This Means War! By Cel3stial drag0n Wow, I'm actually updating this story! Hope you enjoy this chapter! The reason I'm updating this story is because…this story was nominated! Thanks guys! I'm really happy! Without you guyses' support I couldn't get this far! Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon. I don't own Advil. Ages (see part 1) Part 5: Misunderstandings ****** It was early morning. Ash had just woken up and was staring at Misty. 'D***, she sure is beautiful when she's asleep. She looks so peaceful. (A/N: I know I usually cuss in my other fics, but I'm trying to keep this one's rating low.) Ash got out of his bed and started to weave his hand through her hair. Suddenly, Misty started to stir. Ash quickly jumped back into bed and turned extremely red. He didn't know that Richie had seen the whole thing. ****** Richie was laughing so hard that he was rolling around in bed. "Gosh, he has it bad." Richie continued to laugh, snorting once in a while. Eventually, he fell off the bed. When he finally stopped laughing and opened his eyes while wiping away tears, he noticed that Misty was right in front of him, sledgehammer in hand. "YOU MUST'VE BEEN THE ONE WHO WOKE ME UP! SO, YOU THINK LAST NIGHT WAS FUNNY, HUH? WELL THEN, LAUGH AT THIS!" "It wasn't me…" Richie started. He didn't get to finish. Misty had slammed her sledgehammer right on Richie's head, sending him into a slight coma. ****** Ash was walking through a dark, twisting hallway. At the end, he could see Misty, who was waiting for him. He started to jog, then run, then sprint. Finally, he reached her. He paused a little to catch his breath. Then he stood back up. It was time to tell her his true feelings. "Misty, I don't know how to say this, but I love you." Ash said, unsure of her reaction. Misty laughed. It was a cruel, hard laugh. Ash flinched and braced himself for her reaction. "And do you expect me, ME, to love you back?" she sniggered. "Besides, I'm already in love with somebody else. OH, RUDY, COME OVER HERE!" Rudy suddenly appeared out of the mist surrounding them and gave Misty a light peck on the lips. Ash's mouth dropped open. It felt like someone had just ripped his heart out and stepped all over it. "B-but Misty, I t-thought you hated him…" Ash stammered out. "How could you choose h-him over…me?" "Ha! You thought we were actually friends? I despise you! I couldn't care less about your pathetic feelings! Besides, if I had to choose between my friendship with you, and my relationship with Rudy, I'd definitely choose Rudy!" she sneered. "W-what? All of our friendship has meant nothing to you?" he asked weakly. Suddenly, Rudy spoke up. "You know what, Ash? I totally hate, but the worst part is…I envy you. You have all the pokemon, the girls, the friends, while I have nothing. But I guess in the end, I got the biggest prize of all…" he motioned toward the laughing girl next to him. "Misty." Suddenly, Misty and Rudy slowly faded away. "NOOOOO!!!" Ash fell off his bed. "What's wrong, man?" Gary asked him. "N-nothing, I just had a bad dream," he replied uneasily. "Ok, if you say so. I'm going back to sleep." The other teens nodded and also went back to their beds. He caught Misty at the corner of his eye, and instantly, he went into a state of despair. He crawled back into bed and looked at his hands. They were shaking. He steadied them, and before falling into some dreamless sleep, his last thought was… 'Why did I ever believe she would love me back?' ****** One hour later, everyone was up and out of bed. During breakfast, however, Richie had kept complaining about getting too many headaches from the sledgehammer and how much he needed some Advil. Even Ash had said that he was tired of Richie's complaining and had refused to eat because of appetite loss. Now this was a first. After breakfast, the gang headed down to the docks next to the river. They were going to go kayaking. ****** Misty and Duplica were in the same boat. Each kayak was made for two people, so she wasn't able to be with Ash. Instead, he was with a girl named May. (A/N: This May is not Gary's sister. This is the May from Advanced Generation.) It was pretty obvious that May had a crush on Ash, and she wasn't afraid to show it. However, it seemed that Ash had finally gotten happier since breakfast. Misty was worried. It seemed that Ash and May were getting along great. She knew she was being self-fish, but she didn't want to take any chances. If Ash fell for another girl, she didn't know what she would do. Misty knew that May had a crush on Ash, but the big question was… Did he feel the same way? ****** Ash had a feeling that Misty didn't like him the way he wanted her to. (A/N: Boy is he wrong!) So he had finally decided to give up on Misty and try and go for another girl. Staying with Misty would probably just make him hurt more. It seemed that May could be a good girlfriend for him. Suddenly, a large wave rocked the boat. May fell out of the kayak and screamed. "HELP ME, ASH!" Without waiting any longer, Ash took off his shirt and jumped in. He swam freestyle to May and held onto her. Ash then realized that they were going the left instead of right at the fork in the river. Ash remembered that if you went left… You'd be heading straight for a waterfall. Ash hugged May closely to his chest as both of them fell down. ****** May regained consciousness and noticed Ash was hugging her, and he didn't even have a shirt on. She blushed, but then realized the predicament they were in. As they dropped, she didn't even have enough time to scream. ****** Ash was dragging May up the shore. All the other students and councilors ran up, since they all had landed their kayaks on land and immediately raced toward the scene. It seemed as if May wasn't breathing. Ash knew that there was only one thing left to do. He performed CPR on her. He put his mouth on hers and started to breath in and out, in and out. Color began to come back to her cheeks as Ash continued the procedure. May got up and gasped. She vomited out water and gasped again. Then she noticed that Ash was sitting next to her. She realized why her lips were so warm. He had given her 'the kiss of life.' She immediately hugged Ash tightly. ****** All this time, Misty had been watching with a bitter face. 'I knew it. He could never love me.' Misty left, and her heart was shattered. ****** 2 days later… Duplica, being the faithful friend she was, had noticed that something was going on. Ash was being unusually close to May, as Misty was being unusually close to A.J. She knew what had happened. Both Ash and Misty had waited too long, and both of them thought the other would never love them. So, in desperation, they were trying to forget about their old love life and start a new one. Duplica sighed. She knew the situation was hopeless, but she had to get those two together. She would do anything to help. Even if it did mean that she could ruin her friendship with Misty. ****** Uhhh…I guess you can call this a cliffhanger…but I'm nice and I tried to keep it light. *wink* Well, don't forget to send reviews! Seeya!
