Yay, I'm off my lazy butt. I'm here to type up chapter 6 now. School is dragging time out of my hands and I'm lucky to be typing this. My English teacher suddenly got super demanding. Please maximize your screen for best viewing.

Notice something different? I used Jolt's html tutorial and Deus Ex's help to learn some HTML. Thanks a lot to both of you. Deus Ex also enhanced the pics for me so it won't appear fuzzy like on the websites. I think he did Ivysaur the best, do you? I also added a little of my creative to surprisingly worked. I bet even Deus Ex would be surprised.^_^ Also, please don't ask him to improve pics for you, I don't know if he'll say yes or no.

Chapter 6

Battle for the Badge

Level 25 Ivysaur

Level 20 Azulmarril

Level 15 Umbreon

"Ring! Ring! Ring! Phone call! Phone call!" an annoying mechanical voice summoned me from my sleep. Nurse Joy rushed to answer the phone call.

I woke up and rubbed the sleep in my eyes. There was an audible cracking noise as I sat up. Sleeping in the sofa was not good for anyone's back. I groaned as I got up and headed towards the restroom knowing I would not be able to get to sleep again. I glanced at the clock noting that it was a little after seven in the morning. I stumbbled to the bathroom bumping in to another trainer and quietly appologized. I grabbed my blothes and toothbrush.

"Wake up," I said shaking my sleeping Pokémon awake. Ivysaur mumbled in his sleep. Umbreon woke up silently without one complaint. He yawned and nodded at me. I shook Ivysaur again receiving only a mumble again, it was something about frying a big cow. Azulmarril was left alone because everyone knew what he would do when awaken. That person would be soaked.

I decided to surprise the Azulmarril with a little trick. The only thing was that Nurse Joy might have to dry the floor. I sneaked behind Azulmarril and shook him suddenly calling his name. Azulmarril surprisingly turned around and sprayed water all over me soaking my clothes with no mercy. He looked confused for a second but then burst out laughing at the sight of me. I glared at him. Now I had to change again.

"Umb(Child)," I heard Umbreon mutter under his breath about Azulmarril. Umbreon had matured a lot gaining a dark attitude. He seemed to dislike Azulmarril's prankish ways and refers Azulmarril as a foolish and childish troublemaker.

I shoved Ivysaur hard but not hard enough to hurt him. Ivysaur peeled his eyes open and glanced around. "Saur....Ivy(Early.....sleep)," said Ivysaur closing his eyes.

"Wake up," I said pushing him again. Ivysaur woke up this time complaining about more sleep. I reached in to my backpack for the Pokémon food and poured it in to bowls I placed on the floor. The Pokémon approached and bowl and dug in.

"Think the gym leader got any stronger?" I asked my Pokémon as I stood at the front door of the gym.

"Saur (Of course)," Ivysaur answered.

"Mar (Duh)!" Azulmarril added.

"Let's get her before she get even stronger," I said. I pulled open the door and tried to ignore my nervousness. I walked in to the battle arena of the gym. Whitney stood in the sidelines brushing a Pokémon's fur. I couldn't tell what it was because she stood between me and the Pokémon. She quickly called it back in it Pokéball when she heard the door creak open.

"Back for a rematch?" asked Whitney. I nodded. "Don't expect me to go easy on you," said Whitney. We headed to our trainer's square and grabbed a Pokéball.

"Rules?" I asked.

VS

"3 on 3 match with 1 item for each trainer," stated Whitney. She threw out the first Pokémon, Miltank. My best bet was Ivysaur since he was at the highest experience level. I let him out of the Pokéball for his much needed revenge. Ivysaur came out growling startling the cow Pokémon. Ivysaur pressed his attack with a couple vine whips. Miltank received a red mark on her shoulders and glared at the plant Pokémon angrily.

"Slam," said Whitney. Ivysaur tackled Miltank barely moving the giant. Miltank slammed in to Ivysaur sending him tumbling back towards me.

"Try the Sleep Powder," I suggested. Miltank surged forward again but Ivysaur dodged aside and sprayed out a blue dust. Miltank stumbbled back and fell on her back in a deep slumber.

"Wake up Miltank!" Whitney shouted. She was trying to wake Miltank up.

"Charge up Solar Beam!" I exclaimed in excitement of taking out Whitney's strongest Pokémon. Ivysaur took in solar energy. Miltank blinked and rubbed her eyes. Ivysaur was still charging energy as Miltank prepared to attack.

"Attract," Whitney stated. I swear I saw her grin as she said this but it could be my imagination. I dreaded the words the minute they were out of Whitney's mouth knowing what happend last time. Miltank blew a kiss at Ivysaur.

Everything seem to happend in slow motion as the heart flew towards Ivysaur. Ivysaur shook with fear at the offensive love attack flying towards his face. He suddenly grew angry and blew it away with his Solar Beam. The beam of pure solar energy blasted through the heart and sent Miltank crashing to the ground with a sickening thud.

"Good job, Ivysaur! You beat that attack!" I congradulated him.

"Saur (Of course)!" Ivysaur said.

We both called back our Pokémon. Whitney waited as I decided on which Pokémon I would use. I decided on Umbreon. Whitney used her Clefairy. Both came out ready for the battle. Clefairy stood smiling in a friendly matter. Umbreon had no expression like an expert Poker player but better.

VS

"Alright Clefairy, this should be an easy one since this is his lowest leveled one. Metronome it," said Whitney with the natural gym leader's arrogance.

"Faint Attack," I said trying the new attack. Clefairy waved her fingers preparing for the unpredictable attack. She suddenly stopped breathed out a long column of flames. It was a Flamethrower attack. The flames reached towards Umbreon but surprisingly going through Umbreon's fading figure. Umbreon suddenly appeared with a dark aura around him. He slammed in to Clefairy his aura remaining strong.

"Keep going," I incouraged him.

"Defense Curl and Mega Punch it when he appears," instructed Umbreon.

"Agility after the attack," I quickly added. Umbreon faded away again as Clefairy curled up preparing for the hit. Umbreon appeared and stood waiting in front of Clefairy. Clefairy suddenly lunged forward getting a good hit on Umbreon but Umbreon expected this retaliating with his Faint Attack.

"Pound it," said Britney.

"Time to hit them hard, go Double Edge," I said. Umbreon thrust forward his aura glowing dangerously. I saw Whitney quickly throwing a metal canister. the canister hit the floor with a loud echoing *CLANG!*. The canister opened letting a greenish energy surround Umbreon and weakened his black aura. The item confused Umbreon for a breif second that Clefairy took advantage of inflicting a painful blow to Umbreon.

"Come here!" I instructed pulling out an orange spray bottle. It was a Super Potion. I sprayed Umbreon to heal a little of his wounds. Umbreon was ready for battle again. He charge forward hitting Clefairy with a painful Double Edge. Clefairy got up and Pounded Umbreon driving him back.

"Another Double Edge should finish her," I said.

"Metronome," said Whitney. Celfairy waved her fingers again this time chanting in her own language. Umbreon stood ready for a powerful attack. Clefairy suddenly stopped and a pillar of water erupted from the floor. Umbreon jumped away only to be hit by another pillar. It was the most powerful water attack, the Hydro Pump. The area Umbreon was standing in was pummeled by pillars of water. Umbreon managed to use his Agility to get out. Clefairy was prepared with another quicky Metronome. I could see Clefairy's surprised expression as fire erupted from her small body. Blazes of fire came from Clefairy's Explosion. Umbreon was burned to point of not being able to get up. We both recalled out Pokémon in to there Pokéballs.

"Azulmarril,"I said sending the blue mouse Pokémon out. Even he knew to be serious as I was so close to winning my first Johto League Badge. The goofiness was completely gone from him.

"My newest, Furret!" Whitney said sending out the Pokémon. She seemed to be upset that she was now losing. I could see her stiffing as if to stop herself from crying. I was not totally expecting this but I still badly wanted my badge. This girl had annoyed me enough with her rude arrogance. She wasn't getting off easy. Besides, if she won again, I know I wouldn't be able to hear the end of it.

VS

"Um.....are you okay?" I asked.

"Use your Fury Swipes," said Whitney glaring at me and letting a few tears escape.

"Don't go easy on her, go use Bubble Beam," I said feeling a little bad and trying to reason with myself that she deserved it. Furret attacked quickly swiping with her sharp claws. Azulmarril tried to back away but failed miserably receiving scratch marks on his stomach. Azulmarril blew out a blew beam with bubbles in it knocking Furret back a little. He continued his attack with a Water Gun that soaked Furret's fur slowing him down a bit.

"Tackle," I said.

"Take Down," said Whitney. Azulmarril tackled Furret not doing much damage. Furret hit Azulmarril full forced knocking him back at my feet.

"You can take her, try for Bubble Beam again and finish with Double Edge," I instructed.

"Agility," said Whitney. Azulmarril blew out another blue beam with bubbles but Furret wasn't even there anymore. Furret appeared behind Azulmarril and tackled him to the ground. Azulmarril laid still on the ground and blew a Bubblebeam straight in to Furret's face. Furret covered her eyes from the water but Azulmarril attacked again with Double Edge. Furret was knocked out cold.

"YEAH! I 'm getting my first badge," I said happily. There was a slience as Whitney and I called back our Pokémon in to their Pokéballs.

What happend next was unexpected. "Wah.......You're so mean!" Whitney screamed at me and began crying.

"Um.....um.....I'm sorry," I said.

"Go away!" Whitney screamed. I had no choice but to leave. I stepped out of the arena and back in to the main hall. The same Beauty I battled two days ago was still there behind a counter with a clip board.

"Whitney crying again?" Beauty asked me seeing by guilty expression. I nodded slowly sighing. "Don't worry about it, she'll get over. Just go in in a few minutes for your badge," said the Beauty.

"Thanks," I said.

I did exactly what she said and went back to the arena after a few minutes. Whitney was spraying a bottle of Max Potion on her Pokémon which seemed to be working perfectly. She turned around and saw me. She seem to be angry at me but had a more appologetic expression on her face.

"I'm sorry," Whitney started.

"It's okay," I said.

"Well, congradulations. You earned this and take this for my appologies," Whitney congradulated and gave me a diamond shaped Badge with TM Attract.

"Thanks!" I exclaimed smiling.

It was about four in the afternoon. I had my Pokémon healed quickly and was currently relaxing in the Pokémon Center. I sat on the couch watching television. Gundam Wing was on and I was surprised they had it in this dimension. It was the last episode with Wing Zero and Epyon fighting to the finish. My eyes were practically glued to the television.

"Azulmarril marril mar (Do you know what TM this is?)" Azulmarril asked. He sat in front of the couch with Ivysaur and Umbreon. Azulmarril made a kissing face and laughed at his own joke.

"Umbreon Umbreon (That device is valuable, you shouldn't play with it)," said Umbreon.

"Azulmarril marril Azul (You only want it to pick up so chicks)," Azulmarril teased.

"Umbreon Umbreon (I wouldn't be foolish enough to use it for such a foolish reason)!" Umbreon shot back.

"Calm down you two, the best part is coming up," I said silencing them both. I continued watching as Wing Zero fired a few rounds of his machine guns on his shoulders. Epyon dodged most of them and threw his whip forward but Zero dodged aside.

"Ivysaur Ivy Ivysaur (How do you watch this stuff)?" Ivysaur asked. I ignored him and continued watching.

"Umbreon (Impressive)," Umbreon commented watching Epyon and Wing Zero in a duel.

"Azul Azulmarril (Is fighting all you think about)?" Azulmarril asked the Dark Pokémon. Umbreon didn't answer or even look at the mouse Pokémon.

"Tomorrow we head for the next gym," I said as the ending theme song came up.

"Ivysaur saur (Catch Pokémon)!" Ivysaur suggested.

"Umbreon breon Umbreon (It would help to enlarge our forces)," Umbreon stated.

"Azulmarril (Fighting berserker)," Azulmarril called to Umbreon.
