"Welcome to the SS Titanic," said the sailor checking my ticket. He ripped off a small part of it and handed it me the left over part. I entered the large cruise ship. The ticket cost nearly all the money I had. But with no water Pokémon to ride, the ship was my only choice.

The ship was extremely large. Two smoke stackes stuck out high, a little smoke billowing out. The floor of the 3 floors of decks were wood. There was three floors inside of the ship for eating, shopping, and other public services. There was also five floors for rooms but they were not needed for this short trip. The sailor that sold me the ticket told me it would only take a few hours if the whirl pools don't form around the Whirl Islands.

"All aboard!" the captain shouted over the speakers. A loud horn followed his shout. The ship began moving after that. I stood on the deck looking out at the sea.

"Hey you, are you a Pokémon Trainer?" a voice asked me. I turned around and saw a boy with messy brown hair. He was on a t-shirt and shorts with multiple colors. He was sorta skinny and had huge blue eyes. He was around 12 or so and almost as tall as me. Six Pokéballs gripped on to his trainer's belt along with the blue backpack on his back.

"Yeah, I'm a trainer," I answered.

"Hi, I'm Mikey. Want to have a battle?" he asked me politely.

"Sure," I said.

"How does 2 on 2 sound?" Mikey asked. I nodded.

We backed away from each other for a little bit and reached for a Pokéball. We threw it out at the same time. The first Pokémon he chose was an Eevee. The first one I chose was Umbreon. Eevee shrank back a little from its dark evolution but seemed almost fearless after some encouraging words from Mikey.

VS.

"Go Eevee, use the Tackle," said Mikey.

"Use Leer," I said taking advantage of Eevee's fear.

Umbreon glared at Eevee with his eyes glowing threateningly. Eevee stopped in his tracks, frozen by fear. Umbreon attacked the stunned Eevee quickly with his Quick Attack that knocked Eevee off his feet.

"Eevee, don't be afraid of him. Just becuase he's an evolved Eevee, remember the others at home. They were evolved too and you did great against them. Now go out there and give him your best Take Down!" Mikey ancouraged Eevee. Eevee nodded and got up for more.

"Reflect and then counter attack," I said. Unlike some of the TV show characters(like Whitney), I listen to what trainers say and try to change my strategies according to that.

Umbreon created a golden force field in front of him. Eevee didn't evem hesitate as he jump right through the Reflect with his viscious Take down. It slowed him down a little but didn't stop him from dealting Umbreon a punishing blow. Eevee continued his assault with a close-up Tackle. Eevee leapt forward for another Tackle but was surprised that his target had disappeared. Umbreon hit him from behind with a fierce Faint Attack.

"Bite'em," said Mike.

Eevee lunged forward and bit Umbreon on his front right leg. Umbreon looked down calmly and easily shook the biting evolution Pokémon off and slapped him with his paw. Umbreon growled showing his own sharp teeth. Eevee jumped back and prepared himself for another hit. Surprisingly, it never came.

"Eevee, finish that Umbreon off with Agility and Take Down," said Mikey. This startegy was going to be a tricky. The rate of speed Eevee was going at increased the strength of Eevee's attack and Umbreon could not tell which direction it was coming from. Eevee zipped around Umbreon, a brown and white blur.

"Umbreon, be careful," I warned. I couldn't think of anything at all. Umbreon was on his own.

Umbreon jumped out of the brown blur that surrounded him. Eevee was almost expecting this move and hit Umbreon in the back as he landed. Umbreon was knocked off his feet and on to the ground in pain. He didn't get up.

"Umbreon, great job, return," I said recalling Umbreon back to his Pokéball. Mikey did the same to Eevee to let him have a rest from the battle.

"Krabby!" Mikey called out his crab Pokémon. I chose the mantis Pokémon, Scyther, for this battle.

VS.

"Slash attack," I said.

"Crab Hammer," Mikey called out.

Scyther slashed at the crab Pokémon wit his bladed claws. To my surprise, Krabby blocked the first Slash with his pinsers. His exoskeleton provided some protection. Scyther Slashed again, this time hitting Krabby across the face and sent him flying. When Krabby landed back on the floor, he was out of the match.

"I knew I shouldn't have used him, I just caught him," Mikey groaned. He called back Krabby and I did the same with Scyther. It was a tie match with each trainer knocking out one Pokémon so no money was exchanged. We both had downstairs, inside the ship, to the small Pokémon Center.

It was sorta crowded with all the people inside. The stair leading down inside was made of black tiles, so was the floor of the rest of the inside. It looked almost like a mall, with various shops and restuarants selling a variety of items. Many people walked around with bags branded with names of some of the stores. It was in almost circular in shape. I was surprised how big it was and by some of the name of the stores, they were from my own world. The Gap could clearly be seen to my right.

At the opposite side of the room was the small Pokémon Center. About ten trainers were lining up to give their Pokémon to the Nurse Joy that was working there. Mikey and I managed to squeezed through the crowd and got in line before any other trainer came along.

After about twenty minutes, our Pokémon were healed and we were back outside on the lowest deck. Mikey was with me, we had become friends, even though it was not spoken out loud. We were leaning against the rails, the wind blowing softly at our hair. It was a very peaceful moment, especially with the sun seting in the distance.

"So you heading for the gym?" Mikey broke the silence.

"No, I need to get medicine for a sick Pokémon. Why are going there?" I asked.

"Wow, a sick Pokémon. I was just going to challenge the gym leader. Eevee is my strongest Pokémon and he'll stomp out the gym leader," said Mikey with confidence.

"He uses fighting type Pokémon, Eevee's weakness. Be careful," I warned.

"How do you know?" Mikey asked.

"Um..., my Pokédex told me," I lied. I couldn't tell him I was from another world and that I found out through a video game. It sounded nuts. It still sounded crazy to me even though it actually happend.

Small islands appeared in the horizon. They looked like over sized rocks floating in the water at this distance. As we got closer, I could see that each of the islands contained a cave. The water around the islands suddenly started to move, making a low rumbling sound. The waves gots higher and the water started to swirl as if someone had flushed a giant toilet.

"What's happening?" I shouted over the noise.

"I don't know!" Mikey answered. We quickly ran to get inside the boat. Many people were panicing and pushing to get in. I was shoved roughly many times as I entered. People were screaming loudly. Mikey and I were quickly separated in the large crowd.

"Everyone, please remain clam. The whirl pools have unexpectedly formed around the Whirl Islands. Everyone needs to be calm and cautious, this ship will not sink," the captain's voice crackled over the speakers that were planted all over the ship. The ship suddenly rocked violently. Many people fell off balanced, my self included. I felt someone landed on top of me and scrambbled to get up. A resounding noise of something hitting the ship was heard. Again, I was knocked off my feet.

"Everyone, please remain calm!" it was the captain again. "We have beached on an island. Unfortunately, we are stuck here until the whirl pools stop." This seemed to calm things down. We were aloud to go outside to look. Getting off the ship was strictly forbidden though. I was once again outside looking the island and leaning against the railing.

"Some crash, huh?" Mikey came up beside me. I nodded slowly. "So what are you gonna do about that sick Pokémon. The whirl pools won't stop for a while," Mikey asked.

"I don't know," I answered.

"If you have a Surf HM, I'll let you borrow my Super Rod. You could surf there then. I hear that a surfing water Pokémon easily swim between the rapids. Or maybe a flying Pokémon with the Fly HM," Mikey suggested.

"I don't have any HMs. But catching Pokémon is a good idea. Can your rod reach the water from up here?" I asked.

"Of course, I bought one of the longest reels made by man," Mikey boasted. He opened his backpack and got out three parts of the fishing rod followed by some lures and the reel of string. He put it all together almost expertly and twisted them to secure them in place.

"Thanks," I said and took the rod from him. We got about to the middle of the ship and began fishing there. Some of the other trainers had turned to fishing as well. I notice that one of the trainers had pulled up a Tentacruel and on the verge of capturing it. I got a used a random lure from Mikey and threw the hook in to the water, mimmicing what my uncle did on his fishing trips.

"It usually takes a few minute before any Pokémon gets hooked," Mikey told me. I nodded and waited.

Ten minutes passed and nothing happend. A different trainer had pulled up a Staryu but it got away before he could catch it. I never knew Recover was so annoying. "This isn't any good, I'll let you go," I said giving when suddenly I felt a tug at my line. "I got one!" I yelled. Everyone turned to look at me like I was nuts but I didn't care, I was gonna catch a Pokémon. Mikey came over to help as I pulled and try to reel the Pokémon in.

"Whirl!" an annoyed voice cried out as the Pokémon landed on the boat. It was a Poliwhirl! I immediately called out Ivysaur before she could get away.

VS.

"Vine whip," I called to Ivysaur. Ivysaur attacked right away. Poliwhirl slapped at the vine with her gloved hands and avoided most of the hits. A sudden slap across her face cause her to lose her balance and fall. Ivysaur sprayed out a blue sparkling powder but Poliwhirl seemed unaffected.

Poliwhirl punched Ivysaur in the face. Ivysaur slid back about an inch and tackled to get the Poliwhirl to back off a little. He tried the Sleep Powder again and this time it worked. "Great job, Ivysaur. We got her now!" I said and threw the Pokéball. Poliwhirl was sucked inside and the ball rocked almost violently. It rocking got slower.....slower, *DING!*. "Alright!" I said grabbing the Pokéball. After another short visit to the Pokémon Center, Poliwhirl was fully healed but a bit shy around me. Mikey didn't want to catch another water Pokémon yet so we headed to the top deck and sat on the lawn chairs to rest. Our Pokémon spread out around us. Mikey's Pokémon were Eevee, Krabby, Spearow, and Ledyba.

"Growlithe Growlithe Growlithe Growlithe (Eww, how could you catch a girl Pokemon? And a water one too!)" Growlithe complained. Being a young puppy, he must be still at that "girls have cooties" stage. I couldn't help but laugh. Growlithe didn't think it was very funny though. He looked at me like I was nuts and turned around, walking straight in to a very angry Poliwhirl. I could hear Growlithe made *gulping!* sound before a hit in the head had him knocked silly. I called him back in to his Pokéball to spare him from anymore embarassment.

"You can understand your Pokémon? Wow, that's kinda cool. Can you teach me how to do it?" Mikey asked from the chair next to me.

"I don't even know how I understand them," I said with a small shrug.

"It's still kinda neat though," said Mikey in a soft tone.

"AHH! Help, I hooked a Gyarados!" Someone screamed from the back of the ship. I could barely hear the guy. The following loud roar of anger could be heard quite clearly though. The boat rocked wildly as Gyaradow rammed it. Gyarados roared again, this time with pain and anger. "Watch out, Hyper Beam!" someone warned.

A white beam flashed across the sky hitting the large smoke stack closest to me and Mikey. A Large part of it blew apart and began rapidly to fall. "Run for it!" I yelled getting Mikey's and all of our Pokémon attention. The large metal piece was falling straight at us. We had no choice but to jump over board. I leapt over the railing and saw the ground coming quickly at me. The broken smoke stack hit my foot just as I made it. I landed in the water, the force of it knocking the air out of me. Mikey and our Pokémon landed all around me.

The strength of the water was immediate. I was pulled towards the cave. I struggled and reached the top, gasping for air. That didn't stop the current from pulling me in to the cave. The path was rough and I bumped in to several rocks receiving small wounds here and there. I struggled to stay afloat, the current moved faster. I saw a flash of many colors. Was it Mikey? My Pokémon? Mikey's Pokémon? I couldn't tell and my strength was ebbing away.

All along the way, it was getting to dark to see. I was so tired and yet the current prevented me to get to shore. The current only went faster. As the last of my strength ebbed away, I could see the waterfall we were about to approach. I heard someone cursed, I couldn't tell if it was Mikey or me. My head went under the water as I was too tired to stay afloat. All the while, I was closer and closer to the waterfall.

Yeah, a cliffhanger. How do you like it? ^_^ I know it's rotten of me to leave you guys hanging but I have to. Please e-mail me! Thanks! Luckvillag@aol.com.
