"This is great!" Misty shouted, collapsing to her knees. She picked up a rock and threw it with all of her strength as it plummetted over the cliff. It landed somewhere in the water a 200 feet below. Crystal, Ash and Brock all drew back. Ash made an attempt to calm her but she screamed at him. "This is all your fault!" She hissed, standing up and glaring at him. "It's always your fault! Someday you're gonna get us all killed! Get out of my face!" Ash took a step backwards, clenching his fists. His jaw tightened and he stared at her. He hung there, then a few moments later he threw up his hands. "Yeah, it's always my fault isn't it." He said calmly. "So maybe I should just leave. Cuz I've had enough of you blaming me for everything! If you hate being with us, why don't you leave?" That blow had hit Misty hard. Tears filled her eyes as he kept walking backwards. "You want your bike? Here, take this money and go buy a new one! It won't do you much good, cuz we're all stranded on this frigging island in the middle of nowhere!" He sneered, turning and walking away. Pikachu stared at him for a moment, hugged Misty and ran after Ash. Misty got on her hands and knees and peered down the side of the cliff at the water below. She got up, put Togepi down, walked backwards about thirty feet, then ran for the edge of the cliff. She was trying to kill herself! Crystal's Houndoom was the first to try and help. Being faster than Brock and Crystal, it raced out in front of Misty as Brock grabbed onto one arm and Crystal hung on to the other. They pulled her away from the edge as she struggled and kicked them. She landed a few hard blows against Brock's stomach and *uh, shall I say unit*, knocking the wind out of him, causing him to fall to the ground. Crystal put her arms around Misty and kept her from running. "Misty, you can't do this!" Crystal shouted, struggling to hold onto Misty. Misty gave up finally and sat, panting. She stared at the ground before noticing Brock, who was laying sideways on the ground. Misty and Crystal pulled themselves off the ground and ran over to Brock. "Oh my God, Brock...I'm so sorry." Misty apologized, rubbing his shoulder. "It's alright..." He groaned. He let out a weak cough as they both helped him off the ground. Crystal put one of his arms around her shoulders and began leading him down the cliff with Misty. "I'll go look for Ash." Crystal said, making sure Misty could hold Brock up. Then she raced down the cliff with Houndoom right in front of her. "ASH!" The first place she could look was the hut they had found. It was about the size of a big living room, made out of bamboo. The floor was sand, the door was just an opening in the wall, the windows were just squares cut out of the bamboo and the roof was made of straw. "Ash, are you in here?" She stepped into the "Doorway" and saw Ash sitting in a corner, staring at the ceiling. Crystal made her way across the furniture-less hut and over to Ash. "Are you okay?" Crystal asked. Pikachu was playing with Houndoom outside. "I don't know. She hates me." He groaned, slapping his hand against his forehead. "No she doesn't. I should know, I'm her best friend. Um, just to let you know, cuz I don't wanna keep any secrets that'll probably surface anyway, she um, tried to kill herself up there." Crystal explained. Ash stared at her with disbelief and concern. "Is she okay? What happened?" Crystal noticed Pikachu freeze as it looked into the doorway. "She tried to run off the cliff. Brock and I held her back. She's okay." "Good...Where are they?" "On the cliff. Misty kicked the shit out of Brock, though. He'll be fine. But, I think if you go talk to her, that might keep her from trying to commit suicide. I'll make sure Brock's fine." Crystal left, petting pikachu. Ash stayed there for a few moments. Crystal bolted back up to the cliff, with Ash a couple feet behind her. "Misty, can I talk to you?" Ash asked nicely. Misty nodded slowly and gave Brock's arm to Crystal. The two walked away and waited until they were out of sight before talking as Crystal brought Brock back to the hut, their new home until they found a way off the island. "I'm sorry Ash. It's not always your fault either." Misty confessed as they reached a beach. "It's alright. But I am sorry as hell that we landed here." Ash said as he looked out onto the never-ending ocean. At least it seemed like it went forever. They had ended up here, on some deserted island this morning after the boat they were taking sunk. They had washed up on shore, like driftwood, and had already explored the island. They had to climb to the top of the cliff to make sure the island wasn't really a penninsula and that they missed a part of the island. That's when Misty had started fighting. "It's not your fault, really. We all wanted to go. Maybe we can see this as a uh, vacation, kinda." Misty thought she was exaggerating, but Ash understood. About an hour later, they went back "home" and helped Brock and Crystal get firewood. After they had gotten enough firewood, they went back to the hut, and Brock set up a few rocks in a circular position for the fire. He was having a little trouble breathing (and walking, lol), but he wouldn't admit it, especially not to Misty, he didn't want to make her feel bad. They had all set up their sleeping bags, and belongings they had. They each had their own corner. Then they gathered around the fire, eating some of the food they had packed for the trip to the Sapphire Islands. "Okay, what are we doing tomorrow?" Ash asked, watching Pikachu eat silently. "Well, we are running low on food so a few people can go fishing tomorrow." Misty suggested. The rest nodded. Brock coughed a few times and held his stomach, trying hard to breathe. "Brock, you okay?" Ash crawled over to Brock. Brock nodded and coughed once more. He looked into the fire and quietly gasped for breath. Misty finally realized that his breathing problems were her fault. "Oh my god, that must've been my fault. I'm so sorry..." She apologized, Brock shook his head. "Don't worry about it..." He groaned quietly. Misty sat back down, feeling sad and guilty. "And to give this place a homey look, we could probably do some work on it, right now its just a big room." Ash said. "Well, I think we should concentrate on what we really need right now. Like fresh water." said Crystal, who was petting her Houndoom. That and Ninetales were the only pokemon she was traveling with, because the group was going into a completely different region. Ash was only traveling with Pikachu, Misty had a Golduck and Togepi, and Brock had Vulpix and Larvitar, which had been declared his, finally. "Well, my Golduck could give us water." Misty said. "We have cups and stuff like that." So they spent the rest of the night, discussing what they needed and what was not needed and how they were going to live for the next few months, maybe years. They reached a descision that as long as they had enough of everything, this could be paradise.
