going to collapse. And collapse she did. Kali tripped over a tree root she didn’t notice and screamed as she fell. Hitting her head on a low branch as she fell she passed out barely missing landing on Pyralis’ leg. He had been flung a few feet away hitting a tree and passing out as well. The charizard landed with a roar of triumph over his next victims. But something wasn’t to far from the scene and it wasn’t too happy with what was going on.
